This was one of the best bike preparations I have ever seen on RUclips! Thanks man!
Thank you!!
Great hints and tricks Barry, thank you. One thing I do though, is use small zip ties on the chain ring bolts. After tightening them all, I whack a small zip tie on each going through the bolt and then around the crank arm and back again. If they do come loose, they don't fall off!
Just stumbled across this video and this got shared to my kid that is new to racing. ALOT of great info, what to look for and or listen for!
Race pedals and training pedals is a great ideal! Thanks for the tip bro! Good luck at Grands!
It is so funny how much we do the same. Me having a stock car racing background we always nut and bolted out car before every race and I do the same with my bikes. My bike never hits the track without being nut and bolted and cleaned. Bike still looks like the day I bought it.
Thank you for always sharing so much of your knowledge with us, your fans. Truly appreciate it. Very helpful. Wishing you the very best at Grand Nationals. Safe travels. ❤️
🙏🏼
Literally had my bike on the stand when this video dropped. I’m pretty excited for Tulsa, I’ll see you there!
👏🏼👏🏼
Good luck next week! Look forward to watching the livestream and seeing you do what you do! 👊🏻
💪🏼👊🏼
Awesome Barry, good luck
Just found your channel. Just want to say how much I enjoy your content. You are very motivating and the type of role model the younger generation needs. Been years since I even looked at a BMX. I raced in the early 90s. Went to the Grands in 1991 and had a blast. I love how smooth you ride.
Barry, thanks for all the great content. Best of luck at Grands!!
Thanks for the video! 👍
Great video, thank you!
I dig the energy and enthusiasm Barry! Good video! 👊
🙏🏼
awesome have fun next week
Thank you! That was super helpful lately my cranks have been creaking so I'll be cleaning them out and greasing them up soon for sure. Cheers, Barry!

Wish you best at the Grand Nationals! 🏆
Thank you for all the great in depth tips and tricks , for instance I will be switching to your maxxis tire combo ..what you said made so much sense …thx again and good luck at the grands…!
🙌🏼
Awesome Points. Good Luck in Tulsa.
Great video , I had an HT X1 pedal break as well , you can get a rebuild kit and upgrade them to the X2 springs that are a little bigger .
Love the wrenching vids. I appreciate your approach to preventative maintenance, DIY, and attention to detail (finding the places where you make the 1% difference). Consider adding assembly paste (AKA carbon paste) to your shop. I think you’d like it. It’s a great choice for those areas that you would like to add a grease film, but don’t because you need clamping friction (it’s not just for carbon). Places like left crank arm clamp, stem to steer tube clamp, etc…. I’ve found I get better/longer hold from the silica fiber and the anti-creaking/sealing effect of a grease film. Thanks again!
I was about to pack my bike as is before watching this video. Thanks for the tips! See you in Tulsa.
Go Willow!!
That hoddie is perfect for your Florida fans!!!!
Always love these videos, also you should replace the springs on you sprint pedal ht makes replacement kits
I like to put my seat clamp with the tip of the lever pointing to the back of the bike. That way my pants will not snag on it and potentially pull the lever open.
The "glaze" on new tires is actually mold release from the cast (mold) during the manufacturing process.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I started on Shimano pedals in the late 90's. They required so much maintenance and weren't reliable. I switched to time in 1999 and used those for the next 15 years with no issues.
Awesome video & all the best for Grands!
You should get a set of the HT Duo's as your sprint pedals - one side clip, one side flat 👌🏼
It's in the X3 size but a great pedal for training... you could even review them for content 😁👊🏼
Great idea thank you
Once you see that the Maxxis tires have a bunch of MMMM’s in a row, you can’t unsee it😂
Great job on the bike your truly know your bikes & what is your favorite all time bmx track ever state/city ??
Bro. Gotta get a Hambini bottom bracket.
🔥🤘
What grease do you use?
Are you adding a tiny bit of grease to your thru axels?
I noticed my seat clamp get dirty as hell after a few days to few weeks, once I had to fully clean it twice a week
We need a how to bleed the brakes video for BMX bikes
Noted!
Show 🤘☢️😎
How do you adjust chain tension?
With the 4mm bolt
Hello
Whats that alcohol/water ratio? 💥🤙🏽
Water/alcohol ratio?
4:28 but i have 0 bolts
What size gear are you running
45/17 was on the bike in this video
Barry if you want the extra 1% you should be waxing your chain. Especially as it rarely see rain.
Are you coming to grands
That a serious question?
Is a duck’s @$$ water tight?
Uuuuaaah, I can't watch this! Barry's mustache is too p.rn! 😅
💪🏽🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰💪🏽
Can I have your number plate at grands
Dumb stuff? Like your seat coming off?😂😂😂
Good Luck ! You do some of the most informative and informative packed videos. Thank you for the tips tricks and experience. Those bikes are sick. What do you do with all the old bikes after the year? I’d love to get ahold of some parts you ran even 5 yrs ago lol I’m still waiting for poverty to comeback and build a race bike I can afford lol… I got 3 kids and 2 might race next season 3,5,9. Seriously I enjoy your videos and you’re gonna kill it on race day….thanks bro
Thank you I appreciate that. They old bikes get parted out unless they have memories to them. Like that year is my title bike and this one is my worlds bike
I’d definitely keep the memorable bikes. You know the bike you win with is the biggest trophy 🏆
What about soaping your new tires ? To remove that wax film ?
I MISS THE HARO :(
