Just purchased my CZ... and needless to say but my Glock and S&W are about to gather some serious dust because this gun is BEAUTIFUL
Congratulations on your new gun. What CZ did you get..
Lol I have a Glock 19 and MP shield rn and on the fence about this one , guess I know now
Just bought one, coming from two glocks. I will never own other gun than CZ. It's just perfect.
How incredibly gratifying to read this. It is so-o-o-o tedious to listen to the blandishments of the Tupperware devotees. They are like Vegans in their raging.
CZ are good firearms
The CZ 75C is my 1st gun & I love it.
CZ are my favorite guns……and yes, I own two GLOCKS including the G19! CZ’s are very comfortable for me, very nice trigger and “Beretta” quality. I currently have the CZ 75
COMPACT as well as a CZ P10C Compact Carry, love both!
Poor and ignorant people only
Own glocks. Smart respectful gentleman own CZs
This is a lovely looking handgun. Somehow, shrinking the CZ75 has made it prettier!
This is a tack driver. Very small recoil and super balanced. And it is all metal. Nothing beats it, not Glock not any other.
As a Glock fan I approve this message
I carry this gun everyday, hammer down, never had an issue!
I love the aesthetic older pistols have. Modern guns have many improvements but the blocky look is a bit boring.
I TOTALLY agree. Aesthetics are important. I don't want to carry a piece of Tupperware.
striker fire sidearms def have fallen off the branch of the ugly family tree. old school always
Glocks are a cheaply made , reliable gun that goes bang . What else is there to say , without getting into a lot of dumb dribble ?
You speak well. You don't overstate anything, or explain the obvious, which I appreciate. Keep making videos. Well done.
Just got one of these...very impressed - heavy duty and accurate - little to no recoil.
Just purchased a 75 compact, waiting my ten day cool down period, excellent video, very informative, right to the point, thank you!
I own this gun and love it. I just put my thumb between the hammer and firing pin to lower the hammer into double action. It's 100% safe. Your thumb is literally blocking the firing pin... that's how revolver shooters did it for years. I don't understand why this has become a lost skill even with older shooters. No one should be in fear of lowering their hammer. It's not a dangerous operation. Worst thing that will ever happen is a pinched thumb.
Fee_ Lo I have a question could I use it for concealed carry I'm looking for a gun for concealed carry
Also, with the hammer cocked and blocked by your finger Press the trigger a quarter inch just to release the hammer then let go of the trigger and the hammer will go down to the half cocked safe position on able to strike the firing pin
I have this and the full size if you read the manual it actually has three firing pin safeties and when you lower the hammer all you have to do is release the trigger and it stop at the half cocked position which is the same position it would be in if you had the decocker version . I always lower it down all the way and you just release trigger and lower it down it will not go off unless you keep the trigger depressed
I own the SP-01 safety model. I would put my support hand thumb between the hammer and the firing pin, pull the trigger to allow the hammer the move forward, then remove the trigger finger. I then lower the hammer slowly with my thumb on the shooting hand. Because my finger is away from the trigger, the firing pin is lock and cannot ignite the primer.
You can't blame people these days. When you are dumbed down with striker fired pistols whose triggers feel like one of those old suction cup dart guns, common sense is lost.....
This was my first gun. I bought it in 2010, and it's been great for me. It's got its pro's and con's like any gun, but it has been very high quality for me.
Awesome gun! Just too heavy for me to concealed carry daily.
Very nice presentation! I just picked up my CZ today, and am very impressed with the fit and finish!
Thank you.
Those are actually mec gar magazines, thats how my compact came out of the box. Factory magazines have flat steel bottoms and are 14+1.
I have always loved my CZ 75B full size pistol, it is an exceptional pistol. I recently sold my M&P Compact which had been my daily conceal carry pistol. Since then I have switched to my most recent find, a CZ 75D PCR for my daily conceal carry. It shoots awesome, maybe not quite as good as its big brother CZ 75B but still very accurate and about 1/4 pound lighter than the standard compact as the PCR model has a forged aluminum frame.
U made a very good decision man.
Funny I did the same
@@biggbbear6300 Love mine too!
The discrepancy between the stated capacity of 14 vs your mag's 15 is because that is actually a slightly-extended magazine. The flush-fit magazines with only a thin, flat, steel baseplate - like I got when I bought mine new - are 14, and are not marked for 40 S&W. The one you have there is probably one they ship with a few different models of their guns and so they've marked it for both calibers.
I did not notice the sight on mine until I watched your video but mine also was canted to the left. I did change mine out to the orange front and green rear. They show up a lot better now for these aging eyes of mine.
Just bought this pistol tonight (09/30/18). I am looking forward to my first CZ. I am used to double/single action firearms. Been shooting Sigs (P226 9mm) for a while. Thanks for unload.
I've been carrying the CZ 75 Compact for about a year now. The pistol fits my hand like nothing else I've ever held - and this includes more than just handguns. The recoil is extremely manageable, even in a small-framed 9mm due to its steel frame, as if the whole firearm is just a miniature AR15 that fits in your hand. While there are lighter versions of the CZ 75 platform out there, the regular "Compact" model is not too heavy to carry. Paired with some nice Marshal grips (which took about 6 months to arrive), the CZ 75 is an absolute beauty - both from an aesthetic and a "shootability" standpoint. It is one of the best purchasing decisions I have made in my entire life.
P.S. I carry it with the hammer at half-cock and cock the hammer as a part of my draw (mostly due to the retention strap on my holster preventing me from carrying "cocked and locked"). My philosophy on double action triggers on a semi-auto is that they are an "emergency option" for shooting one-handed; otherwise, I always cock the hammer and then utilize the safety if I do not need to shoot.
Lowering the hammer to half-cock is not difficult to do safely; just keep the handgun pointed in a safe direction, block the hammer travel with your finger, then let go of the trigger once the hammer starts to move.
Love this gun. Mine also shot to the left when I first shot it. Once I adjusted the sites grouping was tight. Great firearm.
The most insane part about this pistol is the price durring a normal market. If sig made this exact firearm it would be no less than 1200
CZ has always been reasonable priced except Shadow
What was the price when things were normal?
@chad kaminski sounds like a good deal to me
@@teelowteelow356 Some gun prices are about 200% (twice) the normal sale price at the moment. I'm guessing a Sig in this model would be around $600 to $875 new

Really Good Video. I have the 'cheap' version of it. It is a Tristar C-100 in .40 S&W (Canik -made @ a NATO approved factory in Turkey as a CZ-75 Clone) but it is identical to the CZ-75 Compact to point where most parts would probably could be swapped. In fact, the magazine you were showing is identical to mine and every single pin seems to be identical and at the exact same position. I know for sure Grips and sights are compatible and the DA/SA trigger works exactly the same.. Got it for $280 because the previous owner complained that racking the slide was difficult to do (had less than 50 rounds through it). Machining is very clean (better than the CZ-75 Compact). I put around 800 rounds and had zero malfunctions even with very cheap ammo. I though about replacing the recoil spring with something softer but then I learned this heavy recoil spring helps with taming the recoil and also with reliability. Decided to keep it. The weight makes it very easy to tame the .40 S&W (it feels more like a 9mm). I'm not a big person but surprisingly, carrying it concealed IWB is very easy to do.
Thank you. I have heard good things about the Tristar guns, they do seem to be reliable.
This is the most comfortable gun I have ever held in my hand. Like it was made to fit my hand.
The pcr and p01 are even better with their factory rubber grips and upswept beaver tail.
Yep. Everyone concludes the same thing as soon as they pick one up. They're wonderful
Great gun,and verry accurate even at 25meter!!
Freaking hell that's a sexy gun
Thank you for the great video, I just bought mine and I’m so happy yo be in the cz family
I love my 75 compact. It is my every day conceal and carry
is this good for a newbie? good for home protection?
@@sanitary103 Yes it is. Very durable and reliable. Its a all steel pistol. I have shot 2,500 rounds threw it and not one problem
@@sanitary103 You can get so many after market parts and accessories
Bob DiNovo awesome thanks! Not much inventory in California so this was one of the options.
@@sanitary103 I love just about all CZ products
I have the 75B and it's by far my favorite hand gun. I like to get a 75 compact to conceal and carry
Just recently picked one up while looking for the more common glocks, S&W, etc. Thought I made a mistake as a first gun, but I really like the feel and I've heard great things about the CZ platform. Just wished there was more option here in CA, but I'm looking forward to getting an SP01 next if I find one.
I tried this one and the aluminum-framed PCR, and ended up with the latter because 1) it's lighter (by a barely-noticeable 4.5 oz); 2) it's got better ergonomics (rubber grips OOB, serrated front and backstraps, serrated trigger); and 3) it's got that decocker so I can carry it with the hammer at the first notch.
For being a compact version, this gun is much more accurate than I am. I shoot pretty well with a full-sized G17, but this little guy makes me look really good!
An alternative to the this gun is Tristar's C100, an imported Turkish clone. I have all three models of the C100, (380, 9mm and 40S&W). The 380 and 40's are no longer imported. It took a few years before a new 40S&W showed up and when it did, I jumped on it. These C100's are superbly accurate. The C100 with the alloy frame and 15+1 capacity is in my carry rotation and is one sweet shooting 9mm. The 40S&W is an all steel frame and is somewhat heavy but the slide mates with the 9mm alloy frame and that combination converts it into a slick and very powerful 40S&W EDC. As stated in the video, the magazine is the same for both calibers.
Allow me to educate you on how the hammer positions are intended to be used (as a proud owner of a Shadow 2).
Never EVER attempt to lower the hammer by either pinching the hammer between your index and thumb, or by thumbing the hammer down slowly. Each one has the potential for slippage.
When ready to fire:
1) Use the thumb roll technique by putting your left thumb between the hammer and slide (the right edge of your left thumb should be facing you).
2) Press the trigger and immediately RELEASE it.
3) Roll your thumb towards the muzzle (counterclockwise) to bring the hammer to half cock.
After you finish shooting, on an empty chamber:
1) Use the same thumb roll technique.
2) Press and HOLD the trigger back.
3) Roll the hammer all the way down.
Handling your CZ75 this way makes a ND virtually impossible.
I have the cz75 compact 9mm also and have a glock 19 9mm to and gotta say I like the Cz a little better super accurate love the way it shoots
I am lucky to be a owner of this Pistol
When u really think about it, we're blessed to be able to access firearms from all over the world. Golden age of small arms.
Same here
Just bought one and absolutely love it. Very little recoil which was more accurate than my previous Beretta 9mm.
Good to hear. I’m a big CZ guy but I’ve been thinking about adding a 92 FS
Both my Beretta 92's came new from the factory shooting left. I couldn't figure it out, until I seen barrels on both guns are tilted slightly to the left. If you look at the guns from the top view you can see there is more room on the right side of the slide, and the barrels show more wear to one side. I looked this up and apparently it's a common problem with the 92 platform, but many claim it doesn't affect performance. I'm going to sell mine and go back to CZ's.
@@tuffguy6852
I bought a Beretta92FS back in the 1990s & didn't have that problem with it or any other issues sold it a long time ago & bought another one last year in July & this new one was shooting way low like 10" below the bullseye then I ordered the Wilson combat .290 rear sight & that solved the issue now it's where it's supposed to. I just thought it was weird how the old one didn't shoot low but the new one did.
This pistol shoots amazingly smooth.
Late to the party, but I was surprised that Hammer Striker was not aware of the other CZ 75 Compact, the alloy frame PCR, when he did this review. I have one. My only complaint are the relatively small sights.
Such a beautiful pistol. I have the Canik / Tristar C100 clone of this gun and love it! What I like about the C100 is that I CAN have the safety on with the hammer down.
It's a beauty. Thx for showing
I just bought the SP-01, a GREAT all steel gun as is the 75 &75 compact. Hand position on striker guns is almost always higher with a lower bore axis but not much difference here.. The 75c may be my next CZ.
I don't know why there not more videos of the cz compact.i got mine like 3 weeks ago and took it out to the range and put 300 rounds through it and ran like a boss hitting my targets easy.my first cz and not my last!I like my guns to last year's and years. I chose the metals spoon over the plastic spoon..cz all the way
This gun is a lot of fun to shoot and has been very reliable.
i have it, and personally love this gun, a bit heavy but spot on !
When you fire it, that little extra weight is good.
You’re the first one I’ve heard say CZ had sub-par machining. You must have gotten one made on Monday morning after the Beerfeist Festival weekend!
I ran into a guy at the range that had a CZ compact that he had converted to single action only. Coming from a long line of 1911 shooters I really appreciated it the way he changed it. I’m uncertain of the trigger manufacturer. I’m definitely going to get one.
Why? If you get a light strike and round doesn't go off a DA can give it another shot
Awesome gun. The weight is worth it! My EDC!
I have to say I am really enjoying purchasing steel models again. I have so many wonder plastics that I am bored with them. My problem is I seem to pretty much be picking up a few 9mm's . I have this CZ , I purchased an actual Browning Hi Power. I already have an HK P7 that I have had for years. And I last year purchased a S&W 5906. I really need to find some new calibers. But I have so many covered. Right up to my highly abusive 4 inch S&W .500 magnum . I am after a .460 S&W magnum though. When I get that I am selling my 454 I have had for years.
Anyway back to CZ's I really really like the CZ pistols mainly the 75's and have owned several over the years. Way back when everyone was hitting the Oregon trail with our covered wagons ( according to the younger whipper snappers who consider me that old )had a race gun built off of a CZ frame.
These are really nice if you like the weight. And the rails being within the frame the tolerances are just awesome.
This was my first CZ. Great shooter but I prefer decockers. I then purchased a CZ 75 Compact PCR, which is my favorite CZ. Lighter and has a decocker. There is nothing wrong with the original compact in general, but I prefer the PCR. I ended up trading in my 75 compact and two other firearms to get a CZ SP01 Phantom, which is awesome as well. To be honest, the 75 series hands down has the best feeling grip bar none.
Do you have a holster recommendation for the 75 PCR?
311hitwall Alabama Holsters is what I use for concealed carry.
Do you have any issues with hollow points feeding properly? I heard Euro guns were not designed to handle them because they are not commonly used in Europe.
@@hugostiglitz9864 I’ve never had any issues so far. BTW, I’ve also added a CZ RAMI sub compact to the mix. To be honest, the only problem I encountered was a failure to eject on a 1911, which turn out to be a bad extractor. An easy fix and problems since.
Unsafe the way you let the hammer down. Should put your thumb between the hammer and the firing pin, pull & release trigger.
I love mine. One in the chamber, hammer down. Not a scary deal to lower the hammer, just be aware of what you are doing. Good review. It is a little heavy/large for CC, but it is certainly do-able. I carry my RAMI for the most part.
The amount of panzies so scared to manually decock it is hilarious.
The PCR is the same gun with a decocker instead of a safety. I love mine
I purchased a CZ 75 D PCR and I LOVE mine. Feels good in my hand. Love the fit. My 1st CZ and haven't been disappointed. Have owned several 9 mm and this is the best that I have owned.
I just bought the 75D compact, can't wait to bring her home!
I got one last week
1:17 I could be wrong, but I believe that's a MECGAR magazine. The blue follower gives it away AND MECGAR makes the OEM magazines for both CZ and Berretta. And what is even more interesting to note is that mag may just fit either the CZ75 Compact or the Beretta 92 series.
The Beretta 92 is 9mm and the 96 is .40 cal. The MECGAR OEM magazines WILL fit in both the 92 and the 96, which is what this mag can hold either.
Just ordered one online and looking forward to shooting it. I intend to keep mine in the same condition as my 1911, cocked and locked. The most likely firearm to be used in an emergency is the Springfield XD 45, grip safety (no manual one) and a light on the rail.
A CZ-75 has been on my list, I'm just waiting to happen on one at a decent price to buy. In the meantime, I've had an EAA Tanfoglio Witness for about 6 years. Honestly, it's a great cz clone that I've been perfectly happy with. It takes CZ-75 mags, as well my KelTec sub 2000 g2 which takes the cz mags. Like I said, if I happen upon one at the right time/price, I'll buy the it then. Doesn't everyone want a real CZ?
This weapon is THE one if you want to pretend you're a Cold War Soviet or Eastern European agent. I got mine along with a trench coat and a snap brim fedora and play Oscar Homolka when the range isn't crowded.
Do you happen to have a neck beard to go with that fedora as well?
@@outerspaceman7534..actually, no. Truth be told, I cannot personally stand facial hair. It itches. That's why I would like make a miserable secret agent.
But, that said, Oscar Homolka was clean-shaven! So there!
My CZ75 compact is in my EDC rotation AND A PRIORITY. It is a dream EDC on all counts..that and my Sig P229 SAO are my go to 9mms. ❤😂🎉
Those mec-gar mags are useable in the P-06 which is the .40 version of the P-01 which is an updated version of the 75 compact.
I’ve got a straight single action only trigger on mine, and it’s an amazing pistol. Daily carry
Who makes that trigger?
Weird, my CZ compact also had the sight off to the left, kinda funny that it seems to be a common problem for the compact. Love the gun still
I bought this gun about 2-3 months ago and it has an outstanding finish and fit. Besides two wheel guns I own, this is the only all metal semi-auto handgun I own and quite frankly, I consider it "heirloom" quality - something to hand down to your children. Just a very beautiful firearm. As Hammer Striker indicated, this gun shoots straight and is a very soft shooter. The low bore axis due to the slide riding inside the frame, coupled with the weight of this gun, makes this gun a tack driver. Only my Beretta PX4 Storm approaches its accuracy. If I had a complaint, it's in regard to racking the slide, i.e., it is very difficult to get a grip on the slide due to the small "real estate" serrations.
Regarding the review, excellent job . . . The reviewer is articulate and went over everything you need to know in detail. I actually, had to pull this gun out of my safe to check the sights when he mentioned his were off a bit (but mine were fine). I do have a question - I am thinking about buying the CZ 75 P-01 . . . Is this redundant? I already know that it is lighter due to being made of an aluminum alloy. What differentiates this gun with the Compact? Again, thank you for this review!
Did you ever get the P-01? I was just thinking the same thing and was wondering if it was redundant to have both.
No, I didn’t get it. I still love my Compact a lot.
this & the pcr are the two best carry da/sa 9mm pistols ever made
Is PCR basically the same thing but with alum frame?
I have the sp01 with the manual safety and I do prefer a double action on the first shot over a manual safety but if you practice riding the hammer up you will find the serrations on the rounded Hammer to be very very positive...in ideal condition. That being said I keep a sig229 by the night stand now 😁 but at least the safety is easy to reach unlike a m9 and very positive.
Just picked mine up today... Ready to fire it, perhaps Thursday of this week.
How was it
I miss my full size 16+1 4.6"
this is next
My cz75 compact D came with two metal magazines.
Love the rami!
Love mine
The stars really were aligned when CZ released the 75 compact. I had an aluminum framed clone from Tristar, the C100, built by Canik. It was phenomenal.
I just commented about this pistol. I saved a couple hundred and bought the Tristar. LOVE it! (Still would like to have a CZ in the future)
Bought 0ne yesterday from Buds, can't wait to shoot it
Ronald Renken You will not be disappointed
I just bought this gun last night!
FYI: The magazines do show 9mm on one side and 40 S&W on the other because the gun was marketed by Tristar as the model C100 in 9mm, 40 S&W and 380. (The 380 magazine is the 9mm with a spacer so the 380 rounds fit snuggly otherwise they would have a gap between the tip of the bullet and the magazine front wall.) Tristar no longer shows the 380 nor the 40 S&W on their web site. I have all three calibers with C100 on the slide. The 40 S&W is actually a clone of the PCR-01 where the 380 and 9mm models are clones of the CZ75 Compact. Regardless of caliber or which gun it clones, these are terrific pieces. My 9mm and 40 S&W are carry pieces where the 380 is a range gun.
My brother has one and loves it!
The safest way to decock I've found is not to pinch with the left hand, because it's very easy for it to slip. You should use your right thumb and wrap it completely over the top of the hammer then pull the trigger. Once the hammer gives just a little bit, remove your finger from the trigger, as this re-engages the firing pin block. Once your finger is off the trigger, you can safely lower the hammer, because the FP is blocked unless the trigger is fully depressed. Although technically you could let the hammer go after your finger is off the trigger, you should still slowly lower the hammer because letting it slam into half-cock might not be the best thing for your hammer over thousands of repetitions. This is true of standard CZ-75s and Beretta 80- and 90- series handguns. I am not sure how the firing pin block works on other handguns and will not speak on them.
I love that little green barrel optic light. I've never seen one like that, that's really kool.
I own a CZ just the one in the video and love it.
That bore light was given to us by our friends over at Guns Galore. It is a Birchwood Casey 41502 and can be found on Amazon and other online sites if you are not near Guns Galore.
CZ makes great guns.
My local gun shop, Larry’s Pistol and Pawn, have containers of them. They have given me a couple of them.
I just bought a CZ-75 Compact (June 2020).
On the up side:
1) The gun is well made. Very good quality and workmanship. I haven't fired it yet but have no doubt it should be accurate.
2) High capacity of 15 round magazines. Two are included.
3) Low recoil due to it being very heavy (see #2 below).
4) Although it doesn't have night sights per se, it has fluorescent dots on the sights which glow dimly. They can actually be seen in a dark environment with night adjusted eyes.
On the down side:
1) The gun is bulky and anything but compact.
2) With the steel frame, it is very heavy.
3) Grip is very large. I don't have a problem but someone with smaller hands would find it difficult.
3) This version is SA/DA without a decocker. DA trigger pull is very hard. I will measure the exact amount of force (in lbs) at some point but it's a lot. I am no wimp but I find I must use both index fingers to pull the trigger in SA mode. The best way to carry it would be in SA mode keeping it cocked and locked.
BTW: He's right. They have sooooo many versions that it's hard to know what you are buying.
Great gun... I was looking at one yesterday...
To quote Tuco in one of the spaghetti westerns, "If you're going buy, buy, don't look!"

@@warplanner8852 I got a sig instead... still considering getting that CZ

Great pistol but the 75d PCR is the way to go if you want to edc! Only difference is the decocker and alloy frame.
Have you done a comparison between this and the PCR? If not, is there any chance you will? I enjoy how detailed your comparisons are, so I would love to see one between these two guns.
Unfortunately I don't have a PCR but if I come across one I would do so.
Love my cz-75C
DONT TAKE MY HAMMER MAN! DONT TASE ME BRO!
Totally safe to carry hammer down round in the chamber just a little dangerous when lowering the hammer on a chambered round but just have to use more caution keep pointed in a safe direction and use caution people have been doing his for years.
I’m looking at picking one of these up maybe
If your model has a firing pin block, a safer way to lower the hammer is by jamming your thumb between the hammer and the firing pin, then pulling the trigger to drop the hammer onto your thumb, then releasing the trigger, and then rolling your thumb out, allowing the hammer to rest on the firing pin block
Too bad they don’t make the compact in brushed stainless with night sights highlighted for daytime use too. Nice gun though!
There is indeed a decocker version CZ Rami BD. Some reviews have demonstrated it. One commentator thought the trigger was better in the safety version vs the decocker lever.
You are correct that the RAMI Decocker does exist. However that is a "SubCompact" (Glock 26 ish) where as this one is a Compact (Gock 19 ish). I am not aware of a Decocker Version of the "Compact".
Have this gun and love it. As good as it gets for a review, nice job
Hammer Striker My apologies, you are quite correct,..my bad!
@@HammerStriker It does exist as the CZ75BD (D for decocker). You may have to find it on the used market.
Thanks for another informative review. I had the CZ PCR and really liked it. I sold it last year and regret it. Cheers!
Thank you.
Just picked up a pcr after a 12 month wait. They are very hard to find, at least in my area. I don't think i'll ever get rid of it. Its extremely fun to shoot and acruet.

SCRAMBY18 I regret selling mine.
@@SCRAMBY18 don't you dare. It's awesome lol I have one with Hogue g10 grips and night sights from Cajun Gun Works. Night and day beleive me.
For anyone like me who was frustrated that they don't make the flush-fit, 14-round magazines anymore, the extended RAMI magazines will work if you swap out the plastic baseplate for a metallic one.
Would definitely carry that.
Beautiful and awesome this one is a treasure to keep it forever My congrats also a vey good review.
Thank you.
...Okay, so the safety takes the firing pin out of alignment with the hammer, bur does it lock the trigger? I'm asking this because I can't figure out from your demonstration whether it is possible to manually decock the pistol with the safety engaged. That would be SO cool! Can it be decocked as such? I'm guessing "No" as I figure you would have demonstrated that...
That first sear location on the hammer is for safety like a 1911, not to have it de-cocked. The models with the de-cocker have a different hammer.
Hi !
Very good review.
I like Your channel.
About safety way to lower the hammer with no decocker...
There is the safe way.
Hold the gun with your right hand on tne grip, regular way. Before pulling the trigger to lower the hammer, put your left thumb with the entire pulm on top of the slide, when your left thumb pointing to the rear on the gun, near the rear end of the slide. Insert your first joint of the left thumb between the hammer and the back of the slide. Now pull the trigger , simultaneously holding the hummer with your right thumb.
Even if your right thumb slips and the hummer is free to fall down, the left thumb prevent it from the touching the firing pin.
I use this method for more than 20 years, and I prefer hammer pistols on striker ones.
Thank you. The steps you detail are great steps to follow if you want to carry this hammer-down. One more to add, make sure that as soon as the sear breaks and you can move the hammer that you release the trigger. This ensures that any internal drop safeties are re-engaged before the hammer puts pressure on the firing pin. This is the part that can go wrong and not be noticed as the pressure of the hammer can push the pin forward enough to prevent the safety from re-engaging and leave you exposed to a drop-fire.
Nice review
Thank you.
The difference in round count and the .40/9mm sides is, you mag is not a CZ mag. It's a Mecgar aftermarket sight. Hence the Mecgar blue follower. It has a special spring and floorplate to add one extra round yet keep it flush fitting.
Thanks for that info, these are the mags that came with it new and actually have the CZ logo on them (instead of the Mecgar logo).
@@HammerStriker I understand that CZ makes their own mags for the basic 75 models. I've only found unmarked steel floorplate mags mentioned by CZ. Blue followers is a trait on some new upper end CZ mags and all Mec-Gar aftermarkets. I find it interesting that you feel the slide rail edges are rough and tool mark abound. I first thoughts on getting mine were, wow this reminds me of my West German Sig's. It has a air of old world craftsmanship. Sort of Teutonic especially on the inside.
@ 1:35 not aware... actually there is a 40 cal version available it has SKU number 01197 it is the CA compliant version but it is no longer listed on the 2018 catalog.
mich685 Cz po6 was 40 cal.
I've got a 2011 PCR with the 14 round mags. Are the base plates on these 15 rounders made of plastic?
Can you pull the trigger to release the hammer, release the trigger to disable the firing pin, and then lower the hammer?
That sounds a little safer but yeah I still want a BD decocker model
Nice gun, love CZ but I would prefer the lighter CZ PO1, which also has a rail for a light, for carry. I believe some CZ comes with Mepro-liteTru Dot night sights an Israeli company.
Hey Matt still like the PCR ? Would you buy it again. It’s on my radar !
Another great review. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
Is a CZ75D compact drop safe with the hammer in the forward position with a loaded chamber for carry?
Nice.
would you be able to pocket carry this thing or can you try it out and report back? thanks
My safety does engage in 1/4 cocked position. It's a 2018 model.
So does mine, 2018 model as well.
