    I managed to make the stock clip into a deep carry tip up. You need a torch, a dremel, 6 to 8 beers and atleast 4 extra clips for breakage. I recommend just buying an MXG, but hey, mine is custom.

    My speedsafe spring finally got to were it wouldn't deploy the blade like it used to. It was a kind of rusty handme down when I got it, but it shined up nicely. I sent an email to kershaw customer service and about a week later. I had a new spring. Great custmer service. Love my old plain jane leek.

    Kershaw Leek 1660cb, head and shoulders above any knife I've ever owned, I've had hundreds lol whenever the spring (torsion bar) fails, I email Kershaw, they send me new parts free, I rebuild it and give it to a friend after buying a new one. I love these knives! The first Leek was released in 2003 according to House of Blades. Great video! Thank you and I hope you get addicted as I have become!

    I've carried my DLC coated leek off and on for about 6 years now. It's not my favorite knife but it's also never been booted out of rotation. The clip is very bad but a knife is meant to cut not look pretty in your pocket. And man does it cut. 14c28 is a pretty decent steel designed specifically for cutlery if I'm not mistaken. It will hold a super thin edge for general carry tasks. Well mine at least. I have it sharpened down to somewhere between 13 to 15 degrees and usually a higher polish. My hands don't measure angles to accurately. Good little knife.

    Remove the torsion bar and its a great manual too. I took my broken one out while waiting for Kershaw to send me a new one. I got the torsion bar in the mail a few months ago but i've yet to put it in because it's great with out it. You can still flip it with the thumb studs/ flipper tab and a little wrist action. And removing it doesn't seem to have a negative effect on the knifes performance in any way. I like that I can choose if I want it to be assisted.

    I've had the leek in my rotation for about 6 months. I have never had the visceral reaction to assisted opening that many people seem to have. She sees a lot of pocket time. Super thin, decent blade steel for the money, very narrow in the pocket. A nice legal size.

    I have both and you are correct if you think the Dividend is the Leek but better. But the Leek is such a tent pole they couldn’t very well market it as such. The Dividend is ostensibly the complement to the Link, but it’s really the new and improved Leek.

  • @beyproctor7673

    I just ordered a Leek because of how much I like to carry the Kershaw Almar3. Otherwise I would probably never have considered it. I’m going for the same quality and operation but USA made. I think I’m going to like it. I already know I don’t like the safety though because I’ve heard the blade can close on it if it is accidentally engaged while open. I’ve only heard of that one time though so maybe the safety is no big deal. We’ll see.

  • @insanogeddon
    @insanogeddon 9 месяцев назад

    The Leek is like the Buck 110/112 or the Kabar Dozier it has transcended beyond knife fandom into non-knife daily EDC for people from all industries, cultures, climates, as a go to blade that works and even fails predictably w/o extra dramas.
    RUIKE KNIVES P831-SF FOLDING KNIFE: 14C28N stainless steel (58~60 HRC).
    Framelock with an additional locking thumb stud.
    There is no better or cheaper alternative which is why I always prefer to be loyal to originals.

    I have the D2, Damascus, Gold, and Elmax knives. Only 2 things about it are the tip is easily breakable and the safety is easy to move forward with the knife open and then close the knife on the plastic safety which breaks it. Otherwise awesome gentleman folder or edc

Small and low profile for her to carry, handles all her box openings, cutting packaging open etc, and in a color she likes. SO overall, while id def is not my taste for a folder compared to something like the recon 1, for her its a prefect fit
