I just did this on my 2010 XLT. Your video was thorough and awesome. Took me 6 hours but I also replaced the intake gaskets, cleaned the throttle body and replaced the fuel filter.

I've never had automotive repair experience like this before, and even though it took me 4 1/2 hours to complete, this was a well put together guide. Thanks for the help y'all

Excellent video, just did it in 35 minutes. No need to remove the EGR. My 10mm were pretty rusty and I just left the EGR installed on the intake manifold. You obviously still need to remove the 1 1/16" EGR tube nut.

Wow man that was a very in depth tutorial thank you so much. I was able to replace the sensor and put everything back together from your video. Those 10ml bolts were a trick tho, probably took the longest, mine were rusted on. I let Penetrate oil sit overnight and was only able to get them off with a air ratchet

Great video, exactly what I was looking for. RUclips Algo's don't seem to pick it up well, but found it when looking through your Explorer 2006-2010 Playlist. Thanks for putting this together - I love ya'lls videos. Heading to 1A now for the parts.

What made you replace the fuel pressure sensor? My truck runs fine for a second then it starts to feel like it’s drowning and smells like gas

I am so glad I saw your video and stuck around and watched until the end. I can be really impatient and was ready to go ahead and tackle the problem. With that said your video was very helpful well said and well done for me to comprehend. Thank you

Adding another comment. You can leave the EGR valve on the air intake manifold and there will be enough room to pull on the air intake with it on. You still have to disconnect the vacuum hose and electrical connector. That means it’s easier to take off and install with the manifold out of the car.

Hey I left the EGR connected, I took out the bolt on the passenger side, and left the other one in, I disconnected the intake from the engine disconnected the line on top of the cover, dus connected the two in the back with clamps, disconnected the one in the back wall with the tight space.
Then I lifted the valve cover and took the rail sensor out and replaced it, cut down the time a little.

What's the reason for removing the air filter housing, egr and throttle body? Those seem like completely unnecessary steps if all one needs to remove is the intake manifold to get to the sensor.

This is for 06-10 Explorers, but it's the first video I have found that comes close to my 2004 model. Most have the sensor at the end of the fuel rail and not under the intake. I had a few minor differences, but it has gotten my car fixed and hopefully I'll know in a few days if the light stays off.

I had the same issue for my 2005 Explorer, I think it's under the intake and not off to the side like a lot of other videos suggest.

Can someone help me with the connector on top of the intake just to the driver side of the throttle body. It connects to the nipple on the intake manifold. I followed the video and that connector is gone. I can't find it laying to the side anywhere.

Ugg, of course the torx is so rusty cant get them out, changed ERG and o2 sensor, check engine lite off now, but still low idle at rest and park, ugg. Cant get the fuel pressure regulator sensor changed because rusty torx bolts. Runs great while driving, response great and instant, but still chuggs while parked. Will check codes tomorrow .

I’d like to know what on earth the Ford Engineer/team that designed to place this sensor under the intake manifold was thinking of when this was designed. Truly terrible engineering.
