Hope you enjoy this auction video, plenty more auction content landing this week 👍👍 Video was accidentally filmed in 24fps so might not be as sharp as normal
I love watching this stuff especially the auction sales. It may be because I'm getting on a bit but please leave the price information for the vehicle visible for the entire length of the sale. I tried to remember the trade price range and the retail price but by the time I get to the end of the sale I forgotten them 😭
To think I paid £100 eight years ago for my 1.6 diesel car.... And yes it's still going strong with 227 thousand miles on the clock.... Citroen knew back then how to make a good diesel engine. 😊
Far greener and good for the environment as all the energy and pollution caused at manufacturing stage, these people who think they are helping by selling their 5 year old car and buying a new one are completely clueless., hope it last longer for you.
It seems like cars are at end of life around 15 years. My "new" car is 30 years old (1994 Toyota Celica) and my slightly older one is 52 years (1972 Hillman Avenger, granted it has cost some money to keep going). Cars just don't seem to be repairable any more. I was surprised to see a MK1 Ford Ka still going, utter rot buckets. It's not just around the fuel filler, you need to take the rear bumper off to see if there's any back end left.
My MK1 Yaris is 24 years old and as reliable as the sunset. Tiny Little 1.0 engine , loads of space to work on, tyres £45 per corner . Thats why there are still loads left on the road
Was looking on BCA today and popped into a couple of the online auctions. I would say that 40% of the cars going through had gearbox problems, engine management lights or other problems. Most were selling for less than CAP clean but the fees and repairs eating into any profit.
Ever tried that G3 auction Lee? Evidently some dealers are saying there are good prices going through. And I remember back in the day you mentioned going to different auction halls, mind you, you did once and it had a bar in it🍺not forgetting the old car dealers rule, don’t drink and bid! hic.
Yes I have been asked a number of times to go to G3 but not been as of yet. From What I can see they don't seem any cheaper than AB tbh. I have got some venues I am visiting this year so including some more local indi auctions
Lee mate, you're the best "I bought an Astra; I didn't really want an Astra." priceless! considering all Range Rovers are fat, a "full-fat Range Rover" must be a beast lol. £1000 for a car with high mileage and a couple of months MOT is quite a shock; had no idea the market had gone there...

Interesting to hear the comments about mileage, here, in France we see much, much higher mileages on vehicles but I think the difference is the lack of short journeys, plus people bus into the city rather than drive.
There will be a shortage of cars sub 10 yrars old soon because little or nothing was built bewteen 2020 and mid 2023 and then take out all the electric cars with knackered batteries and diesels which they want off the road and what will be left.
It was very difficult to find anything decent last year but I think production has gone back to normal. The local main dealer has just filled their overflow car park with 36 brand new Seat Leons. As every single one is white I can only guess that they are destined to be hire or fleet cars. Give it a couple of years and they will be reaching the used market.
Hi Lee cracking video 😉 will be intrested to know what the focus was like when you got it home? Sills rear subframe corrosion . Rust is the biggest porblem on the focus the engines are good as long as they are not dirty diesels !! 😉
Hi Lee. I was just going to say your Wife would ❤ this Range Rover 😅😅. That C1 is lovely, it would get the customers into the Pitch all day long. It would sell with no worries. That X-type is what i drove when i was selling cars in London until 2017. It cost me £1300 for insurance (traders policy) back then Lee lol 😅. Nice Astra. An 08 Astra over here are €3000, Crazy in Ireland. JESUS!! £2800 for the C1. You could pay £3k for that C1 and took it over here and you would still double your money bro. Cars i would buy for £500 before Covid are now selling fast for £3k. Unbelievable!! Brilliant video. I love the Auction stuff. I get so pissed off everytime i watch an auction video Lee because of the cheap prices. We will have to to put our heads together and figure out how to get cars over here lol. Another headache coming on 😅😅. £1800 for an i10 + fees. They are giving away cars lol. 🚗. Not a bad Astra, there's afew quid to be had there. Nice Focus as well. Great video Lee. 😅 🇨🇮👋👋👋
Hi Lee watching the cars go through the auction I thought there were a lot with Red interiors ! But it’s the Heaters above reflecting on the Dash boards 😂😂
As a dealer myself, the situation when buying decent cars hasn’t changed at all, top cars, command, top money. Any small, engine, Fiesta, Polo, Corsa, Jazz, Fabia. Certainly 10 years or newer with average or below average mileage from my experience to go through the ring nearly £1000 over. .. it’s seriously tough out there.
Hi mate. Great video as usual. I'm looking a a Ford grand cmax for my daughter. 6 to 8k budget. Any pointers on what to go for engine wise, auto or manual? Thanks in advance.
Enjoyed the car auction videos, thank you for uploading it. I liked the 2013 Range Rover to think a few years ago it would be around 70k I think. Jag was great to.
24:43 Could just be tryna do a dpf regen that sets the fans going too but it's too much of a risk if it did end up having more serious issues with the cooling system/head gasket
Interesting, informed and insightful. Thanks for sharing. The perennial question, why do auctioneers speak in that ridiculous gabble? Really, really annoying, you can't understand it and serves no purpose.
Love these videos and all the content. Love the twin ari variant of the Alfa Romeo Mito 🤣🤣On a different day you would have ended up with some of the others you bid on.
I was shocked at the prices of what should be the cheap cars at Aston Barclays Wakefield on Wednesday afternoon.I had a decent list of cars. Some of them were rough when seen in the flesh and they were still going for silly money.A lot of junk going through.Ended up buying my first Fiat 500 Lounge on a 2013 plate.Suprised at how nice it drives.
I check used car websites regularly and the numbers of cars for sale increase daily. No matter the size or price or brand; it's numbers increase. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Like someone has said above virtually no new cars were made between 2020 and 2022. In the U.K. they reckon over a million new cars went missing. Now manufacturing is back to normal so there are more to be sold.
VW vans - Transporters and Caddy's make flipping mental money. Next doors bought one. Rough example but he paid all the money for it. His conservatory leaks like a sieve but hey priorities eh?
Another great, instructive video. Whatever happened to that “Strange Lady” of a while ago, has she made a reappearance? BTW, not sure what “Should OF paid more…” means though.
A colleague had one from nearly new and had nothing but electrical problems with it. Having previously had VWs he ended up trading it in for a new Polo in a huff.
How times change bought my first car for 10 quid, hillman imp sold it for 175 with a mot ,put a tyre and silencer to pass the test made a profit of 120 quid not worth the hassle, 2nd car market .1980.

Surprised you can't reTil the Jag x-Type. I had tow of them, a 2.1V6 and a 2.2D, did 220k in each of them, never put a clutch in them, both great cars, better than any shite that VM's turn out these days. If they still made em, I'd have another.
What is the world coming to when a 17 year old Chevrolet Matiz can retail at £1995, that blew me away. The blue Focus looks a nice car from what I could see, don't like the wheels much but that's just a taste thing.
It's the wheels my 2.0L petrol titanium has, I quite like them, but a bitch to clean. Recently put a dashcam in it that's wired to and works with the android head unit that I also put in. Quite snazzy having lane departure and collision warning in a Focus Titanium lol.
My petrol car is 23 years old .started life I. Cornwall, then Spain ,l paid one thousand euros nearly 9 years ago ,and it still thinks it’s a race horse, shoots up hills in 4 th gear,it’s a Peugeot sports 126
A used car forecourt near me has half of the forecourt with land rovers. 15 on last count. With the prices so low I'd be tempted my self if it wasn't for the fact that I'd be waking up every morning wondering if I need to get a taxi because its been robbed
Nice vehicles however I would keep away from a 1.2 petrol, diesels are fine although ad blue can sometimes be a pain with tank sensor issues but overall a decent drive
Nothing wrong with the engine, just trying to sell a fiesta with a 1.6 petrol engine is not desirable, customers expect them to be economical 1.2 or 1.4 etc
