Newm really does feel cosmic horror weird in all the best ways. Like its pose and eye almost looks as if its a contained galaxy in itself with the eye looking like earth
I'm just imagining a battle with it just floating in an empty void, barely moving for any of it's attack animations, no battle music, just a slight droning sound, and a Giygas-esque inability to comprehend it's attacks
RJ Palmer’s designs are so authentic, even when he does stuff like just convert kaiju into Pokémon designs. They fit so well into the style. I wish he could do work for the Pokémon company outside of the Detective pikachu movie.
I think Emperooster is the first Fakemon I’ve ever been sad to think I can’t ever catch and use. Y’all make some excellent top tier Fakemon, but that proud little chicken would be my best buddy

But the problem with Pokémon fans-if this Pokémon was actually in the game, some would complain that it’s “just a regular rooster” and they won’t just ENJOY the creativity behind the design and concept
I’m imagining a Pokémon game where there are two main evil teams. One wants to travel back in time to change the past. The other wants to travel to the future and steal the technology to bring back. You can catch some ancient or future Pokémon, depending on which game you picked and which evil team is featured. Think the idea has plenty of potential.
As someone who has loved Gyarados since the day I laid eyes on it, Gyaradon is everything I've wanted to expand its design and further its evolution. It's very different, but it's still awesome and presents a whole lot of new possibilities! Loved that one.
UmbreonLibris freaking killed it with his theme. I always love to think about worlds where the bad guys won, and that could actually make for an interesting future topic. Give everyone a game and ask them to make evolutions where the pokemon had to adapt to what was caused by the villain. Mad Maxx style wasteland pokemon that survived the blast in X and Y. Pokemon who had to adapt to a Subnautica style ocean world as a result of Pokemon Sapphire.
@GamingWithNave So obviously with some teams it doesn't quite work but going more or less in order: Team Rocket is just out for profit, what they do wouldn't cause evolution. Team Aqua/ Magma would cause evolution through their goals of expanding the sea/ land. Team Galactic wanted to recreate the world. Chances are most of the Pokémon in Cyrus' new world would be the same. For Team Plasma, at least in Black and White, I feel like it could be less evolution and more, creating more Pokémon like Genesect. (The whole theory of Genesect being a modified Kabutops, so do more technologically modified Pokémon) BW2 was already touched upon in this video. I already mentioned Team Flare in my initial comment, but yeah it could go two ways. Fallout style wasteland Pokémon that have had to adapt to the fact that the world just got blown up. Or, no changes at all depending on what you believe the ultimate weapon would've done, since it was supposed to "Make the World beautiful" And Team Skull and the Aether Foundation wouldn't really cause any changes. They could also use some spinoff evil teams if they wanted, like making Shadow Pokémon from a world where Team Cipher won, or maybe some kind of industrial evolution brought upon by Team Dim Sun.

Now I want a entire Pokémon game set in frozen Unova, where you’re one of the last survivors. Maybe there’s one town left, and you have to gather a squad to survive outside that settlement. You’re mission is to find Volcanora, and return warmth to the land with it. Maybe you would have some sort of relationship with a Ghetsis descendent, whether antagonist or not. They could either double-cross Ghetsis, be against him from the start, or work against you A bunch of Pokémon would get “frozen” forms, including the starters, which could be found in the wild, exploding in population without human interference. They would still probably be rare, only found in hard to reach places. While controversial, I would imagine one Pokémon, specifically designed to help humans survive in the frigid cold, be the starter. Some ice-types from other regions would be there, with some Unova Pokémon going extinct. This would also be the perfect time to buff-ice types
I'm imagining a Pokemon Legends Kyurem where it's this, but starts you off thinking you're in the distant /past/ of Unova but as you go through the game you slowly, horrifyingly realize this is a distant future in a timeline where Ghetsis won, and the three dragons have come back together as one as human conflict has waned because everyone is too busy surviving for the kind of conflict that split them in the first place

Theory: Newm is the beginning of an era. Nothing is known or understood about it, because we'd first have to fathom that it's the first ever Pokémon to possess the Space Type. Once that type is discovered, and its property are known, only then will we be able to collect accurate data about Newm. The theory is inspired by the unscrutable nature in 2001 Space Odyssey, and how it's more or less about the next step of evolution. It's not unknowable, simply not *yet* knowable.
I love the idea of an alternative universe where villains were successful with their plans. I actually would like a Legends Arceus style game with this premise.
I mean technically it is already canon. Team Rainbow Rocket in USUM consists of evil team leaders from different dimensions in which they won. We just haven't seen anything from their dimension yet. Maybe someday we will actually get something in that direction, it would be really interesting
It was so cool seeing RJ's designs and how he was able to encorporate so much from the original pokemon and still make it be able to look like its own thing entirely. Would definitely love for him to come back for another video
40:00 "you could kick that thing". Roosters can be quite aggressive. They don't care how big you are, if you challenge them they'll attack and try to get you with their spurs. I've known people to use roosters as a guard dog. A rooster attacked my nephew when he was a toddler and my wife booted it like a football and the rooster came back for more so she kicked it again at least two other times before if finally gave up. Also, they are voracious predators: fleas, ticks, roaches, lizards...I tossed a mouse I found into a chicken pen and they instantly pounced on like a pack of velociraptors. If you have a pests in your yard, chickens may be a solution.

0:21 I was just playing BDSP this week and was literally thinking about how interesting Purugly's concept was and if it could be expanded on with a regional variant or evolution.
Newm looks like a version of Mew that evolved right through into the dark age of the Universe, where everything that once was is now gone and all that's left is never-ending darkness. This is hit home even harder by its muted, white color palette, similar to that of creatures who live in the deep sea. What's the point of being any colors at all if there's no light to soak up and you're surrounded by darkness? Definitely my favourite pokémon of this batch, I'm already chomping at the bit for more! Keep up the great work!
I loved the backstory for all of UmbreonLibris Pokemon, I loved that all 3 of his Pokemon had a consistent backstory. That said Newm and Gyaragon were awesome!
IMO best pokemon by each artist: UmbreonLibris: Cozilloth is super adorable and even more so by being friggen huge. TrueGreen7: Wailand just perfectly hits that ugly, cute, friend shaped nerve that the new fire starter hits. Vergolophus: probably the strongest batch in this video. Gyaragon feels like an improvement to both gyarados and rayquaza + the unique coloring really makes it stand out. honorable mention to Newm. R.J. Palmer: Emperooster is just genius. Such a tiny pokemon having this much of an attitude is absolutely hilarious and endearing.
My favorites in this vid are Wailand and Emperooster. I can honestly imagine myself climbing onto Wailand's back and riding him like a bucking bronco in a rodeo. And, as for Emperooster, I like him because I just really like birds. :)

Gyaragon almost feels like it could be a guardian deity to regular Magikarp and Gyarados, kinda like Diancie is for Carbink. All of these are so freaking cool, I adore the cat-monkey and Cozilloth especially.

The antag's backstory would be about them on their 10th birthday hyped for their pokemon 'adventure' when suddenly pokemon related disaster strikes and entire familly dies. Years later the kid now adult has captured dialga, palkia, celebi, and hoopa in a plan to go back in time and live in peace using a timeline hopping machine. After "winning" it turns out their plan was already put into motion since the start of the battle and the whole battle was just a distraction. The machine activates, and the game force crashes. When you open up the game again, what greets you is the "pokemon:paradox" title but each letter is in a different style

Emperooster might be my favorite of the bunch! Tyrantrum is one of my favorite dinosaur-esque pokemon designs, and I'm a huge sucker for anything chicken related, as I've got my own little flock here at home! And knowing roosters, yeah, those guys are basically small dinosaurs. I love the dude's stance and imposing posture, even though he's a little guy, you do NOT wanna mess with him, because he can clearly cluck you up! Awesome designs all around, they're all stunning!

I would love to see a Female variant of the emperooster Where the waddle was either completly removed or made to a minimum size so it would look more like a Female but also having an asthetic of a Bald eagle!
What's more realistic in chickens is a smaller comb for females. So either making the comb and waddle smaller or removing them (they kinda look like facial hair in a way so without it may appear more feminine and resemble bald eagles) would be a good fit, though I'd be interested to see a difference in color pallet between male and female.
really cool theme idea! i have fan theory that in scarlet/violet instead of regional forms, we're going to get "generational forms". these will be pokemon found in space/time distortions that are based on this theme of speculative evolution (as well as speculative ancestors). this is how we'll get the hisuian forms in S/V (found in "past distortions" alongside some new ancestral forms of pokemon).

These were so interesting and creative. I love the different lore brought up for these drastic changes and how wild some of these concepts could get while still being reminiscent of their ancestors.
I've been thinking of following her after seeing how good Gyarados's evolution and I got super convince when the soon she showed newm, everything is just perfect. The design, the story, and the mystery it holds
Just all the eeveelitions turn into knockoff legendaries. That would be awesome. Cetaceon being like the common mid-sized whale besides Kyogre. Jolteon being like mid-sized electric bird like zapados and it gains metal typing due to birds being able to navigate using the magnetic field of the Earth like how Vaporeon gained a psychic type due to having a beluga like big brain.
This series keeps me completely mesmerized for the entire duration of each video. Can't wait to see what the next prompt is, and who will be participating. Your intros for the participants are as mesmerizing as the designs themselves to me, since I don't keep up with many pokepeople. Everyone sounds so cool, and has comes up with such interesting takes on the prompts, and the passion for the subject and supportiveness of and interest in others' designs make for great chemistry.
Idk if its intentional but Sharpresto's shiny seems to be a reference to the Terminator with it being grey with red eyes and the whole "in the future they rule the world" stuff

Another awesome idea for this series would be fusions, give each person the same three pokemon for example, bulbasaur, piplup and luxray and then allow them to make their own fusions with any of the 851 pokemon that exist. It would be so cool to see what ideas each person has for the same pokemon

god idk what it is about this series, maybe it's the limiting challenge, maybe it's the desire to impress your friends, but these videos always produce some of the best fakemon out there, everyone on these videos is so wildly creative (also this video really makes me want a pokemon game that takes place far into the future like wow)
Newm looks like something that Mew would turn into by being ordered by Arceus, to then space travel to another planet and then start a new Pokémon World. Arceus would probably do this after seeing something unsalvageable in the current pokémon world (probably the Gethsis mention) and since Mew is the ancestor to all Pokémon, he should be enough.

I really like Arborend, Gyaragon, Newm, Cetaceon! I think Cetaceon is my favourite, so cute and interesting and fascinating that it would sort of reverse-evolve based on our world's logic.

40:00 "you could kick that thing". Roosters can be quite aggressive. They don't care how big you are, if you challenge them they'll attack and try to get you with their spurs. I've known people to use roosters as a guard dog. A rooster attacked my nephew when he was a toddler and my wife booted it like a football and the rooster came back for more so she kicked it again at least two other times before if finally gave up. Also, they are voracious predators: fleas, ticks, roaches, lizards...I tossed a mouse I found into a chicken pen and they instantly pounced on like a pack of velociraptors. If you have a pests in your yard, chickens may be a solution.

I love that Emperooster isn’t just a chicken, but a pidgeon when you look at the shiny colors
Newm looks like a version of Mew that evolved right through into the dark age of the Universe, where everything that once was is now gone and all that's left is never-ending darkness. This is hit home even harder by its muted, white color palette, similar to that of creatures who live in the deep sea. What's the point of being any colors at all if there's no light to soak up and you're surrounded by darkness? Definitely my favourite pokémon of this batch, I'm already chomping at the bit for more! Keep up the great work!
I loved the backstory for all of UmbreonLibris Pokemon, I loved that all 3 of his Pokemon had a consistent backstory. That said Newm and Gyaragon were awesome!
IMO best pokemon by each artist:
UmbreonLibris: Cozilloth is super adorable and even more so by being friggen huge.
TrueGreen7: Wailand just perfectly hits that ugly, cute, friend shaped nerve that the new fire starter hits.
Vergolophus: probably the strongest batch in this video. Gyaragon feels like an improvement to both gyarados and rayquaza + the unique coloring really makes it stand out. honorable mention to Newm.
R.J. Palmer: Emperooster is just genius. Such a tiny pokemon having this much of an attitude is absolutely hilarious and endearing.
My favorites in this vid are Wailand and Emperooster. I can honestly imagine myself climbing onto Wailand's back and riding him like a bucking bronco in a rodeo. And, as for Emperooster, I like him because I just really like birds. :)

Gyaragon almost feels like it could be a guardian deity to regular Magikarp and Gyarados, kinda like Diancie is for Carbink.

The antag's backstory would be about them on their 10th birthday hyped for their pokemon 'adventure' when suddenly pokemon related disaster strikes and entire familly dies. Years later the kid now adult has captured dialga, palkia, celebi, and hoopa in a plan to go back in time and live in peace using a timeline hopping machine.
After "winning" it turns out their plan was already put into motion since the start of the battle and the whole battle was just a distraction. The machine activates, and the game force crashes.
When you open up the game again, what greets you is the "pokemon:paradox" title but each letter is in a different style

Emperooster might be my favorite of the bunch! Tyrantrum is one of my favorite dinosaur-esque pokemon designs, and I'm a huge sucker for anything chicken related, as I've got my own little flock here at home! And knowing roosters, yeah, those guys are basically small dinosaurs. I love the dude's stance and imposing posture, even though he's a little guy, you do NOT wanna mess with him, because he can clearly cluck you up! Awesome designs all around, they're all stunning!

I would love to see a Female variant of the emperooster Where the waddle was either completly removed or made to a minimum size so it would look more like a Female but also having an asthetic of a Bald eagle!
What's more realistic in chickens is a smaller comb for females. So either making the comb and waddle smaller or removing them (they kinda look like facial hair in a way so without it may appear more feminine and resemble bald eagles) would be a good fit, though I'd be interested to see a difference in color pallet between male and female.

i have fan theory that in scarlet/violet instead of regional forms, we're going to get "generational forms".
these will be pokemon found in space/time distortions that are based on this theme of speculative evolution (as well as speculative ancestors).
this is how we'll get the hisuian forms in S/V (found in "past distortions" alongside some new ancestral forms of pokemon).
Dalailure has really unique design and silhouette. Would for sure use that on my team

These were so interesting and creative. I love the different lore brought up for these drastic changes and how wild some of these concepts could get while still being reminiscent of their ancestors.

For cetaceon i would love to see the different evee evolutions interpreted the same route!! Its such an interesting idea.
Just all the eeveelitions turn into knockoff legendaries. That would be awesome. Cetaceon being like the common mid-sized whale besides Kyogre. Jolteon being like mid-sized electric bird like zapados and it gains metal typing due to birds being able to navigate using the magnetic field of the Earth like how Vaporeon gained a psychic type due to having a beluga like big brain.
This series keeps me completely mesmerized for the entire duration of each video. Can't wait to see what the next prompt is, and who will be participating. Your intros for the participants are as mesmerizing as the designs themselves to me, since I don't keep up with many pokepeople. Everyone sounds so cool, and has comes up with such interesting takes on the prompts, and the passion for the subject and supportiveness of and interest in others' designs make for great chemistry.
Gyaragon and Cetaceon are my favourite interpretations of this. Newm is a very close second, but those two just tickles the "this is awesome" bone.

god idk what it is about this series, maybe it's the limiting challenge, maybe it's the desire to impress your friends, but these videos always produce some of the best fakemon out there, everyone on these videos is so wildly creative (also this video really makes me want a pokemon game that takes place far into the future like wow)

Newm looks like something that Mew would turn into by being ordered by Arceus, to then space travel to another planet and then start a new Pokémon World. Arceus would probably do this after seeing something unsalvageable in the current pokémon world (probably the Gethsis mention) and since Mew is the ancestor to all Pokémon, he should be enough.
