Thanks for sharing buddy! I´m facing the same situation but on a 2-cylinder Kawasaki Versys 650: it´s STPS seems to be failing. Your video confirmed what I was suspecting. Greetings from Argentina.
Excuse me, my throttle valve is normal but the throttle valve actuator control is abnormal. The operation is not normal as you did at 8:00, but the throttle valve actuator becomes normal after the time when you dial the throttle valve actuator. So sometimes it's normal and sometimes it's not normal, so what should I do?
It sounds like it maybe a fault with your ECM. If you can get your hands on a new one, it may fix it. But you may also have a dead spot in the actuator.
@@lloydcalicott Is there any way to detect ECM failure? I also hope that it’s just a throttle failure, otherwise the parts are really good and easy to find
@@lloydcalicott I checked the voltage of my ECM computer and found that the voltage is not 8.5-10.5v. My measurement results are all at 3.5v. Is it an ECM fault?
My z1000 is facing same issue. Throttle body plate is stuck Not opening at all unless physically touched. My mechanic tells me it needs to be replaced and cost around 1.5 to 2k. Not a expert but sounds like a ripp off.. any advices.?
Ya he is trying to take you for a ride. You can remove and rebuild them. But you'll need new set od press screws and have to drill the old ones out. Not complicated but just takes time. She just needs to be serviced.
Haha yes, very much so. Check to make sure you have the return springs and cable connected. Also check the function of the twist throttle. They love to be lubed up with some silicone spray. Or if you choose cable grease or lithium spray. Just go through the system and Check function on the cables. Even a small amount of dirt built up inside the cable and cause binding. Best of luck, hit me up with pics and more questions if you need it.
Hey thanks for sharing man! My rubber bushings are dry and cracking a bit i guess it’s normal with vibration and time. Do i need to remove everything like you did in this video? It looks like it..
I have a question hopefully you can help. I was wondering if there is a difference between a throttle body off a California bike vs a non California bike. I am in California and I don't know if Kawasaki has made them different due to our strict smog laws. Thank you
Hey thanks for the video. I have a Z almost identical to yours. I was riding in tha canyons when suddenly at above 6k rpm it felt like it ran out of gas and shut off. I turned the key off and let it cool for a few minutes. It then started right back up. It has done this to me about 5 times now and the mechanic says the throttle body is bad. It makes a noise like the one your bike does. He said he checked and it is only opening up 1%. Is there any advice you can give me on what I should to to solve this issue.
You can either replace the entire throttle body or you might be able to get away with replacing the sensor first and go from there. Also check your wiring harness it could have a short somewhere.
@@lloydcalicott thank you I have found a few used throttle bodies on line and a new one is almost out of the question because of price. I am thinking of getting a used throttle body and taking my chances because they are about 10% the cost of a new one. Again thank you for sharing your video it has really cleared things up for me. My bike won't go over 110 either.
Great video thanks man! I'm having a weird issue that can be temporarily fixed by flipping the kill switch on / off, in my 03 z1000. Would love your oppinion on if you think I have a similar issue! Only difference though is I hear my servo working fine, but maybe it's on it's last legs? 42'000kms, (26000 miles) ruclips.net/video/qCZZ1T2H1FQ/видео.html

Hello
I have this problem too where can i find to buy the piece?that engine?

Dealerships can troubleshoot the ECM. Or you can purchase a diagnostic computer.
@@lloydcalicott I checked the voltage of my ECM computer and found that the voltage is not 8.5-10.5v. My measurement results are all at 3.5v. Is it an ECM fault?
@@青哲謝 yes I would try and swap ECM, check input and output voltage.
Mine opens up but still have that f1 code light with low rev

Gorgeous bike man!! I’m having issues with mine I’m not getting fuel or spark😞
Have you looked into your ignition switch or your ECM/ECU?
@@lloydcalicott yes I’m checking the grey wire issue in the ignition I don’t think it has a resistor on it but if that’s not it I just don’t know
My throttle body opens all the way but doesn’t close back up. Is that an issue ?

你好,我听不懂洋文,我想知道视频中8.10第一次测试和8.52第二次测试是在比较什么?请说故障原因和解决方法,谢谢,祝你圣诞节快乐

You can squeeze into some areas, but it just makes it easier to remove everything. It just gives you space to work.

What were the symptoms b4 u made the repair
Mine will not rev over 8000rpms & pops at that rpm & surges
Pops on down throttle. Delays of the throttle up. Back firing sometimes. It's can do some weird stuff if/when the fuel air mixture isn't right.
Terrance, what was the cause of not revving? have simmilar problem

hi, how should i know if the TB servo got problem? the FI light will turn on?
@@jamley29 yes the FI light will come on at low rpms or you will have hesitation at lower rpms as well.
Hey brother. I have a 2003 z1000 and my throttle cables need to be replaced. Do I have to remove this aswell? Thats what it looks like
You don't have to. Just the tank. It shouldn't be in the way.
Why can't you move the throttle position sensors?
It is sent from the factory for the best fuel to air ratio. It's best if you don't move it.
You still have your Z
no sorry I don't sold it a few years back
This bike i think its 750cc. Not z1000. Its have one said sailesor.

Well the servos can be working yes, but they might not be functioning at the correct time. If the fuel/air mixture is off it can create weird things.
@@lloydcalicott Thanks for the response! I need a set of adapter cables so that I can test both TPS first. Thanks again.
