My favorite 007 movie from the Roger Moore era and definitely in the top three of all Bond movies. And yes, this is probably my favorite 007 theme song. I never get tired of hearing it.

In mid-1980 Sheena didn't exist in the pop music world. A little more than a year later she was having her third hit with this one and continued having hits for another ten years. She was one of the lucky ones to get a break and show her stuff. Love this Bond title song.
This is my favorite Bond movie, it had everything. Spectacular locations, amazing action sequences, hilarious tongue in cheek humor, fantastic characters, Roger Moore in his prime.

By far the most passionate James Bond theme ever. If you hear the full version it has such magnificent lyrics, such as, "....the words you read and write in me, only for you......." No one writes songs like that anymore, or performs them without just using their body to sell the song. This timeless song is truly amazing. Bless Sheena Easton for something that will always remain magical to those who cherish it.............
🙏 Sheena Easton's : " For Your Eyes Only " always hold our attention when it is play ...Even until today! Thank You So Much & May We Meet Again in a Better World & Realm All James Bonds & Lovely Casts! 🌷🌿🌎💜🕊
This brings me back. I (and the rest of the band) played this song for our high school marching show. I played the beginning part as a French Horn soloist. I’m 42 now.
In my opinion one of the Best Bond theme songs of all Time and a Great movie also. Sheena Easton has Really unique and Beautiful voice and Roger Moore was a very Talented Actor.
I really like this song, i just saw this again the other day. Love Bond movies! Carole Bouquet and Lynn Holly Johnson were so beautiful back in the day!
For this magnificent Jame Bond episode, I would say, this is exceptional and stand out as what Jame Bond really is. As Moore has been part of Bond film, this one has shown his true core of being human that many could touch. The sincere speech of his and the sophisticated action has proven that he has heart for his mission and the woman he has saved her life wholeheartedly. The powerful and emotional OST has so much more impact on this film as well.
This song brings reminds me of my cousin, when we were kids we always saw the Bond movies in the movie theater, they were our "special memories." He passed away back around 5 years ago at age 51. Miss you Buddy...
The only Bond film with the theme song’s singer appearing in the opening titles. The producers thought Sheena was so beautiful that they just had to have her in them.
fabulous orchestration! Which is more beautiful - Sheena Easton's face, or voice? Every singer should have such a song, and such back up once their life. Sounds JUST AS MAGICAL decades later!
This is one of the best 007 movies of ever, regarding one the best generic and song theme peformed by Sheena Easton, For your eyes only, the amazing story and locations where it was recorded and the performance and beauty of Carole Bouquet...
The opening to this movie was just beautiful and the song makes me cry, especially during the scene when James and Melinia are diving on the temple and the instrumental variant is playing over a sea turtle. Just a beautiful song to a great movie.
Sir Roger Moore, sadly Sir Sean Connery has reunited with him in the "afterlife" : their contributions could never be measured in words alone. Excellent video : hope all the official 007 movies get this treatment - 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍!.
Lived in Europe in the early ‘80’s (expat dad’s corporate job had us living there) and remember going to see this flick with the whole family when it was released. Loved it back then and still do today, even without CGI!
This is one of my favorite James Bond movies and definitely my favorite Roger Moore movie. I love it for its more realistic, grounded story and it gives Moore's bond a chance to be just a bit more serious and a bit more tough and nasty.
During filming, Roger Moore turned 53. Carole Bouquet turned 23 just prior to start of filming. My man!!! She had some of the longest hair of any Bond girl, and fortunately wore it down most of the film, all of which was good for this long hair fan.
"For Your Eyes Only"(1981) is my favorite Roger Moore James Bond film ("Octopussy" is a close second) because it minimized the ridiculous, over-the-top comedy that characterized too many of the Moore Bond films. It is an absolute pleasure watching Topol's superb acting as Columbo in this film! The scene between Columbo and Bond on Columbo's yacht is outstandingly done in which Columbo explains to Bond that it is actually Kristatos that Bond seeks and not Columbo! Sheena Easton singing the great Main Title Song is absolutely beautiful and wonderful!
Sir Roger Moore's most serious take on James Bond, incorporating elements from the title short story collection (For Your Eyes Only & Risico), and the novels Goldfinger (the Identigraph (Identicast in the novel), and Live and Let Die (the keelhauling scene). Topol (Columbo) was Dr. Zarkov in Flash Gordon (1980).
Given that For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy are the only movies where Roger Moore gave James Bond a serious demeanor compared to his earlier movies, his fans should WATCH his 007 movies and READ the original novels to really get James Bond's persona as Ian Fleming intended.
Kinda hated the Jaws thing, so this was a welcome relief, I too think Bouquet was one of the most beautiful Bond women but also was a "serious" accomplice and really like the Sheena Easton tune. Great ending too with the Russian giving an indifferent worldly shrug when things don't work out (for them)
Very good summary of one of my favourite Bond movies (totally underrated!). One of the most beautiful title songs, great instrumental score (despite not from John Barry, but Bill Conti did a great job either). Most beautiful landscapes of any Bond movie, namely Corfou (Greece) and Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy). I was to Corfou for two weeks on vacation in October 2004 and visited nearly all of the places where the scenes were taken. Also, a beautiful Bond girl (Carole Bouquet) and a very thrilling plot with some surprising twists compared to more conventional Bond movies. For instance, it takes a while to see who is the true villain, and the way he tries to kill Bond and his girl in the Mediterranean Sea by some sort of keelhauling (2:06) is probably the most extraordinary and thrilling scene of this kind in any Bond movie. The photography is superb (e.g. the waterplane landing in the Greek bay at 0:07, pay attention to the different camera perspectives in the movie, which are not all shown in this video). Also, the underwater acoustics of the keelhauling scene sound very realistic, if you ever were snorkelling or diving and listened to a motor boat underwater. Very convincing. John Glen did a tremendous job directing this movie, which was the first out of five he directed (all "official" 1980s Bond movies).
This episode and "Octopussy" are my two favorites of the series. I like Roger Moore's subtle sarcastic wit and the story lines of the two are easy to follow. The best Bond song and Carole is so pretty, it's criminal.
For your eyes only, can see me through the night For your eyes only, I never need to hide You can see so much in me, so much in me that's new I never felt until I looked at you For your eyes only, only for you You'll see what no one else can see, and now I'm breaking free For your eyes only, only for you The love I know you need in me, the fantasy you've freed in me Only for you, only for you For your eyes only, the nights are never cold You really know me, that's all I need to know Maybe I'm an open book because I know you're mine But you won't need to read between the lines For your eyes only, only for you You see what no one else can see, and now I'm breaking free For your eyes only, only for you The passions that collide in me, the wild abandoned side of me Only for you, for your eyes only
I see these exact same lyrics posted everywhere, but I've always thought that one lyric was "the wild-abandon side of me". Wouldn't that make more sense? I don't know what to make of "wild abandoned". Is it like the wild side of her that she had abandoned (except for the person she is singing to)? The thing is that as most every English-speaker probably knows, "wild abandon" is itself a phrase, and I think it makes more sense that she would only reveal the hidden wild-abandon side of her personality to the person she is singing to. Just wondering what someone else might think. As for what it sounds like, it's not clear that there is a "d" sound at the end of "abandon". Of course, with this combination of words, it would be difficult at best to make out in general, even if it were actually there for sure (maybe it is, but I've seen many far more obvious transcription errors, so these happen all the time).

Beautifully done. John Dye was so beautiful, too. ❤
Such a stunning song and sung beautifully by Sheen Easton!
best james bond song and sheena easton what a wonderful singing voice , notices james bond driving g1 bumblebee
For your eyes only, can see me through the night
For your eyes only, I never need to hide
You can see so much in me, so much in me that's new
I never felt until I looked at you
For your eyes only, only for you
You'll see what no one else can see, and now I'm breaking free
For your eyes only, only for you
The love I know you need in me, the fantasy you've freed in me
Only for you, only for you
For your eyes only, the nights are never cold
You really know me, that's all I need to know
Maybe I'm an open book because I know you're mine
But you won't need to read between the lines
For your eyes only, only for you
You see what no one else can see, and now I'm breaking free
For your eyes only, only for you
The passions that collide in me, the wild abandoned side of me
Only for you, for your eyes only
I see these exact same lyrics posted everywhere, but I've always thought that one lyric was "the wild-abandon side of me".
