34 yrs old and just starting out. You gained another big fan here. There’s always that little bit of intimidation with any new adventure so watching your channel has helped immensely. Humble and most definitely inspirational. Rock on🤙
Man I appreciate you sharing that. 👊🏼
Same
Dude, 39 years old here and novice as well. Glad to see I am not the only one out there.
Hey guys I'm 54 years old I used to race BMX from 77 to about 1990 still riding hard Keep it up!
Ride with me in San Diego
Barry is a legend for what he did for Tyler Brown at the grands. He cares about others more than he cares about success
Very true 👊🏼👊🏼
Wow after 5 years of working on a BMX race bike i am still learning stuff thank you!
Awesum vid, been wrenchin on bikes n motorbikes over 35 years….i learnt alot.
This is the best bike maintenance video I’ve ever seen- thanks!
Thank you!
Barry that was PERECT!! Ive been racing and wrenching for over 30 years, maintain my 20 team racers bikes and do a lot of trackside repairs everywhere I go. Every little detail you do I try to push on all the parents at the track when they ask for suggestions. Most roll there eyes and doubt any of it can make that much difference. Every little detail adds up a lot. I use a full bottle of chain oil in a couple weeks because I cant handle the sound of dry chains. "Excuse me little bro, can I give you some free speed on your bike?"
You actually do a better job than some mechanics I've worked with in the past.LOL KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDEOS MAN, I LOVE THEM!!
Awesome video! Always digging the uploads!
Nicely done! I learned a few new wrenchin’ tricks from this. Thanks
thanks for all the tutorials. Helps a lot!
Great video! I learned a lot, especially the grease tip to reduce creaks from flex.
thank you for having a very informational video how to take care a race bike for a new rider
Yes! I appreciate this video so much!
Dude you crushed this video!! Nice work Barry!
Thanks Kyle. Maybe if I’m lucky it’ll hit 2k views 😂🤦🏻♂️
Too bad they don’t count repeat views because I’ve watched it 5 times. 🤷🏻♂️
Extremely helpful. Thanks.
Dude your my fave bro keep up the good work
Great video! Thank you 😊
Thanks very comprehensive video and that bike is nicee
First national in 10 years this is a test to see where I sit with my class see what I need to improve on so excited
Hell yea! Good luck!
@@barrynobles95 thanks man
Barry I remember Jax BMX when you shredded the chain ring. I was behind you watching.
Great video!! Thanks a ton
haha thats funny you remember that too
@@barrynobles95 it freaked me out. The first time I saw someone flip down the hill. I was so glad you were ok!!
This dude is definitely a true professional !
🙏🏼
I'm 57 yrs old. Bought a 20" Redline for $550 the other week when I was feeling nostalgic. Haven't ridden a bike since High School 1984. The Redline Asset HD is thick and reinforced. I think it was a good choice but for a much skinnier man. I plan on giving it away to my Trucking dispatch manager. Next acquisition will probably be a SE Perry Kramer Ripper 27.5" but I want the Aluminum finish. SE only has black this year. Much bigger bike. Have ridden a SE Big Ripper yet it doesn't have the BMX feel to it. Too big a tire. Have a OM Flyer 26, but it felt too small. I weigh 280 pounds. I'm working on lowering that. 30 yrs of driving truck didn't keep my high school physique. 😑
Nice vidy. Mechanic tip: where a cable is in a housing use graphite. It will lubricate without collecting grime. I've owned a few VW bugs in my time. ; )
Great video... after cleaning out the brake cable, give dry graphite powder lube a try. It works really well and will not attract any gunk.
Good to know. I have some actually but never even opened it bc I was unsure. I’ll 100% try that next round
Love your videos
👊🏼
Thanks for another vid
You’ve inspired me to start my own bmx RUclips channel!
awesome!!
Looks feather light 😍
Great video 👍🏼👍🏼
We love Slick products!
Hey thanks, finally found my creak. Grease you seat clamp!
I'd stay away from any kind of spray cleaner or oil on my bike. It just gets everywhere and it tends to be a mess. I only use Muc-Off products for cleaning and they make dry and wet lube for your chain that has suspended ceramic particles and UV fluid so after you drop 1 drip on each link you hit it with the UV light they provide and see if you got every link and also see if it got into the rollers (rollers are really where you want that lube). For cleaning my chain I used the Park Tools chain cleaner, it does such an amazing job and its super easy to contain the mess so if you're running disc breaks it doesn't get on the rotors.
This is a great video! Can you do a vid on how you made your dropouts shorter?
I love how he mentioned dirt bike riders
Thanks
Hey I just bought a race bike. What kind of tubes do I use. The sizes are 20x1.85 in the front and 20x1.60 in the back
Excellent video, homie. I saw u clean another bike w alcohol. Is it just alcohol? Shout out from Vegas!
Was a bike mechanic for years. Good stuff here. Are you using Pro-link gold? Thought I saw you use some to lube your brake cable. It’s an awesome chain lube. My go to. Take care.
Yes it is Gold. I don’t have many bottle lube so I use it wisely that’s for sure
What bike stand do you use?
Been really loving your videos!! What if you don't know how to build a bike but you do xlean your bike and just not rake it apart
cleaning it in anyways is better then not at all
What grips do you use?
what up
with the 48 peregrine rims
Pipe cleaners work good for cleaning your quick release and your cog area in case you have never tried before
I have and that just reminded me a need to pick some up!
Btw good luck this weekend hope to see you at Rock Hill . Pitter Patter get at er 💪💪
What bike stand is that?
What mucic is in your intro?
Take a look at the Park Tool Chain cleaning device, thing is a life saver, blows my mind how much grime comes out of a chain.
I’ve always wanted one of those
@@barrynobles95 it’s a game changer dude
I normally use diesel fuel to clean the chain it gets all the grime out
Where can I find the plate frames? I've looked almost everywhere and can't find them
Message @maccomponents on IG and tell them I sent you.
Just curious as to why you chose grease versus carbon assembly compound on carbon to carbon surfaces
purely bc ive been out of it and this seems to work just as good
That's funny I busted a clip on mine at a clinic with Tyler Brown.
Bro did the gta no arm glitch
Berry, thank you for teaching me a lot of tips and tricks and techniques at the PTC BMX clinic. Look forward to seeing you in Dothan. Btw I was the kid with the Terminal BMX gear with a red and yellow Fox helmet. Also coming from moto I love the SX plug. And will you be coming to any Supercross races. We are going to all three ATL SX’s
🤘🏼👊🏼
You should build a Honda Civic you'd be good at it
What’s the best gear to run? I run a 44 and I feel like I’m going know where.
Just need to get that leg speed better
it’s crazy you can learn way more here than school hahaha
😂 thank you
@@barrynobles95 thanks for doin your videos!!! keep doing them their the best videos about bmx out there!
How do you get skinny like you are? just ride more? i know i’d be able to ride better and do cooler tricks if I was lighter. I started smoking cigarettes but it’s not helping as good as I thought. Would you say just ride more kilometers each day on ur bmx?
nice vid bro 🤙🤙 are you running 46/18 gearing? cheers
46/17
@@barrynobles95 how would 50/18 compared to 44/16 gearing feel? On paper doesn't it come out equal?
I have a trick bike that I use on the bmx course my friend recently got a race bike and he was complaining that he couldn’t clear the table top so I got on it and took it for a lap I realized that his was way faster but really hard to jump why is that. he rides a Haro pro and I ride a Sunday we have about the same size
Prob bc it’s a little longer so feels harder to pull up on
this video was so handful dude and here in Colombia people spends a bunch of bucks a year in a bike mechanic because they don't know how to properly service their bikes , and I mean it isn't rocked science jajajajaajajaja
Ken Roczen is the man! Tomac can show up with a dirty bike, no one would care 🤣😂
😂🤦🏻♂️
What grease do you use?
Any “bearing grease” I have in the tool box haha
5:12 where did the cow noise come from??
Omggg he replied. Just so u know u are litterally the whole reason I'm am at the point of racing I am now
Haha milking my brake cable
How much would it cost to get a professional BMX bike like that?
I’d say roughly $2500?
@@barrynobles95 Okay thanks, I was wondering and looking for a BMX, but thank you for replying :)
i wish my bikes dirty state looked that clean, after 1 race my bikes dirtier than his bikes ever been, dusty local tracks galore
Barry are you going to Carolina Nationals?????? Please
I’ll see you there!
@@barrynobles95 siiiiiiiick.....
The days before he was on chase
😀😀
Will Barry ever Cruise ship ? 👀
As in leave Haro? Only if I were pretty much pushed away like the last. Been trying to ride for Haro since 2008 and I’m finally here. Very grateful.
@@barrynobles95 Congratulations Barry that I did not know about you is a sign that dreams are fulfilled with effort ,much success from now on.
R u going to Alabama
I’m here now!
@@barrynobles95 cool
Ugh I'm a stay at home Mom trying to learn to "tune up" my kids bike. Im scared if I take the bikes apart they'll never get put back together.
Maybe I need to make a new bike prep video!
heyybrry
Not sure I would clamp the top tube...not a mechanic, but have heard it could be a bad idea...nonetheless, love his videos and will likely go down another rabbit hole on his channel!
Your completely right and no matter the brand you should be aware of that risk. It this case. I have little to no tension. Just enough to close and let the rubber hold it in place
Manda essa BMX pra mim
forget that.... just get a new bike every year, if something goes wrong with it, your mom will take it to the bike shop.....
Can you share me your bike idol pleaaassseee🙂😍🙏🇵🇭
1:45 You’re a BMX Racer and you don’t know how a half-link masterpin works…?
6:02
😜
Nobles
So basically.... the answer to all problems is lots of grease?
Problem solved!

This video is very sus
Haha yea? What’s sus about it
