    Great review, Court. I like seeing what's out there at the very high end of the industry. I can't afford it, but I enjoy the review and Chris' input. You guys make a good team. Just the same way I enjoy reviews on high end cars, motorcycles, etc. Please keep it going. =)

    I would no more complain about reviewing unaffordable bikes as I would criticize a car channel reviewing exotic cars. These 8-12k bikes give us a glimpse at what technology will be like in a few years at the 2k price point.

      @Martin Schmidt I don't have an iPhone because I couldn't afford to replace it if I broke or lost it. However, all manufacturers have two-tiered pricing because they understand not all people will pay their asking price. I recently bought an Ariel m-class at a substantial discount, so if I lose the bike it won't hurt too much.
      I've called a number of eBike manufacturers; with no exceptions they all offer discount pricing, thank God.

    It's interesting to see the updates/improvements they've made 3 years later. Most pointed out as problems in this video - Front rack mounting, water bottle dropouts and more display options. Less fun is the price now vs. then. Ouch!

    Considering there are high end carbon fiber road bikes (non-electric) that are up in this price stratosphere, it makes sense there would be some ebikes priced where these models are priced. I don't like it, but I do understand it.
    R&M must get enough sales to stay in business or they wouldn't be in business. I'd love an R&M ebike but I'm not spending more than $3,500 and especially since ebikes depreciate so quickly.

    • @newschoolnerd
      @newschoolnerd 5 лет назад +1

      Keep an eye out for ex-demo bikes. That might be a way to get an R&M in you price range. We usually offer ours at the end of the season and many people appreciate the opportunity to get a quality bike at a more approachable price.

    The more I learn about Reise Muller the more I like They are expensive but it’s all relative my mountain bike was $3 k over 10 years ago. And that bike still runs perfectly. So $7k for a tricked out Ebike isn’t totally crazy.

    You get a good piece of technic, design and durability. Well, the price is quite high. However, market price for an high level road bike or mtb comes close to that price region. I think that's same class of extravaganza having not in mind from time to time cycelists but enthusiasts riding almost dayly for next 8 to 10 years on that.

  • @tonyyates2012

    It's the same concept I'm going for with my bike, except mines a third of the price and half the weight.
    I want a go "anywhere" kind of bike, interchangeable, a rolling contradiction.
    No doubt thats a very nice bike with some great features, but it well out of my price bracket.
    Nice review Court and co.

    Maybe I've missed it, but I'd like some ball-park idea of what range to expect with a 625Kwh battery. No one seems to be talking range. I've been to the Bosch calculator but quite honestly, it's confusing and just a crap design so I came away fast and frustrated. Can anyone give me some realistic idea of what to expect please?

    Hi love seeing your unbiased reviews. As a lady of advancing years living in the UK I am looking for an E bike and quite fancy the Raleigh Motus Grand Tour. Please if possible could you do a review of this bike, as there are no videos on that bike here in the UK. Cheers.

    What’s the issue with the Gen 2 motor? My research seems to indicate there’s a drag when pedaling beyond the limit or without assistance. Is it coming out with a Gen 3 or 4 Motor??

    I like seeing high end expensive bikes as part of an overall variety, all types for all people. If every bike was under a few thousand it might be difficult to keep it from getting boring. But I assumed a couple years ago we wouldn't see prices so high at this point. I now have doubts a 7 grand bike will trickle down to the average joe anytime soon.

    Court & Chris, thank-you for this post. Q). The new "M I K" rack now being used for R & M looks identical to the "Rack Time" (I'm judging only from the video). Now, are the "Rack Time" mounting system & "Rack Time" accessories compatible & work with the M I K rack? This is an important question for me as I own a "Racktime" equipped R & M Nevo (2018) along with several accessories-and will soon be purchasing a 2nd Nevo for my wife. It would be sweet if all my accessories can be used also on my wife's bike. Thanks Guys.

    Still loving my R&M Delite GT NuVinci that I purchased last year from Chris. It's still going strong with the only maintenance being the recent replacement of the disc brake pads (a normal consumable item). The belt drive is a great no-maintenance item; just jump on the bike and go!
    The Nevo with Rohloff looks like a great pairing of the Bosch drive, clean and reliable belt drive, and 526% (not degrees, I believe your use of that term is incorrect) gear range. All-in-all, R&M remains the "Apple" of E-bike design, in my opinion. Keep up the great reviews!

    I'm waiting for a bike with on board motion sensors that work out elevation, cadence, tilt and braking all connected to an automatic drive and braking system.
    No more manual shifting, better efficiency, smoother ride.
    Built in, bluetooth connected front and rear cameras would be nice..

  • @philodygmn

    The surprisingly weak racks and relatively low torque keep this from being a viable city bike for me due to the combination of bumper grocery runs and steep hills, but it's got almost everything else right. I just wish someone would make a bike like this using the nice quiet and powerful Bafang…ideally for less than an arm and a leg.

    • @newschoolnerd
      @newschoolnerd 5 лет назад +1

      philodygmn if Bafang had the same quality and support as Bosch I imagine they would consider it. But dealing with them is a harrowing experience. Bafang is opening a US office, but they don’t plan to offer any parts or support. As someone who eats and sleeps Ebikes, Bosch is hands down the best motor company to work with.

    • @philodygmn
      @philodygmn 5 лет назад

      Chris at Propel My perspective as a buyer is that I have no interest in paying for, owning, and using something that irritates me when I could instead have something that does not. I certainly cannot blame you for Bafang's problems, but neither am I moved by your troubles with them as a dealer other than concerns with maintenance should they arise. This is for me a minor concern since I cannot afford lots of maintenance in any event, and Bafang's reliability is good. Carry what you must, Chris, and I respect that, but I definitely want what I want, and that is definitely not an obnoxious motor. ✌️
