Omg thank you so much for this video! I didn’t even need to look at the directions inside of the box! I was able to install my softop is less than an hour and I’m glad I didn’t pay to have someone else do it. You guys rock’
Great instructions!! I was able to follow the video, and install my soft top without any trouble. You saved me hours of work, and a lot of frustration. Thank you!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I have been freaking out at the thought of getting this installed!! This video makes it easy!! Now I need the weather to cooperate!
I am glad I watched this video. The first one I watched from someone else was disorganized and did not do it right, thet installed the upper brackets first then realized they had to put the gasket on it with the down bracket. It was stupid to even keep a video that was wrong on RUclips. So becareful and use this video. Your video is excellent.
Thanks for the instructions, we bought dual top and your instructions made it very easy for me and my wife to install it. Great video and instructions!! Bravo keep them coming.
Fantastic walk through, Rob, as always. Made the install a breeze. Amazingly easier that my old TJ or previous YJ which was an hours long affair. This was barely a hour with with time left over. For those not liking all that hanging hardware, remember you can disconnect the too slider rails and then it all sits down almost like a TJ… almost lol
I am glad you made this video. when I got my dual tops there were no instructions in the box and I have been trying to figure out how this was going to work.
THANK YOU for this video. Extremely helpful compared to the guide that came with the top. It’s why I continue to get all of my Jeep-related products from Quadratec. Great work!
I can't wait until this becomes available. I would have liked to have seen some sort of gasket between the pivot bracket and the rollbar, as to not marr the paint. Great vid guys.
Phillip Craggs Thank You, Thank You, Like others who recently bought the JL and opened their large box to find no instructions I was frazzled. I searched and searched and you guys finally made the video. I cant wait to try the install tomorrow. I am confident after watching your video that I can do this with easy. Thank you agin and shame on Jeep for not including a tutorial of any type. This is my first Jeep and frankly was surprised there were no instructions. Thanks again you are always my first stop 👍🏻
Im glad I watched this before ordering the soft top. My hard top is way easier to install and remove. I can take it and the doors off in 20 minutes or less, and install it in about 15 minutes.
Finished installing my Lange hoist last weekend, while I am greatly enjoying driving around with the top off, it's still getting a little cold in CO at night so putting my soft top on tonight! So far my thoughts on my first Jeep: Least comfortable, least economical, lowest amount of cargo space, least safe vehicle I have ever owned. However, I've never been happier... strange :D I get "it's a Jeep thing" now. hah
Thanks so much for this video! Makes it look easy! Do you guys have (or know of) a video for the 2 door version? I can't find one anywhere online :( looks like a few of the parts are different, and the printed instructions are not super helpful!
Very informative and calming instructions! Followed you frame by frame and installed my soft top today. Thanks a ton 🤗👍 The rear window appears a bit short and did not fit in properly, probably because of cold weather. Will try stretching it after being in the sun. Any advice is welcome 🙏
The first time installing is the hardest. Everything is new and tight. I had the same issues with the vinyl and twill soft tops. It'll loosen up if you keep trying.
GREAT video! Thank you! Never would have figured out how to install it without your video. Install was not intuitive or anything like the JK. Thank you!!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Normally I would want more cut-scenes in my how-to tutorials to shorten the videos, but this one was perfect. It helped to show that the whole process can be done in about 20 minutes once you have everything laid out.
Excellent demonstration. Someone commented below about recommending a gasket between pivot bracket and roll bar. Good idea - I did not think of that when I did it. You could perhaps use black gaffer tape or black electrical tape to make your own gasket. However, I plan on leaving mine bolted to the sport bar even with the hard top, because those brackets make excellent hook-points for bungee cords and stuff when lashing things down in the back. And, they have kind of a cool mechanical "bolt-y" look if that's your thing. For example, I use a bungee cord on the passenger side soft-top bracket and floor loop to hold the driver's side Freedom Top vertically against it. The passenger side Freedom Top rests on the floor of the rear, and I can use a second bungee from one of the left floor loops to the right-side bungee. You can remove and store the Freedom Tops into the rear of the Jeep with a couple bungees in under 2 minutes. And, the rear gate closes no problem if you position the Freedom Top's lips properly. Even did this with cargo/luggage in the back and it was definitely work-able. So, I did not need to use that huge bulky Freedom Top bag (I will in the Summer off-season though). This BTW is for the 4-door Sahara. Might not be able to store the Freedom Tops as easily in the rear cargo area of the 2 door version. Also, discovered there's a nice beefy lip in the forward rollbar piece, i.e., the gray plastic top between the two speakers. This lets you hang stuff like suits and shirts etc. using just a standard clothes hanger. Love this Jeep - it's like a huge erector set!! - The Birdman
question when re-installing the hard top. the only bracket you said that had to be removed was the corner rear bracket. can all other surrounds be left in place
You have to remove the brackets above the doors. The only bracket that can remain are the ones on the back of the roll bar where the top lays into prior to bolting on
Are there any videos showing how to swap the factory base soft top with a new Mopar Twill Soft Top? it didn't come with any instructions and i can't find any videos.
Informative video, thanks! Would you guys recommend rolling up the side and rear windows to save space, or would that negatively affect the plastic used on it?
The one thing that disappoints me is that when the top is down, it looks like so much is going on. There is so much hardware that it does not make the Jeep look good.
Looks like only 4 screws and the whole thing comes back off. I just got two weeks ago and haven't had the top all the way back yet but I can definitely see what you mean. Plus it looks like it takes away a bit of your rear view. I'll see what I think once all this damn rain goes away. Still waiting to get my tool kit from the dealership as well. SO ready to go topless and doorless!
"Whether you purchased your soft top after the fact..." Any idea where I can get said soft top after the fact? Since I'm wanting dual top and dual door, this info is essential.
Your video was awesome and we would never have done it without this video but we can't get the soft top to latch to the front clips. It seems to be about an inch too short. I'm assuming it is because it needs to be stretched. Any advise we are at wits end
Do you have a video of putting the hard top on over the soft top fixtures?! Everything I’ve read, except for this video, states that you have to remove all of the soft top hardware before putting on the hard top ?!
That is correct, you have to remove the soft top and door surrounds before you can put the hard top back on. You can not install the hard top over the soft top fixtures.
Where can I buy bolts for the mopar soft top. I need the long bolts that go into the front door bars from the bottom to the top and the bolts that hold the top on the brackets.
thank you! we purchased the dual top group for my jeep but the box we received in the car did not contain half of the parts yours did😩going to use your video when we figure out the parts situation!
I can not get the windows in the channels. Either I can get the front of the sides tucked in but then not be able to tuck the sides of the rear window in or I can get the rear window with the front of the side windows out of the slot. It’s like it’s too small. Any help out there?
Have you come across a tip that the canvass on the top rear corner was not “stretched” all of the way? My top from factory came with pin holes in it and the Jeep dealership replaced it. When they replaced it, it’s like they didn’t stretch it all the way. They assured me that it would loosen up and would fit better when it got warmer. I took it back 2 times with no help at all. Both times I got to leave it with them for 2 days and came back to the exact same issue. Gave up on them. I haven’t been able to find a video regarding stretching this part out. Any advice?
Just ordered the sailcloth one while it is on sale from you guys today. Does the top part already come assembled to the fabric ??? That would be amazing if so.
I followed the whole thing and got stuck trying to lock the top to the front . It’s seems like the latches won’t match up and the top is two short from the factory .
Received two hook and loop straps and two elastic hoops with my soft top. The elastic hoops had a snap button on them. Where/when are these four items used?
This is RedRex1 and like i said it before step by step instructions and installation thanks quadratec, if you buy. QUADRATEC PRODUCTS FOR YOUR JEEP YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY IN THE RIGHT PLACE,FOR MY SELF I CHOOSE QUADRATEC PLANE AND SIMPLE ALWAYS VERY HELPFUL
What’s the difference between the vinyl and the canvas... which one are you installing and will it make a difference which one I get... I am not sure if my Sahara is a dual... what happens if it isn’t included. 😓🤦🏻♀️ i bought a used 2020
I just followed these instructions but the top is about 1 inch short to latch up front. Therefore I unsecured the back and locked the latches and then pulled it back and secured the nuts. My thought was the canvas is tight and needs to stretch. Any other ideas? Thanks.
Is there a list of all the parts that are in the kit? I just started to do mine and I am missing the rear brackets and the plates that go on the support bar. Are there T50 bolts that come with the soft top or are you using the bolts that were used to keep the hard top on? ( I didn't have any T50 Bolts in the box)
The JK's used to come with the soft top installed and the hard top installed over it from factory. I live on east coast and will fly out to west coast to buy my JLU from a friend's dealership. I'll need the "trunk space" for the ride home across country for camping gear. Does anyone know if I can get to the dealership, take off the hard top, install the soft top, then reinstall the hardtop so that I can fit my gear in the back? Once I get home I'll take everything off again and set it right, but space will be a premium for the ride home. The only reason I'm planning to do that is because it seems that if I order the Jeep with the dual top group, it's about $3k, but if I order it with just hard or just soft, then order the other at a later time, it's almost twice the cost. seems like you get a deal for ordering both from factory.
Maybe tell folks up front…fabric doesn’t stretch right out box from factory…let us know that we are not crazy when it does fit etc and it needs to be warmed up first
I have this soft top with my 19 JL that i just got with the dual top group. With that said. Can the soft top make it through a car wash? Love having a clean vehicle. Just no time to wash it hand. Thank you.
Am I missing something? This top seems to be a pain compared to the hard top with the only advantage being a slightly bigger opening on the top when pulled back.
There are so few videos about COMPLETELY removing the soft top. So I did your installation in reverse. Thank you!
Omg thank you so much for this video! I didn’t even need to look at the directions inside of the box! I was able to install my softop is less than an hour and I’m glad I didn’t pay to have someone else do it. You guys rock’
You're welcome!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I have been freaking out at the thought of getting this installed!! This video makes it easy!! Now I need the weather to cooperate!
Not a problem! glad we could help, it's a pretty simple install just take your time with it.
I am glad I watched this video. It was stupid to even keep a video that was wrong on RUclips. So becareful and use this video. Your video is excellent.
I was lost when I opened the soft top box until I watch Rob put this together, within 30 minutes I had it installed. Great job with this tutorial
Thanks for the video! This is a great service to the Jeep community.
Just removed hardtop and installed soft top following along with these videos! Made it very easy. Thank you!
Nice work! Glad the video helped!
You saved me at least an hour reading directions......thank you.
Thanks for the instructions, we bought dual top and your instructions made it very easy for me and my wife to install it. Great video and instructions!! Bravo keep them coming.
Our pleasure!
We were able to install my soft top because of your video. I couldn’t thank you enough!
My JLUR came with a soft top installed, and this video taught me how to completely remove it. Thanks!
Holy crap! This made the process so much easier!
I am glad you made this video. when I got my dual tops there were no instructions in the box and I have been trying to figure out how this was going to work.
me to
How was it installing yourself?
Great instructions! Easy to follow and camera angles were on point! Awesome job!
I’m patiently waiting for this top to be in stock. I literally check your site daily.
If you get your order in during the preorder, it will ship as soon as it comes in, and we don't charge your card until it ships.
How much is this top, and is this the only top available for the new jl?
Quadrate
Quadratec why did the pre order date change from April to June 15.
Super helpful video, I used it as a guide to install my soft top on my JL. Thank you Rob and Quadratec
Thank you, couldn't have done without your video

You crushed it with this video, Rob! Thank you. I was able to install my new soft top in 25 minutes. Made my Saturday! Thanks again.
Awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to show the correct way to do this.
No problem 👍

Awesome! You should receive funding from FCA for all of the great instructional videos you provide. :-)
Great video. Thank you for explaining the small details too!
So cool Quadratec gets Jim from The Office to do all their install videos :D
I like the new JL top the JK was a pain in the butt
Thanks bro we were stuck on this for like 20 minutes
Glad we could help!
Very informative and calming instructions! Followed you frame by frame and installed my soft top today. Thanks a ton 🤗👍
The rear window appears a bit short and did not fit in properly, probably because of cold weather. Will try stretching it after being in the sun. Any advice is welcome 🙏
Did you get anything figured out? I’m having the same problem
The first time installing is the hardest. Everything is new and tight. I had the same issues with the vinyl and twill soft tops. It'll loosen up if you keep trying.
Installed mine , just following this video. Thanks!!
could you do a video for the 2 door soft top?
Cheated - used your video for help installing a BNIB twill MOPAR top I snagged off of CL! Thanks for the great vid!
That’s not cheating, that’s exactly what this video is for!
Wow, that’s so much work and parts! Isn’t there aftermarket better and faster options?
GREAT video! Thank you! Never would have figured out how to install it without your video. Install was not intuitive or anything like the JK. Thank you!!
What is the sound difference like driving with the new soft top compared to the hard top?
Thanks so much for this video. I just put on my soft top for the first time.

Thank you so much. Did this by myself in 95 degree weather (I don’t recommend). Thank you for your video
This video made the install so simple. Thanks for this video!
Ordered mine through you. Says it ships 20th. Hope it’s on track.

Paul Diehm rhanks so basically what ever you put on comes

Could you guys do a up close comparison between the two top materials?
what is the piece u are holding at the 2:49 min mark? i believe im missing those and need to buy them
Soft top best top
Are there any videos showing how to swap the factory base soft top with a new Mopar Twill Soft Top? it didn't come with any instructions and i can't find any videos.
But can I leave the plastic components of the Soft top mounted to reassemble the hard top? Or do we have to dismantle them again?

I totally agree...That's one of the main things that is keeping me away from pulling the trigger on that Jeep...

When it's time to put the hard top back on for winter, do you have to take off all of the hardware that was tightened to the roll bars etc.? Thanks.
Followed this today. 2/25/24. Really wish you showed the bolts up close, cause it took a long time to figure out the ratchet head you were mentioning.
Really helped me install mine. Thanks!
Do you have a video of putting the hard top on over the soft top fixtures?! Everything I’ve read, except for this video, states that you have to remove all of the soft top hardware before putting on the hard top ?!

Where can I buy bolts for the mopar soft top. I need the long bolts that go into the front door bars from the bottom to the top and the bolts that hold the top on the brackets.
Great Video! you saved me hours of frustration, Thank You!
Can this be installed on a sky one touch car? Once that roof is removed
My passenger side back window flew off on the interstate, scared the Bleep out of me . Is this a common problem? Is there a way to fix that problem?
thank you! we purchased the dual top group for my jeep but the box we received in the car did not contain half of the parts yours did😩going to use your video when we figure out the parts situation!

Are the brackets for the roll bar the same for 2 door ? Thanks
To put the hard top back on, do you pretty much have to remove everything related to the soft top sans the pivot bracket on the rear cage bars?
Have you come across a tip that the canvass on the top rear corner was not “stretched” all of the way? My top from factory came with pin holes in it and the Jeep dealership replaced it. Thanks followed the video and mine installed easily Thanks for the help
Can you get this soft top on all new JL model with hard top?
I followed the whole thing and got stuck trying to lock the top to the front . It’s seems like the latches won’t match up and the top is two short from the factory .
Having problem unlocking one side? Any suggestion?
Thank you for the help it made it so easy today
It’s like Rob has a smaller clone just waiting to show up and help.
Received two hook and loop straps and two elastic hoops with my soft top. The elastic hoops had a snap button on them. Where/when are these four items used?
Thank you for Video. Do you have to take the whole thing back apart to install the hard top again?
Thank you guys for doing this video.

If I’m starting completely from the beginning with the parts out of the box, roughly how long do you think it will take to finish?
What’s the difference between the vinyl and the canvas... which one are you installing and will it make a difference which one I get... I am not sure if my Sahara is a dual... what happens if it isn’t included. 😓🤦🏻♀️ i bought a used 2020
I have a hard top 2023 Jl 392 will this soft fit in it?
Thank you for this video!...May long weekend...tarps off!
I just followed these instructions but the top is about 1 inch short to latch up front. Therefore I unsecured the back and locked the latches and then pulled it back and secured the nuts. My thought was the canvas is tight and needs to stretch. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Hi could you please answer if possible:- the Jeep comes with mopar soft top … that soft top is twill or the vinyl fabric by factory
the factory offers both materials for soft tops depending on your option package.
@@Quadratec thank you so much for reply 😊🥰
Thank so much
The JK's used to come with the soft top installed and the hard top installed over it from factory.
Maybe tell folks up front…fabric doesn’t stretch right out box from factory…let us know that we are not crazy when it does fit etc and it needs to be warmed up first
Does the 2018 soft top fit on the 2021 model?
Thank you
When is the jk version available?
I have this soft top with my 19 JL that i just got with the dual top group. With that said. Can the soft top make it through a car wash? Love having a clean vehicle. Just no time to wash it hand. Thank you.
I just took mine through after mudding last weekend. Sounds like you're inside a tornado! It's terrifying but it came out without leaks or anything!
Just ordered this top for my JL and was wondering if I can still go through a automatic car wash with this soft top?
You can, but the brushes will scuff your windows. Stick with a brushless carwash and you wil OK.
Am I missing something? This top seems to be a pain compared to the hard top with the only advantage being a slightly bigger opening on the top when pulled back.
Would this one, the soft top installed in this video, be considered a twill or a sailcloth?
Interested in this as well. Thou, if I had to guess, this would be the more expensive top.
This one is the twill top.
You've done an awesome job on this and it helped me greatly this weekend!! Thanks
I have a gap at the back of both windows where they meet the trunk window?
