ZFlyingVLover I own many CZ weapons both rifles and handguns. They make good weapons just like a dozen other companies do. There’s too many nice weapons out there to limit myself to one brand.
The CZ 75 Compact is indeed beautiful, accurate, and reliable. My mother carries that specific model, my father owns a CZ P01 and a CZ Shadow, and the CZ P07 (kind of like a modern but polymer version of the CZ 75 Compact with a worse trigger) was my first conceal carry gun ever. The trigger return spring breaking and needing to be replaced way before they should on the CZ 75 Compact (never dry fired it unless it was to make sure the gun was assembled correctly after a good cleaning) was the only issue my family ever had with any CZ handguns. I would honestly trust any CZ gun with my life. While I have chosen other conceal carry handguns (a Kahr PM9 and now a Springfield Hellcat), CZ has a special place in mine and my family's heart. If my sister never bought me a Beretta 92X Performance for my birthday, a CZ Shadow or Shadow 2 would have been my competition gun as well. CZ just makes amazing handguns.
Absolutely Fantastic Review! I'm a guy who like Steel Guns and for once somebody didn't just say the CZ 75 Compact weighs too much to carry. I guess I'm the kida guy that likes Mechanical watches with moving parts that requires more attention to keep in running order but if you do it lasts forever. I love this all Steel gun and I'm sure if attention is given it will last forever for my son. This gun is a great piece of history and made to carry. It just feels like a gun and not a piece of Plastic!
Bought a Compact today after carrying the full size 75 lo these many years. Your videos had a big influence. I plan to get the compact Cajunized after i put a few hundred rounds through it.
If you're like me and were frustrated that they no longer make the flush-fit, 14-round magazines, the extended CZ RAMI magazines will work if you replace their plastic baseplates with metallic ones.
1:15 Actually in 2017 Glock design was 31 years old. CZ 75 was 42 years old. So if people question the age of the design of a firearm it's not a valid issue. In fact, they are probably younger than their preferred design.
I carry that 30 year old platform for the same reasons others carry that 106 year old platform called the 1911. I have one in all black, I put G-10 snake skin pattern grips, and Tru-Dot night sights. I am doing the best pistol shooting of my life with it. I am even doing good out to 17 and 25 yards. And when, I say good I mean keeping it all within the 9, and center ring on 8 and 6 inch targets at the previously mentioned distances. I am not as good with my other pistols (I won't mention them to avoid offending the tender hearted fan boys) all of which are still good guns. I have been thinking of a trigger job on it as well.
Lough Sun the trigger job will help your DA consistency for sure. They are great pistols no question. Get some sights and grips you like and let it eat!
I Watched the video, I went in gun store to buy cz 75 compact... and i end up with cz97b in 45acp, don't ask why, but I feel in love with the gun. And yes, the are diametrically different guns, but they have CZ quality. I put french walnut grips from grips4u, they look great. But, my god!!! cz97b is biiiig and heavy gun. Btw, great video.
I don't mind the heft. I choose my firearms to have maximum effect if I hvae to use them, that easy practical accuracy and brilliant hosing if I need it.
I agree. While I hope to never have to fire my sidearm in self defense or in defense of another, I do shoot it at the range and shootability is a high priority criterion. More heft means less recoil and thus better precision. And, only a wimp would complain about carrying an extra 10 oz. With a quality belt and holster you'll find yourself forgetting you are carrying your 75 Compact.
Sig fanboy here. Just picked up a 75D PCR. Phenomenal performance from the CZ. Replaced the front sight, but other than that it's box stock. This thing is a straight shooter, easy to carry, ergonomically perfect, intuitive manipulation of the controls, and aesthetically pleasing. It's everything a block 19 wishes it was.
I must add, I personally have always been a "Germanophile" an HK, SIG, Walther snob. And occasionally I get a higher end 1911 or 2011 that I can't let go. So I always not necessarily looked down on CZ guns but never jumped on one. That was solely because I had never handled one, I went into my LGS looking to pick up a steel frame sig and just happened to have the owner drop an SP01 tactical in my hand. And that was all she wrote... I looked at the price tag between the two, figured "oh what the hell, ill save some money worst case scenario." I've never looked back! Very soon there after I traded one of my P365's for this gun and traded my 509 midsize MRD in FDE or a P01 omega in urban grey. I'm hooked!!
Thanks for making a vid about the original 75 Compact! There are so few vids about this model, as opposed to the P-01 and PCR Compact. It's like the forgotten CZ model. This gun is, aesthetically, and in terms of feel, my favorite handgun. I carry mine AWIB. Mine has VZ grips and some Cajun Gun works goodies. If CZ ever made a matte stainless version of the 75 Compact, I'd rob banks to buy multiple! Subscribed!
If they made a stainless compact - WITH the upswept beaver tail , "d" style mag release, and more generous undercut - I'm right there with you. I'd have no reason to pine after the P-01 for it's super comfy frame.
I've had 2 compacts, my all time favorite guns! These were the first center fire pistols my children started shooting at about 8 years old. I'm using the Beretta base plates on some of my mags because the snag my shirt less than the rubber CZ plates. My range mags all have the rubber plates tho. The mags that are in the pistol when it's in my CC holster have the stock steel plate. I bent the front down slightly, filed/sanded the edges smooth and re-blued them. They are much more comfortable, snag free, and don't add to the grip length. My current C also wears flatter G10 grips that I like much better than the stockers with their palm swell. This winter my current C is going to get a full hard chrome.
Great review! I appreciate the depth of detail , advice on spares to have on hand . I love my P-01, the ergos are great and the heavy Dbl action trigger is a good idea for me and riding the hammer with the decocker just makes sense as well.
Excellent vid brother, thanks for explaining some of the finite details of the breakdown. I am looking forward to my CZ purchase, and this is the model I am looking to get for my Appendix carry. going to put my HK aside for a while...much appreciated.
Enjoyed the review. Ordered a 75 Comp last week and should be picking up within a couple days. Looking forward to it even more after your review. Subbed. Take care.
The grip on this pistol is comfortable for me. When I got my purchase on my pistol, my thumb sits right on top of the safety lever, effectively making the pistol ready to fire
Been reading about these CZ handguns for a long time. I finally pulled the "proverbial trigger" on this CZ 75 Compact, ordering one yesterday (good price too for $559). In effect, I want to see what everyone is raving about. By the by, excellent review! You are to the point, quite articulate and coherent. Thank you . . .
@@DeathPredator lol . . . No shit. Actually, I am turned off by it. Don’t get me wrong, I love my CZ 75 Compact, but go look at the prices after January 2022, i.e., that same gun I got for $559, is now going for $789.00 . . . That coupled with the “fan boi” delirium is ridiculous. Plus, the modifications pushed by the Gucci crowd is stupid, especially when they’re doing it to triggers and slides (cuts). When you do that, it becomes an unreliable range gun.
@@StevenMelikean Yeah. I can't say I'm not addicted to them myself, but I agree. I don't need 19 different pistols with a crapload of mods. I have one mid-range one that I Cajunized for fun myself, and would like to acquire one higher-end, full-frame and be done. And the pricing is an unfortunate thing. I'm sure some of that is the hype demand we are seeing and some is the logistic issues coupled with the inflation of a dying USD. Compact 75 is probably a great one for broad applicability without going too far one way or the other.
@@DeathPredator Everything you noted, I agree with (particularly inflation . . . Sheesh, yesterday it took over a hundred dollars to fill my truck with gas).
I also carry a CZ-75Compact and it is very comfortable tho carry not too heavy for me. Like all my other CZ's reliable and comfortable that's what you want in a edc.
Tim Whitlock me too. Like the aluminum frame on the C100. Put some CGW parts in mine, and the trigger is better than some of my cz's with the same mods.
TheHumbleMarksman hey I Have the pcr also I put a 11.5 hammer spring in David at cgw said stay with the factory 17 pound recoil spring for carry but would a 14 pound recoil spring Reduce recoil a little? I had no problems shooting my self defense ammo with the 11.5 hammer spring neither,as matter a fact it shot everything 4 different Types of ammo iteven fired wolf everything 100 percent I was impressed
The recoil spring affects 2 things - #1 isthe spring provides the force to strip the next round from the magazine and chamber it, and #2 it makes the front sight dip as the slide closes chambering that round if there is excessive force. In theory it will reduce the amount of sight dip and let the sights settle in faster, but at the expense of potential reliability chambering rounds. With everything, it's a compromise and YMMV. My Compact and P01 use factory weight recoil springs.
Great video man...personally I like the steel pistol more, they’re just better built and more accurate for me, plus they look a ton more sexy. I own a CZ 75D and Sig 229 Legion SA and wouldn’t trade them for anything!
Thanks for the video. Went to Greg Cote and bought 4 of their mag bases because of your credit to them..and gave you cred as well. Wish you'd given source of your trigger spring swap. I like the carrying the Compact because I enjoy practicing with the full-size 75b. Excellent review.
Appreciate that. Since I have more than one 75, is there anything else I need to have in my repair box? You mentioned a roll pin as well, now updated to a solid one in subsequent pistol models. Also, I tried a couple of grips, and arrived on the LOK palm-swell bogies. Awesome feel, same size as the original plastic, and don't move in the hand. Slim fits gave me too much lateral travel...you know, 'shoots left'.
+Bob Zhurunkle my match gun gets maybe 3-5k rounds on it per year. Just as an insurance policy I will swap out the firing pin spring, trigger return spring and slide stop each year, then move the slide stop to my practice gun, and similarly a new TRS and FP spring. If you go light on your FP spring it will wear out and need replacing every 10k rounds or so, esp if you dryfire with regularity . Save the practice slide stop as an extra in my bag "just in case". If I was shooting block guns and didn't have the solid pin I would swap that roll pin each time I change the FP spring. If you are running an 11.5# hammer spring you might change those out annually too so they don't get too light. My carry CZs I just keep oiled and track usage. I will swap the TRS on those at 5k, the balance of springs at 10K.
Good video. Keep reminding the public there are excellent options out there. P01, P07 Omega & C100 owner here. I've learned the Omega trigger suits women and people with small hands well because the trigger reach is shorter than most pistols. I have a ebay set of G10 grips but will go back to the factory rubber grip. I also have some Meprolight sights uninstalled. Just got them in the mail.
The compact is a great carry gun. When I learned I could shoot my P-01 as accurately as it I gave up the extra weight. I'm very intrested in the P07/P09 platforms. If they release optics ready variants next year I will probably be picking them up.
Thanks for answering some questions Sir. Beautiful pistol, think I'm leaning more towards the compact for my next carry pistol as opposed to the full size 75. It will be my first CZ...can't wait.
i agree with u about it being alot harder to take the czs apart. i have built & modified several of my glocks. its very simple. i got the mcarbo spring kit for my p07, if it wasnt for mcarbos detailed installation & polishing videos for their kits, i wouldnt have been able to do it. it was definately worth it, it reduced da & sa trigger pull by 40 %. the polishing made the trigger pull smooth as butter.
keep the front sight and just switch out to an all black comp rear. i have that set up on my P07 2nd. Gen. very good sight picture. or adjustable if u like :) my other is a CZ 75 COMPACT SDP :) STRAIGHT 8 HEINE SIGHTS SWITCHING IS NOT A PROBLEM, more practice will make it like breathing.
My 75B is set up with Dawsons and it was my main carry for a long time. Now I've got a P01O that I'm putting through it's paces. Ultimately - they all need dawsons - be it a fiber front or tritium.
Really prefect carry pistol, I'm have a smaller stature and decided on the 2075 Rami BD (Decocker) but this probably would have been a better choice. Off to CZ Custom for their magic. 8 lb DA and 3.5 lb. SA. Comp. hammer, firing pin, 13 lb springs, short reach trigger and reset and polish job. CZ Compact sure feels good in my hand and may be my next purchase!
just scrolling through a few comments before asking this guy if he has any new info or preferences on this CZ or any other CZ. the word Rami caught my eye.I own 3 handguns & cary 1 of them alot (S&W 66-2,2.5 inch barrel.not sure of exact weight of my K frame with the VZ grips I put on it + 6 rounds of 357(no gun expert & defantly no balistics /ammo expert.)have Federal 158 grain soft lead HPs in it right now.I do my homework ,but sooo much best gun and best ammo info online ,its brain numbing.to me anyway. One of my friends (67 year old army brat.Correct me if im wrong ,I believe thats what children of army employees are called. Also not sure, but even though my buddy Pat is now 67 & his father retired and is dead now ,hes still the son of a 40+ year vet.Once a brat, always a brat.?.?maybe just a nickname for youngsters of active duty ..Not sure.Im curious now.Ill ask him soon.anyhow, the point of the "Pat/Brat"rabbit hole im getting out of right now is,...,anytime i need to fact check or get a 2nd opinion on anything gun related, hes my go to.his IQ is off the charts, hes retired (state job, never went into service)& lives & breaths guns, history ,especialy war -weapons development (desighn?engenering? you get the point).Pretty much immersed in /surrounded by army, guns, living on bases ect ect from birth.waay long way of saying hes knowledgable.Think Im missing seeing my pal.after this & asking the guy that made this video a cpl ?'s ,im going to see him.Works part time job at gun counter at a dunnhams sports store so if hes not home ,I suppose ill just have to go to his work.Darn it..more employee discount bullets.hardehar.THINK,,?,?that my point was going to be,my carry ammo is always fresh good stuff that would serve its purpose in a wide range of senairios .do like SJHP too.enough..Bought a Beretta 81 a while back ,like & fimiliar comfortable & most confident with S\D action .Gun weight is an asset & obviously isnt an issue for me personaly . Excellent review of the little CZ. I have a c100 lightweight model imported by TriStar and am completely satisfied. I have never seen a CZ so can't make any comparisons. In any event, recommend that you look into the models that are offered. I'm just a duffer, so I don't dry fire my hammer or striker fired pistols very often. I use hot zqi NATO ammo for range use and anticipate no problems with my cakik55 manufactured pistol except for a recoil spring change at 6,000-10,000 rounds or so; I have a spare on hand-lol. Very informative video.
That is one of the best choice for carry, the manual safety only, 1911 style is the best set up IMO, it would be even better with an ambi safety and without firing pin safety.
love this gun,I have been carrying it over a year now.Way better than plastic guns,BUT I might change my mind if I ever get my hands on a P10c. LOL, Great vid.
TriStar markets Turkish made clones of the CZ75 Compact which they labeled as the C100. I have the C100 in 9mm, 380 and 40S&W with the later two no longer made or imported. The C100 in 9mm is one of my go-to-war guns, alloy frame, 15+1 and a tack driver all for under $400. What's not to love?
I just found your channel and subbed after watching just a few videos - Good stuff. My most recent (cz) pistol is a steel compact with rail, absolutely lovin' it :) Thanks for your videos and attention to detail - Best of luck!
liked & subscribed.held 1st CZ (s) the other day.felt right for me. real right. one had PCR(the police model, may have that wrong)on price tag but not stamped in slide.if you see this let me know.studying CZs for hours.getting confused in a few things.going to their website now but stuff like that failing tapered roll pin ,doubt they are writing much about stuff like that.you have the answers to 5-6 questions i cant find.cant shop yet.thank you.
I just put down 10% to order one at my LGS. In 2004 I think it was I had a choice between the CZ75BD Police model or the compact. I went with the police model since it was less common. I put factory rubber grips on it and will do the same with the compact when it arrives. Carry it in half cock (also known as 1/4 cocked) mode and the DA trigger pull is much nicer and that is how it is intended to be carried. Once the new compact is in my hands I'll pickup the Colt King Cobra target model and a snubbie. I have little love for plastic pistols.......
@@TheHumbleMarksman I love CZs, revolvers too BTW. When I picked it up it was my 2nd semi-auto the first being a Bulgarian Makarov. The guys at IDPA wondered why I bought a commie trash CZ and back then it seems most shooters thought that way. Now they are everywhere. I have never had a problem with my 75 and actually did very well with it in my old IDPA days. I also shot well with the Makarov, another "trash" commie gun. I could tell you a couple funny stories about the Makarov and what that gun could do.....
Have seen 1911 competition ppl with rubber bands on the grip safety. Only had one failure to fire related to grip safety during competition possibly because of gloves
I shot a match with a guy who was a seasoned shooter but trying his shiny new 2011. He missed his grip and had the grip safety mess with him on 4 of 6 stages. Everyone who shoots 2011s pin their grip safety for this reason- the issues almost always come from transitioning the gun from hand to hand but sometimes off the draw
How beautiful this little pistol truly is! I put on the CZ walnut grips, but I think I like yours better, may have to order a set. I also installed the steel guide rod just 'cause I like how it looks. My only beef is I wish for the old style "cocking serrations" (like the Omega has) I even wrote to CZ asking for this. I would love one in stainless with the slide configured this way. Always something to wish for!
Excellent video ! @ 11:18 you point out the single locking lug barrel. Could you substitute a full length CZ-75B slide and barrel onto the Compact frame ? I know a Kadet can be used with the CZ 75 Compact.
I recently built a shooting berm on my ranch, and decided to begin shooting more. After shooting the first 16 rounds, the magazine wouldn’t release! I had to pry it out with a knife!
These take about 40,000 rounds to break in fully... the barrels last about 90,000 rounds... and other than were and tear on springs and roll pins they last forever. The only area requiring replacement if you dry fire a lot you need to replace the firing pin retaining roll pin (going to a two turn will give you more durability on this) It is on the slide about 1/5 of the way forward from back across the slide. You can tell when it is going bad if you hold up to a light and look through the pin open center... when you start to see a restriction in it replace pin 1000-3000 dry fires. At 40,000 rounds have serviced... after it is seasoned or broken in... I note these guns were designed and used in the "East Block" and that meant they were designed to shoot steel case ammo... no worries about that. CZ USA, will replace the various springs and roll pins and look over, and probably tighten up the gun a little.... that is the time to have them do any magic on it... as the custom shop has literally every thing you could want or mod available from the "factory". Actually, it starts shooting and feeling nice after 10,000 or so... I would not replace the standard springs if you are using self defense but CZ can guide you on that. One thing to note is the barrel tilts less than most other tilt barrels... good to add suppressors! Very compact gun really... about glock 43x size... but STEEL> The P0-1 is available in a NSN military (US and Nato) stock number... the best results coming out of those acceptance tests of ANY pistol.
I love all the 75's but ya might think about looking into the clones as well...cheers...oh and I carry a SAR k2p...and it's a clone that takes all of the 75b mags.
Nobody carries them locally. I usually end up picking up my pistols second hand via a local gun swap forum and when I'm out kicking tires I've not managed to connect on one as they're fairly rare. I think it's the S120 I see showing up more often than not, often tricked out with Cajun parts.
Mule TeamSixtySix I had a SAR K2P a couple years ago. It was used but excellent condition and only cost me $250 otd. The only thing I didn't like about it was the safety being left side only (I'm a lefty). Other than that it was an excellent pistol. I would take it to the range with a Walther PPQ I had at the time, and as great as the PPQ was I actually enjoyed shooting the SAR a little more. It's a shame that they're so hard to find.
Would like to hear about the differences between the Compact and the PCR ( aluminum frame). Besides the decocker on the PCR, does anyone have experience w/ both?
PCR has a thicker frame than the standard compact. Maybe to make up for it not being steel? . & the trigger is serrated. & PCR has its own set of unique Sight cutouts. I own both.
a really good breakdown of a really fine handgun. Thanks 'umble Mark. I do not have a lot of guns --- there is a budget just like a lot of folks --- but I chose my cz75d pcr to get some love --- truglo tfx sights, black nitride ss guide rod, g10 OD green grips --- the stock rubber grips actually felt better in my hand but kept grabbing my cover shirt when iwb carry. Found a great carry holster from Theis holsters --- great leather + kydex design. Thanks again for a good cognitive review.
Thanks for watching! I've seen those Theis holsters and came really close to buying one at one point. I love G10 grips - I have a set for this compact but they're too aggressive (VZ Diamondbacks) for carry - tears up my side. PCR's are great, if I could get along with the CZ decocker I'd have gone that way for certain.
My current favorite set up is this. I bought one to try for my full size 75B, liked it so much I got one for the C: ruclips.net/video/PDM_2QqKvdo/видео.html With an UltiClip 3 on the front position and the standard hook at the rear. I've also used this holster and it's decent if you'd rather go with I have also used the Black Arch ACE Gen 2 ruclips.net/video/xallArlkTBo/видео.html The ACE is nice - I became more tuned into retention since I have young kids so the retention from the Clinger is excellent, plus with the steep cant a compact is pretty much invisible.
I really like them --- the rear sight sets closer to the hammer but the front sight is longer than stock (as they both are because of the fiber optic + tritium dual function) --- so, the sight radius is still about the same. But my aging eyes lock into these so much better. Day or night.
I have multiples of CZ75B clones and love them all, the only true CZ75B I will get (next handgun purchase ) is the matt stainless finish (just don't like the ambi-safety) I got a couple sarsilmaz b6p ( for carry/ polymer frame cz clone, love them, And I got two Tristar S-120's , one matt chrome cerakote finish and one black cerakote, both new models with the cz75b style trigger guard, I traded the slide/barrel /guide rod/spring on both (both brand new) so I got two , 2 tone cz clones, black slide/chrome frame & chrome slide black Frame and put vz grips ( tactical diamond pattern chrome frame / blue and black & black Frame / zebra pattern ) love them ! GREAT VIDEO! subscribed :)
Nice! I'd like to handle one of those Tristars, I hear good things about them just have never encountered one in the wild. Looking at the website the S120 appears the same weight as the 75B while the T120 is reported at being 30 oz! Is that right?
+filoIII there are like 4 shapes and completely subjective. Recurve on the P01 and base line SP01. Traditional on 75s and then two profiles of 85 trigger, one is the 75 trigger with a set screw, the other is flatter.
Great review. I"m glad to see someone mentioning riding the hammer. I do have a question as I am interested in getting a CZ to replace my Glock 19. What do you think of the steel vs alloy frames, and what do you think about the standard vs the Omega trigger system?
👍Nice weapon, good video👍 I have a love/hate relationship w/ my CZ 2075 RAMI. I purchased this new a couple years ago & absolutely love the way it assist me in shooting. It’s overall heft absorbs any recoil (9mm) allows to get back on target quickly & fits my hand like a glove. Having said this, I’ll explain the ‘Hate’ side of my comment. This weapon (& the CZ 75 metal variants) must be maintained & maintenance can’t be ‘put off’ as it’ll simply cease to function properly. Polycoat finish issues, Poor sights, Sight loosening, Springs, pins, pins & springs .... replacement a must after 5 to 600 round cycles. IMO, it’s problematic in being an EDC as I just can’t trust it. Again, love the weapon but (for me at least) it’s a maintenance nightmare. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the CZ brand. Their low axis bore design, heft, easily staying on target. Pros & Cons, i understand, I get it but for me.... “safe queen”✌️ Thx again for the review. (SUB’d)
TheHumbleMarksman - as goofy as it sounds, 600 is what CZ USA told me. I wasn’t getting the slide KER-CHUNK after cycling approx 800 rds. I bought a few recoil springs from them, replaced & the slide felt correct again. When it’s time to replace the spring, it’ll start stove piping and such. I swap springs and it’s back to being awesome for another 5, 600 to 800 rounds. I’ve searched for other brand springs....not much luck. Idk.... what’s your recommendation?
Great video. Do you have any experience or opinion on IMI Jericho 941 FB wich is similar all steel gun with 3.5" polygonal barrel, 13+1 rounds capacity and two locking lugs...
Anyone bothered by an 8.1-oz weight differential between a loaded CZ 75 Compact and the loaded Glock 19 doesn't have a good gun belt or holster. The additional weight alone makes CZ a far better shooter. If you don't carry a gun to shoot it and are truly bothered by the extra half pound, even with a good belt and holster, just lose a half pound. Per the Ultimate Handgun Effectivess Metric (UHEM), the CZ 75 Compact is 33% more effective than the Glock 19.
It's a personal choice. whatever nuanced differences in performance due to frame are largely unexploitable - at least in my hands - and objectively speaking I'm on the higher end of handgun proficiency (using known benchmark drills, USPSA/IDPA classification). It's a darn nice gun but it's absolutely a brick - even with a good belt and good holster. A P01 occupies the same real estate weighing a good bit less - especially if you ditch the rubber grips for G10 or wood.
absolutely. i sent the slide on my p07 to ncengravers to get milled for the 507k. as soon as it comes back, im going to send them the slide for my sp01 tactical to get milled for a rmr. do it, there are several companies out there that will mill the slide for just about any pistol, for whatever red dot u want.
30+ year platform works way better than today’s model.. today’s guns are designed for sports and paper shooting in my opinion... trust me, for defense that gun will do it’s job
best thing you can do is get in touch with customer service and see what they can do for you. Odds are they can't - as the poly coat machines are in CR and CZ-USA is in KS City. A good move if slide wear is bothering you would be to get one of the bullet proof coatings - like NP3, Hard Chrome, Black Nitride/Nitrocarburizing - etc and completely get away from poly coat. That's a lot of money to spend on feeling bad about cosmetic damage though.... There's always Cerakote - but that wears out as fast as blue and probably faster than polycoat.
Just a comment: The Turkish canik55 cz75 clones (upgrades?) have all metal parts except the aluminum hard chromed iaw NATO specs. When the interior of the cerakoted slides starts to wear that's the black stuff you will see.
Why are there two listed ; one is identified as low capacity @ 10 and the other @ 14 ? They even have different SKU numbers but are both CZ75 compacts.
Sooo J&G Sales has the same guns you have in two-tone (without the wood grips) used trade-in. They're in good condition which they do have a bit of holster wear and it shows more on the two-tone color, and is imported through century arms. It's a whopping $399. Should I snag it??
They're a heavy pistol about the size of a G19. If you like the weight of an all steel gun it's tough to go wrong with. The muzzle of the duotones will wear pretty bad from holstering. Very easy shooting gun for carry the weight can be annoying after a while.
I absolutely DO NOT want, and regret the inundation of polymer firearms. I want 100% steel. The first Semi Auto I bought was a Colt Combat Commander in 1973 that was a LEMON. It took my Sug/Sauer P220 to give me faith in a Semi Auto. I look forward to putting my new CZ 75 Compact through its paces.
I completely agree. I have owned and carried several DA/SA polymer or aluminum framed pistols over the years, including a SIG SP2022, a Bersa UC9, and a Grand Power P11. Last month, I saw a CZ-75 compact on the shelf as "blemished" for a significant discount and bought it on a whim. I have shot the best groups and follow-ups in my life with this thing. The heavy frame soaks up recoil and keeps it from being top-heavy. I will never go back... this is a real piece of iron!
I’ve been collecting magazines from gun shows, so don’t know brands, as they’re unmarked. One does say 75, but the rest are blank. An unmarked was the stuck culprit? Should I worry? Have it “fixed”? Check it out? I’m in Texas, north if Houston......know any trustworthy experts?
I will stay with my Glock Platform guns which I have been shooting for over 20 years and I carried the G19 as my duty weapon for over 10 years until my retirement in 2009. I think I am like most Glock guys when I speak about them and I will not elaborate but all I can say is I trust this weapon with my life and they have never failed to work for me. There is not a Weapon out there that will be able to change my mind. I'm quite sure the CZ i a fine weapon but will never replace my Glocks!
Not sure that YT lets through links to web stores - if they don't the name of the web store is Greg Cote LLC, google that and you'll find it. It's under "CZ & Mec Gar magazines"
CZ75 compact and D PCR are beautiful, super accurate and reliable weapons. Once you go CZ you never go back
ZFlyingVLover No kidding ! I have three of them . Now this one is added to my budget . Their so nice to shoot I’m in love with these guns .
ZFlyingVLover I own many CZ weapons both rifles and handguns. They make good weapons just like a dozen other companies do. There’s too many nice weapons out there to limit myself to one brand.
Tried CZ and still a Sig guy.
@@FoulPet I like sig too and have a p226 but it's not $300 better than a CZ. In fact, I'd say a CZ is the same quality as a sig at %70 of the price.
I use my CZ75 Compact everyday as my CCW. I replaced a Springfield 1911 EMP Compact for it.
Bravo! Couldn't agree more. I also carry a CZ. CZ PCR. I have had mine customized by the CZ Custom Shop. SWEET!
They're awesome guns man. Thanks for checking it out!
I like the heavier steel framed guns, easier for me to steady when aiming
I don't mind the heft. I choose my firearms to have maximum effect if I hvae to use them, that easy practical accuracy and brilliant hosing if I need it.
Yikes too much maintenance
Racer X: too much maintenance? What exactly are you referring to? Never noticed much more maintenance on my all steel handguns vs polymers.
Steel is king for sure.
They're really great guns to be sure. Class em up with some good grips and sights and call it good.
Awesome gun. Didn't know how awesome until I picked one up. CZ makes great guns.
Excellent review , you covered about every question a potential buyer would need to know .
CZ, is my Premium handgun of choice . I have other brands ,but I like the CZ models the best.
Love the NutnFancy remark!
Great job. Like the details you gave about the pins, etc.
Cheers. Been living with them for a while so it's stuff I'd want to know.
Don’t they make a matte stainless compact?
+Lonicus Maximus hard chrome! I need to do that... make a video or post pics!
Great review! I appreciate the depth of detail , advice on spares to have on hand . I love my P-01, the ergos are great and the heavy Dbl action trigger is a good idea for me and riding the hammer with the decocker just makes sense as well.
P-01's are brilliant little guns. I'm enjoying my new Omega, which I just posted a review on.
Excellent vid brother, thanks for explaining some of the finite details of the breakdown. I am looking forward to my CZ purchase, and this is the model I am looking to get for my Appendix carry. going to put my HK aside for a while...much appreciated.
They're fine guns to be certain - enjoy
Enjoyed the review. Ordered a 75 Comp last week and should be picking up within a couple days. Looking forward to it even more after your review. Subbed. Take care.
I bet you enjoy the pistol. Enjoy it!
Thank you . . .
Did you become an addict like so many other CZ purchasers?
The weight is going to affect everybody differently - sure makes it a pleasure to shoot!
thx humble for unbiased cz love...but I've been drinking..so who knows.
Your YT vid skills have vastly improved since this one. Still - very informative. Thanks
Yeah sorry these were bad
I have the TriStar C100 which is the clone version of this gun. Its in my warm weather EDC rotation and I love it. Picked it up at Academy for $329
I'm going to have to run down one of these to try
My Compact and P01 use factory weight recoil springs.
ok maybe i just need to try it for like 500 rounds to see what will happen if all fails i can just put the factory back in thanks
Great video man...personally I like the steel pistol more, they’re just better built and more accurate for me, plus they look a ton more sexy. I own a CZ 75D and Sig 229 Legion SA and wouldn’t trade them for anything!
Actually it's aluminium not steel
@lazry Actually it’s steel not aluminum
Thanks for the video. Went to Greg Cote and bought 4 of their mag bases because of your credit to them..and gave you cred as well. Wish you'd given source of your trigger spring swap. I like the carrying the Compact because I enjoy practicing with the full-size 75b. Excellent review.
I use the CZC Trigger return springs. Keeps the trigger pull weight up a bit but it resets quicker and swings forward with more authority.
I can tell by just looking at that it is a superb ccw.
it was a fine one for sure.
You should be pleased with it - it’s a shooter
i agree with u about it being alot harder to take the czs apart. i have built & modified several of my glocks. its very simple. i got the mcarbo spring kit for my p07, if it wasnt for mcarbos detailed installation & polishing videos for their kits, i wouldnt have been able to do it. it was definately worth it, it reduced da & sa trigger pull by 40 %. the polishing made the trigger pull smooth as butter.
keep the front sight and just switch out to an all black comp rear. i have that set up on my P07 2nd. Gen. very good sight picture. or adjustable if u like :) my other is a CZ 75 COMPACT SDP :) STRAIGHT 8 HEINE SIGHTS SWITCHING IS NOT A PROBLEM, more practice will make it like breathing.

Good Review. didn't know that about the pins and dry-fire.
+TMR Video's like I said, it's really only an issue with an extensive amount of it.
I do like that color, though
Great video. Easy to remove slide is a huge plus.
I got a decoker model of this gun
I love it...
a decocker steel framed compact is a rare bird indeed!
TheHumbleMarksman ...great gun
exc review...
I own the cz75 b and cz97 and love them this will be my next gun but not in that horrible two tone yuk. thank you for a good review
thanks!
I am sure it will do it's job admirably!
That is one of the best choice for carry, the manual safety only, 1911 style is the best set up IMO, it would be even better with an ambi safety and without firing pin safety.
I agree I have a spo1 With a D Cocker but I just bought a peel one with the safety I think I like it better
love this gun,I have been carrying it over a year now.Way better than plastic guns,BUT I might change my mind if I ever get my hands on a P10c. LOL, Great vid.
Not sure I am going to unless I change up my competition platform. Similar-ish triggers will ensure hammertime for the near future (for me)
TriStar markets Turkish made clones of the CZ75 Compact which they labeled as the C100. I have the C100 in 9mm, 380 and 40S&W with the later two no longer made or imported. The C100 in 9mm is one of my go-to-war guns, alloy frame, 15+1 and a tack driver all for under $400. What's not to love?
Damn… when he said 2017… I wish I could go back. Any time before 2020
Great points. One of the only vids that gives some cons to the cz for objectivity!
I just found your channel and subbed after watching just a few videos - Good stuff. My most recent (cz) pistol is a steel compact with rail, absolutely lovin' it :) Thanks for your videos and attention to detail - Best of luck!
Cheers, thanks for stopping by!
liked & subscribed.held 1st CZ (s) the other day.felt right for me. real right. one had PCR(the police model, may have that wrong)on price tag but not stamped in slide.if you see this let me know.studying CZs for hours.getting confused in a few things.going to their website now but stuff like that failing tapered roll pin ,doubt they are writing much about stuff like that.you have the answers to 5-6 questions i cant find.cant shop yet.thank you.
I have the CZ75B Compact. Very exact weapon.
The compact is pretty cool I'm sure you'll like it.

Yeah they are great guns. I sure do love mine, and also want to say that you made a great video.👍
Gotta say. This is one beautiful gun. I wish my country allow handguns. I'd get one,
I proudly originally own a CZ 85, still like new, rarely shot, stamped “Made In Czechoslovakia”. Are magazines interchangeable with model 75?
All these need is blue cjw hammer spring and the removal of the fp detent.
Wow! Old school video. Have you reviewed the CZ P07 yet? Thanks for the share!!
Yeah don’t watch my old videos they are terrible
@@TheHumbleMarksman Hey brother, we all gotta start somewhere. ;-)
I'm a fan of stainless/hard chrome guns in general.
Purchased PCR with Cajun Gun Works Pro package. My favorite carry pistol.
I've moved to a P01 - so basically the same gun as the PCR. The little alloy frames do a surprisingly good job. I greatly enjoy my P01.
Very compact gun really... about glock 43x size... but STEEL>
The P0-1 is available in a NSN military (US and Nato) stock number... the best results coming out of those acceptance tests of ANY pistol.
They're awesome guns
Issues with dry firing: snap caps needed? Or, were you using them and still had issues?
I wasn’t using them and had issues. Using them I never had issues.
TheHumbleMarksman The sar usually goes for under $300..new around here...luvin the reviews cheers
Good explanation of this gun. Great video.
Thanks for watching!
TheHumbleMarksman what holster are you using to carry the cz 75c?
My current favorite set up is this. I bought one to try for my full size 75B, liked it so much I got one for the C:
ruclips.net/video/PDM_2QqKvdo/видео.html
With an UltiClip 3 on the front position and the standard hook at the rear. I've also used this holster and it's decent if you'd rather go with
I have also used the Black Arch ACE Gen 2 ruclips.net/video/xallArlkTBo/видео.html
The ACE is nice - I became more tuned into retention since I have young kids so the retention from the Clinger is excellent, plus with the steep cant a compact is pretty much invisible.
TDale Martin how are those tru glo sights are they good sights for the pcr?
TheHumbleMarksman little over 2lbs. ( the s -120 )not sure on the t-120.
Wish there was a vid showing installation of the 85 combat trigger.
+filoIII there are like 4 shapes and completely subjective. Recurve on the P01 and base line SP01. Traditional on 75s and then two profiles of 85 trigger, one is the 75 trigger with a set screw, the other is flatter.
I've subscribed because your content is good, but dude, turn up the audio on your voice please! Can't hear you. Thanks for the upload!
I've decided this was enough of a hobby to invest in some better equipment, expect better production value all around moving forward.
Great review. I"m glad to see someone mentioning riding the hammer. I do have a question as I am interested in getting a CZ to replace my Glock 19. What do you think of the steel vs alloy frames, and what do you think about the standard vs the Omega trigger system?
👍Nice weapon, good video👍
I have a love/hate relationship w/ my CZ 2075 RAMI. I purchased this new a couple years ago & absolutely love the way it assist me in shooting. It’s overall heft absorbs any recoil (9mm) allows to get back on target quickly & fits my hand like a glove.
Having said this, I’ll explain the ‘Hate’ side of my comment.
This weapon (& the CZ 75 metal variants)
must be maintained & maintenance can’t be ‘put off’ as it’ll simply cease to function properly.
“safe queen”✌️
Thx again for the review. (SUB’d)
interesting - what parts are you changing out every 500-600 rounds? My maintenance regimen was every 10k.
Nice pistol for sure, high quality too.
Nice review brother. 👍🏽
Great thorough review.
Thank you!
I have one and p07 love them both
Great video.
What do you think about putting a red dot on the CZ 75 Compact. I love shooting this gun, but can't see the sights on any guns because or older eyes>
absolutely. i sent the slide on my p07 to ncengravers to get milled for the 507k. as soon as it comes back, im going to send them the slide for my sp01 tactical to get milled for a rmr. do it, there are several companies out there that will mill the slide for just about any pistol, for whatever red dot u want.
Good review well made.
30+ year platform works way better than today’s model.. today’s guns are designed for sports and paper shooting in my opinion... trust me, for defense that gun will do it’s job
Excellent review!
I barely took any material off the bottom of the Dawson front sight and it’s touching the slide when I installed it did you have the same experience?
Got the Compact in satin nickel, rosewood grips.
they're pretty guns.
Hey, you seem knowledgeable about about CZ....do you know if CZ will refinish poly coat slides? Thanks. I can't find any info on the internet's.
best thing you can do is get in touch with customer service and see what they can do for you.
I have a single action trigger on my 75C
Why are there two listed ; one is identified as low capacity @ 10 and the other @ 14 ? They even have different SKU numbers but are both CZ75 compacts.
one is for sale in restricted states where 10 rounds are max.
good day. I want a cz 75 compact pistol. how can i buy I live in Lithuania.
Where did you get those wood grips. If you can send me the link for the pin, magazine and magazine rubber plate. Please
Very easy shooting gun for carry the weight can be annoying after a while.
will this take upgrades just like the fs cz, like sao trigger, magwell, extended safety?
+Steve -o- yes the action is identical with the exception of the recoil spring weight you need, otherwise uses all the same parts save grips
Great details. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Anybody have any experience with the used ones being offered by J&G Sales right now?
I have one and it's one of my favorite
They're great little pistols
I'm quite sure the CZ i a fine weapon but will never replace my Glocks!
based on the headache with the TRS and the firing pin retaining pin - the glock gets the nod from me.
Glocks are a great duty gun. The problem is psychological. I'm not fond of appendix carry with a striker fired weapon.
30 years plus old platform? Actually more like 40 years plus old, which for gun designs is like a pre-schooler!
a link for the magazine base plate?
gregcotellc.com/cart/cz-factory-mecgar-magazines-c-173/cz-75b-cz-85-cz-75-compact-rubber-mag-base-pad-273199000850-p-1420.html
Not sure that YT lets through links to web stores - if they don't the name of the web store is Greg Cote LLC, google that and you'll find it. It's under "CZ & Mec Gar magazines"
