I was working on setting up in Teachable and then they changed dramatically last year. Now I’m looking at Thinkific instead. I appreciate this video! Could you do a review of Thinkific, too?
Wow, what a fantastic tutorial!!! 🤩🎉💡 I'm so grateful for your step-by-step guidance on using Teachable 🙏👏. Your explanations are clear and concise 💬. I'm excited to create my own online course now 🎊👍. Thanks so much, Melissa! 😊👫
Hi Melissa, I have found your channels immensely helpful. One thing that particularly impresses is your crisp and clear delivery. I’m interested in the tools and preparation you do for your videos. Do you read from a script, practice, learn by heart what’s your secret? Also, in your lessons, do yo make your slides from scratch, or do you use templates or sell templates. Both would be excellent topics for future videos. Thanks 😊
Thank you! And that’s a great question. For most videos, I prep notes in advance, but I don’t read off a teleprompter. (I definitely have in the past though, and it works really well for a lot of video creators.) My favorite app is called “Teleprompter” if you have an iPhone and search in the app store. For a computer, I like witandwire.com/bigvu I recommend downloading my Video Toolkit for a comparison on my favourite tools: witandwire.com/download-video-toolkit/
Excellent Melissa Awasone🎉 a very detailed vidoe However i have 2 question 1- The out put of course is not like authoring tools with interactive options like click button - voice over the slides ?? 2- if i have a word press website connected with LMS platform ( learnpress plugin and eduma theme? - am i able to move to Teachable with my current domain and hosting and disable the MLS Appreciated alot
I'm not sure I fully understand your question, sorry! I think it is unfortunately, too technical of a question and more in-depth than we can answer well via RUclips. Melissa does provide this level of support and help via Wit & Wire’s programs, but there’s no pressure to join. (You can learn more via witandwire.com/courses.) Team Wit & Wire
Great tutorial! I'm looking forward to rewatching it once I start building my course in teachable. I would love to see your videos to know the best way to promote and market courses.
Thank you! That’s very kind, I appreciate it! To answer your question, yes, we can issue completion certificates by request, but our Wit & Wire courses don’t include any official accreditation. (The certificate would mark a personal accomplishment.)
Thanks for your wisdom. Which is the best for someone using Wordpress for the website but wants to direct their sales to a course and community platform? (My situation).
I would recommend downloading our free Course Creation Toolkit for a side-by-side comparison of today's top course creation platforms to see what works best for you! witandwire.com/download-course-creation-toolkit/
I'm loving these tutorials, very helpful in making our platform decision. I have a question about certificates. Our courses are designed for nursing continuing education (CEUs). When learners complete a course, we need to be able to issue a certificate for the training they received (which they need to provide to their state nursing board). Are Teachable or Circle able to generate completion certificates? I really like the look of Circle as a platform, and am leaning that direction due to their robust community features, but if Circle can't do the certificates I'll have to go with whatever platform can. Thanks again for you fantastic videos and thorough reviews.
@witandwire I just noticed there is a checkbox for "certificates" on your side-by-side Course Platform Comparison. So I think I got my answer. I guess I'll have to go with Teachable, or Kajabi if I want better community/social features.
Hi Melissa, Was wondering if you could comment on what % of students tend to request a refund for most online courses? (For example, mine tends to be around 5% who eventually request a refund). I always feel bummed when someone requests one.
Great question! It’s not a number most businesses share, so I’m not sure if there’s a current standard for online businesses. A lot of factors can go into it.
Hi Melissa. Do you have an episode about Course Descriptions? - In our circles we seem to need good descriptions to let people find out if our courses are what they are looking for. /( ryan)
Great question! I don’t have a video specifically on course descriptions, but I do have these two courses which include drafting a pitch (and for Course Builders, developing the full course): 7-Figure Product Suite: witandwire.com/7-figure-product-suite Course Builders: witandwire.com/courses
Hello I have a question.. I received your mini masterclass thank you so much! If I want to invite people as beta testing for my products or as a gift do I create separate course links?

hi Melissa! I'm having trouble trying to add multiple courses on my website. I'm not sure if it is considered a bundle but I wanted to sell them separately if that's possible. please help!

Everything is Teachable 😁
Agreed!

I have the teachable free plan but I have reached my limit but to upgrade it says it cost $59mo not $39. Why is mine different?
Good question! The monthly cost is $59 and $39/mo if you pay the annual fee. Hope that helps!
