  • Welcome to Episode 11 of Wild Angle!! Now this one is a bumper length at 30 minutes of love! It focusses on our experiences with Mason Bees during lockdown, starting with the short show we made for naturalist Chis Packham. After that we look at how we did the slow motion flying and focus stack, before an analysis of my favourite pictures (with an overview of my focus stack technique) and then finally to some great subscriber critiques. It's a bumper show packed with bee love and tips for local photography wherever you are in the world.
Kit used in this show is the Olympus OMD EM-1 MK3 and the 60mm macro.
Picture Critiques - We aim to feature at least one or two subscriber pictures in each show for a shout out and a mini positive critique. If you would like to take part please send your JPEG Quality 10 size 1920 pixels on the longest edge files to andyrouse8508@gmail.com . Please note that anything full res etc will be automatically deleted by our system. If we choose your pic we will be in touch for some more info!
E-Talks and webinars - we have a growing program of e-Talks and Webinars for photographers and animal huggers alike so visit our website www.andyrouse.co.uk for details
Amazon Store - We have an Amazon store page highlighting the common kit that we use plus other stuff we have that you might find interesting. This includes photo hides, camera kit, books, kids books and cool lifestyle stuff. Check it out here - Kit - amzn.to/2wJmvDG
That's all for now please don't forget to Like, Subscribe and tell your friends as the channel is growing and needs your help to take us where we wanna be for you.

Hi Andy. I’m late to the party but, having watched all of your Wild Angle videos, I’ve rekindled my photography interest. Loved creating a feeding station with a branch in my garden - with some success - and also managed to get a couple of days shooting a young little owl in a nearby farm. I had no idea it was there, but just saw it on a dry stone wall as I drove past. Serendipity or maybe tuned in after watching your great piece on little owls. Thanks for your work - a real tonic during strange times!

Fab video and photography Andy. Mason bees UK also have a guardian scheme where you send the nest tubes in at the end of the year and they inspect and clean them and send cocoons back to you in Spring along with replacement nest tubes. I got mine from them this year But I do like to keep some to inspect myself and these are mainly hand made using Giant hogweed and Japnaese knotweed. I line these with paper rolled up. I've been giving nest tubes to solitaries since 2006. So 14 years of it, Love them

Hi Andy! Only just caught up with this episode! 🤦🏻‍♂️
Thank you for including my images in the critique 👍🏻
The tiger (Naseep) was only fractionally cropped.
The damselfly noise on the left was me doing a crap job with the healing tool to take out distractions (ended up creating different ones!) lol
The minimal boost in brightness on the croc really made it pop!
    Thanks again fella! 😉📷🤘🏻

I just posted a video of Bees mating on twitter last night. Not quite up to your standards (nor the photo), but I'll keep trying. 😊
Will have to try the focus-stack next time.
