I have to say many Kershaw knives are a good point of entry. Spring assist adds that cool factor for people newer to the hobby. My first Kershaw was a Cryo. It’s a nice snappy knife, and for me, cool at the time. I had several spring failures though, but Kershaw was quick to get me a replacement spring. Great review as always!

Thanks Shawn! Good feedback on Kershaw taking care of warranty issues in a timely manner. Their budget line has some pretty good designs. I'm a big fan of their Launch series as well. What is currently your favorite knife?

The Pocket Perspective my current would have to be the Emerson Wave PM2 BladeOps exclusive. It’s not the typical PM2 due to the blade shape but I can understand why people love to carry it, the deployment is fun and smooth. I often rotate it with my Starbenza 21 Insingo due to the size. It’s a hefty knife so a smaller Sebenza works just fine as an EDC. All time favorite will have to be the Benchmade 940. The ambidextrous lock and smoothness makes it a winner in my book.

Outstanding review, I have this KERSHAW LEEK in the same orange variation. I purchased mine just over 5 year's ago on July 4th 2017 from Amazon and it is still in pristine LIKE NEW condition. I personally love this knife and I highly recommend it for (EDC) purposes. Thanks for posting this video.

I have had mine for about 6 months now and I love it! Still razor sharp from the box, haven’t had to sharpen it yet!

Great review. I have been carrying a gifted kershaw clash for six weeks to see if i need a knife in tge limited real estate of my pockets. I work an office job. I'd love a video from experienced edc knife owners describing what they use their knives for. I've found that i need to remind myself to use the knife. The more I use it, the more I find uses for it. I know many folks collect knives and sometimes the reviews and explainers seem somewhat focused on collecters needs. But i think 'the only knife you need is the knife you have' is not interesting to someone like me.

Was gifted an identical Leek today. Love the knife with the 14C28n steel, hate the clip. Found an orange titanium deep carry clip and ordered it. Should make a nice addition. Was an awesome slicer for Christmas ham today. Thanks for the review!

Just got one of these. Almost didn’t, because there’s no deep carry clip. most of my collection has that feature and I tend to carry them more often than others. But I found some replacement deep carry pocket clips on eBay 👍🏼

I've had this same model for 10 years and find it a great lightweight knife. The only 2 things I absolutely don't like are the useless blade safety lock and the pocket clip. I would like to see Kershaw remove the safety lock and install a deep carry pocket clip. In my opinion with these changes it would out sell the existing models. But hey what do I know, I'm just a guy who's been carrying pocket knives for 60 years and buys what I like.

I bought two to run different edges on and now they see more carry time than my spyderco knives.

This is a great knife for people getting their first knife. It’s so slim and easy to carry. It’s the only knife I’ve ever been able to get my gf to carry. It’s really unobtrusive.

If you remove the spring what will hold the blade closed? It is my understanding that the spring holds the blade closed.

It’s a fantastic knife for light utility, great slicer, it’s 100% not meant to Pry with whatsoever. 😂

Not a huge knife guy, I do have a few Benchmade knives including an Infidel my buddy gave me that he received from the military when he left as well as a few Spyderco knives. But I've carried the same Kershaw Chive for the past 10 years or so. I dont really work it too hard and I won't be that upset if I lose it or break it. My biggest complaints are the safety is plastic and mine broke after I dropped the knife, as well as the tip. Mine still has the tip but several buddies have managed to break the tip off of several different styles of Kershaw.

I just got this for my girlfriend. Its cool, she loves it. I cut my finger with it within the first 5 minutes of having it out of the box by depolying the knife with my other hand in the way🤠

One thing that you forgot to mention: in your jeans pocket you’ll forget it’s there. It is completely unobtrusive. Even fits in my coin pockets if I choose to.

How does that orange finish hold up over time? Does it wear off ?

    • @rkcnimbus995

I've had mine for over five years, been my EDC the entire time, and finish holds up perfectly aside from me dropping it on a concrete floor.

The only knife I’ve carried since 2009 is a leek and my wife gets me a new one every Christmas now and the only thing I have trouble with is breaking the tip on them. I just angle it off and go on with my day. Never had the first finish issue and I carried my first one for 3 years.

If you work, you should buy a leek. Even if you don't, or one of those tacticool people that care about super steels that you'll never utilize, you should as well as they make those too.

If this was a self defense knife I'd say deep carry is a problem but since it isn't and it's more like an edc for edc things..... who cares

The American flag never runs! The blue field always faces forward. It's a military thing.
