Have had and used this knife for years. Bought it because of the type of blade style. Bought to use as EDC and utility knife on my Alpaca ranch. Great for getting into tight areas, cutting rope knots, bindings, hoses, tubes, feed binding etc. Plus having an almost scalpel sharp tip to use to lance boils and work on injuries is a great plus. I have one of the first models and my belt clip is about 1/3 inch shorter than the one shown in the video. NO issues with tension or the knife coming out of my front pocket. Had to replace the tension bar once in the 10+ years I have owned the knife. Does keep a very sharp edge for a long time and through a lot of use. I have other knives and tools for harder use but for daily ranch use and EDC it is great. Needed a knife with a sharp point that I could open and close one handed.
I found your video to be the best one for my needs . I’m new to the knife scene and wasn’t sure what to look for on a good knife so the explanation of thin blade vs thick helped narrow my search. I also really appreciated to see the reviewed knife ACTUALLY cutting …. Most of the videos I’ve seen don’t even show the knives in action keep up the good work
Love this knife! I own 3. It's my EDC. The clip works great for me, factory setting. Slightly broke only ones tip and was easily sharpened back to a point. The blade stays sharp for weeks between work and play...Great review, thx
He’s right about it being an easy knife to lose due to it’s clip geometry. That’s how I got mine, finding it after someone unfortunately lost it. It’s a great, sharp knife. Yes, I reported it to lost and found.
I'm super hard on my leek and it is a workhorse. It's the only knife I will carry. I've broken the tip off one but only because I was throwing it into a box that had a glass vase in it. I thought the box was empty. But I throw them into wood and cardboard regularly with no issues.
I am right handed and have always carried my pocket knife in my front left pocket. I don't know who carries there knife in the same side as there Dominant hand. If its ever an emergency I'm using my dominant hand to either fend someone off while my non dominant hand goes for my knife or in a car accident I'm using my dominant hand for escape while my non dominant hand can go for my knife to cut my seat belt or what not. I would never carry in my dominant pocket. If you take your clip of you can change the retention on the clip so whoever says it dosnt have good retention needs to work for a living and do things themselves. Just saying
Love the Leek and I have several. Great EDC knife. My biggest complaint is the clip will easily bend if you catch it on something while in your pocket. The pocket exposure is larger than other similar size knives and that creates a lever of sorts due to the clip location. The good news is Kershaw will send free replacement parts but it's a hassle and an ongoing problem.
Only a TRUE knife collector/blade enthusiast can appreciate your knowledge in this review. Nice review, thanks. Awesome facts about the steel used, and heat treatment...Great points.
I watch knife reviews quite often and all the reviews of yours I have watched have been very enjoyable. You stay on topic well and only talk about relevant factors. I’m actually considering getting a leek now simply because of this video. I also really like your rating scale and I wouldn’t mind seeing more knives rated against each other with your scale. I dont know if reviewing knives is something you want to do more often but I just wanted to say you do a darn good job. Thank you truly.
I know this might be a strange question, but what kind of wood was this review done on? I've been trying to figure it out by sound, since I am hoping to make a desk out of that material, but if you have an idea I'd love to know
For me it's 3.5 to 4 blade length that I like. I wouldn't go as far as saying the leek is high quality. I'd say more middle ground and or averge. WANT to see a uggly clip check out kizer nomads clip it's horrable. Or gerber flat iron clip horrid.
Please don’t harm yourself or anyone else. It is a sharp knife that can cut deep with very little pressure. Be careful with it and if you are suicidal please get help.
As a lefty, I would definitely give this a try. Maybe, I'll keep a look out for a cheaper china made version to buy, since I will never spend more than $10 on a knife. Strings, packages, occasional light duty, just don't demand a super steel, imho. Great review, and thanks, liked, and subbed.
Wtf? This knife is definitely designed to carry in your front right pocket. How the heck are you pulling it out of your pocket lol?? It comes perfect for that from the factory before you fucked it up and swapped the clip and made it stick out so much. All you have to do is stick your damn thumb in your pocket, pull up, rotate it slightly and open it with your index finger.

Heck yes! Thanks
Finally some actual cutting demonstrations. Bought the red and black leek today. Under $40

does it open in your pocket without the lock engaged? i am looking at buying the $72 composite blade

Why do you throw your knives in boxes so much?
It's the only knife I carry for 25 years .
Leek is awesome
Can’t wait till my black leek comes in thank you for the advice
I love that it's hollow grind ,if you do food prep on edge of chopping board you could use all blade

I just got my Blackwash Leek today. I heard that you can buy deeper pocket clips from different manufacturers

Thanks for the comment. I try. There are so many quality knives on the market these days, it can be difficult to choose.
I approve of this message 😉
Love the Sandvik steel is my favorite!
This is my go to envelopener.
LynchNW makes a deep carry clip for the Leek. With that clip, this might be a better carry knife than the 940-1.
Thanks
Okay
Ok?
One of my favorites. They have a design flaw with the pivot screw seat. I’m not kidding.
I have 3.
Damascus
Cpm 154
Rainbow
Hard use= Brawler or Blur.
Moderate/light use: Leek,Chive
The Chive is tiny. I'd say the Scallion is the step down in size below the Leek. All great knives.
Did you sharpen the blade for the video? Mine came out of the box dull. Could not smoothly slice through paper.
Nice review brother well done! You covered everything my friend which sometimes ain't an easy thing.... Bravo
Is it just me or does he sound like the “SlapChop” guy. 10/10 review 😂

Okay ? Okay ? I laughed my ass of :) Thanks for this great video
GOSH, that leek gives me the WOW factor sOOOO much! I want it!
Did ya get it yet?
Same. Just ordered one for $30 super excited to get it
The business man who doesn’t want a pocket clip will rejoice.
Very easy to remove most clips.
I’ve lost 3 of these because of the clip.. i just found one and bent the clip so it has good tension now.
Also super easy to put an edge on it.
Tighten the screws on the clip to keep it in place.
Subtle and superb expert review. I have a beautiful EDC Kershaw scallion. A very fair review. I will subscribe.
Great review dude. Had a few facts the others did not mention.
Nice and sharp. Nice job. Run her on a leather strop a few times and I bet she would be a laser beam....
Thanks. Nice job..Okay
I own 2, Jimmy and Jack, I love them both! (I know i'm that geek that names knives lol)
Ésa navaja se resbala de la mano con mucha facilidad, y por ésta razon es un problema usarla.!
Are you speaking from personal experiences?
Si
I think I paid 56$ on Amazon and the handle is olive green

How does it perform on brachial arteries?

Quite well I must say

ugg, im sorry about your life
Do not buy a cheap counterfeit version. It could fail and cause bad injuries or death.
Sub’d & Bell’d Read reviews thank you
okay
idk why its got such a sensitive open if you have to engage the lock for it to be safe to be carried
Ok
I use my leek to cut slivers and junk out of my skin and to cut nylon bands at work.
