  • In this video I am sharing a few thoughts on how I create emotion in a watercolour landscape while demonstrating the painting process for a peaceful mountain scene using one colour only - Tundra Violet from the Super Granulation series by Schmincke Horadam.

Great demo of a beautiful painting! Your instructions are very helpful, however, you did not mentioned an important tip, which is, your paper is raised about 45 degrees, leaning on a board at the back, to allow the water rundown and created that fade effect and the waterfall. ( Can be seen @ Minute 1:38). 😊

Really nice and inspiring to watch, I like the idea of minimalistic painting too, and sometimes I only use natural materials like a feather instead of a brush.

J'aime beaucoup.

Wow, beautiful peace filled landscape. I remember the first time I saw the tundra paints demonstrated. I could not believe the effect they had on me emotionally. I still haven’t purchased them, but hopefully I will. It’s been several years since I watched Steve on the Mind of Watercolor channel demo this glorious paint. Thank you for showing what can be achieved with this wonderful paint Anastasia. Blessings to you!

It does feel like I am painting with a magic wand when I use them. I hope you can add them to your collection one day. I must say Tundra Violet is my favourite and most used colour of the whole set, and I purchased a 15ml tube of it now as the 5ml tube that came in the set was not enough!

Oh I am so happy to hear that 😊 Thank you again! That support for the paper wasn’t anything I bought - it is just a repurposed bit of packaging our washing machine came with 😁 It’s a cardboard corner protector. Something similar can be made by folding a piece of cardboard into a prism shape.
