R.E.Wilhelm III Oh - you probably refer to the scene where - out of the nothing - two most beautiful legs appear in the most elegant way and the ice princess starts up to save Mr. 007 with a fulminant driving solo on the ice-track-race in a small Swiss village? Yes - if there was ever a fairy tale - then this is it!! I love it! ❤️

Well said. I think I was the biggest fan of Dame Diana. Loved her work in all of her post Emma Peel work: The Hospital with George Scott. Theatre of Blood with Vincent Price. And a wonderful performance of Medea on Broadway. Plus the lead on a British television show Mother Love. Never really got to meet her but did spend some time interviewing Patrick Macnee her lead co partner in the Avengers as John Steed. A class act all in her own league.

What separates her from all the others is this: when you see any of the other Bond girls, you more or less lust for them. When you see Diana Rigg, you want to literally jump through the screen, take her away and abandon any pretense of a former life! The other girls can arouse but with just one look, Diana reaches right down into your soul and captures you forever. She is mesmerizing! She was truly one of a kind.

Diana Rigg touched the minds and hearts of millions of people whom she never met, nor knew,, because of her great acting talent, intelligence, humour, and beauty. I am tearful at her loss, but in a strange way not sad. Because she accomplished so much in her profession. From her television years in the " Avengers " to her cinematic roles. From Shakespeare to the Greek tragedies. But for me she will always be Mrs. Emma Peel in " The Avengers, " from my boyhood. She was perfect. You are free Diana of " the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to." A line from Shakespeare's " To be or not to be." From Hamlet.
    From the Republic of Ireland.

(But then, when Vesper is dead, M explains that there was no such betrayal and that Vesper had effectively sacrificed herself in the hope of saving Bond, which see did. And then we don't quite know Bond thoughts about her... Until, that is, No Time To Die when Bond visits her grave and says aloud that he misses her and writes a note to her simply saying "forgive me" - even though he now loves Madeleine Swann to the same degree...).

Many years ago, I read all of Fleming's novels, and I have always felt this is one of the truest adaptations.
In the books, there is an element of growth and, for want of a better term, serialisation to the Bond character that is perhaps inevitably missing from the movies.
This growth is reflected here in the fact that James finds and falls in love with Diana Rigg's character (absolutely the best Bond girl).
That final scene is terribly heart breaking and poignant, and all Fleming, even if set in a different location in the film.
And sadly, its totally ignored in subsequent films except for a passing reference in one of the Timothy Dalton movies (another underrated Bond in my opinion). Though I'll confess, I quit watching after that era so I may have missed other references.
And as many have mentioned, the soundtrack was sublime. A much, much underratee Bond movie!

Diana Rigg was the quintessential Bond girl! She had it all. Looks, charm, innocence yet strong, compassion. Everything a man could hope and pray for was possessed by Diana Rigg! You could feel the chemistry between the two in the movie. It was both iconic and beautiful! The best Bond ever, period!

What a great couple and what a beautiful and memorable song. Great film and very effective and convincing interpretation. Only recently almost everyone agrees that Lazenby was a worthy heir of Sean Connery and that he should have starred in all subsequent Bond films.

The best Bond film. No gadgets, a lot of plot. Everybody knocks Lazenby because he followed Connery, and he only did one film.

The best Bond film and the best "Bond girl" of them all. George Lazenby was great as Bond, more so considering it was his first acting experience and he had to replace none other than Sean Connery. Regarding Diana Rigg, she was a classy goddess from "The Avengers" days and during her theatre and film career. We'll surely miss her all the time in the world.

Glad that I saw OHMSS before No Time to Die. OHMSS is a great movie. This soundtrack is perfect. I love this soundtrack in Tracy and James scenes. Its awful how he grabs her arm and she tells him that he hurts her. And then how he slaps her. I do love their scenes later on. Tracy had to be special and unique. She's probably best Bond girl. With Vesper he felt betrayal even in the novels. As sad as it is James wouldn't settle into a married life. He would always think about his duty and bad guys would be still after him.
