The concern I have for products free of parabens is "what are they replacing them with"....which could be even worse. Many products now say they are paraben free, but still have long lists of ingredients.
It’s not your fault! They should not be selling products with these toxicants while misleading consumers to believe they’re perfectly safe. Now you can make a better choice going forward 🙌🏽
I mean just look the ingredients and look where they coming from, like synthetic or mineral origin, or something like that, just see each of them that you don't know and put into Google and see what it states. as I said if it's synthetic or mineral oil (cause mineral oil is used for so much other ingredients that have different names and they are all not best for the skin only like trapping moisture and making the skin smoother, but other more natural ingredients may do the same and give more benefits). also a lot of cheap preservatives used that are not the best

But after watching this, I'm going to look for an alternative. FYI, for anyone who likes Cerave products, the baby lotion does not have parabens or any of the other major endocrine disruptors as far as I can tell.
I just discovered your channel and have been binging. Do you have a video or would you be willing to make a video on hair dye. I stopped coloring my hair three years ago and sometimes I miss coloring but I am anxious about exposing myself to toxins…

But it's worth it considering the alternative (I read cancer risks go up by 90% with PPD in hair dye). Also, I don't know about you but I've never had a hair color suit me as well as my natural one.

Hello! I use both the CeraVe cleanser and lotion. I don't see any parabens on the ingredient list. Could they be hiding under another name/term? I do live in France, so perhaps it's a different formulation. Thank you so much for taking the time to educate us and help us make better decisions!
Fyi, products labeled unscented are still allowed to contain chemicals that mask or neutralize odors of other ingredients. In other words, they contain fragrance components. And researchers who tested American fragrance-free body moisturizers found that 45% of them contained at least 1 fragrance cross-reactor or botanical ingredient.
They’re still used widely unfortunately, but now we can avoid them by reading the ingredients list. It also helps if we contact the manufacturers to let them know why we want to avoid these ingredients too.
I have just used the exact same foaming facial cleanser from your video & I have had an instant reaction. I only used a small amount, but my whole face was red raw, tight with big blotchy white hives. My face/scalp/ears were all tingling. My lips were swollen, my eyes were burning... then I started to really panic. After taking antihistamine pills, rinsing my face with cool water/diluted organic chamomile tea & sitting with a cold compress on my face for hours, my face finally calmed. I have thrown a brand new full sized bottle of cleanser in the trash, I wouldn't sleep donating it.
@RFN26 as a medic I'd say - if you can retrieve that bottle and take it to a medic, perhaps an allergy specialist. Take/keep photos of the effect and write down time line of reaction. The fact your lips swell up is a BIG red flag - if you are exposed to the same allergen again you might have swelling impacting your airway (breathing) especially if you you had any swelling of lips, tongue or roof of mouth. Reactions can be worse each time in some people. You need advice on which of the ingredients to avoid & have on your medical records as allergy.
Hey! Thank you for sharing, this information is invaluable, God bless! On another note, do you also consider the materials/clothes you wear? Would you consider sharing some brands you trust? Warmly, Hannah x

Excellent question! “Fragrance” is often a hidden source of endocrine disrupting phthalates, carcinogens, and allergens. Not to mention, it’s unnecessary in a lip product. If anything, “flavor” would be more appropriate since some may be ingested.

Thanks for watching! The Cerave Moisturizing Cream does not contain parabens or phthalates, thankfully. However, there are other ingredients of concern such as ceteareth-20, carbomer, and phenoxyethanol. Occasional use is not a concern, but you mentioned daily use and the problem is that no one knows the long-term health effects of frequent use combined with layering several products with overlapping ingredients.
Hi! I'm very thankful for your RUclips channel. I'm a soon-to-be dad and I've always been weary of hormone-disruptors for myself, but now even more so for the baby. I've already ordered a bunch of Ecoriginals and Eco Pea Co diapers and wipes in anticipation of him. What are your thoughts on plastic in toys? What about materials of baby clothes? I'm sticking to mostly wooden toys from LoveEvery and organic cotton for the clothes. Tons of research to do and I would love some of your thoughts on this in your future videos. Also, any recommendations for non-toxic makeup brands? What are your thoughts on fluoride in toothpaste and water as a toxin?
Thanks for watching! I’m glad to be of service and so pleased to hear how much action you’ve already taken before your baby arrives 🙌🏽 I would avoid plastic toys as much as possible due to endocrine-disrupting chemicals and heavy metals. Babies put toys in their mouths and could be exposed this way. Untreated wooden toys would be the gold standard in my opinion. 😊 I’ll make a video about baby toys with safer options. I have several videos on my channel about makeup and skincare 🤩
@@dryvonneburkart Wow, thank you! I'm watching some of the videos on makeup brands now. Some ideas for future videos would be about toxic chemicals in baby clothes, toys, fluoride (If you even believe it's a problem, but I've seen studies from Harvard where it's been associated with lower IQ, but correlation and causation are not the same thing), baby wash/shampoo, detergent, etc. We all appreciate what you do and I'm sure that concerned parents would flock to your videos and make your RUclips channel soar.
Thank you so much. I'm getting a bit concerned about the phytoestrogens in foods like soy and flaxseeds. Should I be concerned? 🤔 I know that lavender's an endocrine disruptor, so I made a point of avoiding that years ago.

This was very informative thank you! One question- In EU at least in my area, the Cerave ingredient list has no parabens so is it good to go or should I seriously just swap into black soap or something more natural?
It’s recent as of today. It could be a regional difference depending on which country you’re located in. www.cerave.com/skincare/cleansers/foaming-facial-cleanser
It depends on the specific product and your location since brands use different ingredients in different countries. Which ones are you asking about specifically?
My women starts fight with me when i try to tell her these are toxic and not good to you in long run. These companies have absolutely got hold on women's brain and completely washed their brain to just consume consume and consume. I appreciate the tricks if you guys have any just to wake her up to this reality.
Why would this be the case if some of these products are developed by dermatologists. They are doctors! That doesn’t really make any sense to me. Do they not know?
Excellent question! I foresee this happening in the EU first since regulations are much more stringent compared to the US. This is newly published research and it could take years before legislative action is taken, which is why learning about ingredient safety is the best way to protect ourselves.
I did some research because the EU version of this lotion (US-version is called "Daily Moisturizing Lotion" and EU-version is called "Moisturizing Lotion") doesn't have parabens listed on the label, but does it still contain a slight amount though? Do we want to support a company that has a version of their lotion with parabens and one without? At 7amlab they write: "They have to change only ingredients that are not allowed in Europe so you may have noticed there are no parabens in the EU version." and "Since cosmetic products only utilize a very minimal concentration of these compounds in their formulas, parabens are officially regarded as safe to use under EU and FDA standards in their current form.", so my takeaway is that they still could put a very small amount of parabens in the EU version if they felt like it, because it's "considered safe"...??? And considering it's still chemicals in a plastic bottle no matter if it's US or EU, maybe we're just better off with oils in glass bottles and whatnot...

Hello! I use both the CeraVe cleanser and lotion. I don't see any parabens on the ingredient list. Could they be hiding under another name/term? I do live in France, so perhaps it's a different formulation. Thank you so much for taking the time to educate us and help us make better decisions!
Yes exactly. Formulations differ by region.
Parabens are banned in the EU.
I've found them in so many of my products.
They’re still used widely unfortunately, but now we can avoid them by reading the ingredients list. It also helps if we contact the manufacturers to let them know why we want to avoid these ingredients too.
How about oils like frankensense, myhrr, sandal wood, Aragon, etc?
Check Roxy Dillon.
So sorry to hear this 😰
I once threw out a whole new bottle of cerave cleanser because it made the whole family break out. So glad I did.

Have you looked at into the Lume products?? Please do a video regarding their products. Thank you for your video very educational 😊
Thanks for watching! Lume deodorant is an improvement over conventional and mainstream products, but the varieties I’ve looked at contain undisclosed fragrance 🚩 What products are you looking to swap?
@@dryvonneburkart definitely deodorant, detergent and body wash. So far haven’t found a good nontoxic deodorant that actually works for me 😩. I’ve also looked into detergents I’m working into swapping it to something like earthbreeze detergent. I’ve swapped my body wash to hugh and grace body bar soap. I’ve been learning soo much from watching your content. THANK YOU 😊
I have used Lume in the past, and found it worked very well. Just bought it again and have to read the label for ingredients, but it can be used all over the body. It can be bought without fragrance.
Thank you so very much for such an important, life saving health science
Glad I could help
why is fragrance on dior lip oil bad for skin? is it because the high risk of allergies or other bad disease? can u explain more of it please, thank you ❤️
Excellent question! “Fragrance” is often a hidden source of endocrine disrupting phthalates, carcinogens, and allergens. Not to mention, it’s unnecessary in a lip product. If anything, “flavor” would be more appropriate since some may be ingested.
I had breast cancer last year and have been using niven creams (amongst many others,I was given aquas cream after radiotherapy, should I just use that as body cream ?

Can you please tell us the same about Cetaphil and Simple Skincare??
Cetaphil cleanser does not contain parabens or phthalates 🙌🏽 It was challenging to find the ingredients for Simple products, so we can’t say for sure.

I had a bad reaction to this product that affected my eyes. It took me awhile to figure out what was wrong and concluded the face wash was the culprit.
Sorry to hear! Glad you found the cause.
Hai, how about chanel lip product? Is it all perfume can cause it too? Thank you.
If the lip product contains “fragrance/Parfum” then it could contain phthalates, which I would avoid.
So this foaming facial cleanser should be avoided? Or is it okay to use for 1 year?
It depends on your preferences. The long term risks of these products is unknown and there are some ingredients with concerns such as parabens.
how about cerave moisturizing cream? is that product safe? because i use that product for my daily skincare😢
@@dryvonneburkartthank you for very helpful info by naming concerning ingredients! 👍🙏

@@robfrancis2195 I've got a video that covers most of these coming up soon! Thanks for your support and excellent ideas. Keep up the great work! 💜

Thank you so much. I'm getting a bit concerned about the phytoestrogens in foods like soy and flaxseeds. Should I be concerned? 🤔 I know that lavender's an endocrine disruptor, so I made a point of avoiding that years ago.
I stand clear of soy. Plus it tastes horrible 😅

Can you please tell us the same about La Roche Posay? thank you
Sadly, La Roche Posay contains ingredients of concern. Which products are you looking at specifically?
@@dryvonneburkart products about la Roche Posay cicaplast baume B5+ & la Roche Posay effaclar duo ? thank you
Unfortunately, most of the clean products you recommend are out of the affordable price range of most consumers.
Just read labels. I use shampoo and body wash that are very cheap, $10/29 ounces and $6/24 ounces, and they don't contain parabens or phthalates. The shampoo contains some fragrance, but it washes out.
Due to extreme allergies and rushes I stopped using all detergents and softeners, and switched to my own detergent gel made out of soda & shaved dr.brenner baby soap. It cost me 20 times less and finally I could wear clothes that last longer and doesn’t give rush to skin, for rinse cycle just a little bit of white vinegar and few drops of mint essential oil
While it’s a valid point it still costs waaaay more to get sick ..

This was very informative thank you! One question- In EU at least in my area, the Cerave ingredient list has no parabens so is it good to go or should I seriously just swap into black soap or something more natural?
Great job checking the label! Parabens aren’t in the EU Cerave. It’s region specific.
Parabens are banned in the EU.
I don't find parabens in Cerave product you have mentioned. How old was that ingredient list you read?
It’s recent as of today. It could be a regional difference depending on which country you’re located in. www.cerave.com/skincare/cleansers/foaming-facial-cleanser
UK one doesn't have it! 🎉
How about nivea?? I use nivea body lotion and nivea sunscreen..
How about those product?
It depends on the specific product and your location since brands use different ingredients in different countries. Which ones are you asking about specifically?
Iam from indonesia and using nivea from thailand which are white and yellow one
My women starts fight with me when i try to tell her these are toxic and not good to you in long run. These companies have absolutely got hold on women's brain and completely washed their brain to just consume consume and consume.
I appreciate the tricks if you guys have any just to wake her up to this reality.
Why would this be the case if some of these products are developed by dermatologists. They are doctors! That doesn’t really make any sense to me. Do they not know?
Could you make a list of all the ingredients to avoid please. It’s confusing with all the names
Parabens & phthalates 🚩It’s also in the research articles I linked in the description.
How is Almay? Hypoallergenic is not irritating but can have anything in them. I can't see the ingredients on the packaging.
Can you type the names of what to avoid please
Look out for “Paraben” or “fragrance/parfum” on the label.
Why did we not ban these ingredients all together?
Excellent question! I foresee this happening in the EU first since regulations are much more stringent compared to the US. This is newly published research and it could take years before legislative action is taken, which is why learning about ingredient safety is the best way to protect ourselves.
How is the product from L'oreal revitalift Paris?
Because I have been using this product for a very long time
Which product in particular? Sadly, L’Oréal products are not low tox 😰
Sorry, I also need an explanation from the dermatologist's side, will you discuss it? Honestly I'm confused, I even use one of these products.
Thanks for watching! I recommend researching to find the answer to your question. I’m not a dermatologist and won’t comment from their perspective.
