Thank you for the great overview! The most important point for me is that the platform pays VAT to the customer's country of origin. My task now is to find out.
You're welcome! Thank you for a great video. I volunteer for a non-profit organization, and we would like to share our training courses for new volunteers. After watching your video, I think Thinkific may be the best option for us since we need course creation and maybe email functionality.
I personally find Mighty Networks to be a bit too complicated as a member, which is why I don't usually use or recommend them for business owners. (There's a lot to click, and I sometimes feel like I get lost in loops.) They have a ton of happy customers, but I personally prefer the simplicity of Circle. I hope that helps!

I'm curious on your thoughts regrading Go High Level - it seems to compare well to Kajabi as an all in one platform, but a much more doable price. Thank you for the info!! :D
You’re welcome! And great question I haven’t tested HighLevel much personally yet, but I’d be curious to hear about others’ experiences. My hunch is that it’s fairly similar, likely with different strengths and weaknesses. (I’d say that for any platform comparison.) For example, they likely have a stronger CRM than Kajabi, but I’m not sure how their other features compare.
@@witandwire Hi Melissa, thank you for your videos! I am also curious as to how you think HighLevel shapes up against the other platforms you mentioned. Speaking from someone who is just researching how to get started. 🙂
If you’re looking for a platform with community, email marketing, and memberships, it sounds like you’d be looking for an all-in-one platform. Our top rec is currently Kajabi: witandwire.com/kajabi That doesn’t mean it’s truly the best pick, since every business has their own unique needs assessment. So beyond that, I’d recommend testing out 1-2 platforms from the video and seeing which suits your needs and preferences best.
Good question! You can set the pricing to free for most platforms. I recommend double checking on the support pages of the platforms you're most interested in. Team Wit & Wire
Thank you very much for the information!🙌👏🙏 A question related to Teachable..if I upload a course and someone is buying it, do I have to issue the invoice to the client( the one who pays the course) or is Teachable the one that gives the client the invoice/receipt ? Hey Melissa! After uploading my courses on Udemy, I am making the research where to go next. Based on what you said here, I thought Teachable will be my next step but I just read the Google reviews and I must say that majority of reviews sound terrible! Do you have any thoughts?
Great question. I’ve also seen the reviews, although I’ve personally only had a positive experience as a Teachable user. I think it’s up to you to decide if the reviews change your opinion, and if yes, then a lot of the other platforms in this comparison are really excellent.
Great question. I don’t have a summary, but I know only a few have SSO options with Google. (Whether or not that would make it compatible with WordPress, I’m not sure.) So sorry!
Hi there. Thanks for your description and content. My question is I'm trying to build a course that is a mix between written content (like I would make in canva as an ebook) that has a voice over of me as they read, as well as videos. I want to upload videos of Instagram hacks that I've recorded at the end of the course. Is there a way to incorporate both of these styles in one of these courses? and which one would you recommend for that? Thank you!
Great question. It sounds like you need a platform that can have written, audio, and video content, which all of the platforms on this list can do. The lessons might look a bit different, so it likely comes down to personal preference rather than capability. I hope that helps!

Learnworlds only good for scorm? I don’t think so. it crosses off all the same boxes as the main ones you highlighted… and a few things that the others don’t do… hmmm
I don’t think they’re only good for SCORM, rather that they’re the #1 pick for anyone who definitely needs it. Other business owners may also enjoy LearnWorlds, and I agree that they have additional unique features.
Thank you! I operate a community of multiple instructors. We want to create an online course site together. Each instructor wants to open their own course and upload videos. Can you recommend a platform that provides these features?
Great question. The feature you’re looking for is usually called “Additional Authors,” “User Roles,” or “JV Partners.” Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, and ThriveCart all have the option, and likely others. I’d recommend doing more research on the exact permissions and abilities you’re looking for per platform.
Thanks for a great video. Very helpful. I've got a question about Thinkific. I've got a course created with Rise 360 and I want to put it on Thinkific. Do you (or anyone else in this comment section) know if interactive elements created with Rise 360 (like hotspots on images) will transfer to Thinkific and still work in Thinkific?
Great question. This help article seems to explain that it’s no longer compatible: support.thinkific.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030374034-Import-Adobe-Captivate-Articulate-Storyline-and-Other-Multimedia-Content-to-Your-Course
Thank you so much...one question: I want to create a large program for corporations (which possibly need SCROM)...what would you recommend? I'm overwhelmed. thank you Gaia
If SCORM is a requirement, then I’d recommend LearnWorlds (witandwire.cmo/learnworlds). But since corporations aren’t my typical target audience, there might be other platforms outside of my scope of expertise that could also be a good fit.
Great question. I’ll add the idea for a Skool review to my list, but generally, they are direct competitors with a lot of similar features to Circle. Skool’s community includes only one forum while Circle gives you multiple spaces. Skool has a leaderboard function. They definitely have differences, and I’m guessing various business owners will have their own preferences.
HI!!! So I am a professional dancer and Instructor. I teach a number of master classes online, but bc my students are global, it's impossible to get everyone there for each lesson. If one changed his mind down the road to switch from the passive income model to the community model (cirle), would it be complicated to migrate the courses between platforms?
I wish there was more info for Wix as that's where my current website is. It would be nice to keep it all in the same place so I'm not paying for multiple subscriptions. I'm okay with paying more for a larger package but to have multiple subscriptions on multiple platforms sounds exhausting.
You can use Wix’s native course creation tools. I have a few students in our program Course Builders who use it and seem happy, but it isn’t something I’ve tested myself. If you want a tool that does everything - including website, email marketing, course creation, community, and services - then Wix might be limiting.
Great question! If you'd like to have a student community, Circle: witandwire.com/circle is my hands- down favorite tool to engage with students (and help them connect with each other). You can create different Spaces for different topics, and it's much more customizable than a Facebook group. You can download it here: witandwire.com/download-course-creation-toolkit/
I believe that Thinkific sometimes removes the free plan from their pricing page to test offering free trials instead of their free forever offer. What you can do is sign up for a free trial to one of their paid plans and then they allow you to downgrade to a free forever plan if you are not ready for a paid plan yet. Team Wit & Wire
@@witandwire I believe this is not true currently. Just signed up for the free trial and followed their exact instructions for downgrading to the free plan but it instead canceled my account. Free is not an option at the moment

Great question. I know Skool is becoming popular, but my biggest issue is the fact that you can only have one community, even if you have 2+ courses. So I find it harder to use and recommend, since I know many business owners run 2+ offers that need different access levels. I talk about it more in this tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/0CLtLGsUgAI/видео.html

These prices might be nice for those already with a good flow of revenue, but for someone starting out they are a bit much. Every business seems not to realize we are already paying per month for numerous services because EVERY business as bought into the horrible subscription model. Its greed, and nothing more and frankly I'm beyond sick of it all!!!!!
Great question. Each platform is slightly different, so I’d recommend looking in their help articles (found in the footers of their websites) to check for your country’s specific tax needs.
Teachable stuffed me lol. I signed up on the original deal, basically pay as you go and for 3 years all was fine, then they sold the platform and the new owners said..Hey.. you need to upgrade or we'll shut all your courses down. So, I get oinked, didn't pay their £400 a year and they closed me down. OK..thought I, so, I went to Thinkific for a year, which was nice (and they were nice) but at £440 a year with VAT it's ultimately a tad pricey for a small operator like myself. So, now I'm looking for a new one!

have you compared these with the AI course generation platforms like coursereau? Can you see people creating a course using AI but structuring and managing with these?
Great question. I haven’t tested coursereau personally, but I know a lot of the platforms on my list have generative AI components. So I think it would depend on what you’re looking for.
Hi, the links you've provided don't work. I've inserted my email 2 times and haven't received anything yet for either the toolkit or the master class. Would be better to actually have a download option instead.
What can you suggest for my client: I provide executive coaching to C teams and senior leaders. First, I need a coaching platform that provides the latest in 1:1 and group coaching. Membership is not important. Then I have courses that support the coaching so I need an excellent course platform. Lots of those - but no one seems to have the complete package. Do you have a recommendation? I love Teachable too, but their coaching product leaves a lot to be desired. Thank you!

Any thoughts on Course Creator 360?
I truly enjoy listening to you! Thank you for sharing all of this info
Thank you! I'm so glad it was useful.
Could you please explain if the course catolag can be downloaded as a pdf file to print out or its strictly online for students to view?
Good question! Are you able to let me know which course platform you're referring to?
Team Wit & Wire
great review. obviously speaking from tons of experience. thank you.
I'm so glad this was helpful!
All these platforms look very much alike. Anyone knows if they running Moodle under the hood?
I recommend using the free trial for some of your top picks to determine which is the best fit for your needs.
Team Wit & Wire
Melissa, what would you recommend for teaching baking? I need community ,e mail marketing and 3 different tier membership options.
If you’re looking for a platform with community, email marketing, and memberships, it sounds like you’d be looking for an all-in-one platform. Our top rec is currently Kajabi: witandwire.com/kajabi
That doesn’t mean it’s truly the best pick, since every business has their own unique needs assessment. So beyond that, I’d recommend testing out 1-2 platforms from the video and seeing which suits your needs and preferences best.
Thank you for this. One question, is there a platform specifically for creating courses that are meant to be free and not for profit?
Good question! You can set the pricing to free for most platforms. I recommend double checking on the support pages of the platforms you're most interested in.

Thank you very much for the information!🙌👏🙏 A question related to Teachable..if I upload a course and someone is buying it, do I have to issue the invoice to the client( the one who pays the course) or is Teachable the one that gives the client the invoice/receipt ? Thank you so much in advance for this response !🙏🙏
Good question! You'll be able to set up student receipts and invoices yourself. Take a look at this help article for more information: support.teachable.com/hc/en-us/articles/219853067-Student-Receipts-and-Invoices

Hi Melissa, thank you for this video. I am still in the process to pick one. By the way, do you have any comment about Fresh Learn?
I’m glad it was helpful! I haven’t personally tested Fresh Learn, so I don’t have any first-hand experience to offer an opinion. But if anyone else uses it or has tested it, I’d love to hear!

Great video! Thank you for this :)
You're welcome!
Have you done a summary of which platforms support single sign on (SSO) from WordPress? Thanks!!
Great question. I don’t have a summary, but I know only a few have SSO options with Google. (Whether or not that would make it compatible with WordPress, I’m not sure.) So sorry!
@@witandwire Thanks!!
I hope that helps!
thanks! what do you think of Mighty vs Circle?
Great question.
I see, thanks! helpful to know what we're getting into ;-) @@witandwire
@@witandwire Thanks very much for responding to my question and for the link - much appreciated.
What do you think of Skool platform for memberships?
Great question. I’ll add the idea for a Skool review to my list, but generally, they are direct competitors with a lot of similar features to Circle.
Skool’s community includes only one forum while Circle gives you multiple spaces. Skool has a leaderboard function. They definitely have differences, and I’m guessing various business owners will have their own preferences.
HI!!! So I am a professional dancer and Instructor. I teach a number of master classes online, but bc my students are global, it's impossible to get everyone there for each lesson. I'm looking for a platform that I can upload and manage recorded video lessons, live lessons, with embedded video and-do media, quizzes and exams.
Which platform would you recommend... thoughts?

You're welcome! For sure, it's all about preference.
If one changed his mind down the road to switch from the passive income model to the community model (cirle), would it be complicated to migrate the courses between platforms?
Good question! Circle does have course migration support, you can find out more detail here: migrations.circle.so/
I wish there was more info for Wix as that's where my current website is.
Great video. What do you think about Ezycourse vs Systeme. I want to do a membership and the community aspect is very important
Great question!
If you'd like to have a student community, Circle: witandwire.com/circle is my hands- down favorite tool to engage with students (and help them connect with each other). Hi! did thinkific take away their free version?
I believe that Thinkific sometimes removes the free plan from their pricing page to test offering free trials instead of their free forever offer. What you can do is sign up for a free trial to one of their paid plans and then they allow you to downgrade to a free forever plan if you are not ready for a paid plan yet.
Team Wit & Wire
@@witandwire I believe this is not true currently. Just signed up for the free trial and followed their exact instructions for downgrading to the free plan but it instead canceled my account. Free is not an option at the moment

Whats your thoughts on Skool?

That’s fair feedback.
can you reccomend a EU /germany based platform for tax reasons which is still a reasonable one to start with?
Payhip. They manage your taxes.
