Hello nick love you're clearness of speaking the real thing tp covers or hides .that's me ..well I will like to ask what state I can buy a home with out high prices like in California .thank you
Growing up I remember something my father told me as a young teen. He said, " I can live next door to anyone, but not everyone wants to live next door to me." I say live and let live. We don't have to be friends but we also don't have to be enemies.
You look like kind people. Ya wanna live next door to me? Well, actually, I can't offer next door, but there are houses in my neighborhood for sale, including one down the street and one just around the corner. Nice neighborhood, quiet & safe. Quite a few kids, great school district, the neighbors I know are good people. Lots of opportunity in Iowa right now -- everyone is hiring. Iowa is full of hard workers and good neighbors; we're always happy to see more of those! 💗
@@jeannieneuser5316 that's how you feel, but what about your neighbors? Maybe they would prefer that their street remain racially segregated. What right do you have to invite strangers to move in?
People will hate you because you are pretty and hate you because you are ugly, hate you because you are rich and hate you because you are poor, hate you because you are black and hate you because you are white, just don’t associate with Haters, walk with the wise!
@@yaz447 I agree completely. When you have someone who’s brainwashed by the current day “woke” culture and sitting behind a hiring desk, I’d sure hate to be white or Asian. I’d sure hate to be white and encounter a police Officer, seeing how they shoot way more armed and unarmed whites than any other color. Then the media for some reason will only show cases where it’s a minority involved. It’s almost like the media has a certain narrative to uphold. It’s almost like they want to cause division. Weird. Especially we need to be careful of the people in Congress. How sick is it that certain Congress men and women actually want to defund the police in areas where it’s needed most. It’s almost like they want those areas destroyed. Yet people in those neighborhoods keep voting for those same people. Strange. I’m with you though 100% my friend. ❤️

Yes, that is exactly what I think as well. My stance is that judging by race is discriminatory and regressive because race does not affect character, nor anything.
I’m a white woman, married to a white man. I was born in New Jersey and grew up in California, he’s from Cajun country. In the Deep South, I saw mutual segregation, but everyone was friendly to everyone else. What I DID see shocked the hell out of me, and still does. I had white people slam doors in my face. White people wouldn’t serve me at a high school snack bar at basketball games. I got dirty looks ALL THE TIME. Why? It’s a super tiny southern town and I was a “northerner” who stole an eligible bachelor. Who WAS nice to me??? Only the black people. They’d hold open doors for me, smile when passing, etc. More proof that an a$$hole is an a$$hole; a kind person is a kind person. You’ve got BOTH in ALL colors.
I live in the south was born and raised in California I've never experienced any of that crap you must've came across wrong I've found nothing but nice people in the south white and black You should get your shit together and try again
In my mid fifties now, remember my father talking about a family that moved on to our street. Both, my parents and grandparents used derogatory terms, growing up during the civil rights struggles. I feel like my generation got much more exposure to equality and I feel much more accepting than my elders. The key lies in education and surrounding future generations with equality. We learn what we live.
New York getting called out 🤣🤣🤣🤣 been saying this my whole damn life!!!! Ohio to! The biggest problem with NY, PA & Ohio is that once you get outside of the cities everything becomes extremely segregated.

I agree with the one guy. I had an African friend. I asked him why African do not like/respect black Americans. He confirmed the fact that Africans think black Americans squander their opportunities. I reminded him that immigrant blacks are offered free housing, education, business loans etc. I told him native black Americans are not given these things. We have to qualify and are most often denied.
We didn't squander our opportunities, it was STOLEN from us. You white folks got generational wealth by obtaining OUR Ancestors Land. 👉🏿🌎 Your Great Grandfathers didn't own it. So our Generational wealth disappeared when white folks appeared. So now we have to "pull ourselves up from the bootstraps". 😂
I just moved from Philly to KY. Philly is way more judgemental and oppressive for minorities than Kentucky. Large cities have way more issues than rural America.

I don’t know what is happening in these other areas, but as I was always taught and told growing up and I teach my kids the same thing. You judge not, least you be judged! I was always told that each person you meet is different, they have their own ideas and beliefs. You treat them as you would want them to treat you. No matter what color, ethnicity, cultural background or religion they are if you treat them with kindness and respect you will almost always be treated with the same level of kindness and respect. That is the way it should always be!!

I grew up in south Philly south jersey area and I've never experienced any racism. I went to college in Louisville KY and still no racism. It wasn't until I lived in the Alabama Tennessee area that I was called an uppity "N" I was shocked and I got mouthy because the gentleman didn't even have on a shirt with his overalls. Once I got back in my car it hit me that could have ended badly for me. An elder in Tennessee told me she never left the town she lived in because the white folks knew her there and in other cities they didn't . Imagine the fear to never leave some where for that reason. It's so sad.
I thoroughly enjoy your channel . On a bigger perspective ; if you travel around the world . Prejudices occur not only on race but on nationality , tribes , clans and states . I guess as a mankind ; we just don't know how to stop prejudisim .
Prejudice is the foundation of the survival instinct. All of us are constantly evaluating threats subconsciously. Pre-conceived notions, or prejudices, are what initially create “awareness” that “this person could be a threat” and our analysis goes from there. All this happens within seconds.
I lived in Camden County southern Georgia for 2 years in the 80's, I met some of the most genuine wonderful caring folks I had ever came across in my young life(19yrs), these kind people would of been considered white trash to those classifying Americans. Being born in America to both Mexican parents I had some of the worst ideas running through my head when I received orders to be stationed there. I believed that the color of my skin was going to be a big concern for me, but it turned out to be an overreaction on my part from what I had seen in movies, t.v., and heard of old stories of the Deep South. I honestly believe that the mutual respect we shared toward each other back then made our friendship effortless and enlightening, I truly appreciate and loved the experience learned and I have to give thanks to every single St. Mary's and Kingsland individual I personally met for keeping an open mind and having love for fellow citizens that might look and talk slightly different, God bless America🙏.
I've been to both White & Black funeral homes and can say when it comes to planning a home going for a loved one both will try to rip you off because they know every decision is based on emotions.
One time I lived in the hood, small hood. We were the only "white people" in the area, even though it wasn't a HUGE crime filled area like the heights. Our neighbor who played nice jazz/piano music next door had cancer and finally he died. We attended his ceremony in a small church and we just got stared at like we were the ones why he's dead. Nobody said anything. I could imagine what they might've been saying in their mind. Michigan can be prejudice af too. Especially in the detroit area.

I’ve had this conversation before but as someone who raised not to see color, why is it important to see the color of your skin? A man I respected very much said it was important to see him not just as a man but as a black man. I never understood this. Just trying to understand.
I don’t agree with the, “I see color” mentality. It doesn’t mean you are recognizing hardships, it means that you are judging people based on their skin color and that’s not ok. Get to know people as individuals and keep an open mind. So many people have struggled and had a hard life. Yet, so many others have had a good life…. and the color of someone’s skin isn’t going to tell you that.

Saying you're not racist isn't very helpful, but saying you're actively against racism, want kids to not be taught racism, and call out racism when you see or hear it helps a ton.

Staying in school, going to college are important in these communities. Having more education in a community on opening their own businesses. How to get loans from others to open businesses. Crime in areas has to be addressed. Teaching your own race not to rob and steal from these businesses. It ruins your community. The businesses move out and the jobs. The property exist, partially because of these things. Without help from the city and communities and people it won't work.

Good Lord Nick! Many black communities lost businesses during the end of segregation. Black Americans, particularly in the deep south, started patronizing white businesses becuase they believed they had more choices available. Actually, they end up hurting businesses in predominantly black communities that provided jobs and other opportunities. You would never see this happen in predominantly Jewish communities because they exercise the importance of supporting their own before anyone else. Black folks have lost that sentiment and, as a result, created a huge void for opportunities in their own community. This has nothing to do with segregation, but all to do with econonmic survival.

I’m going to throw out an opinion. I believe that most of the bias and animosity that is interpreted as racism is not actually racism. It’s a cultural divide. The white and black communities were separated for a long time which led to a difference in values. This was also exacerbated by the end of segregation. While I’m not arguing for segregation, it is true that black business owners and wealthier black men were forced into hiring only from their own communities which led to a normalization of middle class norms. However when segregation ended, all the higher income black individuals in black business owners left the black communities to fester, and this led to the cultural stagnation of the black community. While it is true the black community has been through a lot in the past, I think it’s important that the black community comes to terms with the numerous cultural problems that exist within their community in order to more effectively improve their lives and the lives of their children.

All of us are constantly evaluating threats subconsciously. Pre-conceived notions, or prejudices, are what initially create “awareness” that “this person could be a threat” and our analysis goes from there. All this happens within seconds.
This channel is a gold mine... no cheesy music or lousy editing... but eloquent, witty content and nice cities camera shots.

My grandparents they were highly racists. My dad though, not at all and would even shut down old racists jokes and he grew up in a county that was mainly white in WV. I have four nieces that are all mixed races, one of my best friends moved here from Kenya and became a US citizen after enlisting into the Army.
This is true: black people for a long time now have just assimilated into the larger American community. We 'muricans.🇺🇸
@@saintanthony1529 They do that assimilation at their own peril. You can’t assimilate into a culture that hates you. So sad to see… maybe one day black folks understand the need to work with each other.

Eastern Suffolk County

Pretty much. Your analysis, or, to be fair, your opinion, as you say, to me at least, is comparable to drawing a straight line from point A to point B at a very small angle to the horizontal. And the farther you travel along the horizontal away from the origin of the angle made with respect to the horizontal the greater the distance or gap becomes between the horizontal and the angle made with respect to it. You seem to begin somewhere around the middle, or somewhere near the end farthest away from the origin of things. It’s sort of an abstraction. it’s sort of a putting the cart before the horse.

Florida isn't that bad. Yes, it is part of the Old South. But it was one of the fastest to dump the Jim Crow laws and desegregate. People at the time weren't happy, but it was more a matter of practicality.
One big factor is also the lack of families with old roots in Florida. Most only go back 2-3 generations, if that.

BLM was recently protesting a shooting where a black woman and her children were actually in danger from the suspect that was shot and the protesters were giving the black woman a hard time.
