  • Kerry Earnhardt enters the studio and fills in gaps about his childhood that Dale Jr. never knew. The eldest Earnhardt details his family situation from a young age when Dale Sr. left the picture and what life was like growing up with no knowledge of his other family. Hear how he found out about his Earnhardt side, how he met his grandmother, and why it took so long to meet his dad in person.
    Find out how long it took Kerry to build up the courage to go out back of Mammaw’s house and greet his dad. Hear how the interaction went and what happened at the front door when Kerry went to see his dad and meet Dale and Kelley for the first time.

      @twoblacklabs904 3 года назад +27

      Tim, trust me, I’m no Teresa Earnhardt apologist. But could you possibly look at it from another viewpoint? She’s already involved with a man with 2 previous wives and 3 kids separated between those 2 women who don’t really know much of anything about each other or their kids AT ALL, let alone having the new and added responsibility of essentially becoming an instant stepmother to both Dale & Kellie who lived with Dale & Teresa 1/2 the year. Then along comes Kerry - child (actually a teenager) number 3 out of nowhere...now I’m not justifying her cold rudeness and standoff-ishness, but she has got to be realizing at this point that she’s involved with a guy with A LOT OF BAGGAGE! That’s kind of A LOT to take in...
      I don’t know it for a fact, it’s just my gut feeling, but I’m pretty sure Teresa felt like she had bitten off more than she could chew, by hitching her wagon to Dale’s. That’s the ONLY reason I’d cut her ANY slack...she might’ve been the wicked step-monster, but I give her a little bit of credit for trying to manage the load she volunteered to take on...
      Just my opinion...I don’t “love” (or even LIKE her), but I also can’t hate her too much for trying...

    Amazing.
    I've been a Dale Jr fan for a long time.
    This makes me respect him even more.
    He has shared some incredibly personal family history here, and I think it's awful generous of him.
    This had to be pretty hard for Kerry to open up about also.
    Wow, it's interesting these two men kind of getting to know each other and getting past the complicated childhood history.

      No he didn't bail on him. As was said, they got married when they where 18 (the young and dumb years :-). It was out of respect of Jack that Sr. kept his distance and trying not to interfere in his relationship with Kerry. I can imagine if Jack wasn't a good guy Sr. Probably would of stepped in. It would be interesting to find out how long he was getting Christmas presents from him though.

    Kids that have divorced parents carry an extra load on their shoulders, its difficult & not deserved but that's the way it is. Life is not easy but young people are resilient & they don't know any different so they just keep on moving along. all 4 people involved here ( Kerry, Kerry's mom, Kerry's Step-father & Dale ) are just trying to navigate a touchy & emotional minefield.
