    So that is me. I actually went back to the Temple with my wife after only 6 weeks. Her experience was very different from mine, but just as healing and empowering. My 2nd experience was MORE expansive than the first. There aren't words. Having been to 2, w/ 2 very different mixes of ppl attending each, I can say that there is something special about the Temple. Everyone leaves with deep connection,understanding and healing. There is much love. I'm happy to answer any questions if it might help

    There is a difference between looking for a good high, and approaching these medicines with respect and a ceremonial mindset. The former approach seeks to feed the ego; the latter approach seeks to transcend it.

    So beautiful! I was 52 years old when I first heard about ayahuasca. I had the same feeling that you had. As soon as I heard about it, I knew I had to do it. It was a calling. So happy for you that you got to have this amazing experience. Stay connected to nature so you don’t lose that feeling. I feel so much more grateful for my life, the earth, the moon, sun, wind, sky, stars, animals, trees, plants, etc.!

    Seth, thank you so much for sharing your insights on your experiences. Your testimonials are the best ones I've listened to yet because you actually share information on a more intellectual level than the usual "GUSHING< OMG>THIS IS SO INCREDIBLE> type of review that doesn't give you much information about what changes actually occur as a result of doing the ceremonies. I am very interested in getting down there to try this out, as my healing journey needs to get to another level and this might be the way to get there. Due to the distance and cost of travel, it is helpful to research and figure out what to expect, and your testimonials helped.
    Thanks a lot.

    Steven, I can't say much about other places. I have heard that there are many unscrupulous people taking advantage of ayahuasca tourists. I can tell you that the experience at the Temple is as pure in intention and powerful in experience as anyone could want, and the Temple itself is a beautiful place, staffed by caring and helpful people. You won't have to worry about anything while you are there, including transportation to and from.

    I've known since I was little that what I was experiencing was not how we were meant to be. A deep sense that something is not right. When I took the sacred medicine (bufo) the wisdom of the universe and the unity of all things let me know that feeling was correct. That feeling that society tried to squash was true and pure.
    That timestamp reflects what sacred medicine can do. That self you were will be forever obliterated. To touch the base resonance of the universe, infinite peace and love.

    @42enny-- I understand your concern. This is powerful stuff. All I can say is that you will know when you meet the staff &the maestros and maestros and once in ceremony you will experience profound healing that can only be characterized as your birthright. You will know it is pure. The Temple is such a beautiful and healing place, with every nook and cranny lovingly cared for to optimize healing that you will know as soon as you arrive. It is a leap of faith, but one I am so grateful for taking.

    I think this is a tough conversation to have over the internet. Very nuanced and personal. Just know that I connected to something I used to assume did not exist. Your experience as a fundamentalist Christian is likely very different than my experience, but that is an assumption on my part. I like Terence McKenna's take on things (to paraphrase): nobody's experience matters. What matters is the direct presence of felt experience. All else is gossip, assumption, hearsay or speculation.

    You sound as though you have been on a path that will have prepared you to connect deeply with the plants. I've seen many people with fear-based patterns benefit greatly from ceremony. The same with people who struggle with mind over heart. If it feels as though the plants are calling you then follow the calling. You won't be led astray.

  • @sethro221

    No malaria meds. Malaria is a low risk in the area of the Temple. Just used natural repellant as needed (which is rare for me--I'm not that attractive to mosquitos, it seems). Long sleeves and pants in the evenings are a good idea. Also I heard B complex vitamins are helpful, so I started taking one twice a day. Not sure if it helps or not, but I figured it can't hurt.

  • @sethro221
    @sethro221 12 лет назад

    @SpiritQuest--the fees for a workshop are on the Temple's website. If cost is an issue there are work-exchange programs that decrease the cost significantly and are powerful in the way that you are contributing to the work of the Temple. The Temple uses profits from the visitors to help fund a non-profit called Alianza Arkana, which is doing important work in Amazonian environmental protection and indigenous rights. Whatever money spent there is well spent.

    @ikaukiel-thank you for saying so. I feel so deeply grateful for the Temple and its work that I wanted very much to try to express my experience so that others might be able to understand a little. The cost of a workshop is 5,000 soles (which you can find the exchange rate for your country's currency), unless you are interested in a work-exchange program, which offsets some of the cost. That includes travel to and from Iquitos, room and board while you are there. The cost of traveling to Iquitos varies, and most people stay in Iquitos one night before and after, which is very cheap, even at the nicer hotels.

    i, personally can appreciate the naivete in the masses. the information these entities share is relative to our ability to understand, and our ability to understand is correlated with how far outside of our culture we are able to step away. culture gave a name and a face to god, our ability to understand the nature of things is limited by that which has been defined. i have to work for what i know and that makes it personal. to break the mold means i have my own relationship with the cosmos.

    Under the treatment of experienced maestros this is nothing to worry about. Most of the negativity people experience are their own inner demons, which come to the front of their minds on their way out of the psyche. Many make a lot of noise while being evicted. You can feel safe at the Temple, as the maestros are extremely experienced and motivated only by helping you along your healing path.

  • @sethro221
    @sethro221 12 лет назад +1

    @Krishan--that is a very personal question. I don't think there is an age that ceremony is not appropriate for an adult as long as it feels right to you. I'm not sure if more life experience is necessarily helpful and the clarity and insight that is possible is certainly useful at any age. Listen to your heart and I'm certain you will know what is right for you.

The cost is 5,000 soles (you can search for a currency calculator for your country's currency).You are not too young--there have been many people about your age there. As for what happens, that is a big conversation. Take a look at the website and let me know if you have questions.

    The Shipibo tradition uses ayahuasca to tap into plant spirit healing. This requires a maestro who has spent years in training & dieting plants. Ive spoken to people who have done aya without a shaman & those who have been with ones who do not use plant spirit healing. All say the experience with Shipibo shamanism is the most powerful and healing they have had. I think aya with no shaman is a little like anesthesia without a surgeon-fun & interesting, poss life-changing, but not all it could be.

I study buddhism and work with chakras and generally have a good life. My intellectual interest in most of what I do seems to be to be an obstacle to my connection with nature and people. @ethiotoronto That's how the medicine is; it's different for everybody. Many of the people that go to the Temple are experiencing the medicine for the first time, so, naturally, their experience might not be as expansive as Aubrey's. We are used to consistency being the marker for reality, but when you are experience the vastness of infinity, experiences can vary wildly. It's a big universe, and there is much to experience and perceive.

    Do you not think, though, that what you experienced is a form of empiricism so central to science? That you have acquired knowledge through your senses that provided evidence for a reality beyond what contemporary science is able to measure? I think there is real beauty in science, but - and it is a big but - that our science is limited by our human limitations and our cultural limitations that are a result of our human-ness... do you think ayahuasca is so powerful because it liberates our spirit from the human and shows us something beyond ourselves, within ourselves; something that is within all other animals - all matter? Despite ayuasca's teachings: we are animal, we are matter - but there is more to it...and that glimpse into more simultaneously humbles the human and elevates all other forms of life...thank you for sharing your experiences!

    I found several of these places actually work with people who have small incomes like non profit/work exchange programs and similar? I would much rather go there and work hard for a month to get a free program, in fact I would prefer that over paying only any day! But if you cannot afford the plane ticket not much to do I guess, it´s not easy to find a cargo ship so I can work for my trip either, wish I could find a cargo ship for free trip there but no results form searching EU - Peru???

    This guy reminds me of Bob Blumer from The food network.
    Sounds amazing, I would like to experience this sometime.

    Hi Seth :)
    After I saw your video and some others, also read about Ayahuasca on the internet, there was no doubt in my mind that this is what I have been looking for!
    I was looking for something, I don´t even know what, but I knew that I wanted to go somewhere and still want to go somewhere, to reconnect with nature and just find myself in this world. Maybe it does not make sense to anyone, but it makes sense to me so I was just wondering if you could answer some questions :) ?

    This is always a personal choice, but I don't think there is a specific emotional state that is proper for ceremony. Give it some open-hearted thought and if it feels right, I'm sure it is for you. Many people, myself included, go to the Temple hoping to work on places where they struggle. Everyone I've talked to has gotten all they hoped to get from their visit, and then some. I'm sure your experience will be the same in that regard.
