  • This past week for the first time in over a decade RCR reunited the No. 3 Goodwrench hauler with it's 2001 cab. Original driver Jim Baldwin was on hand to pull his rig into the shop one final time.
The complete cab and hauler will rest in the RCR Museum for fans to see on their visit.

The tractor was an earlier version, we reconnected the tractor from 2001 with it's hauler to now sit in the museum.

Anyone else feel like when he went to step out of the truck one last time as he looked around the truck a bit of sadness. You could tell he didn’t want to get out and tried to brush it off

We have lost a lot of heros, stars etc in the USA. But it is amazing how many people connected with Dale Earnhardt. It been a lot of years and he still dominates the sport. He was larger than NASCAR and they knew it. He will forever be missed leading the pack at Daytona and DEGA !!!

Ok that's enough children! I'm an owner/operator with nearly 3 MILLION accident free miles. The truck drivers crashing and killing people every day are the ones that the big companies push through their so called schools every 6 weeks or so. On the other hand, MOST crashes involving trucks are actually caused by people in cars. The real reason that the truck driver gets the blame is that WE are the professionals and I guess WE are supposed to be able to read YOUR mind and know that YOU are going to make that lane change and then hammer your brake pedal in front of us. Oh...F.Y.I. I just bought another brand new Freightliner...this makes 5 that I own and I paid nearly $160k for it with a bank check drawn on my business account. At this point I'm thinking that I could buy any of you that made derogatory comments about truck drivers with $100 bills. Also notice that I can spell.

I still remember the announcement... "it is the saddest day to bring you this news... we have lost Dale Earnhardt"... though I have never met the man in person, I felt like I lost a member of my family... I want to cry as I type this if only I COULD cry... and seeing that truck one last time makes it even more emotional... so long as that man is remembered, he will never truly die, he will live forever, in our hearts and in our memories...
    Dale Earnhardt: 1951-2001

Me and my dad went to an event at Gateway about 25 years ago and we ate at the Burger King across the street and my dad was wearing his Earnhardt coat and we sat down to eat. A man walked over and asked if he could join us and he joined us. After a minute or so of talking Nascar and RCR and Earnhardt, he introduced himself as Earnhardts hauler driver and he was literally one if the nicest guys you could meet. I was so glad I stumbled on this video because it reminded me of this event and even as a six year old I can remember this guy

I think it'd be a neat deal if on the 20th anniversary of Dales passing RCR drove the hauler with the car back down to Daytona parked it next to Austins hauler and then during the pace laps they get someone to drive the 3 car around the track with the field of 40. I don't know why. I just think it'd be a cool sight for the 3 to return to Daytona one more time.

Still can’t watch anything about him without my eyes filling this crazy liquid stuff. I was born into Earnhardt fandom, as my father was a huge Earnhardt fan from the day he began his full time nascar ride with Osterlund in 79’. I was born in 78’ and it was burned into me as soon as I was old enough to understand English that we were more than just fans. He was the American don’t take crap from no one blue collar working man’s hero and we all considered ourselves family to him. I would still and have fought for him. I still have every die cast I ever bought of his cars, haulers and more since they began making the stuff in 89’ or so. Thank you for the bigger than life memories Dale. We love you always.

For some reason I've been watching some videos of Dale. I personally had a connection with him, since I was there to cut the roof off of his car in Daytona :-(
I considered him a friend over the 30 years I worked there. As a Firefighter/Paramedic with the city, I saw numerous heartbreaking situations. His death affected me tremendously & I couldn't stand to go to the track in my capacity on the safety crew.

Used to work in sales around Michigan International Speedway. I always planned to try and be in the area around the track the week leading up to a race. Got to see a lot of haulers roll up the road towards MIS. Was never more excited than when I finally spotted the RCR #3 hauler. No matter how many times I stood on pit road during cup qualifying hoping he would walk down pit road. I didn't want an autograph I just wanted a handshake. That would have meant more to me than a scribbled autograph on a piece of paper. Then tragedy happened on a February day in 2001 and we all lost something.

Mr.Baldwin, I think that you had a relative in Little Rock, Arkansas. And we were a Band staying down the road.We played at the Checkmate in town in the early 90's. We would we the Dales Truck and go wow. And you were kind enough to give us some Earnhardt items. I hope this is you. If not God Bless.

This video is played on a loop in the hauler, as I first walked in it restarted and I knew the song instantly and I thought to my self they couldn't of chosen better song (First Breath After a Coma). I thought it was even cooler that they had Jim reconnect the original truck and hauler.

It is appropriate that the truck and transporter get officially retired as these parts of Dale Earnhardt / RCR history have a tremendous story to tell future generations. Thank you RCR.

I saw an interview with Marth Earnhardt, Dale's mother, she said the #3 would not ever be used again, but he lied, I think that broke her heart ❤️
