Right, he chose to only show the bad streets. All the areas he circled are nice neighborhoods. He knows nothing. And no mention of Fells, Fed hill, Canton, Patterson Park, all nice areas.
Everything in this video is incorrect. You chose to show the one bad street in Baltimore and made it seem like that’s the whole city with no mention of the other wonderful neighborhoods and culture here. I’ve lived in the city for over a decade with no issues. And some of the names you are calling people in the rural areas and eastern shore I’ve never heard of in my life. You obviously made this video having no knowledge of the state at all.
Baltimore has more than one bad street. It used to be a great city once but poor leadership is leading it to ruin. The only good parts re the neighborhoods along border from west to north to the east.
So Prince George's County is home to 5/6 of the wealthiest towns in the country. It's not just "ward 9". It is also home to ~15 Government Agencies who do a great deal of procurement for private business owners which means its a huge economic driver for the Country. I won't go into all of the stats but the way you painted Gorgeous Prince George's was clearly biased. Lastly, "College Park" just outside of Moco... happens to be in Prince George's County.
R. Joshua Reynolds it seems like his goal with the video was to only talk about the bad things and complain. Seems like a miserable person in general. I’ve never even heard of Ward 9.
I call BS. The correct Marylander pronunciation of Baltimore is closer to “Bawlmer”. And going to OC is “down the ocean” which to non-natives sounds more like “downy aioshun”. He’s right about “hon” but cmon anyone with a brain knows that.
University of Maryland is in PG county! MGM Casino is in PG County, as well as Bowie State, the National Harbor, NASA Goddard space Center. Don’t sleep on PG. yes parts of it are hood but not everything.
Also as someone who’s lived in Baltimore briefly and walked around the city it’s not as bad as he makes it out to be you just need to have street smarts
I've lived in, walked in, and driven in Baltimore City. Like any big city, it has places that are bad, places that are ground into poverty, places that are less safe than others. If you only film the unattractive streets, then you are giving a poor overview of the city. During the Revolutionary War, the country's capital was moved to Baltimore and the State Capital in Annapolis has the oldest still operating Capitol Building.
As a person who went to Johns Hopkins University, the neighborhoods and streets are not as dangerous as portrayed in the video. I actually felt safe in that part of area in north Baltimore City. There are some rich neighborhoods near the campus and nice coffee shops and clothing stores near the campus as well.
It is honestly impressive how well Montgomery county is wrong. It doesn’t get enough credit. They have an amazing recycling program and no landfills in the county, they instead have an energy transfer station, look it up. Besides that, their libraries are beautiful and the county programs are very well run. Their community college is probably one of the best in the entire country. It’s a great place to live.
I’ve lived in Maryland most of my life. I don’t say hun or Warshington, and I don’t put Old Bay on anything except crabs. I root for the Terps, the Skins, and the Nats, and I’m very much missing my sports. Maryland is a pretty great state and has just about anything you could want. Thanks for doing a video on our great state!
As a Marylander, I questioned the accuracy of some of the video. Then you said everyone else in the state hates Montgomery County and I thought, alright, pretty accurate.
@@elijahadams8835 Comparing just cities to an entire state isn't really possible. The only thing in Maryland comparable is Baltimore, which is already a different vibe from the rest of Maryland lol

I'm from Bethesda Maryland, I'm in Houston Texas now, for 30 something years, miss maryland, crab boils, fishing, visiting Georgetown...great state, lived in frederick and thurmont Maryland, in the country, was gorgeous.
Yep! Frederick, like all other cities in MD, have their good areas and bad ones. One simply has to know which areas are which. I'm still in Frederick County, and I love it.
I'm currently living in Bethesda, changed so much, people no longer afford here single house starts at 2mil+. I'm moving to Rosemary Beach next year can't wait
Basically this video is saying what everyone in Baltimore thinks: everything in Maryland outside of Baltimore is hillbilly town and north Baltimore is dangerous. But this video didn’t mention all the nice parts of Baltimore, like Fells Point, Federal Hill, the inner harbor, Roland park, etc.
Um, North Baltimore is the wealthiest and least dangerous part of the city. I do agree, of course, that the areas you mentioned are nice. BTW, Roland Park is in North Baltimore.
I can definitely vouch for Roland Park area, I went to that elementary school! Catonsville, Patterson Park, Mt Vernon, Reistertown, and Whitelock. It’s a small city with a lot of gems 💎
THIS guy seems to take a rather shallow view and understanding of many places he visits. Who is he anyway? Where is he from? Where did he go to school and for how long? He does hit on some of our stereotypical flaws. We’re a fractured state, America in miniature, they used to say. Geographically and socially. I think he’s too young to have heard that, or just not bright enough to pick up on the nuances. Little better than BS?
My fiancés parents are from Thailand. They came here with nothing and built a wonderful life for their 2 daughters in Montgomery county. Maryland is the 9th most diverse state and number 1 in Asian population.
I lived in Baltimore for several years. A crack head took a dump on my front step and my buddies dog got kidnapped and held for ransom lol. Bmore is hot garbage. But Primos Chicken on Pratt and Cross is FIRE.
Frederick County is becoming the new Montgomery County. Parts of northern Moco are kinda ghetto like Gaithersburg and Germantown. Residents are sometimes referred to as "Moco Loco". Also "hon" is really just a Baltimore thing.
Montgomery County is not even as close to being dangerous as Prince George's County, Baltimore County, Baltimore, Worchester County, Washington County and Anne Arundel County.
Pretty amazing how RICH the state of Maryland is! RICHEST of all 50 states by median household income, even more amazing considing how poor the majority of Baltimore is, and drags it down considerably!

I’ve lived in different parts of MD for the past 20 years. Prince George’s county is the wealthiest Black county in the country. Millionaires..Doctors, lawyers, engineers.. great homes in that county. I lived there as a child and 2 of my sisters currently have homes there. Baltimore is just as bad as you’ve said. My university was in Cumberland and it’s peaceful and scenic. Locals were not as conservative as portrayed. I’ve lived in Montgomery county for almost 2 years and it’s one of the best counties in MD so that part correct.
i’m far from western maryland but when i do go to the cumberland area for a family reunion it is beautiful and maryland is a mix of everything but the more west you go the more pretty it gets .
Baltimore born and raised. Guy got a lot right here but he missed the mark on some things 1. Politicians are reluctant to gentrifying baltimore city would cause rents would be astronomically high. They have already risen a ridiculous percentage over the past couple years and most people in baltimore city are living at or below poverty levels. If in 2018 your rent was 900, theres no reason why that same place should rent for 1300 two years later. Gentrification brings people with higher incomes in the impoverished hood seeing low rents and therefore landlords jack those prices up. Doesnt affect the gentrifiers, but affects the long term residents greatly. A vast majority of homes in the city are rental properties. Its not about losing support. Its about not having a place to live. 2. We did not climb the gates of M&T Bank to watch the ravens play, at least not to my knowledge and the clip. We climbed the gate to participate in the Superbowl celebration ceremony in 2012 because the stadium was at capacity and they closed the gates. It was a big deal. They shut down downtown and my job gave us a break to attend. But yes we are die hard ravens fans. I have a tattoo 3. You also left out that Maryland is one of the wealthiest states comprised of African Americans in the nation 4. The accents - The only two detectable accents we really have are Rural white accents (all of Maryland) and Black city accents (Baltimore City): The rural whites are the ones who say "hon'" (honey) and "wooder" (Water). We say "tew" (too) "urn" (iron, aaron, urn), "zink" (sink), "oinch" (orange). PG/MoCo/DC has their own lingo and it confuses us sometimes if we dont go to DC often.
Baltimore residents absolutely have a very distinct accent, and yes the long time residents do say hon. Three distinct regions, I-95 corridor, Western MD, and Eastern Shore and would include the counties s of DC as essentially Eastern Shore
College Park and University of Maryland are in PG county....people seem to forget this. Its not called "just outside Montgomery County" its in PG. Say where it is...not what it is in proximity to. With the virus, the college town is empty, but I drive there to support some of my favorite restaurants in my county. PG is such a big and diverse place with some beautiful homes. My family and I have never actually heard anyone call it ward 9, but why show just that rough area? I always hear "one of nations wealthiest black areas" and I feel comfortable and safe here. Been here since 98. They are gentrifying a lot of the shady areas close to D.C. but PG isn't just the outskirts of D.C. either. That rough snippet of PG is one part, and that pretty snippet of University of MD is another part of the same county. What does MOCO have to do with college park and UMD? This stuff is why PG gets no credit for the good stuff we actually have. I just bought a home in the suburbs in a nice community with great neighbors and beautiful parks.
I deliver for doordash and postmates. One time I got an order for Gibson island and they STILL would not let me through the gate. Made the guy drive over to the gate to pick up his food from me. Yet, when I deliver to shipmen at the naval academy the security is so chill about letting me through.. Lol.
It has its ups and downs. I certainly don't like the high cost of living, unfriendliness, way too much traffic and type A pesonalities that have migrated down here. I won't say it is the worst place, but I find the region overrated honestly.
I'm from PG county by the way of Washington DC and our accent is way different than Baltimore. Alot of us have DC roots from the music to family members.
I’m from Delaware, and I don’t see many people from Maryland coming here for tax-free shopping. It’s mainly people from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or New York.
I’m from Maryland and I suck at driving so don’t come here. Most of what he said is right though he left some things/ important county’s out, and NOT everybody talks like that I certainly don’t.
Dundalk is still very blue collar, but the area around Cockeysville, in northern central Baltimore county, isn’t blue collar at all. It’s mostly upper middle class suburbs up there.
Parkville is still pretty blue collar too , yup northern Baltimore county is for the rich people most of those farms been sold and million dollar homes on them now
Anywhere near Central almost northern Baltimore County are upper middle to upper class. Hunt valley, Phoenix, Jacksonville, Glenarm, Cockeysville and the Dulaney Valley area has a lot of old long money.
I live in Upper Marlboro, and stay in Marlboro Ridge, a predominately black wealthy neighborhood. you should’ve talked about all the parts, not just shown the seemingly bad parts.
As a Marylander I approve of this video. The map was very accurate, Old bay is great on chicken wings, crabs, fish, and fries, and the stereotypes were pretty on the mark.
I'd like to agree with you, bit there really are parts of Baltimore that are neglected. The state, let alone the city, hasn't done enough to invest in the community to bring those areas back up.
I bagan working as a snowbird driver last year. And out of the 30 states I have been to this past year, MD has been the one to surprise me the most. I stayed in Silver Springs. I loved my night there and want to make a point to spend more time there in the future.
Montgomery County Rocville's Lincoln Park was Bad in 80's 90's, Rockville Rocks 1987, but cleaned up these days, Gaithersburg 124 is a under rated Ghetto
Takoma Park is a hipster liberal white neighborhood. Langley Park is the hood not Takoma. A tiny sliver of Takoma Park right off 650 near the border with North Capitol DC is ghetto but if you drive up Carrol st to Takoma dc anywhere off piney branch south of Sligo creek pkwy it’s straight up gentrified
@@beambooi6431 Yep, I used to live right in that area of 650 (New Hampshire Ave for those who don't know) in the Belford Towers projects. Pretty much everything you said that whole area is true.
I was born and raised in Southwest Baltimore City and I moved up here to Western Maryland (Cumberland) about 13 years ago, that was by far the best move I ever made in my entire life..
I’ve came from Northeast Baltimore and my grandparents moved in there from the 1940s. I live in Randallstown now and I have to say that NE Baltimore you aren’t “bound to get shot”. The people there have a strong community.
Ushsh Hshs; born and raised in Maryland. It's definitely a southern state as you can determine that by the way Marylanders react when it snows--especially the way they "drive" in the snow. The mere mention of the word "snow" in a weather forecast and Marylanders loot the grocery store like the 7th seal was just broken; all schools close and people are absent at their jobs because of the paralyzingly fear of the white stuff.

Then they split up immediately after 😂
I was born and raised in Baltimore. The city has been going downhill for decades. I have also lived in Montgomery County and a few years ago went back to visit just for the day and I was priced back into reality. Northwestern Baltimore County was where I was most comfortable until I moved away from the state. After almost 2 decades I return to Maryland I moved to the lower part of the mid-shore, Dorchester County. I loved it. What drove me away from Maryland who is the overall political situation in the state, high taxes, had a chance to live close to family in Florida, a state with no personal income tax. I still have one brother living in Maryland and I expect in about a decade when he retires he will be moving to another state.
I've lived in Maryland most of my life, mostly in Montgomery County. This place SUCKS!!! Why you ask? Besides what was already mentioned, which is just scratching the surface, The traffic is ReDicUlOuS... Not just the congestion either, bad enough you can't get anywhere fast, they have the nerve too have speed cameras EVERYWHERE in places where you wouldn't think they should be, which is the whole point... Bad enough this place fleeces you on taxes, but to ad insult to injury they dive in your pocket even more, and the traffic lights our timed terribly, no sooner then you stop at a major intersection and sit for 2mins your stopping again... this can go on for several blocks... and one would think with all the revenue that's generated in this pristine wealthy suburb of neighboring Washington D.C. that it would have decent infrastructure, Wrong... the roads are horrendous and there always seems to be road issues and construction which adds more issues to getting around, and Not to knock the people of N.J. Philly or N.Y. but they have infiltrated this area, which has added to the traffic, crime and higher insurance premiums... You would expect this being such a high status profile area, that there wouldn't be on a short supply of anything at the store's, Wrong... This place amazes me that it's always out of things in the store's, supply and demand isn't the order of the day here... Then there's the all probing police state, there's so many different kinds of police here you'd think your living in a National Police Force... I could keep going on, but I think your getting the picture, this place is a Major Joke...
Another great clip, Nick. I was born in "Bawlmer City" in 1957 so I remember how bad it has become now. Maryland is a big, diverse place, so it all depends on where you want to live (like most states). I personally think that the Eastern Shore has the most to offer.
Tom Selleck, Pat Sajak, Chef Ettore Boiardi, Roy Clark, Danny Gatton... there's a huge list of notables who called Maryland "home" at one point or another!
As a lifelong Marylander your characterization of Baltimore is wrong . I was born in and raised in this city. I’m college education and an African American woman and while yes my city has problems like many places please in the future learn about the people before you speak . Oh by the way we love crabs but, we don’t put Old Bay on everything.

I’d rather walk through sketchy parts of Baltimore City at night than some parts of NYC
Thank you it’s not that bad
I wanna be able to walk around without having to be "street smart" tho
It is honestly impressive how well Montgomery county is wrong. It doesn’t get enough credit. They have an amazing recycling program and no landfills in the county, they instead have an energy transfer station, look it up. Besides that, their libraries are beautiful and the county programs are very well run. Their community college is probably one of the best in the entire country. It’s a great place to live.

Baltimore born and raised. Guy got a lot right here but he missed the mark on some things
I have a tattoo
3. You also left out that Maryland is one of the wealthiest states comprised of African Americans in the nation
Niiiice Mr Jones!!
I've lived in Glen Burnie all of my life and don't pronounce my words in either of those ways. My dad does though because he lived in Bmore City.
I lived in maryland my whole life and I domt talk like that and most people I know dont neither. From Caroline County
Baltimore residents absolutely have a very distinct accent, and yes the long time residents do say hon. Three distinct regions, I-95 corridor, Western MD, and Eastern Shore and would include the counties s of DC as essentially Eastern Shore
BALTIMORE FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!
I just bought a home in the suburbs in a nice community with great neighbors and beautiful parks.

there is very humid summers and springs
and perfect fall
As a lifelong Marylander your characterization of Baltimore is wrong . I was born in and raised in this city. I’m college education and an African American woman and while yes my city has problems like many places please in the future learn about the people before you speak . Oh by the way we love crabs but, we don’t put Old Bay on everything.
What are you talking about? I'm from D.C. but currently live in MD. You were mad disrespectful towards MD and don't have a clue. About only 30% of that ish you spouted was true.
FYI... I hate Old Bay seasoning and not a big fan of crabs.
Most people like crabs/Old Bay but you're right that he literally doesn't know the state and isn't from there
This lamb concurs with the OP
Thanks for putting the image of Joe Thiesman’s leg getting broken into pieces by LT into my head Mappy! I remember watching that game live with my dad. My dad yelled out “old Joe got hit so hard I felt it in Denver!” Thanks for the great content Nick. Love all of your vids. Keep up the great work and stay safe and healthy bro.
Hey Rick! OMG i just rewatched that clip OMG
Maryland is a diverse state, we actually try to work together unlike some other states. The Baltimore stereotype just gets old.
Yea the white people cool for the most part
I’ve been waiting for this episode forever
I KNOW
You forgot to mention the bad drivers in Baltimore county one person cut me off for a crab shot jeez so eager

Maryland in general. You cant go a day without seeing an accident
Dwight obviously knew very little about Prince Georges County, Southern Maryland, and Salisbury. You neglected to mention that The county has some of the most affluent Black cities and townships in the country, one of the most populated Counties in the state. You also neglected to mention how Maryland is one of the most ethnically diverse states in the country. It was still an entertaining video and I think it will spark plenty of conversation about the state as a hole.
I agree Mr Patel is grossly misrepresenting Maryland and he should have been fact checked
It’s crazy how a lot of people will talk about how Maryland isn’t a good state yet they haven’t lived there…………..
My sister lives in Upper Marlboro. Visited her over memorial weekend. Loved it. Went to DC and ate at National Harbor.
Right he totally disrespected a Prince George’s County! He showed the poorest part and disregarded the rest!
Tiffani Patillo / video is full of disrespect honestly 😂

Maryland is a rich state. Just remove baltimore. Drivers are awful in this state
there almost as bad new jersey or Connecticut/ Massachusetts
Tell me about it I lived in Montgomery country or just outside of it I’d say maybe more towards Frederick and the one thing worse than driving is trying to park there overall though I loved the area
@@JG-jo8rt Yeah parking in Bethesda and Silver Spring is terrible. I still love it though. I've been here since 2000.
Drivers in the Mid Atlantic region ALL suck.
As a truck driver, Maryland, indeed, have the worst drivers I have ever seen! I think they get their license out of a Cracker Jack box.
You forgot to mention how EVEYTHING. Including all their clothes. Has the state flag on it. 😂❤
