    REAL race fans,and REAL Dale Earnhardt fans have no problem with Austin Dillon driving the 3.It's not Dales paint scheme and Austin and Ty Dillon were like Dales own kids.Just look at how many pictures you can find with Dale and those kids...they are all over the place.All she said was she didnt want to see a number 3 with Dales paint scheme,Richard honored that request.I bet if Dale was around to ask he wouldnt have a problem with it either.If you want to be mad at someone,be mad at Theresa Earnhardt for running DEI into the ground and not selling the controlling share of DEI to Dale Jr.Dale Sr built DEI for his kids and had said so before.

Its not like Richard got Goodwrench to sponsor the car and paint it up the same, Austin's schemes look nothing like Dale's. Also agree 100% in your DEI opinion. The kids dont wreck, and they know how to drive.

The 3 is up for grabs, at least we have someone who respects it, and isnt a bad role model for the car. Have you seen how Dillon acts off the track, hes a damn gentleman and takes care of his fans.

    • @robr1822
      @robr1822 10 лет назад +4

      Cause thats how it was back in the day, the sport has changed considerably if you havent noticed. Austin wasnt handed anything, the kid has performed. And dont say "he's driving for Richard, anyone can win in those cars" cause Dale & Harvick are the only ones who have actually done well in Cup, and Bowyer & Harvick are the only ones to perform in NNS. Austin has won 2 Championships, he takes care of his car, and is a PR's dream cause he knows how to take care of fans and sponsors. Get over it, Dale is dead, he wanted the sport to move on after he was gone and thats what we are doing. Stop putting the 3 as if there is only one driver, a load of drivers have driven it, and Nascar doesnt retire numbers, so its about time it returned, at least its a kid that was a fan of Dale, respects it, and is in the family, Not like he just threw Juan Pablo in the car and called it good. Also Dale didnt even win his first championship in the 3, he won in the #2, so i guess we better take that away from Brad cause he doesnt deserve to drive Dale's old number. drove the 15 car for a bit too, better retire that too and take it away from Bowyer. Made his debut driving the 96 so that better never race again too . See how the lines get blurred like that. Dillon in the 3 fits, and he's not driving a Black car with Silver trimming, and a white 3 on the door, with GM Goodwrench on the hood, so let Austin do what he's done the rest of his career, preform and succeed.

      @Dillon davillian yeah and it’s better to give the 3 to Richards grandson rather than some random driver. However I believe the 3 should stay a family car so after Austin retires maybe it goes away unless his son or tys son takes over.

    It's a tough call , It's Earnhardts number , If it was up to me I would retire the number. I'm sure there's some D Allison fans who hated seeing the 28 car continue to run after his death but Allison didn't get killed in the 28 car ( helicopter crash ) Earnhardt wasn't my favorite driver but I did pull for him alot . Dale Sr really was the intimidator and the number 3 car should be retired. This is all coming from a die hard Ernie Irvan fan .

    Austin Dillion’s 2020 car look almost identical to Dales car. I kinda like it though. It looked weird at Daytona. There was on part in the race where they were going into turn 3 and showed him, it looked just like Dales car. I just kept thinking of the Wreck in 2001. The Ryan Newman wrecked. Glad he’s ok

    I am one of the few who thinks that the 3 should always run. Maybe not with Dillon in it, but it's a peice of the sport. Drivers have died in other numbers, and they still run. I love that the 3 is back. I hope we, at least, see a throwback to the man in black at Darlington someday. That'd be great.

    Harvick put it in good words. Rich kids who have everything spoon fed to em. He never changed from the 29. Why change it now. Some call it an honorable thing I call it blasphemy. But nothing wr can do to change it I guess.

    • @robr1822
      @robr1822 9 лет назад +3

      Guess what dude, Kevin harvick was set to run the #3 GM Goodwrench car at Daytona in 2004. Look it up, it was all set to go through, and Harvick was ok with it. then Teresa said she preferred not too see it ran so Richard said ok we wont do it. So it was gonna comeback 3 years after his death. So Austin running it 13 years later is not a huge deal.

    • @dudeslacker2380
      @dudeslacker2380 6 лет назад

      Harvick is a hothead that says nonsense when he doesn't get his way. Part of why his popularity is no where near the Earnhardts. Not likable at all. The dude benefited on getting a ride from Dale Sr.s death. So that comment of his was always dumb. Considering Dillon has won in all 3 series now, that "rich kid getting handed stuff" comment is invalid. Austins proven that he can race with the top guys. The 29 changed back to the 3 because Austin Dillon wanted to use what has been his Grandfathers number before his Grandfather let Dale Sr. use it.

    to be honest, I think driving the three car would be an honor... I would LOVE to drive that car, only because Earnhardt once drove that car... it is kinda like keeping his legacy alive... how many of you see that number three and automatically think of Earnhardt? if ya don't, ya ain't a Earnhardt fan... God, every time I see that three car, I see Earnhardt... even though I KNOW it ain't ... just knowing that was his car, I remember seeing that car and and cheering for him... as I often do now... even though I ain't really a Dillon fan, I am a number three fan...
    forever a fan... #3
