This was great. Freelander 2 are awesome cars and very reliable. The one I used to own is now on 264,000 miles. Still drives up and down to the South of France. 2.2 engines are v reliable.
Loved this! reminds me of going to Manheim Colchester lat 1990's! Just for the experience, then started buying cheap and cheerful in what I called 'Banger Night' every Thursday evening. I can remember tatty Sierras going through for £25 sold. I employed a bit of 'Bangernomics' through a bad time (Divorce) and on two ocassions bought cars that others there laughed at - a 1986 Audi 90 2.0 for £90 plus fees, fresh MOT after replacing steering rack with used one and some cheap lowering spring as a front one had cracked - 187000 miles up I ran it og 5 months before trading it plus cash for an e34 BMW 535i that did its head gasket a week after I picked it up! But crazziest was a Renault Saffrane 2.5 - huge seats, leather ligned dar (fake wood) barge that was so quiet and comfortable, cost me £200 + fees, ran it for 5 months before head gasket went, never spent a penny on anything but fuel and road tax. Those was the days!
Love those days ,, so many cheap cars from YES car credit ! Even bought a car for £5 .. no buyers fees under £30 … probably 20 years ago !, A pair of trainers cost more than a car !
The car market used to have a lot of older wrecks that ran. Sadly ULEZ and scrappage schemes have sent so many off and the recent lack of new cars and better build quality have killed them off
I bought four cars there over the years, some good deals, kept them for years, then lockdown and then online only for traders, so forced to buy one from a dealer, and gave them a three grand markup, dealers ain't my favourite people, no offence.
Pleased to see Freelander 2s holding their own. Had mine for eight years now - one of the most comfortable cars I've ever had for long trips. Great in the floods and on ice and really reliable.
@@bluenose7984 VED on 'cars' like the FL2 are unaffected, it's the tax on LGV that's increasing to £700/year I think? So a Pathfinder would be half the VED of a Navara, but you have to endure the springs, etc.
Fantastic content. Really enjoyed watching how it should be done,as I'm thinking of going to an auction myself for the first time! 😮 Just got to do a bit more checking out how it's done. I'm sure it's not as easy as you made it look on the day,so I will go through your back catalogue of work until I feel I will have enough confidence to go to one. Thanks for helping out there's valuable lessons to be learnt here. Best wishes 😊
remember checking if the cambelt/wetbelt have been changed on the Ecoboost and it has digital servicebook so meaby there's some more servicehistory to get at Ford
Jump in the cars bud as soon as keys come out, check clutch, windows, blower, everything you can, not the cool way to do it, but it'll save you some nasty fixes, rev the boll**ks off them as well, check for smoke, open bonnet and do your checks as well, you might feel a dick but it'll save you a fortune, plenty of high clutches, non working windows all that stuff at auction, maybe even plug a dongle in if poss, most auctions clear lights, I've seen em do it, look underneath as well, I've had some nasty oil leaks recently, all good advice mate.
Great video. Seemed to be a very sucessful auction. G3 is quite a schlep, but you bought some nice looking stock there, hopefully some were 'cleaners' cars 😂
I can't help but wonder the same thing. Is a Scottish car dealer (John Clark) shipping motors to the other end of the country because they make more money there?
Well done on a good days buying, I was hoping you would buy the BMW 640 as it looks such a fantastic car and beautiful colour BUT do understand that not the greatest seller as you mentioned! Great day and look forward to more info on these.
Love the auction action, you've done ok there, should be nice profits.great advice to anyone bidding, make sure you go over the car again on the drive through, there's always a chance of a nasty surprise low down on the sides somewhere.
Loved the red Range Rover. Noted that the 2.2 is best, but most rover named get a horrendous unreliability rating. But as usual, it’s never the buying of anything that’s mechanical, more the upkeep. But love watching his clips. Brilliant.🏴🏴👍
Hi Kevin just watched your video and that flooring looks fantastic and nice and easy to do . And it's giving me a idea for my new house for the first time I will have a good size work shop so I think that flooding will be absolutely perfect for it ....cheers Phil from Newark

If I had a car ,that was not cost effective,I would send it to an Auction and hope for the best , and if a Dealer gets it ,my win dealer’s loss, that why i don’t, buy from a dealer ps . I looked at a vehicle, all good no Air con ,he said it just needs topping up , no it needed a new system pump at a cost ? 500+ yes I’ll fix it bugger me back on the forcort hoping for some one with iq of 10 to buy it ,,,,,ps love your channel , you must be the most down to earth 🌎 man on this planet , happy new year my friend, all the best
Very nice video, thanks! I really wondered the app that you checked retail price of red Evoque. I checked Autotrader app but I couldn’t find it. Is it for dealers or etc?
Countryman - original generation with the N47 engine! High failure rate with these engines - can be fixed but its engine out and full rebuild. While you are at it, EGR and particulate filter delete plus stage 1 - really improves performance but you are talking 000s to do that work.
Hello from Ireland again Joe. I do love an Astra Gte, Joe (Wink, Wink) lol. Lovely Kia, and that Fiesta, We don't get many of those over here, wow what a nice looking Mondeo. That Nissan Note looks very cheap at £3,600. Joe, that Mini Clubman went for £3,600. £4000 out the door. I'm going to Wreck Your Head next February or around that time lol. And 15 Saab's Joe, at £200 each. Job done 😅😅😅. I haven't seen an Auction video like this for a while, it was brilliant, Joe. Wicked day Mate. Well, I enjoyed it, probably better than you lol. 🙏🙏👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Enjoyed that ta. At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, why not take a pen with you and scribble a short note against cars you want and cars you've ruled out - just a few words would do it
Can you do a video on the fiesta? I think it would make good content specially for everyone who owns an ecoboost like myself. I had one exactly the same years ago and it had about the same mileage and never skipped a beat :)
When doing the sums you must take into consideration what you believe is as a worthwhile return for your time / effort / risk premium when compared to what you would earn as an employee - if this is below £40-50k + then you have to question its viability. Clearly some car sellers are making a very worthwhile return BUT I cannot help but feel there are many more who are not.
You'd have been as well pushing for the up and the note, easy (hopefully) no trouble, little prep, quick sellers, even if your on say 800 quid net, it's a good, easy return, cars like that will always make top money at auction, but will be easy flippers.
Great Video see the Wink Ladies a few times. Can't believe how cheap the Saab 9-3 was £200 and looked remarkably clean. Look forward to Saturdays Weekly 😊
55:00 same wheels as mine… That’s a limited edition gtc you can tell by the 20” rims and the front bumper is more like the vxr version with different styling on the corners where the fog lights sit.. also makes the bumper in that condition worth around £1600 complete.. I picked up one last year 2016 68k only one that didn’t have 2-4yrs advisories for oil leaks like the other 5 I was looking at.. paid £4300.. I will say one thing though I’m never buying another black car bastard always looks dirty where my last silver car never looked dirty…
Why not check the MOT online before making a decision 🤔 Book the Suzuki in for a MOT and you can drive it one trade plates just have proof of MOT booking
The 1.6BlueHDi on the Citroens and Peugeots can suffer with adblue issues, sometimes can be lucky and it’s just a nox sensor but many cases it’s the injector in the adblue system and unfortunately you have to buy a whole new tank Citroen and Peugeot don’t sell the injector separate. The engines themselves pretty reliable it’s just that dam adblue nonsense. I am a Citroen nut always will be but I know they ain’t faultless. Shame about that other Cactus you bought not many in that colour either especially the Feel model having the turbo 1.2 110. Most Feel Puretech are 1.2 82 non turbo.

SUV's are going to be taxed off the road under Starmer's reign. I'm surprised anyones still buying them.

That 640d was a beauty 😍 unimaginable retail score! I'd have that with a drop of a hat as my daily.

Thanks again.
Sandero seat fabric, zip on and off, by design easy and cheap to fix
Hope you do well for yourselfs and thank you for being open and honest and realistic.
Nice to see and hear transparency
your Auction vids are the DBs keep it up
Disclosure & barring service?
Get the eco boost cheap and do a cambelt change correct and will never have issues
Leave the Astra GTC well alone… the 1.4T engine is a timebomb, the Turbos blow up with consistent regularity

Great video and full of make and model insights. Its great you know what cap says its worth but you know what its worth in your area👍
Great vid Joe, noticed a hell of alot of cars from Scotland and northern Scotland down there for auction, any idea of the reason why?
I can't help but wonder the same thing.
Is a Scottish car dealer (John Clark) shipping motors to the other end of the country because they make more money there?
They're worth more geographically.
great car content has usual m8ty.😁
What’s wrong with older cars as they were better built than the newer ones off today 😊
Completely changed my mind about you sir! Great vid... really enjoyed it
Worlds gone made !. BMW 6 series desirability score 2/100 and a sportage 97/100. WOT!
Sure if they had equal overheads and practicality then the sportage would drop quite alot!
BMWs are shit. Dog shit infact. Clung on to the brand for too long, kept hold of analog displays for too long. Shit
Not when bmw repair bill starts flooding in.
People want practical & reliable cars these days and Kia have completely transformed their reputation in the last 10 years or so.
@@theninjaturtle93Kia’s are great right up until the 7 year warranty runs out.

Still watching the vid but my guess is the freelander is a Black Edition. It was a runout limited edition available oddly in only black...or white
@@davidash1008 it’s a Black and White edition apparently 👍

Some great buys there Joe. Pretty decent margins to be had.
Excellent video and geat self control on bidding👍👍👍

I think Fiestas are still in demand - lowish margins, but generally cheap to repair (even eco booms) and sell quickly. Small profit, quick return
Another great insight, Joe! 👍
