I think this is still the only one video about ST-E10 on the internet, even Canon hasn't it out!! At least where you can see the screen of the camera with the flash trigger sets using the ST-E10.
Unfortunately the new shoe does not work with the Broncolor transmitter RFS 2.1 as the side contacts have lost connection due to the changed shape of the shoe. However, the Canon AD-E1 does not work with the R5C, and Canon Europe has not been able to answer whether the AD-E1 is compatible with the R5C or not. Maybe Canon UK has some info on this?
again, canon forcing us to buy stuff that never needed to eb manufactured in the first place like the AD-E1 hotshoe adaptor, and they complain of chip shortages. They made the R10, so they ahve plenty of chips.
According to the R7 manual; "Attaching accessories When attaching accessories that communicate through contacts of the multi-function shoe, insert the accessory's mounting foot until it clicks into place, then slide the mounting foot locking lever to secure it. For details, refer to the accessory's Instruction Manual. The following accessories cannot be attached directly to the multi-function shoe. Speedlite EL-1/600EXII-RT/600EX-RT/580EX II Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT (Ver. 2)/ST-E3-RT Off-Camera Shoe Cord OC-E3 To use the accessories listed above with the camera, you will need Multi-Function Shoe Adapter AD-E1, sold separately. For details, refer to the AD-E1 Instruction Manual. When attaching accessories other than these that are designed for regular hot shoes, insert the accessory's mounting foot all the way in, then slide the mounting foot locking lever to secure it. For details, refer to the accessory's Instruction Manual. Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC2/EVF-DC1 cannot be attached to the multi-function shoe. Attempting to attach the accessories by force may damage them or the multi-function shoe." The GP-E2 locking lever won't engage - the pin doesn't align. Very disappointing. Don't want to spend $40 for an adapter that sticks up on the camera. The manual suggests it should work, but Canon help told me to buy the adapter.
As far as the EL-1/600EXII-RT/600EX-RT/580EX II and ST-E3-RT (Ver. 2)/ST-E3-RT go, all you have to do is remove the rubber gasket -- super easy. You'll lose some weather sealing, true, but they will function just as well as the 430EX III-RT, which has no gasket. The AD-E1 is a ritzy, pricey gasket translation unit, nothing more.
So is canon going to force us all to buy new flash gear? Are they going going to license the specs to 3rd parties like Godox and Westcott, or are the going to be tight asses like they are with the RF lens mount? Last I checked canon doesn’t make studio strobes, those of us invested in godox/flashpoint or Westcott are screwed. I’m reading the adapter doesn’t even work with 3rd party systems. Way to go canon
Hello Excuse me may i ask my camera is r5 On-top hot shoe no electrical contacts Do I want to buy AD-E1 this device ST-e10 will do Trigger 600exii lights? Is there support for the other 600ex generation? Thank you so much
How dumb Canon has been for over 15 years. 1. No ATG AF assist beam on transmitter 2. Buying Canon's world first expensive amateur camera for over $6,000.00 & they forced you buy an adapter
Can anyone ask David from Canon who designed hoshoe cover for 'robust' R3? After being hugely disappointed with R3s lockup/freeze issues, which still hasn't been fixed with nee firmware, all my friends who own or tested R3 + many forums confirm - rubber hotshoe cover is crap! Doesn't sit well in place and everybody already lost one! How can you go wrong with this kind of £6k camera! Specs are awesome but quality is far from 1DXIII. After burning R5 there's simple conclusion - all Canon R cameras are being released still as beta versions, all got great specs on paper but all got huge reliability problems. Better wait until MK2, MK3 versions will be released.
And just so you Canon people don't feel so special sony invented the digital accessorie shoe way back on their video camera's in 2003 and then on their mirrorless and DSLR in 2012 its the same design leased by sony to Canon

Exactly, there's hardly anything out there in regards to reviews for these multi-function accessories... At least give McKinnon some extra cheese 😅
ad-e1 is out of stock everywhere!!! why???
Got mine on Amazon recently. Took about a week and a half to come in. Everywhere else I checked was sold out

Q: so we can safely put in normal cold shoes, into the hot shoe?
Does it wobble?
it will wobble overtime and you have to tear it apart. screw is inside the body.
@@jusmtb687 can you not screw it without taking it apart? I was hoping with this new hot shoe that it would be different.
My multifunction shoe on my R5C doesn't even work. Will not power up the ST-E10 nor the adaptor. Maybe something wrong with my camera?

Canon will be forcing you to buy everything they can milk out of you.
Hello
Excuse me
may i ask
my camera is r5
On-top hot shoe
no electrical contacts
Do I want to buy AD-E1 this device
ST-e10 will do
Trigger 600exii lights?
Is there support for the other 600ex generation?
Thank you so much
will it fit on the canon r5?
no. the r5, r6, R, and RP do not have these contacts. The R6mkii, R3, and R7 do.
Does anyone know if the new ST- E10 will work fine and trigger my 430EX II-RT flash?
I believe that it does, it worked with my 600 when tested.
