Hi all in this video we take a look at my latest auction purchase from aston barclay. A 2013 Range Rover Evoque 2.2 SD4. Now the plan is to give this car to the wife and get her out of her expensive old car, so lets see if the car is in good order and crucially will the wife go for it 🤔

I went out the other week and bought the wife a tracksuit. Told her it was a little runaround.
🤣👍
Tell her, even better, it will help get the fat off, she can wear it when she's dusting. I was married once, too. Can't think why it didn't last.

Bloody excellent 🎉
Evening all - hope you enjoy this latest video. I have plenty more videos landing over the next few days including Auction Videos. 👍👍
Lucky Lady, nice car ♥
Sold as Seen with a Range Rooney.
Oh You mean Scolded on Scene 😂😂
Whats the mileage on the old sport one ? Im after one of those
Nice one, Lee. Always working hard and on the move. 👋🇮🇪
Your missus is becoming like Mrs Arthur Daly or Mrs Mainwaring - often mentioned, feared but never ever seen.
Her in doors 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
When I was a youngster all the women wanted to drive tiny cars and persuading them to have a decent sized car was hard.
Nowadays they all seem to want to drive tanks???
Funny how times change.
Glad Mrs CarUK likes the Evoque, it's nice to see one in a colour other than white or grey. Hopefully it will provide good service!
how to tell when a man really loves/fears his wife: disdain of JLR sidelined, £5k top limit smashed, hatred of black wheels flipped 🙃
😂😂😂
The colour is worth the extra money, you can ask more for it.
There's some old air freshener strings caught in the back of the rear view mirror
👍😁 Thanks well spotted
They're keeping the mirror on 😁
@@ohyesitsme 🤣
@@ohyesitsme I hope not as there aren't any on the back of the mirror in my car 😳
You might land up putting less fuel in this new car because when it's broken down on your drive it won't use any fuel at all.
🤣
😂😂
My wife bought herself a car..a hardworking lady who doesn’t like to rely on anyone…happy days, we both work hard!Boomb🎉😂
Check shes not a ladyboy mate. Birds like that are usually a dude. 😂😂😂
That colour is lovely, can’t remember ever seeing one!
The road tax amongst other issues with the Range Rover is why I haven’t owned one.
Wow Lee that’s a lot of car for the money, once sorted that’s a 10K car all day long! Great colour combo ( one of the best I’ve seen). Happy wife, happy life 🙂 Take care my friend
2.2 is the hdi transits diesel i think so pretty reliable. 😊
Lovely car Lee. Your wife should be over the moon with this. The 2.2 litre engine is a good choice too. I'd much rather spend a little bit more on fuel, and not have to worry so much about expensive engine repairs. Those Ingenium engines make the Ecoboom look reliable.
i wonder why he didnt "heart" your comment,
i asked him i wanted to buy a car, and he chose not to "heart" my comment too,
not sure whats that all about
That's a really nice colour!
That's just the deposit on a new one (Or the amount of depreciation within the first 3 months)
Really nice eye catching motor…such a welcome change from the usual black.
Lee I have had a 2017 xe with according to you a totally unreliable ingenium diesel engine for over 5 years now and I have had absolutely no issues with it at all, it's fast, economical and totally reliable, as long as it's warmed up before you 'use' it and serviced at jaguar it's a lovely thing, so it does annoy me that you tarnish all these engines with the same brush when their are exceptions.
That was a limited edition anniversary colour, and came with a graphite trim outer finishing and wheels...
Be nice to see Evoque when it’s all done :-)
Hi Lee. Wow, i can tell you that I'm over the moon for your wife Lee. She will absolutely love this car, and she deserves it. Nice one, Lee, for bagging this one for her. She will say it's about time that she gets rid of the other one and now gets to roll around in this cool 😎 ride. And nice one to you for bagging this one, I reckon this was a very important car to buy, if only to keep your Missus happy, and if it does nothing else but to make her happy then that will be enough. Fantastic colour 👌and a brilliant engine for her. This has really made my day that you managed to do this for your wife, so well done to you as well, Lee 👏👏. Great video again, bro. And we shall chat soon, my friend. Take it easy and stay safe to you and the family. 👌👍👏😆😅👋🇮🇪
These are actually really decent cars, nearly everyone that slags them off have never actually had any experience and just act on hear say, the best version is the 2014- early 15 with the zf 9 speed auto with 2.2. My wife’s is on 112k now , never once had an issue outside of normal servicing
The 9 speed is better on fuel , 44mpg on the motorway at 70 (1400rpm which for the ones that don’t
Know, dosent always regen at that rpm so I always put it in S and drop to 7th gear which will regen perfectly)
Kindest regards. Sunshine Coast,BC,Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Nice looking Evoque
A 2 Litre Perkins is a reet bobby dazzler and very reliable :)
I bought my wife a new one of these, within 6 weeks it needed a new steering rack, had to fight tooth and nail to get it done on warranty.
New landrovers and faults is something I hear a lot
Just as well you’ve got a garage Lee, I spoke with a mechanic who has one because his wife loves it especially towing the caravan but he did say he spends a lot of time keeping it on the road, does have a Toyota for a runaround though, nice post Lee
Also, get Land Rover to do the recall on the steering rack motor bolts
Fabulous exterior colour and nice two tone interior. Overall I really like the spec and I'm not surprised your wife loves it.
Very nice colour, enjoy the peace for a while🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Got to do what you got to do to keep the wife happy 😂😂😂 or she be pinching your maserati 🤔
Never 😁
Happy Wife = Happy Husband!
Brilliant video great info about everything . Should be as good as this love this guy and car uk great videos keep it up .
Got to keep the Lady of the House happy 👍
Make her pay for any repairs though 🤔
Cash 💴 or
In kind 😉
😂❤
Great tip ref jet washing wheel arches with the patio tool.
I have been doing my patio with the jet tool.
After your tip the pation tool is a lot better for the arches and patio.
I should read instructions
Very very relieved that The Mrs is pleased with the new car, after all you've been through of late Cheers to you both
Nice car that Lee, nice with the colour, pan roof and history
Lee I reckon the evoque in that spec is around half price what it would have been 12 months ago, is it a dynamic spec? As you know you want a auto in one of them, looks a good buy
Yes Auto and dynamic spec 👍thanks for watching leeds
Nice looking thing in that colour 👍
Happy wife, happy life😂
And empty bank account.
@@camperp195lol 🤣🤣🤣
She may not be. He’s getting her to sell her trust well loved RR - Sport. If she doesn’t like it, love it, he’ll know about it 😂
Got the 2.2 in my 07 Freelander 2 great engine, get around 33mpg, never had any major issues apart from wheel bearing (thank god it wasn’t the diff) main thing like you say is good and regular servicing is key
Nice motor lovely colour
oh man range rovers a huge money pit no matter the model
Lucky she's married to someone that can fix them.
I was bang on allmost i said you had bought another Range Rover just presumed a mk2 13 plate onwards Sport with you having previous generation , looks great in blue Lee .
Glad your missus like this lee👍
700 a year on tax is wild. 180 is enough
Mind And Pull Those Air Freshner Elastics Jammed Up Behind The Mirror
Same mechanical setup up as the Freelander 2 on that Evoque.
Proper common sense.
Cheers for the video. I may be interested in the Range Rover Sport, been looking for one for a while. I live in a village in Staffordshire and have to share the potholed lanes with numerous farm vehicles. I'll keep an eye out for your video fella.
You haven't overpaid, happy wife happy you 👍
I was thinking what a good price! Much cheaper than us normal folk pay retail! A good bargain that Evoque. And the blue is actually really smart looking.
Fabulous colour❤!
Great Colour Lee 😊
Just been to Morrisons less than 2 miles away on way back a 19 plate Evoque with AA van & bonnet up with plastic trim off top of head , that in blue looks mint im with you on black wheels, our 14 plate DS3 has black alloys part m/c , someone on the street also has a DS3 but with normal alloys and im biased but our lasses car looks far better. Round corner from me someone has a 2 door Evoque also a convertible with in 200 yards of me .
You mentioned they suffer with dif issues. Funny iv been trying to diagnose mine I thought it was a wheel bearing but now you mention this it could be sounds like a slight whine , I'd ut an expensive job to do. What is it I ned to get looked at can I do it it myself ect. Thnx
You are spot on with regard to the 2.2D v the Indignnationium 2.0d. I would be worried if the 2.0 had done more than 20k, proper grenade fodder
😂
Love the colour ! Love the car ! Hope the sport does well ❤
Hi Lee Happy wife Happy life. So true
Had a Jaguar XF diesel…2012…..had a bluefin remap on it….was like night and day….even with 20s on it….still pulled by most things….
I'd far rather be paying out for extra fuel and reliability than saving on fuel but paying on repair and lacklustre reliabilty, it's a no brainer for me so it would be the 2.2 all the way.....and it's a lovely colour into the bargain.
The wife has gone...............................for the Evoque. Phew, i thought you were going to say she has gone out the door permanently 😂😅😊
Hi Lee it's john from Gibraltar, I believe that these 2.2 diesel engines were Ford engines.A mate of mine owns a 2009 model with this engine. It's automatic and has done almost 180000km.He is very happy with it as he only had minor mechanical issues in the past such as the air mass sensor which he had to replace and a turbo hose.
Hi john, yes the turbo hose is a issue but a cheap one to fix on the 2.2. thanks for watching as always 👍👍
@@carukchannel No problem bud
You did well though £7 grand for a 2013 Range Rover is very good as most on Autotrader are near £10 grand
Love the blue 😍
Looking forward to the Range Rover Sport vid ,, Lee
Keep em coming 👍🏻
It’s funny because my wife wanted me to buy her a Range Rover.
We’re now divorced.
Thank god.
Ha ha 😂
Brilliant
😂😂😂
You got away lucky if she only took half your stuff, a range rover would have done more damage than that!
Fussy buggers is so right . I got sent for a fiesta zetec a few years back and came home with an st because it was only a fiver a month more with a special offer. I thought I was a financial genius but she drove it 3 miles and ended up taking my car cos the ride hurt her puppies. 🤪
😂❤
Lovely colour
My old 2015 evoque with the 2.2 was as good as gold for the just over 5 years I owned it. Really good value for money compared to the bigger range rovers and good all rounder. The only thing that fell apart was the keys 😂
Enjoying the channel.
Honestly I’d rather have a Discovery Sport. More room in boot and better rear vision. But I do like that blue. And the Evoque is pretty and cosmopolitan - good for a lady. Not keen on black wheels. Only had them once on a silver Audi TTS and even though they looked ok, I’d rather have silver alloys every time.
The last of the freelander 2 are nice (with the SD4 engine) but are expensive. Good reputation for reliability though. Finding a nice HSE late freelander 2 is on our list with light interior.
I had a 2011 Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8 with 50k miles on in 2019 for a year or so and quite liked it but let it go in the end at 65k miles. It was a lovely vehicle but just a bit of a big boat. Had a couple of claims on the Land Rover warranty which was a good policy. Covered whole car up to £20k claim. Had about £3000 worth of work done on warranty at Stafford Land Rover with no hassle. Sold it for £22,000 with a cracking private plate (X44 RRV).
I actually preferred driving my old Lexus RX300 which I had a few years back. Customer service at Lexus was next level- friendlier more helpful people at Lexus Stoke than Stafford Land Rover. Different vibe. Not to say Stafford were unpleasant but customer service not as good as Lexus. Lexus used to pull my leg when I told them I was looking at another Range Rover: “that will be in the garage more than on the road! Hope you’ve got breakdown cover!” 🤣
My favourite mid size “SUV” was a petrol Honda CRV some years ago. That car was a little belter and we got attached to it and never had a problem with it. But it was not economical - think we got about 28 mpg locally and maybe 34 on a run. Those early CRVs were my favourite. Only other I fancied was the Volvo XC60 diesel but never owned one. Saw a lovely blue one with the Polestar optimisation for sale in Derby a few years back with a beautiful light coloured interior and good spec but it sold before we could view it.
I used to go now and then to Prees car auctions in the 90s. Used to be on Tuesday and Thursday. Think Thursday used to be for the real rough stuff! I saw some rough old sheds go through there. Can’t remember seeing much nice stuff go through. Looks better nowadays since it’s been rebranded. Funnily enough, I had a friend’s friend looking to sell her Evoque quickly into the trade last week. Don’t know if she’s sold it but it was cheap. But it was a manual. And it was the engine you said to avoid (2018 2 litre diesel TD4). Reg was EE14AMY. Probs still for sale. Similar money to what you paid for that.
Update: WBAC paid her £7250 for her Evoque
Nice to know I’m not the only one who overpays for the Right car 😊
Is the key fob battery flat due to the keyless entry pulsing problem? Fixable?
I seen a 2018 Discovery Sport Hse Td4 2.0 today smoking alot, was white smoke, wonder what the cause was?
What are all the wires sticking out of the back of the rear view mirror for?
its old air freshener string 😁👍
Ah ok at least that's all it is.
@@DJONES8610 for the EV charge point looool
full size range rover sport lol never heard that before lol
You cannot preach about reliability of any cars now that you bought an Evoque. Good luck.
Older 2.2 engine, apparently bulletproof
@@stefanp6233 Its in a JLR product though.
What do you use to get an Evoque cream leather seat up nice and bright and clean? I have a gold/black 2.2 prestige 14 plate
Not sure yet as we have not tackled it. I have used the autoglym products in the past including the cream and cleaner and its decent. We can also use a product called Brisk from autosmart, its supposed to be for carpets and interior but great on leather. In fact Bentley use it on there leather in the factory
beautiful car.....shame everyone wants to slate them....
its a shame they ruined it with the Ingenium rubbish. We have them at work, diesel fumes in the cabin is a regular issue , a nice touch by Land Rover, The 2.2 is night and day better. Nice colour, you’ve got lots of credit coming for this if its a gooden Lee!…
Someone must have put something in the water in Crewe for you to be buying a RRover. Best of luck selling your old RRover 3 litre when I tried selling my 2010 93000 RRover Sport a couple of months ago most dealers wouldn't even look at it as a PX. I think you might land up taking your old RRover to WBAC and take a couple of grand for it.
Any idea how much it a replacement key? I bought my wife 1 but only 1 key unfortunately
.
Not a fan of the Evoque, but it does look fantastic in that colour scheme.
Not a fan of them either but it at least looks a good one as you say, thanks for watching tim
@caruk whats the mileage on that range rover sport im after one
I'm surprised that the old range rover is ulez compliant but your newer one is not 😮
Be lucky if it leaves Cheshire with the wife behind the wheel 😁
Is it the PSA 2.2 or the Puma 2.2 from the Transit/ Mk3 Mondeo?
Transit
Happy Mrs. That's all that matters
😅
OMG be better with a proper land rover defender old type money in the bank 😊
Very true
The gateman believes you.... wow, he must be softening up in his not so old age.
😂
I always liked Evoques, until i saw one on a ramp one day had a look underneath its was all crusty
Local running? With DPF not sure.
There are some longer journeys in the week on A roads so hopefully should be enough to keep the regen cycle up
@@carukchannelGood luck hope your right.
10k miles in 3 years and lots of town driving; won't the DPF clog up all the while?
What is the insurance like on the Evoque?
Trade insurance so I wouldn't know sorry,.
Sounds like Yur Mrs has been watching a bit too much Real Housewives fella, Chelsea tractors SHOUT and scream . . . . .. . Image!
Question. If the car was private bought, does that mean you pay the business for the work being done? Trim pieces, wheels etc?
I could do yes, a reduced labour rate I might add 😁👍
How much you after as a private sale on the RRS 👀👀
Should have gone for a Porsche cayenne tdi. There a lot better and timeless.
That's having a wife for you as long her is happy then you get a better life but really when is a woman ever happy 😂🤣
How much for 2017 Autobiography Evoque 21,900 miles ? Cheers
👌👌
not over paid call it a swap after selling her old one
