Had the good fortune to see him a number of times with my older cousin who just loved him. He was utterly fantastic each time. He loved and respected his audience tremendously. Rest In Peace Rick!!
Just an outstanding first-rate A-list performance across the board; top notch lead singer/rhythm guitarist, top notch lead guitarist (fantastic solos!), top notch keyboardist (again an awesome solo!), top notch drummer and top notch backup singers.. just heartbreaking that they all went so soon....RIP
Those back up singers are The Jordanians! They sang with Elvis for years! And also with The Judds on a special occasion or two. They were the best. And how ironic, this being an Elvis song they musta felt right at home! Love and miss you little Ricky ❤❤
I will also add that for all of you younger folk who have grown up accepting autotune and lip-synching, THIS is what REAL artistry, musicianship and talent sound like...I understand using certain techniques in the recording studio in order to produce a certain effect, but if you cannot go out and sound like this live then you are not an artist period...these gentlemen were outstanding....
Rick Nelson was one of the originators of Country Rock. Although many of his albums from 1968 on, never sold well, Rick was still a pretty decent songwriter. It's ashame his early days was his hiatus. Like Jim Croce, and Warren Zevon, he died too young. He did make "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame", which he deserved. He launched Randy Meisner's career.
Thank You for sharing the video's. I watch them over and over as this time of the year brings a lot of sadness and folks like you that share these video's help keep their Memory alive. Bobby Neal (guitarist) is my brother. My family and I have enjoyed watching all of them. Thanks again so much!
Sorry about your brother. I loved watching him play. That night ....I was in my car, Chesapeake VA heading to a party. My wife didn't realize how that radio news hit me.
Totally agree with Stash. Ricky died a tragic death at 45, along with his band members and girl friend. He should have never bought Jerry Lee Lewis's DC-3. It was a death trap. According to witnesses, the pilot almost landed the burning plane on the road, but it unfortunately blew up as it landed.
Rick died because his DC-3's heater malfunctioned according to the NTSB. Drugs were not involved. In the late 50's and early 60's he was as popular as Elvis. Gets real tiring listening to ignorant people cast aspersions on a man and his band that died a horrible death.
Cordcordoi su tutto e soprattutto con gli ignoranti che parlavano a sproposito sul nostro Idolo il grande Ricky che x noi non tramonta mai è il numero 1 ❤❤❤❤
@memphis77 He was far from an Elvis wannabe, as he was really better than Elvis, he did not have Col. Parker . He did well on his own and as for his band, they wrote their own stuff, Elvis wasn't a writer after money started rolling in. As for Rick Nelson, his band also featured Tim Miesner, a founding member of the Eagles. As fo the rest, that is all conjecture.
Well I enjoyed-- it its a competent cover ... Remember Elvis 's version was a cover as well !!! If my ol memory serves me ---Didn't this guy die in a plane accident running drugs into the USA ?

The Crowned Prince Of Rock&Roll
Brilliant stuff.
RIP Boys.
He was so handsome - I used to love watching Ozzie and Harriet when I was a young teenager . The highlight of the show was watching Ricky sing .

A pro and nice guy. I enjoyed working with him. Thomas V. Grasso Producer/Director of Rick live in concert 1985.
Sorry about your brother. I loved watching him play. That night ....I was in my car, Chesapeake VA heading to a party. My wife didn't realize how that radio news hit me.
Loved his playing. Never forget that new years eve

jerry lee lewis was a demon possessed moron
Elvis' favorite singer.
Jeff Walsh Actually I think it was Roy Hamilton. Ricky was a good friend apparently.
Nope! The King's favorite singer was Dean Martin.

Yeah! It was because of his magnesium lined heater!

Actually Ricky recorded this also.
Just as well sung as Elvis version if not BETTER
Elvis desert a little bit better because the tempo is a little bit faster but Rick is not shabby at all!❤

My father
@@jodyneal4969 He ever tour Australia?
@@williametheridge1764 yes. 81 or 82 I think ♡
What a talent! Clean and crisp guitar playing!
that's what he looks like in color.👅👄
@blasty109 No he did not convey drugs into this country, it is widely viewed as freebasing coke, but all is conjecture.
Rick was asleep when the fire started as was stated in Investigation Report. Rick was like so many during this time.
@memphis77 He was far from an Elvis wannabe, as he was really better than Elvis, he did not have Col. Parker . He does this song better than Elvis and he’s definitely much better to look at then Elvis.
James does play the same country twangy sound and stock country riffs!
Poor Rick was on lots of drugs at this time. It made a mess of his life!
Bob Neal is a far better guitarist than James Burton. Burton has a sameness about his riffs.
His playing is so original, so classy
