It’s worth noting that Mjolnir has the means the grant those who can wield it only a partial amount of the power of Thor. Nobody can ever truly become Thor with the hammer equipped in an entirety of the sense. After all, Mjolnir is still a hammer, a tool as well as a weapon, but Thor is a god, for he is and always will be Thor.

@@lechking941 In this context, if Mjolnir is becoming heavier, it’s simply because Thor is ascending as a god beyond the hammer’s necessity. Though only the line of Odin can wield Mjolnir, so it will still be with Thor even if he no longer wields it. It’s not because Thor is unworthy, rather he is becoming more, especially more than a warrior of Asgard.

Spoiler for the comment section. Turns out the Hammer is possessed by a powerful being that was locked inside Mjolnir by Odin. So the being isnide the hammer was choosing who to let it wield it Worthiness had NOTHING to do with who weilded the hammer it was left up to the God of Hammers who was trapped inside. The death that Thor sees in this story is Thanos who has a black gauntlet on hos left arm and he assmebles Mjolnir with the Infinity gems inside them while commanding an army of undead marvel characters.

Thor. Magneto can neutralize 2 of Thor's abilities (Lightning and Hammer) but in the end Thor without that is still basically Superman in strength, durability, and flight. Magneto would have a hell of a hard time overcoming that while still fending off a sentient hammer and lightning strikes. Thor is an overwhelmingly powerful character that is vastly underutilized in the Avengers.
