Hello Thank you for this video. I have to constantly apply sunscreen to my face, because it is extra sensitive to the sun due to chemical burns on my face, glad to know that there are less toxic sunscreens out there!
Thanks for watching! There’s even more data showing the dangers of parabens and phthalates that was just published. Hoping to see some changes with chemical regulations in this country!
Yeah… tallow is not exactly environmentally friendly. If it’s in my urine, doesn’t that mean my body cleared it? I completely agree about the aerosol not being a choice. They should be recalled.
Also you should consider clothing as well. Solbari an Australian brand does 50 spf clothing, including for swimming. I use it in the Philippines. It's much easier to cover up than to apply sunscreen which may vary in thickness of protection.
The majority of recommended sun screens listed on here are below 30 SPF which dermatologist recommend and has to be re-applied every 2 hours in order to be protected against harmful UVA/UVB rays. I have had 5 melanomas removed since 2017 and I am very picky about which sunscreen to use, I can not use chemical sun screens because I am allergic to them, I had tried them decades ago and my skin felt like it was set on fire! My dermatologist at MD Anderson recommended Elta to me which is physical mineral sunscreen and low on the list of toxins by EWG, I have been using this particular sunscreen for a very long time now and have had no problems with it as far as burning skin and believe me, I am super sensitive to chemicals, perfume and so on. Unfortunately people rarely speak about all the chemicals in our food, in particular everything pre made ready to eat junk and fast food that people eat every day on a regular basis. Cancer in America is rising in record speed because the FDA is allowing chemicals to be used in our food supply, on animals and their feed and personal hygiene products that not allowed in many other countries! As a matter of fact, there is a multitude of countries that have banned certain foods from America to be imported into their country!
Thanks for the recommendations! I have been trying to find some on my own, it’s amazing how prolifically toxic the beauty industry is. There’s a zillion beauty products out there, and 99.9% of them are harmful.
It’s challenging to access ingredient lists for products available in other regions. This is why I teach how to read labels inside the Safe Ingredient Academy so you can answer these questions for yourself 🔥 www.subscribepage.com/safe-ingredient-academy-waitlist
@msferz9177 I was wondering the same thing. I did scan this product in the YUKa app and their rating came back as poor, 49 out of 100. I am confused with how they rated this product though, for all ingredients were listed as no risk, nothing listed as hazardous or with any warning.
This is super dynamite and helpful!!! I saw one clip from this girl and I'm in love with her!!! She's the person I've been waiting forever to come into my life!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU Doc Yvonne!! 😘❤️😘❤️
Hello! I do have a question about the badger sunscreen line. What is the difference between the numbers of SPF? Also, will the 40 or 50 SPF badger brand will give a white cast on Asian skin tone? I am in my early 30's will it be weird if I use the baby version. I am sorry for all the questions. I will be going to Cancun in a couple months and I want to prepare myself. Thank you
Hi Anna! Thanks for watching 😊 I believe that the difference between SPF 40 and 50 is the relative amount of UV protection each one provides. Based on my research, SPF 45 blocks 98% of UV rays and that’s sufficient so higher SPF isn’t worth the extra cost. Just be sure to reapply frequently. Our whole family uses the Badger Baby sunscreen so not weird at all. Great job thinking ahead! Have a great trip 😎
is blue lizard spf 50 non toxic? not sure the difference between the baby version vs the sensitive version any chance you would? Also can you recommend an affordable alternative to ceraVe, is cetaphil cleanser/moisturizers non toxic without endocrine disruptures?
They have improved their formulations, but J&J has received over 38,000 lawsuits about their talc baby powder being associated with cancer. I would avoid these products.
Ordered Badger sunscreen via Amazon. Was going to order from your link- but ironically you listed a SCENTED (Chamomile) sunscreen. I chose an unscented version. Maybe yours is natural but as you have said many times- why risk it? I don't need or even want any scent whatsoever anyway.
Is the following products fine to us pla? 1) Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield 2) ISNtree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel, SPF 50+ PA++++
Curious as to why you would use Dakota tallow instead of the hundreds of other zinc oxide/tallow sunscreens out there. Is Dakota tallow a homogeneous mixture? From what I understand that seems to matter quite a bit.
Hello, Thank you for this information! I was wondering what are your comments about the EWG warnings against the following ingredients in the Beauty by Earth Tinted Mineral Sunscreen recommendation? The ingredients of concern are: Cupressus Sempervirens (Cypress) Leaf Essential Oil, Citrus Paradisi (Pink Grapefruit) Essential Oil, Iron Oxides (CI 77499)
Thanks for watching! This is a great question. I don't give the EWG ratings a lot of weight because most of them lack data. I agree that essential oils carry risks for allergies, but unless you're allergic or have sensitive skin, then it shouldn't be a problem for most people.
It’s a bit heavier than thinner conventional sunscreens, but we use it on our faces when we go to the pool or beach in addition to wearing a hat and finding some shade 😎
Great question! The Anthelios Ultra Light Facial Sunscreen contains these active ingredients AVOBENZONE 3% • HOMOSALATE 10% • OCTISALATE 5% • OCTOCRYLENE 7% which are ones to avoid, sadly. Have you considered a zinc oxide sunscreen?
One question and one recommendation: if the price for suns reen is too high, what is more important? Coverage or price? The tips is, I recommend rosemary water for very fair skin.
Would love you to try ALL-IN-ONE Mineral Tinted Sunscreen + Anti-Aging Skincare by YAY NOVELTY. It’s non-nano gel cream formula and fragrance-free. Safe for human and marine life.

I appreciate you sharing this research. I am a newly cancer survivor and it gets overwhelming with the hidden ingredients. Thank you very much!!
I appreciate the way you speak without being too scientific for common people without discarding the important information
Thank you so much! I put a lot of effort into this and appreciate you noticing.
Please create more non toxic face and body care products! So needed! ❤

Wishing you all the best 🙏🏽
I'm so grateful for your channel and for what you are doing x
🥹 Thank you so much!
Excellent warning and advice. This video should be public safety #1, as your skin absorbs most of the toxins applied to it.

💯 Protective clothing and staying out of the sun are best!
Thanks for the tips! How do we effectively remove applied sunscreen?
First cleanse with an oil based and then with a water based cleanser

Thank you for sharing useful knowledge
Will these sunscreens protect me from freckles. I tried to make my own but it didn't protect me.
What about sunscreens for the EU? I can’t find any sunscreen of the mentioned available in my Amazon region.
Would tallow be safe if have congested skin with blackheads? If body struggles digesting fats? Thanks!
Hi Dr. do you know any toxic free SPF50 sunscreen?
What are your thoughts on the brand Hawaiian Tropic? They have a SPF 50 and a vegan option as well. Are those safe to use?
The ingredients lists I’ve looked at are not low tox 😢
@@dryvonneburkart That’s what I was afraid of. Fuckkkkkk. Okay, thank you for your help. I will switch it out.
Hi there - what do you suggest for a mineral-based adult body non streaking sunscreen? Thanks for posting all this great info!
Thank you for this video. Very helpful information that I wish was more widely known.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Zinc in sunscreens leaves a whitish tint on the face , it’s fine if one wants to look like ghost . Any suggestions ?

@@dryvonneburkart I read that anything over 30 would have to use nano materials? Is this true? I’ve been using the highest of 30.

It was the first tallow based sunscreen I tried and works well for me. Plus it's a family owned business and all products are made in the US.

What are your thoughts on korean sunsncreens?
I have yet to find one I would use. If you know of any made with zinc oxide as the active ingredient please share
@dryvonneburkart have a look at haruharu, they have mineral and chemical one. Maybe look into Beauty of Joseon and SKIN 1004
