I’ve been trying to decide on a brand for a lift to my JT, I’m an late 80s 4x4 guy and have been a Rancho fan, but now I can’t decide and seeing all these other brands that are so pricey and wonder how Rancho kits are so much cheaper…
Sir, you are helping me tremendously! Between you & a few other RUclipsrs that work on Jeeps, I am surprising myself & becoming much more comfortable working on both my older & newer Jeeps...saving me lots of money & learning very valuable lessons. I'm not saying it's for the faint at heart. The ball joints change along with 1 ton steering was a much bigger feat than I thought, BUT I eventually figured it all out & now can take my front end apart & put it back together very quickly. I surprise my wife now with how much faster & efficient I have become working on each of my Jeeps. Thank you for these videos. I would love to meet y'all some day. You have a very patient wife as your videographer. Y'all work great together. Thank y'all both.
The idea of installing a lift kit on my own driveway has always overwhelmed me. This video gave me the confidence and the boost to do it on my own (with a help from my brother of course). I feel much better to use this video as a guide to get the job done. Thank you Wayalife!
Probably the best how-to video I’ve ever seen. Each step was explained clearly and you provided plenty of tips and tricks to make the installation go smoothly. Thanks so much for publishing videos like this and for giving average Joes the confidence to tackle this kind of project.
Why isn't this the top Jeep channel on RUclips? There's a lot of channels with guys that do the same thing, but the video quality is nowhere near this good. Everything is clear, everything is clean so it's easy to see what is going on, even if it's a tiny fastener. Lots of props to the camera operator and editor. And I really like that this channel doesn't shill for a brand that looks good on the gram. Just shows how to do it.
The extra steps you took to show how to adjust the parking brake, went above and beyond. I have a 1:10 scale gladiator, I don’t even have a Jeep but watched the entire show 😂😂 awesome job sir!
Happy to hear you could appreciate what we were doing with this video. Can't tell you how many people gave me grief for not installing the brand they chose to buy LOL

I LOVE these "how to" videos. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pippi series and still go back and watch them now and then. The way you make all of this look so easy give guys like me the confidence that I might actually be able to pull a project like this off myself. I'm also a HUGE fan of the fact that you try to get products made in the USA and also that you don't just get the biggest, baddest, most expensive stuff you can find. You keep it accessible for those of us who don't have tens of thousands of dollars to spend on all of this.
@@wayalife lol well, I DO actually need a Jeep first. I've wanted one my whole life and just never did the thing. I always let something, or someONE stop me. This time I'm just gonna go for it...after prices come down a little.

Always the best "DIY" videos as evidenced by this one. When I put my lift on my JT and was fighting to get the springs in I wish I'd known the great tip about using the jack to get the opposite side to full droop. Can't wait to use it when I help wrench on another Jeep.
Thank you so much for this video. I just got done with mine and the tip to get the axle to drop further was a lifesaver installing my 3.5 inch springs. The final help was centering the steering well. Just took about 15 minutes with a drive in between.
Great tutorial Eddy, seeing you go through this step by step has made me more that I can do this myself. I am very handy with a lot of different things but was hesitant about this project but after your excellent guidance I’m going to do this myself. Thanks again for all you great videos.
I about spit out my breakfast when Ripley dropped in at 13:53 :D Great video Eddie, and I completely agree. My wife and I recently put an AEV 2" spacer lift on my Mojave, and it was one of the most eye-opening experiences of our entire Jeep ownership. Especially if you don't have a full garage of tools, you'll learn so much about working on vehicles in general that so many of the things you thought sounded so intimidating before are actually not that bad at all. Prior to doing our lift, I was scared shitless at the thought of drooping my axle past where the CAs normally hold it. LIKE, WHAT IF BOTH JACKSTANDS FAIL AND THE FLOOR JACK FAILS AND THE AXLE HITS THE GROUND!? WHAT DO I DO!? But, as was clearly stated in this video - it's really not that hard if you just take your time, buy the right tools, and ask for help if you need it.
LOL - glad you enjoyed seeing Ripley and good for you and your wife for getting in there and working on your own Jeep. I'm truly happy for the two of you 👍
Eddie , i dont have a JL , and my jeep is already lifted , but you just have the most thorough and comprehensive DIY videos that are so much fun to watch. Thank you for the great entertainment 👍
Best installation video EVER!! Thank you so much!! My lift kit arrives today and I will be watching this a couple more times and during install. You have a new subscriber.
@@wayalife Just wanted to say thanks again. I got my 2" lift installed on my Gladiator this weekend, using this video, your video on the Gladiator rear lift, and referencing the manufacturers instructions for control arm length. When I finished, it was toed in so bad I could actually see it clearly. I found another video you did on a DIY alignment, so I followed it. Took it for a drive and it drives straight and true. I will still get a professional alignment, but it drives perfect. Went all the way to 80 mph and no death wobble. Drives and rides just like it did before, but with less lean in the curves and corners. Thanks again for such great content!!!
Your channel is my go to for my JT upgrades and installs. Thanks for sharing. Too funny how the pup jumped under to watch you and make sure its done right.
Wow! This video is just what I needed. I have to do this to my JK and I kept thinking that with a little bit of help I could tackle this in my garage; this just proved it can be done. I know, I know, a 09 JK is nowhere near your 392, but the video is a very good general idea of what can be expected when I do it (+ or - a few details). Thanks, Eddie and Cindy for another great production!!!
Oh yeah, you can totally do it and in some ways, it's even easier on a JK being that the torque specs are lower on things like the control arms and the rubber isolators are not indexed. Otherwise, the steps are pretty much the same.
Great video Eddie and Cindy! We just bought a ‘23 JLU Freedom edition in High Velocity to accompany our ‘20 Gladiator. We may tackle the lift ourselves using this video as our guide. Love these type of videos. Please keep them coming!!
You make the install look easy. I’ll end up breaking or stripping something. Not trying at home, but after watching you, I’m officially a great arm chair quarterback.
Thanks brother, I love the way you make DIY not intimidating. I got into jeeping after watching a few of your videos with the stock sport and since I have done all kinds of goodies to my jeep including a fully adjustable lift, oils, sliders, steps, exhaust, intake and you name it right in my garage. I would never have tackled that had I not ran into your videos. I really appreciate your content and I love the editing, it's amazing. Cheers.
Man you’re so good at this, the instructions and communication is clear and precise. I don’t own a Jeep but when I do, I’m coming back to this video. Subbed!
I had my 2021 Wrangler EcoDiesel lifted in December but I really enjoyed your video on how it was done. Great explanations and great video. By the way, I was driving my Jeep in April when a semi decided he needed my space. The trailer hit my right rear tire and wheel and destroyed them both. It also hit the right front tire and wheel and gouged both badly enough that they needed to be replaced. There was some minor ($4000 worth) of body damage just in front of the right rear tire and the fender flares were also impacted. The Jeep was not knocked out alignment but the steering wheel was not centered and the traction control warning light came on. The guys that lifted my Jeep straightened it up in a short amount of time. Now I know how they did it. I hope I never have to use that knowledge but thank you for a great job of teaching me how to do it.
Based on what I'm hearing from you, the fact that your steering wheel was off after the hit, tells me that your drag link is most likely bent a bit. That is, assuming that your alignment was in fact still on would tell me that your tie-rod is okay and probably your track bar as well. Might want to have that checked.
I can already tell this video will be a huuuuge success. Wayalife makes the absolute best videos on YT, and now this lengthy gem of a video. Cant wait to watch the entire video later tonight!!! Thank you!!!
Excellent video! I'm getting ready to do my own 3 inch lift for the first time on my 21 gladiator rubicon. And this will most definitely be my guide. Thanks again
I'm working on my 07 jk I just bought those front lower control arms, my shocks & coils are all rancho... this video is very helpful! Thank you so much! Invaluable information!
Glad to hear our video is helpful to you. Please note that the torque settings I provide are for a JL. A JK is a little different and you can find specs for them here: project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-ups/jeep-jk-wrangler-torque-settings
I enjoyed watching this video despite having already lifted mine (with the aid of your previous videos). I picked up some new tips on this video that I wish I’d known when I did mine. You three make the best videos, thanks! Looking forward to a review on those Rancho shocks too. 😉
Your content and attitude are both superb! Very happy to have found your channel, especially since I’m about to undertake a lift install on my 392 here soon on my own! Thanks for doing what you do brother! Also, just outta curiosity we’re you ever in the military? Take care!
Truly humbled that you would say as much and glad to hear you're enjoying our videos. Also, I have not served in the military. Hope this video is helpful with your install.
@@wayalifeI do have a question, I’ve also got a 392 and I cannot find the Rancho lift kit for it. Which one did you install, how much was it and where can I find it? Sorry to bug you with these questions but I really searched and found nothing lol.
@@jf5553 It's all good. I talked to Rancho about this and they recommended that I get their kit made for a diesel due to the heavier engine. Most vendors carry it.
Another great video. This is one of the best jeep channels on youtube, if you want to learn how to work on your jeep, everything is explained from beginning to end, every bolt nut if you never worked on your jeep before you will after watching wayalife's videos guaranteed, it's like going to mechanic school for free.
We are truly humbled that you would say as much and very happy to know that you find our videos to be educational. Helping others help themselves is the only thing we hope to do with them 😎
As always excellent work Eddie. Wow! I really like those Rancho lower spring perch pads/isolators over the stock pads. At 28:15 I fought with those upper spring isolator pads, they kept falling down and I could not line them up properly. I ended up using a few small strips of 3M tape to hold them in place, it was a big help for me. Great job, nice set up for your 392!
"Not made in China." Eddie, that's just one reason why I love you and your channel. Where we spend our money matters, and although it may be at times challenging, the extra effort is worth it, and helps support those brands who take our national security seriously. Can't wait to see you on the trails!
I missed your do it yourself videos. I have 2021 JLU Extreme Recon looking to install 3.5 lift . You are so detail on every step of any install. hope you and Cindy start making new videos again
We apologize for being missing in action when it comes to installs. They take a tremendous amount of time and effort to make and we've had a lot going on. Hope to get more of these out though.
On your recommendation I ordered my rancho 2in lift instead of the dynatrac for my jl and I couldn’t be happier. Debating on getting their track bars and arms next to complete the lift too.
Still liking my 2 inch Dynatrac lift on my 21 JL rubicon 2 door (got me a bit over 2.5 inches) Added the synergy tie-rod and drag link and tightened things up nice.
First - what is the yellow JK? Also great video. Gives me a lot of confidence and knowledge I might have been missing. Love the zero sponsor ship / not the same video every Jeep channel is doing. Looks like a great kit and way better from the older stuff. What specific kit so I can look up cost? Thanks guys! Keep’em coming!
LOL - the yellow JK belongs to a good friend who lives back east. We're storing it for him as he's planning to come out this summer and do some wheeling with us. As far as the video goes, we're so happy to hear it's been educational for you and that it's helped to give you confidence to work on your own Jeep. That is the only thing we hope to do with videos like this. 😎

Eddie you and your wife make great builders guides. And the production is easy to watch. 🗽🇺🇸🥃
We're truly humbled that you would say as much, thank you.
WELL DONE SIR you are by far THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER SEEN ALL OF MY RESPECT TO YOU WOW YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF THAT
Truly humbled that you would say as much. I really do appreciate it.
You make the install look easy. I’ll end up breaking or stripping something. Not trying at home, but after watching you, I’m officially a great arm chair quarterback.
LOL
Thanks brother, I love the way you make DIY not intimidating. I got into jeeping after watching a few of your videos with the stock sport and since I have done all kinds of goodies to my jeep including a fully adjustable lift, oils, sliders, steps, exhaust, intake and you name it right in my garage. I would never have tackled that had I not ran into your videos. I really appreciate your content and I love the editing, it's amazing. Cheers.
That is awesome and we're so glad to hear you've taken on the task of working on your own Jeep! Congratulations to you.
Thank you so much for this video! The first and only video I’ve come across that actually explains everything in detail down to the drag link.
Happy to hear you found our video to be informative and useful.
Man you’re so good at this, the instructions and communication is clear and precise. I don’t own a Jeep but when I do, I’m coming back to this video. Subbed!
Truly humbled that you would say as much, thank you.
@@wayalife Thank you. I will check it.
As always , super informative and great detail with close ups and fantastic descriptive narration. Brilliant guys.
Happy to hear you enjoyed our video 😎
Eddie your install videos are the absolute best. Thanks !!
Truly humbled to hear you say as much, thank you.
Eddie, I’ve watched you do so many of these install videos. Never gets old. And fantastic explanation, tools, unboxing, and tips. ⚔️❤️🇺🇸
Truly humbled that you would say as much and happy to hear you enjoy our videos.
You and Cindy make the best DIY videos. Always entertaining and informative. Keep up the great work! 😎👍
We're truly humbled that you would say as much and happy to know that our videos are entertaining and informative for you.
I can already tell this video will be a huuuuge success. Wayalife makes the absolute best videos on YT, and now this lengthy gem of a video. Cant wait to watch the entire video later tonight!!! Thank you!!!
Truly humbled that you would say as much and hope you find this video to be thorough and informative.
@@wayalife Absolutely, we can learn a lot from channels like yours/you. Thanks for all the hard work.
Best instructional video. Thank you for all your time making it so well. My install was flawless. Cheers
Truly humbled that you would say as much and glad to know it was helpful to you.
Best video ever to inspire me to do a lift myself and acquire some tools. Outstanding!
Awesome! You can do this!! 👍
Excellent video! I'm getting ready to do my own 3 inch lift for the first time on my 21 gladiator rubicon. And this will most definitely be my guide. Thanks again
Awesome! Glad we could be of help with our video 👍
Thank you so much for the install vid, going to do my 392 in he next couple weeks- and ur vid will be at the ready….
Awesome! Glad our video will be helpful to you.
Thank you for the informative and thorough video! Attention to details were/are second to none!!
Glad you enjoyed it and found it to be informative.
Awesome video bro, I just ordered my new gladiator, and this is the first thing I'm going to do when I get it in my shop. Thanks!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed our video and congratulations to you!
The best videos out there for Jeep installs. Keep up the good work!!!
We're humbled that you would say as much, thank you.
Excellent video. So hard to find a complete lift install video. Great job. Love this channel.
Happy to hear you found our video and channel to be informative 😎
Just love your DIY videos, step by step, not many of those out there. Thank you.
We're so happy to hear you find them to be educational 😎
Great DIY video! Like others have commented I’ve missed your detailed “how-to-videos”!
Happy to hear you enjoy them.
Great video! Thank you! You gave me the confidence to try it on my own!
Awesome! You can do it!
Super happy I’ve paid someone to do this
LOL - it's a lot of work but I guarantee you, you could have done it 👍
I enjoyed watching this video despite having already lifted mine (with the aid of your previous videos). I picked up some new tips on this video that I wish I’d known when I did mine. You three make the best videos, thanks! Looking forward to a review on those Rancho shocks too. 😉
That's awesome and glad to hear you not only enjoyed the video in spite not needing it but that you also were able to pick up some new tips as well. 😊
@@wayalife was only asking because a guy I served with in the corps could be your twin lol. Anyways, keep putting out awesome content!
@@jf5553 LOL - that is not the first time I've heard that. Really glad to know that you enjoy our videos.
Glad you enjoyed our video 😎
"Not made in China."
Eddie, that's just one reason why I love you and your channel. Where we spend our money matters, and although it may be at times challenging, the extra effort is worth it, and helps support those brands who take our national security seriously. Can't wait to see you on the trails!
Happy to hear you feel the same and we totally agree.
Perfect lift for a the average weekend warrior i love it
Me personally, I think so. Glad you enjoyed the video 😎
I'm quite impressed with this RANCHO kit👍👍
I think it's a lot nicer than a lot of people think or give it credit for.
I also love the asmr style of audio on key features.
Great content! I saved this for future reference if needed. Thorough and honest advice. Thank you! Man that start up really gives me that V8 itch!
LOL - hard not to want a V8! Glad you found our video to be worthy of saving for future reference 😎
You make this look so easy... Getting ready to do this on my 2012 JK we are putting on a 2.5 lift
If you follow the instructions on this video, the install will be easy for you as well 😎
I know what you know 😎. Maybe not everything. But now I know this. Thanks 👍 for sharing this with us 👍 🇺🇸.
Happy to hear you found this video to be educational 😎
Kudos to you for wanting the products you use to be Made primarily in the US or with Countries that are in fact allies.
Happy to hear you also appreciate made in the USA whenever possible and at the very least, made in countries that are in fact, allies.
Eddie, thanks for such great videos. You make great instructional videos that anybody can follow.
I appreciate you saying as much and glad you find our videos to be enjoyable to watch 😎
So much attention to detail in this video 👌🏽💯
Happy to hear you found our video to be detailed and informative.
great refresher! I'm about to uninstall my JK lift to freshen it up after 10 years of use. 👍👍
Awesome! Glad this video will be of help to you :)
On your recommendation I ordered my rancho 2in lift instead of the dynatrac for my jl and I couldn’t be happier. Debating on getting their track bars and arms next to complete the lift too.
I'm happy to hear that you're happy with your decision to install a Rancho lift.
Still liking my 2 inch Dynatrac lift on my 21 JL rubicon 2 door (got me a bit over 2.5 inches)
Added the synergy tie-rod and drag link and tightened things up nice.
Glad to hear it 👍
First - what is the yellow JK?
Also, the lift kit in question is this amzn.to/3Nd0z8B and running it with the RS7MT shocks.
Thank you for the best wrangler suspension video!
We are truly humbled that you would say as much, thank you.
This video was very helpful, and in terms most people can understand
Happy to hear you found our video to be informative and understandable 👍
