I think adding weapons to the early game when needed is just as valid as swapping Eirika for whatever unit you're testing. Like at some point you either do this or the answer to the question is "No, I can't solo the game." The early game needs weapons as much as it needs the character itself so it's perfectly valid to just add them in.
I actually added a Fort in the Prologue and changed the AI in Chapter 1 for most of the units that initially spawn to "do not move" (to make sure Amelia can get to Franz without have Franz aggro anything.), so it makes Amelia runs out of the prologue and CH1 less of an RNG fest.
100% agree. I had a very similar thought process for my first Sacred Stones playthrough. I figured Bishop would be far more fitting of a promotion for Artur, but the contrast between the battle sprite's neat trim versus his bedhead in his portrait really bugged me, so I picked the class with the closer-matching hair and essentially used him like he was a cooler-looking Bishop lol.

I think the Bishop class was the right call, simply because of Slayer. Sage would have taken more Turns because of the gorgons higher Res and without Slayer Purge would have done like 4 damage to the Demon King. Also S ranking gives you a +5 hit and +5 crit bonus on that weapon, adding that to the higher Crit chance on Light Tomes.
I prefer making him a sage when I play, but if you're using him for a challenge run, bishop is the way to go. The bonus against monsters is just too good to pass up!
I like how the early weapon uses were handled here - if you were normally able to obtain a mage this early, there would almost assuredly be magic available in the shop.

Artur's my favorite FE character of all time, across all the games. There isn't nearly enough content about Artur out there so I definitely enjoyed seeing this challenge!

@@kratosmvn_ Oh yeah absolutely. Would be a banger series to watch, honestly. I love what-if theories and seeing them in action, so it'd be fun to chow down.
I know it isn't the biggest deal, but it was painful when you didn't immediately use the guiding ring as soon as hitting lvl 20, you only lost a little exp but the min/maxer in me was horrified. Great video 👍
Day 145 of support for Knoll Your failed silence strat on Lyon at the end reminded me of the time I tried to berserk Ursula in FE7 and have her start bolting the entire map. I'll let you guess how that one worked out
@@kratosmvn_ Lyon can be unlocked in the post game, right? I know you're saving Seth and pre-promotes for a certain other video that I'm eagerly anticipating. But Lyon should work sometime after that?
Is there going to be some kind of update for Lute with the new tome in the shops rule? I feel like the having to manuever her to perserve the 1 fire tome cost some time and some turns.
It's so clutch that Purge doesn't prompt the final boss to spawn more monsters each round. I wasn't expecting him to have such an easy time against Fomortis. He missed one Purge and health-wise it didn't even come down to last hit. I think we're running out of units that can actually complete this challenge. So I'm calling it now. Artur will remain in the #1 spot.
I wouldn't say there's a unit shortage at all - pretty much any unit with an attack that's not limited-use or bows-only can complete this challenge (Eirika can, Knoll can, Colm... absolutely sucks at this but he can). It's really only healers, archers and Myrrh who can't without bending some rules (or incredible RNG abuse). More importantly, we haven't seen fliers yet, and they are the ones with the best opportunities to save time and turns - Franz came close and he was bogged down in the desert, fliers would save a lot there... and on chapters 7, 10, 20... And Pierce > anything with enough attempts, so it's not like they'd ever get stuck.
@@falsche921 speaking of pierce...if you go with a wyvern knight, you've got to be careful of that freezing glitch if you get a....I think it was a crit pierce with a ranged weapon? That animation plays too quickly for the HP finishing going down from the first attack and the game freezes or something. I think animations being off prevents it though
Dude, I'm super jealous of that unpromoted Artur. I've been doing my first ironman run inspired by yours and my Artur has a measly 11 speed at level 14. I was sure he'd be awesome as he usually is (most of my Arturs end up like the one in the video), but now that the stakes are high this man is incapable of doubling enemies he normally should. At least he's still alive at the end of chapter 13 and he's good bait for Luna users, but the Guiding Ring is going to Natasha this time. I love that shop solution! I'm sure mages being able to restock there would be a thing in vanilla if we had Lute and Artur available that early. We can buy Flux a bit earlier than needed after all. Vanessa run next for our first flier challenge?
He was truly goated! I'm happy to hear you're trying your first Ironman, hopefully, it goes well :) Sorry to hear about Artur, it seems that he doesn't perform well in Ironman runs for some reason lol. Flyer next? Maybe who knows... 👀
@@kratosmvn_ I want to believe doing nuzlocke runs in the Pokemon games has prepared me for this. @@mateobonavento3939 2% Crit on Vanessa? With a Thunder tome? Doesn't she have 4 base luck with a 50% luck growth? If so, man you got super screwed in lck then...
I’m not sure if you want to but on febuilder there is a plugin you can download called “fixed growths” that fixes units being blessed or screwed. For testing purposes i’d recommend it so you don’t get skewed results but If your having fun then I quite like the vids either way.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll be keeping the growths as is because I think it's quite fun to have the luck discrepancy in them and in builds up more excitement for the run on my end.
it would definitly be interesting to use Neimi for Solo run, probably very very very hard too or one of my personal Favourites who I always use Colm. I just love him as an Assasin. Colm wrecks house later on for me with that class.
7:25 not really, because of how gba hit rates actually work with the 2RN (random number) system. Say the hit rate is 40%. When calculating hit chance during battle, the computer randomly chooses a number between 1 and 100, and for the hit to land, the number picked would have to be 40 or lower than it. However, the computer chooses this number *twice* , then averages the result. Because of this, attacks below 50% accuracy actually have a lower percentage of landing, while attack above 50% accuracy have a higher chance of landing
I'll subscribe the day you use Knoll. 😂 My man just keeps digging his grave deeper and deeper. I know he's not a great unit. But he doesn't deserve THAT much hate. On a serious "next playthrough", I want to see Garcia!
Hmm... just thought of something. What do you think of maybe at some point(At least after you do Ephraim's run) where you do another run for Erika and Ephraim(as in a second solo run each of them) but with one small change. That being they have access to their class up item from the start? That way we can see how much better they would do if they could class up sooner then after chapter 16. Again just an idea, but I thought it might be interesting
My honest guess to how that would change things for the two is That Erika would be helped greatly. While Ephraim not as much. Oh don't get me wrong it will help a lot, but Ephraim honestly will probably do really good anyway. Especially in the easier Erika route. I don't think it will help the twins as much as it would some other Lords in the Series. Like Eliwood or Hector from FE7 for example.
Alright here is a run no one will bring up but might as well say it. Myrrh run, given her strength beating the game is possible but seeing the speed in which she can would be cool. And while you can’t beat the game in one dragon stone maybe trying to beat the game in as few dragons stones as possible can be cool. Just a thought for ways it could be more interesting to see the fun of super high power units.
Yeah, I like the idea. Instead of 'how fast can you beat the game with Myrrh' it would be more 'how many dragonstones does it take to beat the game with Myrhh'
heya, when you do these runs, can you put a link to the rom you used in the description or smthn, incase anyone wants to try these runs out but can't use fe builder due to using mobile emulator (I would be shocked if I'm the only one)
Ooh, a solo run This is the first I've seen of Sacred Stones, and with Artur no less I love Artur, he was definitely my ace Because for whatever reason he decided to cap his Defense somehow? And also still capping Resistance, so he was just a total wall that no one could handle But yeah in general his above average stats are great and light magic is awesome for the extra crit so, yeah
Knoll run would be interesting, I wanna see how well and far he can go but I'm rather certain it wont happen ... even still tho, I'd enjoy seein u give him a chance while still memeing him xD
My Artie actually ended up with really high defense, so I mainly used him as a healer/tank, and had moulder use the ivaldi tome. (Also, can we get a knoll solo run?)
I'm curious though, how did you mod the game so that Artur can seize thrones? I like doing solos too, but having to protect the lord and dragging them to the throne tends to be quite tedious Oh nvm, literally just saw a vid on how to do it on your channel 2 minutes ago
I like to make a team of bishops (Natasha, Arthur, Moulder and eventually Riev), which specialize in dark magic, just two of them using Naglfar is a complete overkill XD CE glitch of course is used, but it's my favourite part of this game
You could technically edit the solo run unit to replace the other lord with all of the stat gains you've gotten, if you want to run both the eirika & ephraim routes.
Great Vid! Artur's definitely an amazing unit. One note, you could've probably cleared this way better if you hadn't used an elixer upon fighting Leon, you had enough HP to take one hit, and using the Elixer AFTER Leon would've hit you would've left with your 1 more use for the Demon King. Which would've saved you on that first attempt. So I dare say Artur's definitely Rank 1, for sure. Sure, you might argue Lute was slowed down by the moving around, but Artur would've been done WAY faster if you hadn't made the mistake there. Overall, I'd argue that Artur's definitely the best performance so far!
I do agree as well. I will say that if forced to many try to see if you can make due with one set of elixers and one set of vulnerarys? Thirty extra hit points for the cost of a couple more turns might work out for some. Just an idea
Love this solo runs. Question: have you considered doing path of radiance runs? Iron man or solo. Would love to watch, so many good memories with that game
I would love to see runs for the three Laguz(Is that how it is spelled?) rulers that you get at the end of the game. For no other reason then because it would be funny to see how badly they rekt seeing as their stats are bullshit(Especially the lion one) and That they can always be in their beast forms without penalty
Here an interesting Run Nami as archer are terrible in enemy phase fire emblem what do you do? Or Colm a Theif not ment for combat how much will you rely on assassinated? They might even turn into a "can you beat"
I really appreciate youre videos ! :) But i have a problem , the more i watching stuff like this ..the more i want to play this game for myself :D never did that in the past. Do you own an orginal copy for a GBA or do you have a another media ? Maybe you have an answer for me , in any case...thx for the nice content ! :)
Thank you for the comment, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! For these videos I use an emulator personally for video capturing and modding reason to allow these runs to happen.
Slayer ability is super broken lol. It destroys the difficult chapter easily. But I would love to see how the flying unit performs for solo runs. Will they have trouble due to the large number of archers and no terrain bonus, or will their ability to move without penalty be very useful? Maybe Vanessa will be a good choice to take revenge on your 1st ironman lol
Can we talk about the fact that Garm has +5 speed and the only one who gets weighed down is great knight Amelia by 1 point with body ring? Gleipnir has +3mt but +7Con and gives skl+5. You have knoll/ewan with 10con after body ring. That is -10spd. Have fun getting doubled by the final boss if your speed is
If im being completely honest, i have never used a base Monk in any Fire Emblem game or hack I have played. I've tried to use them, but I've never gotten one to be good, they always get stat screwed or overshadowed for me. The closest ive gotten was using a modded mage who used light magic instead of anima, but even then he still also turned out somewhat poorly and was overshadowed by promoting my healers into Bishops and Valkyries
What I noticed when I played this game is that Artur seemed to crit about 30% of the time while only having a 10% crit rate. Probably confirmation bias but he dealt with difficult situations with a crit so often.
He never gets any showing due to the tedium of unlocking him and lacking anything to use him on, but... how good is Lyon at soloing FE8? He'll have no issue with the early game given that he starts with the unbreakable 25 Mt Naglfar.
Is it not possible to go the Ephraim route at all? Could you not replace seth with the chosen solo character and then send 'seth' with Ephraim? Additionally fucking love these videos.
It is possible. It just requires a lot more tinkering on my end, but I won't do the test (at least yet) to simply keep a certain level of internal consistency. Thank you, I'm very glad you enjoy the videos 😊
Definitely interested to see how the fliers do and of course my girl Marisa. I feel like she's very similar to Eirika so be interesting to see how she stacks up against her. Especially since several in your stream considered her the worst unit in the game. Her or Syrene. lol
Sage damage= 28+(18x2)-Res= 64-Res Bishop damage= 26+(12x3)-Res=62-Res. Honestly, it’s fairly close. But this does favor Sage slightly as this calculation considers Aura instead of Ivaldi. Aura has 5 less accuracy, weighs 2 more, and has less uses. BUT, Aura does have a slightly higher crit chance. Though you’re far more likely to double with Ivaldi due to the +5 speed and lower weight.
Other things of note: most monster magic (and Lyon) is dark type, which has weapon triangle disadvantage against Light while having advantage against Anima. I Iirc staff accuracy also takes Res into account, which gives Bishop a higher advantage. Bishop also has advantage against most enemies as the game progresses due to Slayer, meaning basic enemies outside of bosses will actually be easier to deal with than Sage.
@@kratosmvn_ I think Bishop was the right call, tbh. The Slayer ability made it deal with all the monsters up to the final boss easier to deal with. The benefits provided by Slayer outweighed the slight damage advantage provided by Sage.

@@kratosmvn_ Oh yeah absolutely. Would be a banger series to watch, honestly. I love what-if theories and seeing them in action, so it'd be fun to chow down.
nice run - good job putting it together for us!
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them :)
I know it isn't the biggest deal, but it was painful when you didn't immediately use the guiding ring as soon as hitting lvl 20, you only lost a little exp but the min/maxer in me was horrified. Great video 👍
😂😂😂 honestly I get it! I was a little annoyed at myself, but I hadn't quite made up my mind.
Day 145 of support for Knoll
Your failed silence strat on Lyon at the end reminded me of the time I tried to berserk Ursula in FE7 and have her start bolting the entire map. I'll let you guess how that one worked out
Props to you for being this persistent lol.
I'm gonna bet... not well lmao.
My day was terrible, but now that I've seen you uploaded I have something to look forward too
I'm sorry to hear about your day. Glad this can be a small ray of sunshine to you ❤
Waiting to see a Knoll sufferrun!!! Amazing video as always, great job!
Thank you!
The sufferrun will be fun as heck.
Cool to see a run with a light mage. Could be sick to see you mix it up and have next run feature a dark mage instead
Can't think of any dark mage off the top of my head... 🤔
@@kratosmvn_ if only Sacred Stones had one
@@limevolt7618 😂😂😂
@@kratosmvn_ Lyon can be unlocked in the post game, right? I know you're saving Seth and pre-promotes for a certain other video that I'm eagerly anticipating. But Lyon should work sometime after that?
@@kratosmvn_knoll?
Is there going to be some kind of update for Lute with the new tome in the shops rule? I feel like the having to manuever her to perserve the 1 fire tome cost some time and some turns.
Maybe later down the line, but not for the time being as I'd rather do new characters and adjust later as I get better and better.
Dude I love these videos so much thanks for the awesome content!
I'm very happy you like them! Thank you for the kind words. :D
Haven't finished the video, but loving the uploads! Definitely looking forward to more solo runs!
Glad you enjoy them :)
Bro, great quality videos! Keep it up!!
Thank you 😊
@@kratosmvn_ I've got a Sacred Stones lets play with voice acting if ya ever wanna check it out. More coming 😜
Yoooo! Ive been waiting soooooo long for you to do it with Artur, hes my favorite as you all know
Very well known fact 😂
Purge truly came in as a great option. I think we'll still have a few that can complete the challenge, hopefully haha
@@kratosmvn_ purge on Lute would have made that fight so much simpler too. Keep on trying new strats
LETS FREAKING GO!! ARTUR
Hell yeah!
What’s the upload schedule for the solo runs? Or is it more of a when it’s done? (keep up the amazing work)
It's more when it's done, but technically, I aim for once every 3 weeks even though I haven't hit that consistency yet 😅 (thank you 😄 )
I remember Arthur being my go-to unit for all stat boosts, he would be brute-forced into being the beast in all my saves.
Great unit to invest into since he can dominate the Late game quite well!
1 like=1 speed stat for Knoll so he can dodge in his eventual solo run.
And even then I have my doubts lol
@@kratosmvn_ Oh quit whining. People have soloed Sophia in FE6. And thats way worse.
That’s some pretty bad speed then lol.
I know Vanessa is a prime candidate for an episode soon as the earliest flier but I'd still love to see a Tana or Cormag solo run.
I can't wait to get to all of the flyers done as I love them all, so you may be surprised
Crazy how artur dodged like 10 60% in 4 chapters i would have been hit in every single one of them lol
Yep kinda getting silly lucky there lol
Only four deaths before Grado castle is pretty good for a beginner... but one of those deaths was my beloved Vanessa (2% crit from a Thunder tome that I forgot to check before placing her in range, I failed my girl).
Looking forward to the next video love this series so much
Thank you I'm glad you enjoy these videos
Yeah the best solo FE RUclipsr is back with another challenge!
You're far too kind, thank you.
it would definitly be interesting to use Neimi for Solo run, probably very very very hard too
or one of my personal Favourites who I always use Colm. I just love him as an Assasin. Colm wrecks house later on for me with that class.
Two characters I'm very excited to get to!
Babe wake up, new Kratosmvn upload
😍😍😍
I'm doing a magic and bows-only run of SS right now, and Artur is absolutely a monster. I bet this one is a cinch.
Artur showing everyone how truly goated he is haha
YES IVE BEEN WANTING TO SEE THIS ONE!😭
Awesome! Hope you enjoyed :D
Yeah, I know about 2RN, but the point still stands that we dodge multiple attacks where one would have hit us and kill.
I'll subscribe the day you use Knoll. 😂
My man just keeps digging his grave deeper and deeper.
I know he's not a great unit. But he doesn't deserve THAT much hate.
On a serious "next playthrough", I want to see Garcia!
LOL someone has to be the butt end of the joke and unfortunately it's Knoll.
Ohhhh, Garcia could be fun.
14:47 actually Grado is committing the war crime by attacking a medic
The day he does a larachel solo run will be the best run
Love L'arachel can't wait to get to her :)
Hmm... just thought of something.
It's an interesting idea which I'll def keep in mind for later, could be fun to see how things change for them.
Adding the mage items in the first shop seems fair to me! Equal playing field since it's where weapon users would stock up too
Yeah that was my thought process too!
heya, when you do these runs, can you put a link to the rom you used in the description or smthn, incase anyone wants to try these runs out but can't use fe builder due to using mobile emulator (I would be shocked if I'm the only one)
That's actually a great idea and something I hadn't thought about at all! I'm gonna see if I can make that happen for future runs!
I'm happy to hear that!
and I'm also extremely happy to see your channel grow, and each video getting better than the previous!
@@meinman7591 Thank you for saying that I really appreciate it 🙏
ofc, your videos have helped me through tough times, tho more on that on your next unit video :D
Ooh, a solo run
This is the first I've seen of Sacred Stones, and with Artur no less
I love Artur, he was definitely my ace
Because for whatever reason he decided to cap his Defense somehow? And also still capping Resistance, so he was just a total wall that no one could handle
But yeah in general his above average stats are great and light magic is awesome for the extra crit so, yeah
Artur is a fantastic character for sure and the extra crit from light magic is always fun to have.
Thanks for another video👌
But something bothers me quite little....
Why is hair gone and where is knoll?😂
Knoll who?
haha for the hair do you mean Artur's sprite as a Bishop? Cause that is odd yeah lol
Noup...
I mean your hair🤣.
Saw your Ironmanrun, you had short hair.
Ohhhh, haha I wasn't sure. Just got a little haircut was getting too long lol
Knoll run would be interesting, I wanna see how well and far he can go but I'm rather certain it wont happen ... even still tho, I'd enjoy seein u give him a chance while still memeing him xD
Eventually, I'll try to give him a chance, I'm sure it might actually be a fun video. ;)
My Artie actually ended up with really high defense, so I mainly used him as a healer/tank, and had moulder use the ivaldi tome.
(Also, can we get a knoll solo run?)
Dang the tank Artur, sounds like a fun run.
(I'll get to Knoll eventually).
It really makes me think... how would Natasha have fared if she started off with light magic, if Artur was this dominant?
Natasha I believe could be quite scary for sure.
I'm curious though, how did you mod the game so that Artur can seize thrones?
I like doing solos too, but having to protect the lord and dragging them to the throne tends to be quite tedious
Oh nvm, literally just saw a vid on how to do it on your channel 2 minutes ago
Hopefully you can try that yourself for future runs :)
So how are the molder and Natasha run going to go?
Still not exactly sure, but I'll figure something out :)
I like to make a team of bishops (Natasha, Arthur, Moulder and eventually Riev), which specialize in dark magic, just two of them using Naglfar is a complete overkill XD CE glitch of course is used, but it's my favourite part of this game
Dark bishops sounds cool as heck, much as Riev should have been!
You could technically edit the solo run unit to replace the other lord with all of the stat gains you've gotten, if you want to run both the eirika & ephraim routes.
That's true, but always going through the same route/process does keep an internal consistency that I like.
Thank you :)
Yeah there were a couple of inconsistencies in the turn count unfortunately.
I think Joshua would be a lot of fun and fun to see
I would also love to see how Joshua performs.
@@kratosmvn_ so you’re saying there’s a chance…
3:54 The approach yiu took seems the most fair
I definitely do think you should still treat the Demon King fight as the same map as Lyon for consistency's sake.
Yeah, I do agree, hence why I haven't been using a second elixir yet.
Thank you :)
Yes, I have. I'm planning stuff on other games as we speak, but they might be a tiny bit down the line :)
Or
Colm a Theif not ment for combat how much will you rely on assassinated?
They might even turn into a "can you beat"
Those are gonna be tough ones for sure!
For these videos I use an emulator personally for video capturing and modding reason to allow these runs to happen.
can we get colm and Neimi as a duo run next? I know the series is all solo's so far, but I can't imagine separating the childhood friends.
A duo run for the both of them could be a lot of fun that's true!
"Keep dreaming, keep hoping" - hits differently now that the Knoll solo run is out
Knoll next time! My man is super fun to use as a summoner.
Summoner do be a very fun class!
KratosMVN i have an idea when you do every sacred stones character do them again but with diffrent classes and the average all the scores.
I have thought about it. It's a good idea, might look into doing another series after this one is up, but no promises. TBD
Slayer really went crazy.
There are a lot of interesting components to flyer that I can't wait to test out.
Still gotta have that Knoll run
Eventually... 🤣
Have fun getting doubled by the final boss if your speed is
Knoll may very well be impossible to solo.
You might have to use Eclipse strats. 🤨
Yep, one of the many reason I think Knoll be end up being quite tough.
as Artur said in his book
"In the name of god, I will smite you!"
😂😂😂
Yes sir a new video.
Glad you're excited :)
Honestly, more than fair. We all have experiences that make using certain classes not our go to.
Can you do a FE7 Raven Only run!?
It's in my plans to get to FE7 eventually.
Artur is my favorite FE character, glad to see him get some justice!!
Glad he could shine for you :)
Ready for Knoll to be modded as a starter and you play him through :)
I'm not ready 😂
Chapter 18 must have been so cathartic.
It felt good for once to not get stoned over and over again, lol
The tale of a zealous priest that went by himself to wreck the HELL out of the Demon King!
So since my previous bet was correct, I'll double down with either Vanessa or Neimi for the next video! Can't wait to see it!
The literal devil wanted to come back and rule the world... Artur took that personally. 😂
You're pretty with the guess I'll say!
What I noticed when I played this game is that Artur seemed to crit about 30% of the time while only having a 10% crit rate. Probably confirmation bias but he dealt with difficult situations with a crit so often.
Yeah, I've had a similar experience. I've always seen him as a crit machine despite his crit chance being around 10ish.
It took 2 whole days for YT to recommend this to me.... algorithm is trash. Here's a comment to help. Please don't stop doing these!
RUclips sleeping on the job :(
YES YOU CAN HE IS THE GOAT his bishop goes crazy
His Bishop does truly go brrrrrr
He never gets any showing due to the tedium of unlocking him and lacking anything to use him on, but... how good is Lyon at soloing FE8? He'll have no issue with the early game given that he starts with the unbreakable 25 Mt Naglfar.
I have never tested it out, but I'm tempted to see at some point for sure.
Her or Syrene. lol
Flyers and Marisa have been heavily requested that's for sure!
Will I successfully edit raidant dawn before you make 10 of these impossible challenge!
haha, hopefully you do! Let me know when you have :)
@@kratosmvn_ I'm getting closer
i would like to see a moulder run xD
Gonna have to think that one through haha
Sage damage= 28+(18x2)-Res= 64-Res
Bishop damage= 26+(12x3)-Res=62-Res.
Iirc staff accuracy also takes Res into account, which gives Bishop a higher advantage.
Bishop also has advantage against most enemies as the game progresses due to Slayer, meaning basic enemies outside of bosses will actually be easier to deal with than Sage.
Correction. I was saying Ivaldi but I meant Excalibur.
Thanks for the calculation! So yeah pretty close, but still slight advantage to Sage, however our Bishop did great nonetheless haha
@@kratosmvn_ I think Bishop was the right call, tbh. The Slayer ability made it deal with all the monsters up to the final boss easier to deal with. The benefits provided by Slayer outweighed the slight damage advantage provided by Sage.
