Frederick is a sleeper pick (but don't tell anyone lol)...a place that held the mountain biking nationals last year for a reason. Lots of trails around with proximity to the Potomac/Monocacy including a walkable, easy to access downtown. The main issues in Md are the overall rudeness, traffic, and COL. If you can see through those things, then it's one of the most versatile/diverse states in the country.
My grandparents live in that part (i live in another county in MD) its truly beautiful AND WE HAVE ALL SEASONS COMPLAIN ABOUT ALL THE WEATHER YOU WANT :))))))))))))))
Also yea there is rude people i mean my neighbors have a sign pointing to the neighbors house that says "my neighbors are aholez ---->" and i had a karen neighbor when i was five that called the cops on my beaglw for barking
You forgot to say how mean people are there! LOL I lived in MD for about 7 years and I have to say you can make a descent living there and yes it is expensive to live there too! but, why are the people so unfriendly? LOL just mean!!
Haha sure there are parts of Maryland where residents are more friendly. Also, certain subdivisions. People from all over come to Maryland so we have a lot of different personality types.
Exactly my neighbor has a sign pointing to another neighbors house calling them the a word and my neighbor i had 0-6 was a karen that called the cops of my beagle for B A R K I N G
I’m from NJ.. and I’m considering moving to Maryland. I have lots of family & friends in NJ & I don’t want to go away very far from them. But I’m sure Maryland is still way more affordable compared to NJ. I’m just sick of the high cost of living here..

Hey sis thank you for this video! I am trying to locate areas in Maryland best to live I would love if you did more pros and cons videos for areas such as Gaithersburg Rockville weathers type of family friendly suburban areas
What about the city of Frederick and western Maryland (not the western shore)? Frederick could be considered "suburban" but it still retains a little western Maryland country charm. I have worked and played in Frederick and it is becoming a lively and vibrant small city. Western Maryland even borders Harper's Ferry, one of the fastest growing parts of West Virginia.
If possible, Can you do a Video on Bowie? I always see realtors do “living in Maryland” videos mostly about cities in Baltimore County, Columbia, Ellicott City, or cities in Mo County (rockville, potomac, bethesda). But I never see enough information about Bowie. I plan on moving back to Maryland in the next 2 months and my heart is set either on Bowie or Columbia.
Sure, I will work on this. I serve Central Maryland and the Baltimore Metro areas so I try to focus my videos in those areas but Bowie is right on the line of being my specialty.
Hello , great video ! I am a single, black American moving from STL and having been looking into MD for a new start and living in my own. At first I was looking into Baltimore but the crime was severe. Is there anyway you can tell me which places are safer to live in with reasonable living prices.
Hello, as a realtor I can’t share with you my personal opinion on different areas. I can send you links to different resources so you can conduct the research yourself.
I am thinking about moving here in my near future. I never even considered moving to Maryland because it's just one of those states that is overlooked. With that, can you tell me about your experience as a Black Woman in Maryland? I am a foster mother and married to an Italian man. I have a diverse family and I just want to move to an area where my kids can see people who look like them but also get exposed to different family types and cultures! Thanks so much -Kelley
Hi Kelley! Absolutely, I really love living in Maryland as a person of color. There are very diverse areas here! If you’d like to give me a call, I’m open to discussing more! 443-764-5521
Head over to gaithersburg maryland. Mixed race kids were huge part of the school. like 15%, In and already diverse school with indians, asians, mexicans, whites and blacks, none being over 40% of the population of any school. One of family members is black with Italian. IT doesn't get much better than this for raising mixed race children.
I would agree with these replies. Maryland is one of the most diverse states in the nation. I believe the last census indicated that the population is now majority minority. Particularly if you look in central Maryland, you will see people from every ethnic and national background, with all kinds of faiths (and non-faith) from every part of the world. I think Maryland is really tolerant of difference, to a degree not always found in other states.

Can you help pinpoint some cities that are family friendly (single parent), DIVERSE, with good school systems. I just recently visited a playground in perry hall area and it was nice looking and the people were friendly. I’m open for any suggestions including different states lol, thank you !
I moved here due to a job and I’m already missing California. It’s too brown here (a lot of buildings and roads made of bricks) so it’s a bit depressing for me. Also way too suburban and not many Koreans compared to CA… :( (Yes I know there’s Ellicott City but compared to SoCal it’s like a little bundle of Koreans, mostly families…)
Aw, I’m so sorry to hear this. 😕 A lot of my friends or Korean Americans and are very happy here in Maryland but I’m not sure they’ve ever experienced any other environment to compare it to. 😕 if your heart is somewhere else, I completely understand how that feels.
Hi,👋🏾 I am a a new subscriber !! I have lived in Maryland for 13 years now and I LOVE it here❤ I love the diversity, the fact that we’re in such close proximity to all the states that you mentioned and that there is so many great job opportunities here compared to where I’m from. I am originally from PA (Pittsburgh) and It just doesn’t compare to here. Even though it is quite expensive to live here, I feel like I have a better quality of life here
Maryland is considered the Upper South. The architect in Maryland is an example of the wealthy Lords of England and German Lutheran who established this region with their wealth and Christian influences. Churches and Universities line the state in every corner, dating back to 1696 such as St. John in Annapolis and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore City are two quick examples. Divided by the Baltimore metro and DMV-DC regions you quickly learn Maryland is a state of neighborhood divide 4 divided different ethnic groups in each region similar to the Baltimore City neighborhood model. Known for the most progressive blacks in America and the mightiest warriors of Native American Tribes. Maryland’s descendants can confirm living well was paved by Maryland’s forbears and their love ❤️ for her in every Maryland flag.
I have many friends in the ATL that moved from the north. I considered it but can't deal with the summer heat and bugs. Every time I've moved south I ended up leaving. I hate snow so at least I got out of New England. I've been in Europe for 5 yrs and the search is on again for my return. MD or DE are what I'm researching. DE seems less expensive and quieter yet MD seems to offer more.
Hello, I’ve never lived in North Carolina so I’m not sure how it is to live there. I can only share what it’s like to live in Maryland. There are different areas of Maryland with entirely different vibes. It will strongly depend on which county you’d be residing in.
Do not move to Maryland!!! I lived there for 40 years. Was okay in the 80s, now a trash heap, lots of crime, violence. I have been living in NC.for 15 years. Not even compare the two. You would be really taking a step down.... way down in quality of life.
Hello Jeff, where in N.C is a good place to live if your looking for a suburb that’s affordable for lower/ avg. income, safe, somewhat diverse and a easy commute to a city without bad traffic? Your thoughts are appreciated
Thanks so much for the kind words. When I think Western Shore, I think Calvert County. It’s on the water and gives similar vibes to the Eastern Shore 😊

There are no pros anymore! The State use to one of the best states to live in, now it sucks. 9th worse state to live in, way to liberal (has be come the California of the east), high taxes, fees, poor schools and high crime. There are three counties that get the majority of tax dollars. It is spent on entitlements in Prince Georges, Montgomery and Baltimore counties. Cost of living is getting out of sight. First time home ownership is barely available because of the high cost of living. We have need a new location and bridge for the Chesapeake Bay, they have spent billions, and billions on studies for over forty years and there is still not bridge, plus they have decided to put it where no one wants it because the area is already under heavily inundated with so much traffic locals can not move anywhere Thursday through Sunday. Way to much government interference in citizen’s daily lives. Not a senior friendly state.
