If you really loved the Soi 38, you’ve missed Dodee Paidang for more Thai and Thai Town and grocery store in QV for both savoury and dessert snacks

Hey Sirani, those are pretty good recommendations for Thai too I have to agree! Soi 38 is just that little cheaper than these 2 restaurants, but those 2 you recommended have more varieties :)

I know many of these places and they are all fantastic!! The ones I didn't know, I will be sure to check out!!! Especially the Fitzroy ones (brusnwick st, fitzroy st, smith st).. It is a super hip and trendy, part of Melbourne I keep meaning to return to!! Your vid was super entertaining and you have a cute style!! Cheers!! :)
Other places you might like for another vid.. Sth Melb market - Grazing - Borek/Paella/Dim Sims/Oysters and many more, Stalactites, Master Roll - Sth Yarra, Master Lanzhou Noodles, Seoul Toast (YUM), Niko's Sandwiches, A Treat of France (What you didn't know you needed!), many places along Victoria St, Richmond. If you start hitting the outer suburbs.. particularly the areas with a stronger asian influence like Springvale, Footscray, Box Hill.. gosh you can find some amazing food!!! Luv!!
Almost forgot.. for a crazy desert.. Sulwha (korean shaved ice treat)!!!!

Far out that was awesome. They were all really cheap but, sadly, even 20 bucks is too rich for us these days... unless we're travelling and then we splurge. 😂 When we first moved to Melbourne we wanted to try everything. Back in Sydney I reckon there wasn't a joint with a hat we hadn't been too. We were spoiled for choice. I think we had just about every cuisine available within walking distance of home. Not so much out here in the burbs of Melbourne. 🤣These days we try and make our favourites like fried chicken (US, Japanese or Vietnamese style - I just love fried chicken any way), or okonomiyaki or Chinese or even middle eastern. Which reminds me of Miznon. We have been there once and it was really good. A couple of the dishes inspired Michelle and she's done those as well. Those French crepes reminded me of Cafe Breizh in Paris. Best crepes ever. I think they have a shop in Tokyo too. Have you tried the borek at the QV Markets? Really cheap and really good. I've been meaning to try Soi 38 since they opened but never got around to it. Every time I parked there I think I will have to try it. These days it is just too busy. 😂
Some really excellent recommendations here. I would love to try them all. I suppose if we left the kids with their adult sized appetites at home it might be possible. 😂 Even a good ramen adds up when you times it by 4. I recommend Gomi Boys for ramen btw. 😁
    Brilliant video!

haa thanks for dropping by Shane, always lovely to "see" you here!
$20 ain't the cheapest kinda cheap, but if I get a decent intake of carbs, protein, and vegos from one meal, I'm happy :)!
Sounds like Michelle is the up and coming Master Chef! Has she been on one :D? I love cooking too, but unfortunately I'm so time poor, my covid bread making days are long gone lol!
Could you get your kids to eat some fruits and nuts before coming out for a feast? That should save some $$ from your wallet ;)?

@ShaneNixonFamily I can so relate to that after coming back from Vietnam too, I question even the price for a box of tissues lol
Advice from someone who has no kids yet, clearly doesn't work 🤣
