wow wow wow ;) the sofa's style scene made be think of the matrix ;) those face close ups on her are amazing Love the colors in the classroom and on the beach once you tell us to get the 23mm and now you tell us the 33mm is top notch ; which one of you should i believe ;) ? and the 0:07 shot made me think of some fincher's "social network" shots ; outstanding !!!
i might try more of these "netflix style grades" in the future but for most reviews i kinda like to keep it neutral. 23mm f2 is my favorite lens, but 33 is best performing. A bit sharp though for video not to mention the weak video AF
@Samiam-mu5ln enjoying your time on RUclips? So you’re telling me I should also not film anything in China (where I live and he doesn’t) or I’m stealing his style or taking to a camera or I’m stealing Peter McKinnons 👍
Quentin Tarantino copied a lot of others before him … it’s hard to be original .. especially in this age , but you making something is already one step ahead of someone who is not
@Clever Ghost Chili it is the way you produced it... the angles, the script, the tone of voice, the girl, the poses, the locations and settings, the music and grading... besides the lens... all of the above included
I got this lens too after watching some of your videos. I really like it, both for video and stills. I do think that the autofocus jumps are actually *worse* than cheap Viltrox lenses. The Viltroxes do have a nice smooth rack focus on the XT4. The Fuji lenses on XH2S have jumpy autofocus, and even jumpy manual focus. So I don't completely love it except when the focus is locked in.
I think you hit the nail on the head I had the same experience, focus by wire is always a pain for video work. I have the same experience with my 23mm f2, which was consistent on the xt3 but less so on the xh2s. The 23mm f1.4 doesn’t jump as much and the AF improvements on LM lenses are definitely noticeable for photography but for video I’m not sure. I tried many settings, but it’s annoying changing af settings for each lens. No matter how slow the tracking speed, the 33mm always jumps can’t figure it out
LOVE IT!!! 50mm is indeed a great focal length. I didn't know the thing you mentioned about wider focal lengths being more flattering. For close up (head) shots, should I use a 50 instead of an 85?
Wider focal lengths make everything slimmer, not necessarily more flattering. Most Westerners don’t care about face proportions and shape but in the East its all people care about in regards to beauty. I might make a small post about it. Closeups I prefer 50 but I recommend 85 headshots which is more universal if you want to be super dramatic and see the minute details, but your actor cannot over-act facial expressions because the face becomes the entire screen. Whichever you choose I suggest shooting at an angle and never head on or the face becomes too round
Everything you're saying about 35 mm is classically true for full frame 35 mm, right? But Fuji is an aps-c frame so this lens is actually 50 mm. Not that 50 mm isn't a great focal length, but I'm a little confused what youre trying to say.
I tried to make it less confusing by adding titles, when I refer to 35mm it’s 35mm on apsc. In the comparison bit I use a speed booster with a 55mm full frame lens which has the equivalent view of 39mm but yes I’m focusing on the apsc format 35mm hope that clears it up
@@cleverghostchili Oh I see. Yeah it's annoying to always point out the conversion to full frame focal lengths, but at least for me that would have been easier to follow. Nice work regardless :)

Right, basically stealing his whole style... like how hard is it to be original

Very pleased! Your comment gives me strength 🫡
@@cleverghostchili Keep doing please!
This lens practically lives on my XT4. I tend to leave my 16-55 and 50-140 in my bag or at home
Size is definitely very manageable, though I wonder if it is front heavy and lacking grip with the xt line
you got a new fan here
