He was a legend before his time, you can tell he grew up around black people because he got us down solid. RIP Freddie, after watching this he is now on my top five of favorite comics! #Respect
Of course Freddy grew up around black people like most of us Puerto Ricans did. In fact Puerto Ricans are a combination of black, white and Indian people.
I adored Freddie Prinze. I loved Chico and the Man. I was sad when he passed away 😢. The world was sad for me the day I heard he was gone. He was amazing.
I had such a crush on him and even though I was very young, I was devastated when he died. I just pulled this video up to show my daughter who he was because she is a fan of Freddie Prince Jr.
Because of his sitcom fame, people forget what a great stand up comic Freddie Prinze was.. I prefer him doing stand up than playin his "Chico" character. Stand up is where he really shined. He was the whole package as a comic: charismatic, great stage presence, great delivery, nice empathy with the crowd and of course funny material. He could've clearly done this special by himself but he was generous to throw a bone to his comedy peers. The golden age of stand up was definitely in the '70s.
Well said 👍 Prinze was up there with the late great Bill Hicks and George Carlin. Authentic social commentators as well as brilliant comedian's wonder if those three ever met ( Carlin was from New York too so I hope so )
Freddie prinze..1976..I can watch his performances, STILL LAUGHING...had material, 40 plus years later, still hits home...we loved you, freddie... you made us all laugh, even 40 plus years later...

I admire him so much and I only wished I had known of him when I was growing up in Puerto Rico during the 1970s and his show was on. RIP Puerto Rican brother.
Freddie was undoubtedly one of the best to ever do stand up, his success would have never stopped but it was shorted much too soon by the evil pumped out through the pharmaceutical company’s at work and he never got the true help he needed, he will forever be one of my favorites even though he passed well before I was born!!
I was a young child when Chico and the Man was on televiion so I don't have many memories of it. I had no idea how funny and adorable Freddie Prince was. 😺

It dogged Cosby almost from the beginning of his career starting in the sixties. He was a regular at the Playboy Mansion, and I am sure Prinze knew plenty of stories about him.

@Thomas Henderson Cosby said in his act that he thought about raping girls with drugs in their drinks since he was 13.
He called out Cosby because Cosby's exploits were well known in the comedy world. And, it goes way back to the late '60s and '70s.
