I know it's been been 22yrs since his passing, but you can still feel his presence at the track,I know it's been 2yrs since this video came out,but it still hits you hard that he's gone, thank you for the memories
I can relate to Bill getting choked up, & holding back tears. Hell, I never met Sr. & I still miss him. NASCAR hasn't been the same for me since his passing. Good job Tyler!
It hasn’t. I never met SR also but i find myself thinking about him like I would a lost loved one to me it’s like every time i see something NASCAR I instantly think of Dale Sr.
@@Chicken_Wing91 likewise....Sr. was, is and always will be, "the man" for me...I haven't watched but an occasional race now and then when i just happened across one. I tried to go on watching the year we lost him, I looked for him every race and couldn't even watch the rest of that season....this was a great video and honor to seen! Great stuff here Tyler...blessings to all
That’s awesome. I’ve been watchin real tree outdoors for a long time. I quit watchin nascar when Dale passed away. Very awesome video. Good job Tyler and mr Childress
Teared up a little watching the reactions and listening to R.C. present the car. Met Dale in 1986 when I was 9 or 10 years old at his dealership grand opening. I went through his autograph line so many times that the last time I went through he looked down at me over those glasses with that smirk as only Dale could and said, you already been through here ain't ya son? And smiled and winked. Loved him from that day on. Havn't watched Nascar since that day maybe tried to watch a race or two but it wasn't the same. RIP Dale we miss ya to this day. Awesome present and video!! Thank you for bringing back a load of memories!
Tear jerker ❤️ I grew up in the 80s and 90s and Dad drag raced but he was a Dale fan through and through. I lived in Thomasville, NC back when Dale passed and it just didn't seem real. #3 is missed dearly
When I first got into archery (96) I didn’t know which camo to go with. In 97 when I seen Realtree on Dales car that was all it took and it all I’ve worn since. Tyler it don’t seem like you should be old enough to get married. I still remember your turkey hunt when you were little and you wore the no.3 hat right after Dale passed. I wish y’all the best and I look for many more years of of Realtree.
I met Dale as a 9 yr old kid. Autograph signing at my local Chevy dealership in 1994 (his final championship season) Something I said must've impressed on him because he had me sit next to him for 20 mins as he signed other people's stuff and we just bench raced. We talked about cars and what I saw them doing on track and he answered every question and my dad was sitting off to the side in pure shock... I'll never forget that he took that 20 mins of time with me like that. That's the kind of thing that makes you happy you met your hero. Losing him absolutely sucked in every way imaginable for me personally because of it. It was only 20 mins, but it's 20 mins most everyone in my position as some random fan never get. Your family is lucky to be that close with Richard, and to have been that close with Dale. Regardless of what you happen to do for a living or any of the business stuff, not many people get to be that close to greatness.
Me too, similar story, so great. Just a couple years before you, 1992 before the Watkins Glen race Dale did an appearance at my local Chevy dealership. I waited four hours in line, got my auto and a short conversation with Dale. Dale stayed at the dealership for EIGHT hours and signed for everyone from 1pm until 9pm when they closed. Say what you want about Dale he loved his fans. One of the best moments of my life, will never forget it.
It's amazing the impact dale had on the common man. It's been over 20 years since he died and I never personally met him and I sit hear watching with big tears falling on my phone, what a legacy and impact dale left. Great video thanks for posting.
Thank you Tyler for recommending this video. It really tugged on my heart strings!! I met you at the Great American Outdoor Show this past weekend in Harrisburg, Pa. I’m the one with the Dale Earnhardt signed Monte Carlo I showed you. We shared a couple of stories about your Dad, and Dale. I’ve been VERY fortunate enough to meet many people I look up to in life, including your Dad, Richard, Hank Parker, you, and the man himself, Dale Earnhardt. As I was telling you about meeting your Dad back in 1992 at the Sportsmen Center in Bordentown, NJ, he struck me as if I was talking to an old friend I haven’t seen in a while. He wasn’t the inventor/owner of the best camouflage on the market, or the most popular hunting videos out at the time ( Monster Bucks), he was just Bill Jordan. A regular down to earth guy who loved the outdoors, racing and wanted to share that with the people he talked to. He made a lasting impression on me and memories that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. You remind me a LOT of him, as you have the same qualities as he does. Hope you, and Team Realtree have continued success, and maybe we’ll meet again at the show.
So cool. Makes me wish I had one. Dale meant a lot, was there in 98 to see him win, my daily driver is a 95 Monte in Earnhardt colors, fingers crossed stupid environmental laws won't take it away from me as it means a lot to me. Love how you surprised your dad! God bless you all!

Man... you could see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice. What a special gift, and what great memories from years past. Just wonderful. Thanks for sharing this with us.
That looks like a 98’ car to me but either way what a bad ass gift to your dad. Makes me wish I could give my dad a Mark Martin 6 car (his favorite driver)
1998 was the 50th anniversary of NASCAR so it was a 98 car I don't blame him for being one year off since they used the same body for the monte Carlo from 95 to 99 but still a amazing gift wish I had a Dale Sr car in my garage lol
I've always wondered how many of Dale's cars survived. It's great to know that Richard still has 47 of these. Never would have guessed that many even existed
Getting ready to go to a wedding here shortly and Bill had me crying watching this. Somebody you know and care about telling you your kid is doing good and you did good raising them will make most any man get in their feelings. Congratulations Tyler on the wedding!
Congrats Mr Jordan I remember seeing you at the back water condos I was hanging out with my dad Robert Slaughter it was 4 th of July I holla happy ,,,,4th you were getting on pontoon boat hahaha I must say that's a good son what present congratulations sir
That was amazing of Richard and your Boy, I really loved NASCAR back then when Dale was a live and I have a nice the collection of his stuff. Seeing this brought tears to my eyes very touching.
Just the fact that y'all got to meet dale is amazing I was 5 when he died I remember watching the race my dad turning off the tv after they got him out and he sat me down in my bedroom after the announcement was made and we cried bc he was a big idol to me I had #3 Goodwrench and a #2 wrangler go kart (the #2 became a #99 exide Jeff Burton ) but dale was a big part of my childhood I'll never forget
This is such a beautiful video. As someone who idolized Dale throughout my childhood I am so thrilled to see one of his cars go to somebody so important to the #3 car. They is just amazing 😭
Awesome video! No one deserves a car more than Bill. Pretty cool for Richard to do that..If Dale was alive he would have done the same. Good work Tyler! As a 3 fan we need to see things like this.
Awesome video!!! Great to see your relationship with your dad. My dad was my best man too. Dale was best ever! Growing up in Bristol, I got to see Dale at the track when I was younger. Loved when I got to go to the pits and see Richard, Dale and the crew during tire test. Congrats on getting married.

Pretty cool, congrats. Someone help me out here though; that 50th anniversary decal doesn't belong on a 99 car, and that's the wrong hood and chassis color if it's a 98 car. I remember him changing the chassis to white for the 500 he won, then keeping it that way. Not trying to detract anything, just wondering. Thanks.
It was raced in 1998 and 1999. 6 races in 1998 and 2 in 1999. They decided to put a mix of the two in the scheme to show it was raced in both years when displayed in the museum. Chassis #38
