If you're curious to follow along or check it out, you can create a free Teachable account here: witandwire.com/teachable (partner link)

I was working on setting up in Teachable and then they changed dramatically last year. Now I’m looking at Thinkific instead. I appreciate this video! Could you do a review of Thinkific, too?

    Hi Melissa,
Was wondering if you could comment on what % of students tend to request a refund for most online courses? (For example, mine tends to be around 5% who eventually request a refund). I always feel bummed when someone requests one.

Hi Melissa, I have found your channels immensely helpful. One thing that particularly impresses is your crisp and clear delivery. I’m interested in the tools and preparation you do for your videos. Do you read from a script, practice, learn by heart what’s your secret? Also, in your lessons, do yo make your slides from scratch, or do you use templates or sell templates. Both would be excellent topics for future videos. Thanks 😊

Thank you! And that’s a great question. For most videos, I prep notes in advance, but I don’t read off a teleprompter. (I definitely have in the past though, and it works really well for a lot of video creators.) My favorite app is called “Teleprompter” if you have an iPhone and search in the app store. For a computer, I like witandwire.com/bigvu
I recommend downloading my Video Toolkit for a comparison on my favourite tools: witandwire.com/download-video-toolkit/

Hello again..can I list course on etsy? Then route the buyer to teachable? What kind of link would I create for that?

Another great question. I shared a similar reply to your first comment, but this technical question is a bit more in-depth than I can answer well via RUclips. I do provide this level of support and help via Wit & Wire’s programs, but there’s no pressure to join. You can learn more via witandwire.com/courses.

Hello I have a question.. I received your mini masterclass thank you so much! If I want to invite people as beta testing for my products or as a gift do I create separate course links?

I'm loving these tutorials, very helpful in making our platform decision. I have a question about certificates. Our courses are designed for nursing continuing education (CEUs). When learners complete a course, we need to be able to issue a certificate for the training they received (which they need to provide to their state nursing board). Are Teachable or Circle able to generate completion certificates? I really like the look of Circle as a platform, and am leaning that direction due to their robust community features, but if Circle can't do the certificates I'll have to go with whatever platform can. Thanks again for you fantastic videos and thorough reviews.

@witandwire I just noticed there is a checkbox for "certificates" on your side-by-side Course Platform Comparison. So I think I got my answer. I guess I'll have to go with Teachable, or Kajabi if I want better community/social features.

Glad you got your answer! You can also use a third-party tool if you preferred Circle.

Hi Melissa. Do you have an episode about Course Descriptions? - In our circles we seem to need good descriptions to let people find out if our courses are what they are looking for. /( ryan)

Great question! I don’t have a video specifically on course descriptions, but I do have these two courses which include drafting a pitch (and for Course Builders, developing the full course):
      7-Figure Product Suite: witandwire.com/7-figure-product-suite
      Course Builders: witandwire.com/courses
