@@Voucher765 grew up in Harford county. Spent most of my time in Harford and Baltimore county. Worked in Baltimore city for a little bit. I live in York Countu, PA now and I'll probably stay here
Used to live there on the Holly Tree farm. Very peaceful, but you need to cross the river to go to Havre de Grace or go north to Elkton to find anything. Perryville does have a 7-11 though.
Notice you named basically areas that you need a huge income to afford to live there. Many near the beltway areas. High income areas normally have lower crime rates and better schools due to high taxes to pay for more police and better school facilities. More likely to have speed traps and insane regulations.
I'm considering it as I love to be close to the water. I've been abroad for five years and live along the shore now. It's nowhere as expensive as the states but family and friends are pulling my heart strings.
Annapolis is not just the city of Annapolis and includes a large area around it also included as an Annapolis. If you don’t like boating, bars, restaurants, and golf don’t live there. Most people commute to work from 15 to 30 minutes or more away. Eastbound Route 50 is bumper-to-bumper starting around 1 PM every Friday from May through September people going to Ocean City. I know because I have lived there.
Some facts are incorrect. I've lived and visited all listed cities for 26 years. 1. Silver Springs is not safe, especially since it's near to Langley Park 2. With the exception of Towson and Annapolis, all the other cities are not close to the well-known universities. Mostly community colleges. 3. Bethesda is an expensive city but you don't need to afford a $1M home. If you make over 209k a year, you can afford a decent house 4. Annapolis should be placed 3rd in regards to low crime, but not wrong on affordable CoL
I love historic Ellicott City. I would highly recommend visiting if you get the opportunity. I also vouch for all of the places on this list. Towson had some issues with crime recently with people from Baltimore City venturing out into the county, but it seemed to be a one time thing and it’s still quite nice overall.
DEFINITELY NOT!!! HIgh crime. Terrible schools. Poverty. Just drive through if you get the chance. They have Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital. There are many good reasons it isn't on this list.
What makes these the “best” places? A lot of these are expensive in every way, making them HORRIBLE places to actually live. Decent places to work though.
I lived there when the Drive In theatre was in business and Ense's served the best Italian food around. Before the DMV was where it is there was an anti-bellum plantation house there, abandoned long ago and as kids we would roam thru it. Moved away in early 70s.@@db2885
