John Barry - We Have All the Time in the World - slow strings

- This version of the song by John Barry, from the 1969 James Bond film, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", consists primarily of only strings and is the slowest of any version I have heard. I think it is the most beautiful and haunting of any version out there. I have edited out the jazzy Bond theme music that comes at the end of this version, great as that music is, because it does ruin the mood...
They say that this 1969 episode was about the only girl Bond ever really fell in love with. That's why I chose to play this at my wife's funeral as my one and only love of my life.
the end of no time to die and this starts to play , it was beautiful
Wasn‘t it? I couldn’t help crying a bit at that moment … over the ending (no spoilers) in general … over the fact that this is Craig’s last one … and how beautiful it is to pay homage to one of the better Bond films by using this music.
@@106001185 On Her Majesty is not my favourite Bond film, but yes I cried at the end of No Time To Die!
I'm sure there were a few bars in the scene in Italy as the DB5 with Bond and Swann drove around a few majestic corners of scenery. It was very reminiscent of OHMSS and emotive.
and the fact that they used this in the newest movie ”no time to die” is beautiful 😢
Did tie it all together in the finale... I cried :-)

RIP Diana Rigg - 20 July 1938 - 10 September 2020. Now we will have all the time of the world to remember you forever !
Thank you!
@@jamescombs8316 2020, the year where the Best Bond and the Bond girl died
Stunning lady x
The definitive orchestral version. Barry should have received the Oscar for Best Original Score for On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Agreed, especially your first sentence. Actually, Barry won the year before for "The Lion in Winter" - another wonderful score. 1969 itself didn't seem like an interesting year for film scores - and much of the score of this movie was written earlier for the other Bond films. This song, though, is a jewel.
Thanks for the comment.
Strangely, WHATTITW hardly registered at all in '69. No doubt due to the fact that the Louis Armstrong's vocal rendition was hidden within the main body of the film, playing over a montage sequence of Bond and Tracy falling in love.
Several years later it reappeared in a Guinness advert on British TV. This time around, the public took notice.
Whilst I'll always respect Louis Armstring as one of the great jazz musicians of the twentieth xentury, I do wish Alk the Time in the World had been sung by Karen Carpenter. That vouce would have reduced all to tears....
Yeah, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is easily my favorite of the John Barry Bond scores. It emphasizes the emotional contrast of the movie so well. The warmth of being in love in "We Have All The Time in the World" against the cold of spy life in the "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" theme. There's also something about the recording and instrumentation trends of the time that give this score a very special character. Particularly that eery keyboard instrument that sounds like "icicles" lol, or maybe some sort of processed harpsichord. All I can say is I listened to this score almost everyday for a period last winter. Such a beautiful piece of work.
@@dansmit491 It's true greatness.
Diana Rigg and John Barry made O.H.M.S.S the greatest Bond movie of them all!
"It's all right, really... see? She's just resting... We have all the time in the world"
I'm crying. As I've lost the man I originally had to sickness and more..... life is closing its doors soon .. I see it.
Beautiful music and wonderful Bond movie. Have loved all of Diana Rigg's performances throughout the years. RIP Diana!
The fact that its been three years since we lost Diana Rigg completely flew over my mind.
Tis one of The Most Stunning pieces of music ever orchestrated, Sad yet Beautiful 😞💞 👏👏👏👏👏
sad music
I agree. I consider On Her Majesty's Secret Service as the Bond Film with the saddest ending.
My Favourite James Bond Film, The Stort , The Music , The Locations, Diana Rigg 😍 Telly Savalas so cold and Menacing with his sidekick who shot Tracy 💔 and George Lazenby was The Coolest 007

@@julkasteven8198 thanks, a henchwoman for sure , irma was excellent 😊
The bewilderment
sounds of disillusion , the strings melody just speaks so much, i think this is the culmination of Johns Barry's Bond
Same year as I was Married and still going :)
Just listening to this after hearing about the passing of Sean Connery. Quite misty eyed. A beautiful composition.
If only Sean had starred in OHMSS rather than Lazenby...
@@rncbshef84 Sean Connery was my best bond. However I think sean connery had grown old for bond portrayed in OHMSS. I think George Lazenby justified this bond very well as this bond showed romanticism which this movie showed. Sean was sensually masculine but not romantic. Despite my sean as best bond, I put OHMS at top of bond movies bcz of magnificent fleming story, exceptional setting, barry intriguing music, sensual Dianna Rigg, movie sticking to movie brilliantly.
@@ashersharif6264 Sean Connery was fed up with the role and resigned during filming of you only Live twice but came back for Diamonds Are Forever at age 40. If did On Her Majesty’s Secret Service would have been 38-39 years old.
This music is perfect! If you're happy sad or somewhere inbetween it just fits your mood perfectly. Well, let's say I'm happy 😊
Tracy. The very soul of this movie and of James.
I found this version after I heard the main version and realized that this is probably the most beautiful song ever recorded. Now I have an even more beautiful version!
Truly beautiful version of a great piece of romantic music. Love Diana Rigg in the film. Such a sad ending.
This song manages to capture both the beauty and sadness of life. Wonderful song
The most romantic and tragic score amongst all of James Bond's.
Well stated, I completely agree. As is the film itself. There score and film are perfect companions.
Casino Royale.. Bond and Vesper equal..
I commented here a few months ago - one of Barry's greatest tracks - on the day that Ms Rigg passes-on, this must surely be the 'go-to' track - brings a tear to the eye
I always tear up with this. I played it at my wedding and sadly at my wife's funeral. I have always loved this soundtrack, but this song (vocal or instrumental) has always filled me with emotion.

This is my favorite bond theme of all time !
Mine too 💞👏
Thank you so much for uploading this piece of music, it's so perfect, the background photo was phenomenal. I'll admit I got teary-eyed.
The most saddest James Bond's soundtrack 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Also Death Of Vesper, by David Arnold
I think this song is most saddest than Vesper's. I don't remember the Vesper song😲😢

There are a (Vesper theme) and (Death Of Vesper theme).. Both are just Beautiful.
John Barry still the best Bond composer.
Great music....lover the movie too....and always loved her
The violin has always felt like it reaches into my being with magical beauty. ✨️ Thank 💝 you so much for this piece. 💖
The only Bond who truly loved. The only Bond film that made me cry. And this piece at the end of No Time To Die was perfect.
Wonderful soundtrack-probably best Bond movie of them all!
Yes and yes
The best Bond movie.
Yes, This version plays violins weaving in and out as I've never heard before. In other words it plays my heart strings as never before.
If you listen to the background from the film that you can hear it in sections....
Where can I get the sheet music for this arrangement?!
Beautiful. Lucky enough to see the film in cinema in '69/70 aged 10 - we'd seen a Doc bow out (Pat Troughton), and a Bond had apparently 'left' (Connery), unsettling for a young person perhaps, but even looking back now half a century on, I still think this was one of the better Bonds, and John Barry's score for the film was magnificent. This track is a gem.
This post deserves more likes
I still get a tear in my eye as Bond cradles Tracy's limp dead body in his arms in the oboe kicks in.
@@msirma0077 So glad they didn't save this sequence for the pre-credits of the sequel. As the producers said, Lazenby driving off and Connery driving up (taking his place) would have ruined all emotion of the scene.
Such a sad, but character defining moment for Bond.
Yeah, this has always been one of my favorite Bond films and scores as well. Such a unique film in the series both for the storyline and for it being Lazenby's one big hoorah as a movie star. I think by being a newbie he was able to connect to this storyline and sell it in a way I don't think Connery would have (Connery was already a huge star by this point and I don't think the film would have had the same emotional impact had he played it). It being Lazenby's only Bond film seems to emphasize the uniqueness and importance of the story to the character of Bond. It allows you to relate to him more as a person as opposed to the iconic superhero figure he'd become with the success of the early Connery Bonds. There's also a really interesting documentary you can find on RUclips called "Everything or Nothing: the untold story of 007" in which Lazenby details how he became Bond which is a fascinating story in itself. Highly recommend watching if you're a Bond fan.
I saw it aged 7. It captured and broke my heart.
Dame Diana Rigg, you are missed. This beautiful orchestration befits you.
This version aptly paints the sad ending to Bond's only one true love.

RIP Diana Rigg, AKA Tracy Bond. September 10, 2020 - - A little Trivia, That is not Louis playing the Horn - It was Herb Alpert that play the horn. As this song when released in 1969 that it was on the charts in Europe for 3 to 4 weeks after the movie was release.... Very Lovely tune with the strings, as how sad that a great actress as gone.

As beautiful as this rendition is, it's almost too sad to listen to. I choke up every time 😥

They say the Bond legacy can even be traced all the way back to Sir Francis Bacon in her Majesty's secret service. Turns out the This particular1969 Bond Dianna Rigg played the only woman Bond ever truly loved. Killed in a drive by shooting on a mountain road.
Though in prose canon, both Tracy and Vesper before her, are the only women Bond truly loved. Both women's lives would've gone a different path as well as Bond's had Casino Royale and OHMSS not went down the way they did

@@liamkeane9159 Let alone being good looking, Diana Rigg possessed this elegant, classy beauty whom u don’t normally find in most pretty Hollywood actresses. I wish like heck u could find this movie and watch it. It’s difficult since ‘OHMSS’ is a pretty old movie and u may as well skip Netflix because I had searched a dozen times already and still unable to track it on their racks. IMO, even the actor George Lazenby deserves a huge credit for playing 007 only once throughout his acting career. Good luck, take care and cheers 🍻

great job!
I created the video using Cyberlink PowerDirector and used editing tools to remove the section after what is on this video and then did another edit to fade the audio out. Fortunately, the repetition of the music at the end made the fade out easy to do.
