- Door swap time!!!! But, before I began the project I needed to come up with a good name for the Pimp Edition XK. So, I shall call him... GATOR! Haha! Paying homage to the pimp name for Will Ferrel in "The Other Guys". My door panel broke and your window don't roll down so that box you didn't know think that's what it deals with cause my door buttons has to that ain't plugged In. Just a guess though😊

Hey Dan nice work on the door swap 👍 I was wondering what the difference in the door speakers are vs a regular model? Are they the same in both Jeeps ? Black beauty is still so clean it's a damn shame someone ruined her .
Hi Dan I'm just want to throw out an idea to you. Anyway hear goes if you haven't thought of this yet how about taking the Hemi out of your wreaked Jeep and put it in your Cherokee. And 1 ton axles. And a full Barnes frame kit I think you will for sure be up town for sure. Anyway happy building
These Commanders are cheap as chips ( fries:) here in the UK but don't have a great reputation for reliability. The XJ sold very well here but later Jeep iterations weren't popular, other than the Wrangler. Curious to know how would you rate the Commander Vs the XJ reliability wise? Big fan of the squared off styling but don't need another rolling project - that's your department 😆 Love the channel 🖐️

oh man, your probably better off just finding a new XK with a hemi. it will save you time and money!

Hi Dan, Im out here on the south shore. Got a question: What are your thoughts on eliminating the mechanical cooling fan on a 01 xj 4.0 and using electric only?
I had a heat soak issue if I went into the store for like 10 minutes. Hooked up a momentary pb in the cab and adjustable (up to 3 min) time delay relay for cool it off for those short time periods when the temp rise vaporizes the fuel in the rail. Seems to work but its still spring. Have you done all electric or know someone that has? If so what is the opinion? Engines tight with 125K, I installed new injectors not to long ago, and the fuel pressure in the rail doesn't bleed down over time when off. Thanks, Tom
Hey what's up Tom! I have mixed feelings about this... The mechanical fan isn't great but it's always there when you need it.. I've seen three core aluminum radiators with three electric fans that look very tempting to use but there are a lot of money.. I wouldn't settle for a cheap knock-off fan set cuz I wouldn't want to be left dead in the water God forbid the e fan break somehow. Maybe if you put two fans on the normal circuit and one of the fans on a manual switch with a time delay relay that could be really cool.. on my old Jeep I removed the air box and modified a second XJ electric fan to blow right at the fuel rail. while you're in there give yourself a good coolant flush.

Not sure Buddy.. I haven't taken off the hatch. It's probably just 4 or 6 15mm bolts tho. You'll probably have to take out some interior trim to access the plug
Can't use gator...I already have a jeep with the headliner made out of gator skin... It's name is gator... Been gator for some years now... Cu gator ain't about no shit. ain't ever been about no shit
