    Excellent detailed gate start vídeo I’ve racing for Intermediate for 2 years and I’ve never learned how to do the snap, I always left behind on the gate. I always thought you do a Willie on the gate, thanks for sharing this excellent knowledge.... I’ll start practicing on the track this great class. Thank so much keep up the great job and helping us to improve our riding

    Thank you for this video! I'm watching it now with a total of 14 races completed (started last year at 49, now 50). The video makes more sense now than it did when I first watched it a while ago. Thank you for explaining the whole start procedure. I cannot express strongly enough how important starts are! Thank you!! Oh, saw you killin' it at the Carolina Nationals this year too 👍😊

    Thanks Barry, you're a natural at coaching, you've hit all the details but not over complicating it either.
    I'm watching this for cycle speedway racing. I've found rolling starts at training are helping me to mentally switch from 95% effort, to that all out, 100%, technique is on autopilot mode. I learned when racing my MTB against Strava, brining the intensity is what made me fastest because the technique was already there. Thinking about lines, etc was slowing me down. Once I have that covered though I'll go back and pick apart my technique again.

    cool video on gate starts. we are both bmx dudes who are older. both adventure men. both with 7k subs. we both make bmx videos.....wild. i have not raced in 20 years. barely did it a few times at 28 years old. i do old school flatland mainly. street some and park some but i plan to race again next summer. getting a new bike. race specific. as i have 9 bikes but not race specific and new tech. i got a whole new racing outfit and helmet coming this week. cant wait to do it next summer. i will be studying this from time to time. wont get to do them till next summer. no tracks near me but i just want to go out and do it. dont plan on being super amazing. just want to have fun and do my best.

    I am in 21-30, still a tough class, but my gate is what kills me. Thank you for this, Grands is only a few weeks away and i am going for a NAG plate in cruiser, but I am lucky I have a strong second and third pedal.

    Everytime I go to pull up on my foot for the second pedal I come unclipped. I switched from crank brothers to shimano to try to help but even with the shimanos tightened all the way I still come out. Is it a pedal thing or is it a technique thing? I’ve never had unclipping problems on mtb or road bike sprints

    • @brynloveday6568
      @brynloveday6568 3 года назад +1

      Will be technique. Try adjusting cleat position. And it'll be the ankle of the foot which comes unclipped which is the problem. Keep ankles straight and drive through with them
