I am a member of Kajabi, Amy Porterfield, canva. I have been overwhelmed with all the content and videos. you have made it simple in your mini course. It has come into focus for me. I am 74 and a chef in New orleans and I want to do a cooking course. I think mini course is the way to go for now. Thanks for really simplifying the process.

Dayum. I always considered my one hour “Jumpstart” course as my flagship course. Now I realise it could be a mini-course and I can create a one hour course each month to end up with my “big” course. Thanks for the aha moment Graham. PS: No filler words (um, ah) and no jump cuts. How the heck did you do that?

Now she's creating her own course. She's a Language coach. She asked me to take a look at what she's completed and it's so funny because I would say, " oh yea this part is great! So I'm now focusing on growing an email list and monetising. Growth is very organic at the moment so I want to stay focused on that, I'm going to push out free PDFs from now until the end of the year, then work on a mini course ready for 2022. Thanks Graham. I made a mini-course last year called "Masterclass on Fundraising in Singapore" which had about 1 hour of content and 9 resources that founders could use. I made a little bit of money but I think the roadblock I faced was marketing it. I didn't want to be pushiing it on my social media continuously and I think that negatively affected my numbers a lot. I'm thinking about what mini-course to make next and if I should do it with a pre-sale and launch.
Thank you Graham. This is so helpful. Hubby and I are in a situation where due to disability, we have no income and are desperate to escape the Dole to financial freedom. We have NO savings (not allowed on the Dole) and could never afford to sign up to courses people offer at the end of their 'free' webinars so I regret it has taken so long to finally find you and your information here has been the most helpful. I'm looking forward to regaining our financial freedom and self-reliance. It hurt deeply when those webinars say that in the sales funnels, those who don't purchase are not the ones you want to bother with because they just want everything for nothing even though they are the ones sharing or promoting what you do...that hurt because I'm sure there are many more folk like ourselves who don't buy because we can't and are desperate for someone to give them the tools to move forward which we just couldn't afford otherwise and would stay chained to the system. I know this is an old video, but I have to agree with what you said about low prices. I own an Etsy shop in the wedding industry. When I would lower my prices, the "budget brides" would come out of the woodwork and ask for discounts and lots of custom work. As soon as I raised my price, no one asked for a discount anymore, and I've been doing this for almost 6 years. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't witness it myself. And don't get me wrong...I was a budget bride! But I would never ask a person to lower their prices. They always write "It doesn't hurt to ask!" Yes. Yes, it does. It's rude.

It is absolutely true that cheap products attract difficult and unreasonable customers. And if you give stuff away for free as a promotion, prepare to deal with some extremely weird people. For these reasons and more it is a great idea to charge premium prices.

Great video. As you mentioned, the biggest point of mini-courses is starting fast and small. By the way, mini-courses also provide a great way to turn cold website visitors into engaged audiences by simply embedding them on the landing pages. Thanks for such nice videos.
It is an amazing idea. I love it. As I usually offer 1on1 coaching, I would love to create 4 month program, but to create the mini courses - online course as start point sounds effective to me. Looking forward to it. I plan to launch it on January 2024. For end of 2023 I created group coaching - as new product :)

This has been a bit of an epiphany. I have 6 months before I retire from the UK emergency services after 27 years and have vowed to make tutoring art my second life! This has been a huge help. I have been working on developing my first course for probably two months now. I’ve done some work on what the course is, but watching this video helped so much because of the tips on the tips on the overall development timeline from beginning to the launch week and, then, the time it takes from there to the close of the launch (the 5 emails). I have downloaded all of the free downloads I have heard so far. I love these videos and podcasts and you really help provide some ease in the process.

Here’s a legitimate question. Not trying to be critical. But you mentioned not needing to build an audience to start an online business with a mini course, but later mentioned that email marketing (with an e-mail list) was the best option for selling it. How do you sell the course thru email marketing if you’re just starting out and haven’t yet established an audience and therefore don’t have an email list?

It is absolutely true that cheap products attract difficult and unreasonable customers.
And if you give stuff away for free as a promotion, prepare to deal with some extremely weird people.
For these reasons and more it is a great idea to charge premium prices.

Great video. As you mentioned, the biggest point of mini-courses is starting fast and small. By the way, mini-courses also provide a great way to turn cold website visitors into engaged audiences by simply embedding them on the landing pages. Thanks for such nice videos.
It is an amazing idea. I love it. As I usually offer 1on1 coaching, I would love to create 4 month program, but to create the mini courses - online course as start point sounds effective to me. Looking forward to it. I plan to launch it on January 2024. For end of 2023 I created group coaching - as new product :)

Great vid. really helpful, I sat down today to start planning online courses... I hadn't even considered mini courses. The thought of designing a full course has been daunting. This has been a bit of an epiphany. I have 6 months before I retire from the UK emergency services after 27 years and have vowed to make tutoring art my second life! This has been a huge help. Originally we were going to do a membership site but decided on going the course route because we feel it makes more sense for our current class model. After we have the mini course and full fledged course rocking, we'll very likely go the membership site route. Thanks again!!

I have been working on developing my first course for probably two months now. I’ve done some work on what the course is, but watching this video helped so much because of the tips on the tips on the overall development timeline from beginning to the launch week and, then, the time it takes from there to the close of the launch (the 5 emails). I have downloaded all of the free downloads I have heard so far. I love these videos and podcasts and you really help provide some ease in the process.

Here’s a legitimate question. Not trying to be critical. But you mentioned not needing to build an audience to start an online business with a mini course, but later mentioned that email marketing (with an e-mail list) was the best option for selling it. How do you sell the course thru email marketing if you’re just starting out and haven’t yet established an audience and therefore don’t have an email list?
