The Ford Focus for £200 was an absolute bargain, sound was good. Those cars were built really well, I know, I have one. And so cheap to keep on the road, cheap insurance, cheap tyres, parts from EBay and Amazon and they are so so reliable. Don’t say I don’t know about cars as used to build my own rally cars and I’ve had 7 Saab, 8 BMW, some really awful Mercedes etc etc. Don’t dismiss an older car because of the reg. I know ULEZ etc but if you don’t do ULEZ there can be super bargains to be had.
Exactly... My 2008 Volvo (S80 D5) has been an incredible machine - cost me £3k with 105k miles on the clock and it's not put a foot wrong... Heavy on wear and tear items yes, but no trouble at all.

That A3 Sportback looks a right belter, nice one. I always look at these when they come up for sale and I don't think I have ever seen a 1.6 petrol one in S-Line trim. The diesels scare me, too flakey (I have a diesel A4 Cabriolet which I only bought because it was very cheap) and a 1.6 petrol seems a safer bet. I'm sure it won't hang about on the pitch 👌
Really enjoy the auction vids, thanks. I'm sure you said you'd never won any cars in January auctions. Consider that duck well and truly broke..... Should've got that old Focus though. Bit of memorabilia.
Hi Lee. Great wins today. Glad you got the Audi - I was rooting for you. That Seat was a surprise. The online bidders will have a few surprises today - the sirocco - the peugeot. nice one Lee. another quality feature length video. quick question: 2 exact same same cars. Same year, same spec and same condition. Once has done 85k and had 5 owners, the other 99k and 2 owners. Generally speaking, what's the better option?
After fees and costs like dints, paint, tyres, wheel refurbs, the odd broken parts, mot, service, valet, fuel, advertising and storage costs plus time taken to do all this, there's no guarantee you will get the retail price you want either, its a huge gamble and potential headache.

yup, pre 2017 cheap road tax stuff still sells, the diesels not so much because of ULEZ,but the cars are sound enough. post 2017 there's not a lot of difference in price because the overall running costs are higher, you actually get a better deal on an ex fleet 5-6 years old if you're prepared to pay the extra road tax.
