10 Places in Maryland You Should NEVER Move To

- Move to these places and you're gonna regret it big time!
Maryland. Known for its blue crabs, beaches, the Ravens, Orioles and its proximity to the nation’s capital, the Old Line State seems like a fantastic place to live. And, overall, it is. But there’s some places you definitely don’t want to call home here.
To measure the bad places in this state, we have to use two things - data and opinion. We’ve looked at a bunch of data, you know - crime, poverty, the quality of schools and home prices. Plus, we took into account YOUR opinion - that’s right - you Marylanders have a lot to say about which places in your states are great and which are not so great. So, while the national anthem may have been written here, it’s not all fireworks and celebrations in the places we’re talking about today.
Let’s get started.

Maryland is expensive state ,and houses cost too much money now .
Ikr. They are so expensive!

In Maryland is high price too .
Agree with 99% of the video...i enjoyed it... I think escape from poverty is easier said than done for most living in poverty tho. Escape is the exception rather than the rule, as the odds are stacked against you. In poverty, there is rarely someone successful to give you guidance. You are surrounded and indoctrinated with the mindset and values associated with poverty often leading to mistakes and bad decisions that help keep you there. Poor education, or even worse, maybe having to choose between staying in school to get a sub-par education while missing meals and work for a bright future, or drop out and work 2 minimum wage jobs or sell drugs to pay for a roof and food today... Rock and a hard place... Those that make it, often make their own way, against the odds, and must go against the current, maybe even making unbelievable sacrafices the average person isnt willing to make. Sorry for the long sermon , and this is a whole other conversation.
depends on where you go but in general its more expensive then other states
I've lived in Maryland my entire life and go to Ocean City every single year. I have never, ever felt unsafe. It's not even close to being the worst place in this state to live.
Only thing bad about ocean city is that there’s nothing to do in the off-season and the tourists who come from Baltimore/Pa every year and forget how to act like humans
That place during the summer is a nightmare. Senior week is just upcoming college students testing their limits and it all happens in OC. It’s why I avoided going there and went to six flags great adventure and Hershey instead.
Forestville, seat pleasant, capitol heights and Eastover need to be added to the list. The suburbs of DC are just as bad as Baltimore
And park heights
Im from cap heights... UR RIGHT😭😂😂😂😭😭😂😂😂
District heights

Don't forget Palmer Park, Kentland, Glenarden!!
I live in Baltimore and yes there is a lot of things wrong but there is good here too. I know you think the things you said about Baltimore is funny but I know the good in Baltimore and I'm not on drugs have a great career and I'm proud to call Baltimore home. Baltimore may not be for everyone but for people like me who see the good and try each day to make life better for not only myself and family but everyone around me.
I live in Baltimore too, and I can not understand the mentality of murdering people over kindergarten type issues. The maturity of our people in Baltimore is stuck in childhood. They have no control over their emotions. Kinda of stunned in their growth or way behind in there development. Maybe it’s lead poisoning.

@@karenhodge2257 I totally agree
I was born and raised in Baltimore as well. I don't know what you guys are talking about but yes Baltimore is a horrible place to live. I moved from there years ago and would never go back..unless I'm going to a family members funeral.
Bmore is dangerous
I love (Maryland) and Virginia and I was born in Baltimore in 1960. I had a great childhood in Baltimore back in the 60s and 70s and I still love the place where I was born . I agree many parts of the city has changed. There are still nice corners of Baltimore and most have moved to Baltimore county. My mom moved us to PG County in 72 which was worst than Baltimore at the time. I lived in Randallstown , Md in Baltimore county in the late 70’s. I don’t think l would have graduated in PG county. I am now in Howard county and I do visit Baltimore mostly for sports games, concerts and restaurants and church. Baltimore still has Value no matter what you think , God still loves Md including Baltimore because it is the richest state in the union despite its reputation. God made Md the engine of this entire country because most of us are hard workers and we spend money to keep the economy going. Thank you Jesus for blessing Md even though others don’t see it
I love when people defend their home state or town. Well done! :-)
Yeah but why would bless America for what she's does and why would God bless maryland because its the richest state are understanding what you're saying 🤔 God has and will not bless maryland
Prince Georges county have plenty of upper Middle class and high class communities. Maybe your parents had you in the lower income area
All of PG County MD wasn't bad in the 1970s because I grew up in Temple Hills during that era and it was integrated, nice neighborhoods etc. It wasn't until the late 80s early 90s when the crime rate heightened and the "white flight" took place.
And God bless you from St. Mary's.

@Reezy Jones He was trying to be nice in this list obviously 🙄
He was being polite when making this list 😂
Come live in the hood and try to make it out 🤷🏾it’s not as simple as you make it seem 😐I mean I’m a firm believer of no excuses but go in the city and try to find a job there is barely any but a liquor store on every Corner
There’s tons of jobs in Baltimore. They’re farther away than walking distance
@@chrislandscaping2973 then what do people who can't afford cars do?
My question is: if a person has no job then are they homeless at that point? The city has 600K residents and I doubt all of them have a job so how do they get by? In terms of housing?
This dude obviously does not know all of Baltimore. City is extremely wealthy in many areas and full of colonial American history. Not to mention we are home to some of the greatest athletes in history.
I respectfully disagree. Baltimore used to be a nice city. Gangs are a BIG problem now in baltimore. As well still holding the title for highest violent crimes.
@@renlynn555 pretty sure Chicago holds that moniker now. Too many people base Baltimore off of The Wire, which granted, has its truthful moments. But Baltimore is by far not the worst place to live in Maryland. There are gangs in every city and town, no matter the level of wealth/poverty or safety in the area.
I own about 40 different rental properties across the city, it’s truly block by block.
Baltimore city may have new homes and reveintsing but the drugs, gangs, and violence is still there
He right about that old bay though 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Maryland is the richest state per capita in the USA isn’t it?
Hi Nick, I love your channel, it’s a way of looking at the real US rather than the touristy bits. I just wanted to say my son left school with no qualifications due to illness. He got himself a little better, and got his first job being a waiter in a country hotel. He then went on to a better job, and was finally made a manager. Then Covid came and he was furloughed, he got a job cleaning doors, desks, lifts, etc at a good company. He worked six days a week, for twelve weeks. At the end of it, he was noticed by the managers, as he would always be polite to everyone, do a good job, and was always smart. He now has a full time job, with good money, and bought his dream car with his savings. I just wanted to say if you have parents that care about their kids, and children that don’t mind cleaning, and working your way up. There are job opportunities out there. People are just so lazy and can’t be bothered.
Rachel! Your son is the type of person we need more of in this nation :)
That is an ordeal, but he overcame it! Good for him! Congratulations to him!
That's the true American spirit.
Agreed some people just don’t want to work.
Hahahahaha so accurate
Maryland has a town called Boring (its super rich) and once called Accident (its very nice)
I'm from Baltimore and wasn't surprised it was number 1. However I was surprised to see so much of the Eastern Shore on this list
Baltimore should be one
Hi Kia! Since you're from MD, can you give me your take on Eastern Shore? Would you recommend it to someone thinking of moving there? I thinking of Worcester county in particular.
@@danasorton6688 Not a lot of jobs, long commutes, but the people are nice as long as you align with them politically. It's pretty out there, but too Trumpy for me.
@@sophiec.365 Yeah, that is for sure something to consider....thank you!
@@danasorton6688 Im from MD as well and as Sophie said not a ton of jobs out there and the police are happy to write tickets as fast as they can.
You absolutely NAILED #7 Hagerstown where if you like Chili’s, IHOP & heroin this is the place for you 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Exactly 😑
If you're giving to live in that part of the state, Frederick is way better. Heroin's still a problem but at least there's stuff to do.
2 out of 3 ain't bad tho 🤣

I have lived in:
1960s Upper Marlboro
1970s Rockville
1980s Laurel (currently)
All have been excellent places to live with the initial small-town appeal. Time has caught up with all of them becoming a bit heavy on suburban expansions to actual city-like motif.
There is one advantage most local areas in Maryland have due to modern transportation systems. I can travel by car, train or bus and in a few hours reach:
Baltimore
Washington DC
Annapolis
Richmond (and points south)
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
New York (and points north)
Columbus O (and points west)
Several National Parks
Many Battlefield and Historical Sites

Hi neighbor. Beltsville here
I live in laurel myself... born and raised
Hello! Abingdon / Bel Air here! I live 20 minutes away from Baltimore and like 20 other places
I grew up in Baltimore city but left 15 years ago. I don’t agree that everyone that remains there can get out. Some people are good people but don’t have the ability to leave. Baltimore will remain regardless due to Its many educational institutions and top hospitals in the nation. I assume if you ever need a complex operation you won’t come to Baltimore city.
Agreed.
You should do the best places to live in Maryland next!! Love your videos!!
Before watching your channel, I had no idea how awful so many small towns were if you're not just driving though. Thank you for pointing out the reality of small town America as well as the big city America.
👋 Hi Nick! OMG your voice continues to get better & better! & those lyrics are simply genius!! Grammy bound my friend! Cool shades btw. 😎 Hugs from Arkansas 🤗 💜💜
The title is “10 worst places in MD” than people screaming “I’m moving out of MD”🙄. MD is still overall a great place, but sadly, some neighborhoods are left behind.
It's like nobody else has watched his 10 worst in other states. Besides Baltimore, these cities would barely crack the list in a lot of those states.
That's everywhere bro.
Love the Baltimore hoods! As much as I love Philly and Camden. Truly a walk back in time. Some of those buildings are completely preserved in their original form. It is like time travel when you explore the buildings and streets.
Yeah wtf Maryland is literally a top 3 state to live in
I'm a resident of the Hagerstown area and have lived in MD my entire life. I'd say this video is pretty accurate tbh. Maryland is the kind of state that has something for everyone. Rural areas, cities, suburbs, rich, poor, etc... There's a reason this state is called "America in Miniature". The weather here is just as wack sometimes too, we get 4 seasons in 1 day sometimes lol
Fellow Haggy resident here, definitely a weird mishmash of all of the country, minus the desert or exotic places, just all the boringness and liminal spaces
I live in boonsboro, and I just go to hagerstown for food and stores. I avoid downtown the rest is fine
It snowed in fucking April once in boonsboro
@@tweekncra1g Yeah, and it's been 85F in February here before. Maryland weather is never consistent.
@EthanWX was looking in the comments for another Hagerstown resident, but i found one that is ALSO named ethan and ALSO has a floppa pfp! weird LOL

Hi Nick love your channel you keep it real and your commentary is so on point!

I'm from Baltimore and it's really wild seeing my childhood church in this video -- the church on the corner @ 14:17 is called Harvest Christian Worship Center. No idea if it's still active since I don't live in MD anymore but boy does it make me sad seeing everything so run down and dilapidated.
Lucky you made it out sir. Meself is gonna get out of ocean shitty for a better future

@@donaldotrump3685 If you want to stay at the beach, move to Rehoboth Beach. It’s great
Nick, you are spot on. Baltimore has gotten so bad I'm moving down south because I can't take it anymore. But there are a few decent places here. Like Calvert county but I have not been there for 13 years. The schools are very good and I'm sure there are a few others. My daughter is an adult now and I had to send her to Virginia with family after my mom passed away and I got ill and was not able to give her all the time and support. I'm so glad I did because she has a great career and awesome husband. Even though our relationship suffered. I really needed to take care of myself. My health was falling. I have 4 major surgeries and 3 minor surgeries
Cumberland here. Growing up it was a great quiet town. All the neighborhood kids could stay out until the streetlights came on and you could sleep with your doors unlocked. They moved a few for-profit prisons in here and everything went downhill after that. People are calling Cumberland little Baltimore because its getting rougher by the day. BUT as long as you stay out of the rough spots you’re good. Also, you only showed street-view pictures of Goethe St and Baltimore St which literally intersect in a bad area of town. Check out some houses on Washington street. Mansions
I've heard Hagerstown called Little Baltimore as well.
Love how you narrated that! Informative in all the aspects I would touch on. Thank you, man!!
Baltimore should be the whole top ten.. especially for a black man 😭😭
It’s beyond a shame that Hagerstown suffers the issues it does. The history of the area and the town itself, is varied and interesting. Now let’s add enormous warehouses, increased prices, new commercial chain stores and extra nutty drivers for our near future!
I'm packing my suitcase as I'm listening to this. Headed back to Rockville after a 2 week vacation seeing my family in Florida. Can't wait to get home. I love the DC area.
The whole I drove through Baltimore on a Sunday and no one was in church bit 🙄🙄. Delusional if you think that is a mark of a productive/good person.
I have driven through Baltimore on a Sunday and definitely seen ppl in their Sunday best. His comment seemed very biased, especially when no one he filmed when he said that was doing anything but walking down the street. That must be a ‘sign’ to him of bad ppl 🤷♀️
I was certain that Baltimore would take the 1-10 spot on this video
Yeah, easily could have all been Baltimore if you do the individual communities within it… probably with some to spare. lol
I literally came here to see if Baltimore was on the list lol.
Hmm, most of the ppl that share info with you don't live in the area, heard from someone else, watch the Wire..and are too afraid to even leave Zootopia(the best areas the government focus on where most taxpayers money is being spent and the biggest reason crime is so bad when you take away the resources). They stay in the rural area. Also statistics can be fabricated documents aren't legit...and Ocean City/Salisbury isn't that bad...someone who's not use to seeing something see something one time and say "Oh my it's bad here!" This whole video is someone just mocking a state and never lived here....I drive Lyft and 90% of ppl who lived here really don't know anything outside of the rural area they live. Man get the hell out of here with that bogus claim..nothing to do..but everyone is coming here every day. You sound foolish for real...
He used the wire as a valid reason why Baltimore was bad. The Wire, a fictional show based on true events literally filmed within a few blocks of a big city. A few blocks could never sum up an entire city.
Salisbury is really one of the best. I lived near there for several years and liked it except for lack of job opportunities.
U must live in the good parts.
I grew up there, not far from church, it got really really hood.
I was chased on a jog, a homeless man threatened to kill me. A dealer threatened to kill me for asking them to leave my moms yard because they were starting a fire.
A man jerked off at my mom.
Needles constantly in the yard.
It’s uhh, not great opposite side of he tracks from prmc.
as a native Baltimorean I can honestly say it was a great city in which to be raised and to pursue good jobs. sadly, when I bought (and sold a condo in 2005) in East Baltimore 30 years ago things on the decline were becoming more apparent. I changed my zip code in 2001 2 months after the 9/11 attacks and it couldn't have been a quieter time to move because the whole country was in a state of shock. as time progressed the vitality of waterfront living complete with good neighbors took hold and I have been here in A.A. County ever since. retirement goals include a move to a tax friendlier location. for now
the cost of living here is quite manageable. buying another home in MD, however, not on my radar. Delaware is calling...
Haha. Or Florida - enjoy that retirement smile 😃
I love living in Bmore
I've lived in maryland for the last 25 years. Pretty accurate video so you obviously did your research. Frederick is probably the best city in my opinion and of course Baltimore is a mess. We're planning on leaving Maryland in near future because we don't want to rent for the rest of our lives as the home prices make me sick to my stomach
yeah cost of living is pretty shit here, esp housing mainly bc were right next to DC; and DC is really overrated unless your a gov. employee lol
Not a fan of Columbia?
@@stephenandrzejewski6765 I lived in Columbia for 10 years. Too much crime and drugs
Frederick is not really bad at all. Besides the high cost of living its a decent place to live.
So how about Gaithersburg how's that?
I really hate when people try to formulate an opinion about Baltimore City based on The Wire. The Wire does not represent Baltimore City as a whole.
Kinda does. I'd say its the asshole of the United States but Chicago takes that. Baltimore is the dirty Gooch...
I agree with @Jetsmith
@@true_identity speaking as someone from there I’d have to disagree with you. There was no abandoned houses in any neighborhood I lived in nor grew up in. He literally stayed in a certain area when he rode threw Baltimore. That’s not accurate of the entire city.
What blows my mind about Baltimore is that it is almost street by street . Nice houses and seemingly nice neighborhood, one street over is terrible and up there with worst in the country
I did but was smart enough to move out. It's the drizzling shits.
Great video and very accurate!

NO!! Do not move there its not worth it
Having lived in both MD and FL, you will find MD much nicer. Better schools (by far), better government, and some really great people. Frederick, Howard, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll and Montgomery Counties are all top notch areas to consider.
Southern maryland is nice too if you have can find work with a decent commute.
I am from Baltimore and what you said about Baltimore is the absolute truth. I left there at 17 went in the military. Went back moved out to Tampa Bay Florida. It’s so different I love my old Baltimore. All the great jobs are long gone. Blame the politicians for this. They sold the country out paying companies to close American plants move over seas send finished products back here no terriffs they get super rich America crumbles. Baltimore was a great place to live work shop and call home. Now it’s so depressing to see her like this it brings tears down my face. I care I love my hometown. It’s just not America anymore. God help us please? When I fly back to see a special doctor or family member I get out as quick as I can. It’s so sad.
I’m from Annapolis the capital city of the state
I have lived in Md for 55 of my 60 years in Bowie,....and have visited or made deliveries to just about every inch of the state. All in all, I think Nick does a pretty good job of describing the state. There are so many nuances as to why this area may be bad,....or just a few miles away very good,.....that Nick can't possibly know. I have spent a few years looking at, and visiting places to retire,...and so far MD is still looking pretty good. And after crunching the numbers,...the taxes in retirement are not bad.
because Nick is doing pc vlogs. hush on segregation, police abuse, police occupying rundown ghettos. all oppressed minority towns (code for property crime, rape)
@@nudawn110 thank you for telling the truth.
@@nudawn110 Yes. Thank you for telling the truth. White flight and the loss of manufacturing jobs over 70 years have left Baltimore and other major cities in the U.S. a shell of their former self's. It's easy to blame victims for the results of these issues because they're the ones left holding the bag. It's as if people think, yes I will wake up one day and decide to be an unemployed, undereducated, murderer, rapist, junkie thief.
But it's funny how with the building of the super highways, white flight, moving jobs out of the cities and out of the country, and finding these mountainous and beach covered Utopias that they have become the crap holes that that they have left behind. Oh the hypocrisy.
Love the music 🎶🎵❤
Love the end! Thanks for laughs...and video.
In Baltimore, according to one Baltimore city police officer told me, 1 in 3 don't have car insurance. Also, until recently, the squeegee adults were harassing the patrons who work, dine, and enjoy some of the hot spot areas. Due to the mayor being soft on crime, the rating for Brandon Scott is awful. My family worries every time I go into the city. The police commissioner is a complete joke and too soft on those committing violent crimes.
I was born in Washington DC raised in Prince George’s County. Carmody Hills,Riverdale,Suitland then finally Brandywine which was the best. Moved to North Carolina and very happy here for 32 years.

Thank you for the “heads up” about these areas in Maryland.

"Everywhere always seems to smell of weed." 🤔 That is 100% true. It makes it hard to want to keep your windows open.
Yeah, if you’re gonna live in that area may as well live in Frederick or Waynesboro/Chambersburg PA
I love Maryland. Folks here are pretty cool and nice for the most part. Maryland truly is a state of Blue collar and white collar folks. We live in Frederick, Md and we love it here. Pretty quiet small town feel. Good diversity and folks are pretty polite to each other. Side note, we steer clear of PG county.
I hear ya ,we live in pg and are about to move to southern Maryland soon .

How far of a drive is Frederick to the pentagon area on an average weekday?
@@spencerbishop8724 1 hour with no traffic about 1:30-2 hours at peak rush hour
Another thing that sucks about Maryland is the traffic. We have some of the rudest drivers in the country. People will tailgate, race around everyone, and cut you off constantly.
Maryland traffic is criminally overlooked. Just ask someone who commutes between Frederick and Towson for college and was born and raised here.
I think a lot of our traffic problems in Md. especially on the Shore are tourists.
I thought that... until I went to northern NJ for 5 weeks for work. Now I'm so thankful for MD!

It's full of dems and high taxes. You'll love it!
Even though my state of Pennsylvania took some abuse, I love your honest videos and songs.
My husband is originally from Baltimore (now we live in South Central PA), and we both agree that the song at the end was AMAZING. 🤣🤣
I was born and raised in Baltimore. When I was young, Baltimore was where the work was so many stayed for employment. The only nice places are the boring places or the eastern shore. I currently live in the tax crazy state of PA. It's a beautiful state but the politics are horrible and it's way too expensive for me. I'm ready to get as far away from DC. MD & PA very soon.
I live in Central PA. Boring but safe and quiet back in the mountains. Taxes are lower too. As long as you have some kind of modest income you can live well here.
Beautiful place
Curberland is beautiful 😁😁💓🇧🇷
I live in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County. It's cheaper than dirt here, my rent is 675.00/month with all utilities included. I'm 37 and lived here all my life except for 4 years I lived in Philly where I was in a boxing school. Tamaqua is an old-skool mining town, there's alot of bars, diners and usual small town things. There's tons of jobs in the industrial park 8 miles up the road. Routes 309 and 209 cross here so it's easy to get to Allentown, Reading, Wilkes-Barre, Pottsville, Hazelton and Scranton. I've been all over PA many times and this area is the easiest place to live. You can live like a king here if you make 15.00/hr or more. I make around 28.00/hr cash and I love it here...
He better stay the f#,k out of Essex, MD!! Definitely a terrible ghetto neighborhood!!
I used to live there in 2001! I started at Verizon Wireless on 9/11!! And I lived there wgen that DC sniper was murdering innocent people! I had to walk the "gaulet" every single day, on my way to work in Pikesville, MD.

The ending music 😁👍👍👍😩, spot on!
Hahah dude ur comments were spot on! Straight to the point and very honest. I totally agree with everything u said and actually learned a little about some of the other places I want to avoid for my next home purchases. That being said, any cities in MD u recommend for safety?
Born and raised in Fredrick, MD.
And I have to wonder, after living there for almost 20 years, how close was it to making the list? If at all?
(I also lived in Hagerstown for about 10 years, I agree with your remarks 100%)
frederick is in the top 30 according to some lists, id say its pretty close to the level that haagerstown is at. id say frederick is more violent, and opiates have a stronghold in the community. they demolished many of the ‘bad’ projects and revitalization is on way.
Still currently live in Frederick, and honestly, the cities pretty great for the most part now. Even in the “worse” areas, people are still friendly and I feel safe
Frederick is great so I think it's on the list of top places, if not the top!
Salisbury and Ocean City have made this list twice! I’m so proud!
Like you said, if you can afford it, you can find very nice areas in Maryland, but if you don't have the dough... the lower end of desirable will be a bit closer to you. I love being so close to the nation's capitol, quick trips into VA, short getaways to the bay and areas close to being country (where I grew up), but the cost especially during the pandemic and the deterioration of neighborhoods is a deterrent to home buying.

As someone who visits Ocean City each summer, I have observed that most crime occurs on the weekends when the day trippers come in from Baltimore. Weekdays are usually quiet. Spring break is another time to avoid being there. Drunken college students keep the local police busy.
Ocean City stopped being fun to me a while ago. Rehoboth Beach is so much prettier and not as crazy.
I love going to Ocean City. It's a ton of fun. We usually stay in Berlin and drive over every day. You're right about the weekends. I've found the people in both Ocean City and Berlin to be very warm and friendly.
It's a pirate's town lol u blame Baltimore but actually it's the others that plaque that town more soo
@@danasorton6688 We are!
Someone got stabbed 10 feet away from me last summer
he said they can get out of here if they try hard enough... is this true? with no employment, awful schools, drug addicts and dealers, no positivity and no money. how does a kid with no education and heroin addicts for parents get out? like where do they go? and even if they do get out doesn't it just become an abandoned city, which is part of the problem?
I think he was being sarcastic...?
@@juliantucker807 lol that makes more sense
if they got out the white taxpayers would come back from innacanny and they could rebuild the place.
@@70tonsoffun52 how will they pay taxes when there's no jobs?
@@BigTiggerTV They would create them. I know its hard under Biden, but if we had Trump back a guy with a bit of moxy could get ahead.
Love your videos keep up the good work.
Friendsville, Maryland is my favorite town in Maryland. We used to go white water rafting there.
I was in Waldorf, Maryland. I like my trip out there. People are nice to me. Just it's so expensive out there. You gotta have a good job to make a great living out there. Other than that, it's a cool place.
Aye Charles county gang 🤟🤣 I live in Indian Head
@@cooperraleigh That what's up! I like yall sea food, lol.
And car insurance gonna be expensive too because of all the car theft & crime in MD!
@@jgrysiak6566 That's true. I saw the news about it. I was in Maryland for May until late June. So many stores. I was walking aside interstate which it was fun. I learned about economy out there. I like to cross the bridge to go to Virginia Super Walmart, lol
Waldorf is just becoming a more rural PG County
We live in the heart of the hood besides Baltimore, PG county. I’ve a neck ache from shoulder looking .
My parents use to go to Gluts in Mount Rainer all the time. I’m born and raised in DC. Mount Rainier is literally across the street from Northeast DC
Exactly
Accurate and unintentionally (?) hilarious. Thank you!
I’m possibly moving there in a few months so I’m sooooo happy you did this video!!! Thank you!!
glad i was helpful!
@@NickJohnson I think once I figure out if I am moving I’ll have to reach out to you and see where I should move as a young adult who wants things to do but doesn’t want to be mugged 🤣
@@gcthethird thank you I will!!! I wanted to live in silver spring but it seemed a little sketch 🤣
You do not want to move there it's the worst
Every were in Maryland is bad they moved so many people around that is poor its hard to move some were safe there I got out of there 6 yrs ago
I was born and raised in MD, MC/PG. It has it's rough spots no different than any other state. It was a small southern state, rich with southern culture and charm with great opportunities being so close to DC. Those who question our culture are the problem. MD is now filled with people who were not born and raised southern. They are implants from the different administrations and military implants from all over the country. They don't say good morning, introduce themselves when they move into your neighborhood, etc.. And for those who stay clear of PG county, check out the avg home price, earned income, education level. They are tops in the country and I'm sure are all higher than where it's critics live. And if you don't love Old Bay, you have issues.
Totally agree with you. Having grown up in a very friendly Maryland/PG Co. is why I ended up in Texas. It reminds me of the Maryland I
grew up in. People also don’t realize when DC did their big crackdown in the 90,s it pushed everything out to suburbs of MD and VA to communities that were already struggling.
I am from Maryland .All my family from my mom side is from Maryland back year ,1700s .Maryland is over price, but I do miss it . Harford county Maryland is the place my family come from .
@@donnapoolejackofalltrades7827 my family comes from Worcester County
I agree Northern VA is the same it's completely changed throughout the years
I miss when MD was like this 😩
I love your channel! 💕😂
As a life long resident, I say you're spot on!
Participation award goes out to Taneytown, Md!
Westminster, Maryland representing 🙌
Everyone who visits this weekend will watch this. Or else. Deep roots in Md here, my 2-greats-grandfather was once sheriff in Cecil Co. during the 1890s, wonder what he would think of Elkton today. Tactful not to mention that the entire Eastern Shore is gonna be submerged within 50 years, btw. Great that Nick ends on a high note and hopeful for positive change.
I always do
Your a little more balanced in this new video of Maryland than your last one. Thanks
haha ok frank
@@NickJohnson Your last video of Maryland did make me laugh though. = ) You went real HARD on Prince Georges county = 0
oh thats where I live PG
I used to live in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Traffic would be so bad because we were in between the two major highways of Salisbury (Highway 13) and Ocean City (Highway 113) so the highway would be so busy
The freestyles at the end are killing me! 😂😂
Your blanket assessment of the people of Baltimore is extremely critical. It’s easier to say things like that when you don’t live here. Yes, the city has a ton of problems, but dragging the residents of the city doesn’t solve a damn thing.
After seeing your other video about Baltimore, I just HAD to see this video. After all how could Baltimore not be on this list? Clocking in at #1 naturally, in Maryland what could be worse, eh? Oh right, Washington, but thankfully even though mostly on our side of the river, they are their own enclave. Good chuckle again on Baltimore, of course, some common footage too. At about 12 min, you're cruising north on Pennsylvania ave, and at North ave, on the left is the Tickner building on the corner. My old neighborhood! The Frederick Tickner funeral home used to one of Baltimore's most eminent. Shame they aren't around anymore, business would be booming. Standing Bmore joke used to be asking "Ready for Freddy?", meaning Freddy Tickner of course. Now believe it or not, 70 years ago that WAS a nice neighborhood. Sad just sad.
Damn!
Yes, 70 years ago it WAS nice....now crap. Just down from your neighborhood was where my dad started working at 1515 E. North Avenue, in what was a renovated 3-story townhome with additions on the rear. (A. J. Buck & Son veterinary supplies) I remember visiting there once or twice when I was a young boy. My parents and sister are now buried in New Cathedral Cemetery - I doubt if I'll ever see their grave again....too dangerous of an area.
Now that all of my relatives from Baltimore are deceased, there is just no reason to visit my childhood stomping grounds...it has changed so much for the worse. As you said, "Sad..just sad..."
Ocean City is just an entirely different place from 60 years ago as well. Once a quaint little shore town, now "Fort Lauderdale North". I'll probably never visit there again as well. J.M., Myrtle Beach SC
Hey Nick & Mappy Great to see You 👀 👍 😀
Nick: I love your shows. Is your theme song "Monday Night Football" or "Sunday Night Movie"?
Good post, Nick. Your work gives the rest of us a decent heads-up when it comes to our choice of where to call "home."
I live in the quiet hills of central TN. I own my home and live OK on $600. S.S.
People are courteous, where some even wave while driving their cars.
You pay only $300 a year for over 200 acres of choice land (in certain counties). But they get you in the sq.ft. of your home & barn, even to tax you for an overhang holding your hay!
I'm pretty sure Suitland Md should of made the list. Good video.....
Absolutely
Mr. Johnson I want to thank you for doing Baltimore, you were right on point actually you were really kind.
I enjoy you channel I’m subscribed to your channel.
Great Michael
Hey Nick I can definitely vouch for Maryland some parts of it does remind you of Vietnam some parts of Baltimore is hell I can definitely vouch for that bladensburg I have friends that live on in bladensburg and it's pretty bad over there as well so you're definitely right about what you're saying good video
I'm gonna guess anywhere in the DC area won't be in it. Maryland is a nice state from the stretch I drove through, but I'm sure Baltimore areas will be on here.
There are some awful areas right around D.C. Southern Prince George's County is an extension of southeast D.C. all the way. Though most of the suburbs are amazing and I love living in them.
Pretty much the worst places to live in Maryland are Cumberland, Hagerstown, and Baltimore
@@greenmind0428 as someone from West PG this is facts
I live in Hagerstown and you are absolutely right about everything here, it totally sucks and people here freak me out. I usually stay to myself and do my best to stay away from the public because of how bad things are here. I'd rather be back in Williamsport where I consider home when my mom was alive. I miss it there and if I wasn't struggling financially, I'd love to go back home and get out of Hagerstown
I'm sorry about your mom 😢
@@NickJohnson Thank you, it really means alot. I'm so glad you did a video on this, I knew where I live would pop up on it seeing how things are here personally. It's not everyday someone hears from a content creator but I'm glad I was one of the lucky ones. Keep doing what you do, I look forward to seeing more from you bud 🙂
sorry about your mom, i live in hs aswell
Hagerstown absolutely sucks. Try and go down to Frederick if you can, it's much better.
@@FreshTillDeath56 i think were good
Well that was inspirational!!!
Not surprised to see Hagerstown on the list. This place is only a 20 min drive from my hometown. But the first of your videos to see somewhere close to where I'm from.
Great videos. I always dream of visiting America. After watching your videos, I decided never ever to go there. It's scary
Not all of America is scary. There are some beautiful places to live and visit.

Was born in Frederick Maryland and moved to Hagerstown Maryland when I was five or six years old and at the age of 23 I moved to Saint Augustine Florida.
