    There's enough life drain, in various amounts, to warrent Wound Reflection. Nasty card that puts players on a clock..

      Wound Reflection is one of my favourite cards! Totally agree it speeds up games. Would be an awesome addition to this deck

    Loved this deck tech. Love Ayara. Makes me want to build it but I already have Krrik, Korvold and Elenda 😅

      Thank you for the kind words but you can never have too much sacrifice in your MTG life :D

      @@scocasplays6703 Hahaa my friends would strongly disagree! 😂
      I’ve been trying to keep my decks distinct so they don’t all run the same cards and feel slightly different to play. Can I ask your opinion on what I can do to replace key cards such as Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos? I have one copy of each and they’re both in my Korvold deck. I’m unsure how I can control the boardstate without them when I don’t have any chunky blockers of my own.
      Been loving your videos mate!

      Dictate and Pact are definitely hard to replace. The deck lacks removal without them. Butcher of Malakir is an easy budget alternative but is expensive mana value wise. Kindred Dominance can be an option for removal while keeping our Ayara around. Sheoldred, Whispering One can also be another must answer threat.

    I love your videos! Especially the ones focused on mono black. I'm a novice and I'm curious if you would know what the power level of this deck is considered.

    • @scocasplays6703
      @scocasplays6703  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the kind words! Of course power level is subjective. I build most of my decks with the intention of being able to take it to a LGS and be middle of the pack in terms of what others bring. In the number scale I would say a 6.

    How did Blight Mound work for you? I tried it, but eventually took it out.

      I also came to a similar conclusion. It's just OK. I was never really attacking with my pests anyway so a lot of value is not there. It was nice lifegain and sacrifice fodder but it wasn't enough value created.

    Curious if it would be better to go golgari instead especially since Witherbloom is very focused on lifetotal manipulation. Is there any advantage to building the deck around Ayara vs the other aristocrat options?

    • @scocasplays6703
      @scocasplays6703  3 года назад +2

      Completely agree with your observation. I think Golgari (and Rakdos as well) is a great colour combination for Aristocrat strategies. It has the lifegain and ramp that really elevates the strategy as it can usually take a lot of setup. Ayara is a fun commander that doesn't focus on leave the battlefield like other mono black commanders, they are more focused on them coming in. So if you are looking for a different spin on your Aristocrat theme, I'd recommend.
      Adding colours is always a great option for deckbuilding but sometimes the fun is in the restriction. For me, there aren't many green cards I enjoy to play . . . but black cards, well I can play those all day long. Dina, Soul Steeper has been tempting me though!

    • @Smaul002
      @Smaul002 3 года назад

      @@scocasplays6703 I agree about the restriction feeling fun. Plus I find it more rewarding when the deck does well and ppl have to do a double take on your commander. Also mono colored decks are so sleek.
      Yeah, Dina is very tempting. I've personally been torn between Ayara and Savra, Queen of the Golgari. The problem I find with mono black is the wincons feel the same between decks not matter what commander you use. That's the deterrent for me at least. Ayara seems more unique which is drawing me in.

    • @scocasplays6703
      @scocasplays6703  3 года назад

      Agreed. A lot of my black decks have the same wincons. Ayara is fortunate as it combo's really well with Plague of Vermin where others do not. Outside of that, there is Gray Merchant of Asphodel/Torment of Hailfire which are super common in mono black decks.

  • @thebluumarlinletstakeadive3111

    Plague of Vermin === win.
