    Thank you for the great overview!
    The most important point for me is that the platform pays VAT to the customer's country of origin. My task now is to find out.

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  5 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome! Different checkout platforms handle VAT taxes differently, so we do have a column about Payment Processor types in our free Course Creation Toolkit: witandwire.com/coursetoolkit
      We recommend that resource as a starting point, but from there, you might choose 1-2 platforms to research further. To see their specific VAT/tax handling functionality, you can search for “VAT” in their help articles, typically found in the footer of their websites.
      Lastly, since I’m not a tax professional, my last tip is to consult with a professional in your country, since they’ll be able to offer the best guidance.

    great video so Im an author and have 5 books out. One I'm going to turn into course and create another on its own. The first 2 recommendations look to be the best fit as I want an all in one platform. Would you agree? thanks

      @witandwire  26 дней назад

      Good question! It's difficult to recommend a specific platform. I would recommend downloading our course creation toolkit: witandwire.com/download-course-creation-toolkit/ as it offers a side-by-side comparison of today's top course creation platforms. From there, take your top picks and test them in their free trial periods to select your favourite. For an all-in-one platform, we often recommend Kajabi.

    thank you so much for the great video Melissa. this is what i have been looking for. The video is 10 months old, but i reckon not much has changed in terms of your recommendations? i am a solo entrepreneur which is just starting out. i want an all-in-one platform, which makes everything easier to manage. i think kajabi looks nice, but the price for it is scary honestly. Do you feel kajabi is reasonable in what they provide of value for an online course business in terms of their pricing?
    another question for you Mellissa. i have heard people suggesting the Coursefunnel site and wordpress why wasn't these mentioned in this video?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  2 дня назад +1

      Thank you! Glad you found the video helpful. While this video hasn't been updated for 2025 yet, we do have an updated version of our Course Creation Toolkit if you're curious on which platforms Melissa has tested and recommends in 2025: witandwire.com/download-course-creation-toolkit/
      Kajabi is a great option, but if you're looking for a more budget friendly all-in-one platform, I would recommend checking out Systeme. Course Funnels is not something we've tested, if anyone has experience please share below! As for Wordpress plugins, Melissa compares LearnDash in her Toolkit.

    I"ve commented before, this is an excellent video. Thank you. I do have a question. I am a long time musician and am considering creating "how-to play" courses for guitar and bluegrass banjo. Off the top of your head is there an option that you would prefer? Or, is it a creators choice situation? Thank you again Melissa.

    • @witandwire

      Great question. It sounds like you need a platform that can have written, audio, and video content, which all of the platforms on this list can do. The lessons might look a bit different, so it likely comes down to personal preference rather than capability. I hope that helps!

    Frankly speaking the best video i have seen so far with clear and very informative options.... I just have a question, those all in one like Kajabi or thinkfic, can be integrated with your own website, i mean you use them only to create the course ?? then link this somehow with your own page ??? becuse i just started and was planning to use the other way of having my own website -worpress with LMS integrated, however i need an authoring tool that i can create the course , then upload on LMS .... I'm really confused and need your advise ... any possible way to have a consultation ??

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  2 месяца назад

      Good question! With All-in-ones you have the ability to create your website, include email marketing, and digital product creation. Currently, Melissa exclusively offers 1:1 consulting calls to students in our signature programs (as an optional paid add-on). So the best way to work with her is through one of our Wit & Wire programs, such as Course Builders or Email Engines. You can find more details about these programs here: www.witandwire.com/courses (but there’s no pressure to join).

    Thank you for this video. Im wondering, what is the best platform for Australians? Unfotunately, Teachable pays the creator in US dollars, even though we charge our Australian students in AUS. This means we lose a lot of revenue when you consider exchange rates 😞

    Melissa, what would you recommend for teaching baking? I need community ,e mail marketing and 3 different tier membership options.

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  9 месяцев назад

      If you’re looking for a platform with community, email marketing, and memberships, it sounds like you’d be looking for an all-in-one platform. Our top rec is currently Kajabi: witandwire.com/kajabi
      That doesn’t mean it’s truly the best pick, since every business has their own unique needs assessment. So beyond that, I’d recommend testing out 1-2 platforms from the video and seeing which suits your needs and preferences best.

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  11 месяцев назад

      Great question. I personally find Mighty Networks to be a bit too complicated as a member, which is why I don't usually use or recommend them for business owners. (There's a lot to click, and I sometimes feel like I get lost in loops.) They have a ton of happy customers, but I personally prefer the simplicity of Circle. I hope that helps!

    Another question, if you don't mind Melissa, the output for student of a platform like thinkful - is it interactive , like the authoring tools of Ispring, Adobe captivate ,...etc ? i really appreciate your feedback .... and once again many thanks

      Great question. I’m not as familiar with iSpring, but I think they have more interactive features than Thinkific and the options I cover in this platform comparison. But to really know for sure, I’d recommend searching for an iSpring tutorial on RUclips or browsing their website.

    I wish there was more info for Wix as that's where my current website is. It would be nice to keep it all in the same place so I'm not paying for multiple subscriptions. I'm okay with paying more for a larger package but to have multiple subscriptions on multiple platforms sounds exhausting.

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  5 месяцев назад

      You can use Wix’s native course creation tools. I have a few students in our program Course Builders who use it and seem happy, but it isn’t something I’ve tested myself. If you want a tool that does everything - including website, email marketing, course creation, community, and services - then Wix might be limiting.

    I’m looking for a course creation platform that I can also 1. sell course kits on 2. A function where a learner can submit assessments and case studies before being given access to the next course content (I will need to assess and approve first) 3. I can capture emails/email marketing. Can you recommend any please? Thanks 😊

    What are your thoughts on the Skool platform?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  11 месяцев назад

      Great question. I know Skool is becoming popular, but my biggest issue is the fact that you can only have one community, even if you have 2+ courses. So I find it harder to use and recommend, since I know many business owners run 2+ offers that need different access levels. I’ll talk about it more in an upcoming Circle tutorial, but I hope that helps!

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  11 месяцев назад

      Great question. The feature you’re looking for is usually called “Additional Authors,” “User Roles,” or “JV Partners.” Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, and ThriveCart all have the option, and likely others. I’d recommend doing more research on the exact permissions and abilities you’re looking for per platform.

      If you'd like to have a student community, Circle: witandwire.com/circle is my hands- down favorite tool to engage with students (and help them connect with each other). You can create different Spaces for different topics, and it's much more customizable than a Facebook group.
