It’s my scent of the day! It’s still fairly cold in Quebec City… I really enjoy it. It’s as far as I will go when a fragrance smells slightly masculine.
I really like this one from BDK. Not so much their others. The cardamom opening is stunning. And the overall tea accord is pretty good. I don't remember smelling fig, so I'll focus on that note next time. I also think their bottles are priced right. Thanks Henna.
Your videos are always so relaxing to listen to/watch. Gris Charnel, on my skin, really emphasizes the fig note to my nose, which is not my favourite thing. My husband loves it on me, and I almost bought a travel size of it just to make him happy 😂. Still might do it.
@@CanadianBeautyBlog found my decant from H Parfums and it smells different on me today than a year and a half ago. Getting more sandalwood and tea. It’s soothing.
I agree with you, I found that gris charnel was more masculine than I imagined (on me). With all the hype it got, espacilly from women, it was not what I was expecting. I was looking for a tea fragrance and ended up prefering molecule 1 + black tea to gris charnel. The salesperson looked insulted by my preference lol
My experience with Gris Charnel …I did succumb to positive online reviews and blind bought this, ahem, lol. This was just after release a few years back. I didn’t end up wearing it as much a I thought I would and sold it for a great price. Fast forward to 2024 and found myself craving it again so yes I did buy another and am going to keep it this time as I really love it now! Funny how things turn out…☺️ Does anyone else get a coconutty vibe from it or is it just me?
Hi Henna, I tried Gris Charnel several times but it didn’t work for me. I get a chemical shoe polish smell in the opening that doesn’t go away. It’s probably the black tea note. I struggle with tea notes in general. Nevertheless, I enjoyed your review!

Fairly cold in Calgary too and I would totally wear it in today’s weather. Snowed a bit today too 🙊
I was late to the party too but it’s amazing 10/10
Better late than never! It’s still niche so most people will have never heard of it!
@@CanadianBeautyBlog yes your right

I agree, not mad about the price. Seems similar to a lot of other niche out there.
Gris Charnel lasts forever on me and it's one of my most complimented fragrances so it really projects.
It's such a cool fragrance.
It’s so good.
I'm out of touch with so many recent fragrances but your description makes me want to give it a go. I'll keep you updated.
Please do!

Maybe it will grow on you like it did on me! Honestly, I don’t think a bottle is out of the question for me. I need to come back to it.

@mamoni7703 nice! Is it because it’s winter now?
@@CanadianBeautyBlog maybe? Or the liquid has matured and taken on different characteristics I may not have noticed before?
I never made the link between GC and DHI but I love both and that’s very interesting, im gonna have to conpare both.! Good review!
Thanks! It’s not immediately obvious but somewhere in the mid it’s like 💡
@@CanadianBeautyBlog finally gave it a try, and this time I only smelled the sandalwood (the one I can’t stand anymore) late in the drydown.. :(
@stephanenoel5761 oh well…

😭 and most women wouldn’t try Dior Homme Intense. I need to try the Molecule scents.
I ordered decants of Gris charnel & the extrait version so I can decide which one I’m gonna grab a full bottle of!
Nice! Report back, if you can!
@@CanadianBeautyBlog Ok so the extrait version has this addition of a smoky, woody vibe which I don’t necessarily hate, but I prefer the original edp!
@annarozhko3964 thanks for the update! I smelled in store and I thought they were both different enough for me to justify both.
@@CanadianBeautyBlog I agree!

I get that coconut. It’s like *blink* and it’s gone.

Dior Homme Intense, ehh?! I did not know that. 🙏
I was surprised too!
I order ir but not received yet. Has anyone tried BDK nuits de sable?
Not me.
I'm not a fan of Gris Charnel. It smells harsh and masculine on my skin
It’s pretty masculine, I will admit. It kind of grew on me.
