  • How should you write women? Maybe it's time to take inspiration from one of the world's most famous female authors--Jane Austen. Austen's comedy and drama, Emma, has a very fascinating story about a strong woman... who learns... how not... to be... toxic? Join me as I discuss some interesting themes on strength, empowerment, character growth, and conflict.

I will have to make a point to pick up Emma. I enjoyed Pride and Prejudice more than I thought I would, but stopped reading Austen after that. I clearly should not have.

There are quite a few of Austen's books that I enjoyed. Emma and Pride and Prejudice are two of them. In Mansfield Park, she lampoons the females and the culture surrounding gothic literature. Sense and Sensibility, IMO, is tougher since it felt more heavy in text and light on dialogue. But I highly recommend Emma!

Love this!!! Esp your quote: "In reality, we can celebrate female strength without celebrating being a dick." Guess I need to go re-read Emma xD
