    The concern I have for products free of parabens is "what are they replacing them with"....which could be even worse. Many products now say they are paraben free, but still have long lists of ingredients.

      I mean just look the ingredients and look where they coming from, like synthetic or mineral origin, or something like that, just see each of them that you don't know and put into Google and see what it states. as I said if it's synthetic or mineral oil (cause mineral oil is used for so much other ingredients that have different names and they are all not best for the skin only like trapping moisture and making the skin smoother, but other more natural ingredients may do the same and give more benefits). also a lot of cheap preservatives used that are not the best

      Henna is a 100% natural hair dye. My scalp still reacts to this plant powder. I need to use neem powder mixed with it (2 tablespoons per one-time). My scalp gets red and irritated without neem. Just avoid color "black" which is said to contain carcinogenic ingredients.

In the absence of parabens I wish to know what ingredients to look for in ensuring a water-based product has sufficient preservatives to keep it from growing mould and microbes which for example in mascaras are a risk for infections and blindness. I agree that rocking your natural hair color can be a bit boring after a few years especially when we are surrounded by people who have fun with changing up their colors once in a while. Essential oils or natural ingredients doesn’t mean it’s better as essential oils are scented. According to Dr. Dray and other board certified dermatologists essential oils can also cause contact dermatitis.
    Will definitely avoid parabens and fragrance/parfum. Thank you for what you do!

    • @ReyaLia
      @ReyaLia 6 дней назад

      Does that depend on each individual? Or we simply avoid essential oils?

    • @ToraTheGoldenRetriever
      @ToraTheGoldenRetriever 6 дней назад +1

      @ depends on the individual and also this is knowledge for everyone so that they know what causes the irritation when it happens.
      The ingredients I avoid are synthetic fragrance/parfum, essential oils because it naturally has fragrance, denatured alcohol, witch hazel .
      However, for hair and scalp it’s OK to apply rosemary oil (essential oil), castor oil, amla oil and other carrier oils that are good for hair growth and healthy hair.

Most just go for “hot” products , assume that as long as products are in the market , it means they have cleared by FDA and meaning they are safe!

      @RFN26 as a medic I'd say - if you can retrieve that bottle and take it to a medic, perhaps an allergy specialist. Take/keep photos of the effect and write down time line of reaction. The fact your lips swell up is a BIG red flag - if you are exposed to the same allergen again you might have swelling impacting your airway (breathing) especially if you you had any swelling of lips, tongue or roof of mouth. Reactions can be worse each time in some people.
      You need advice on which of the ingredients to avoid & have on your medical records as allergy.

    Hi! I'm very thankful for your RUclips channel. I'm a soon-to-be dad and I've always been weary of hormone-disruptors for myself, but now even more so for the baby. I've already ordered a bunch of Ecoriginals and Eco Pea Co diapers and wipes in anticipation of him. What are your thoughts on plastic in toys? What about materials of baby clothes? I'm sticking to mostly wooden toys from LoveEvery and organic cotton for the clothes. Tons of research to do and I would love some of your thoughts on this in your future videos.
    Also, any recommendations for non-toxic makeup brands? What are your thoughts on fluoride in toothpaste and water as a toxin?

      @dryvonneburkart  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I’m glad to be of service and so pleased to hear how much action you’ve already taken before your baby arrives 🙌🏽 I would avoid plastic toys as much as possible due to endocrine-disrupting chemicals and heavy metals. Babies put toys in their mouths and could be exposed this way. Untreated wooden toys would be the gold standard in my opinion. 😊 I’ll make a video about baby toys with safer options. I have several videos on my channel about makeup and skincare 🤩

    I did some research because the EU version of this lotion (US-version is called "Daily Moisturizing Lotion" and EU-version is called "Moisturizing Lotion") doesn't have parabens listed on the label, but does it still contain a slight amount though? Do we want to support a company that has a version of their lotion with parabens and one without?
    At 7amlab they write: "They have to change only ingredients that are not allowed in Europe so you may have noticed there are no parabens in the EU version." and "Since cosmetic products only utilize a very minimal concentration of these compounds in their formulas, parabens are officially regarded as safe to use under EU and FDA standards in their current form.", so my takeaway is that they still could put a very small amount of parabens in the EU version if they felt like it, because it's "considered safe"...???
    And considering it's still chemicals in a plastic bottle no matter if it's US or EU, maybe we're just better off with oils in glass bottles and whatnot...
