My heart saying: Rubicon My pocket says : Sport
Nothing wrong with getting a Sport and building it up yourself! -Zach
Same lmaoo
That lack of separation between the fender flares and the front bumper makes me nauseous...
This is North MURICA, not Europe.
No lie 😩
Im in SoCal and leased a wrangler sport. Surprised that it came with alot of nice interior stuff, but........this particular soft top V6 with 6 speed manual trans didn't come standard with A.C. That didn't bother me cause its not really my daily driver and Will run around with the top down in warm weather.
For someone that doesn't know much about vehicles & couldn't tell the difference between the 3....this video seriously helped me! Also, I've made up my mind on which to get when ready to purchase so, Thank You!
Timmesha Carter which are you getting? And why?
I’m still debating which to get
Which did u get
@@dexterrr9163 ok thanks 👍
We must know what you chose
What did you get?
My brother bought the Rubicon and took me around town...I effing loved it!!! Now I wish I could afford that. Don't want anything less. Lol
Shaun Morin one day you will get it best of luck
I just got the 2019 Rubi and I’m so in love with it. What color did he get?
The sahara suspension is for fast driving off-road not rock crawling like the rubicon
I bought the Sport S 2 door 2019 for 33k . My son bought the 4 door Rubicon 2018 for 39k . The only difference to me is the repair cost if you are a " rock crawler " the Rubicon costs more for it has more " Bells and Whistles". But if you are like me a sportsman/ outdoorsman and also use it as a daily driver the Sport S is way better all around.
The differences are enormous. Dana 44s, heavier transfer case, lockers, 4.10 gears, sway bar disconnect. Far better off road and far less likely to break.
@@dr.michaelbennett8597 I have a JKU Sport upgraded with 35 inch MT’s, 17 inch wheels, and a 3 1/2 inch Teraflex lift. But I am running stock axles (D30 up front and 44 in rear) with no front/rear lockers or a swaybar disconnect. No, I’m not doing severe rated trails in Moab, but I wheel all the time in moderate/hard trails quite often and I’ve never had an issue with anything breaking or getting through technical off-road obstacles. Maybe I have been lucky but running 35’s on the Dana 30 in open diff has worked fine for me.
I agree about the music. It seems like the producers want the music to compete with the narrator. It is just annoying. Otherwise, good vid.
Sahara for me, thanks, I just want the comfort, the space, the manly look that I don't get with Sedans and to be able to make use of the 4x4 and safety features for simple trips, nothing too demanding that requires a Rubicon; I am not going to be climbing trees or crossing the amazon any time soon, no need to spend money in features I am not going to use.
This was an amazing detailed review! Honestly ive watched many videos trying to figure out the difference between each car & was confused if they fall all under the same car but different trim levels or if they were different cars seperated by years (idk if that makes sense) but this video explained everything
Thankyou so much , i have subscribed
Nicely done video Ryan. Congrats to all the new JL owners out there. Older JK guy here (2014 sport s). Stay safe on the trails.
being from the southern USA and seeing you standing outside in that blazing sunlight without you being soaked in sweat was like a feature in this video. the windows were down the entire time in every vehicle too without you having to rub any heat off with a towel or something. that's awesome.
I own a Rubicon, been driving jeeps since the CJ days and this JLU Rubicon is not only worth every penny but it is a piece of art.
I actually learned something! Nice explanations!
Holy wow! This is the type of video I’ve been looking for. Thank you. Thank you so much this. Definitely so informational
We're super glad to hear its helpful! -Zach
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you very much.
Rubicon is my dream off-road Jeep.
I love my 2018 Jeep!! It’s videos like this that inspired me to make my own channel!
Sting ray sahara with rubicon wheels and tires. Love it.
The Sahara would be such a nice daily forsure. I really wish i could afford the Rubicon though😍
What about moab edition
John Mcclane fuck moab
Thank you for the video, very informative!
Excellent video on the different trim packages does help me decide what trim level to buy.
I’m still driving a 2003 TJ. These new jeeps seem like they are just a totally better class in every way, far more refined than previous models. (Can’t knock the ole TJs though. )
Thanks for breaking it down for us! I never knew all the differences
#Sahara for me! Loving mine. Can't wait to upgrade larger tires.
How has it been? Been 2 years now
@@Antelopesinsideme I sold it a year ago. It was fun when I had it. Never took it off roading, even after I upgraded the wheels and tires.
@@ernestsmall6175 interesting, why sell it? Especially after investing more money
@@Antelopesinsideme COVID hit, lost my job and it was just sitting in the garage. I was able to sell it for a profit.
@@ernestsmall6175 oh I'm so sorry, I hope you're doing okay
My heart is saying Rubicon but my pocket is saying Sahara 😩😂👏🏽 Good job on this review
Great explanation!
New to the channel, excellent video! Subscribed 👍
Ryan this is the best reviews I have seen on jeep! Really let me know the difference, I'm really thinking about getting one in the future!!!
Thanks a bunch for watching! -Zach
I currently have a 2018 JL rubicon 2 door on order right now. I compare it to the Sahara and found the 2 door to be the best value. I'm just anxiously waiting for it to arrive.
looking into buying one, people keep telling me get a 4 door, looks better, what you think?
@@JimyOfficial 2 door if you're more inclined to do off roading and what not and 4 door if you're looking to use more so as a DD and maybe light trails.
@@JimyOfficial 4 door looks like family man station wagon to me..weighs 500 lbs more than two door and doesn't handle as well off road...
From Victoria BC.
I have a 2017 JKU Willys. First Jeep ever for me, always wanted one and now Im loving it totally. I am sure if I had any of the other models I would say the same.
Thanks for the updates and vids.
Ciao
I saw the JEEP logo, gotta clap for that, JEEP/Fiat is breaking new ground, amazing, in the end it’s all about family. Jeeps sports, Sahara, rubicons and now gladiators!!!!! I know what those are amazing!!!! I love jeeps I love the Italian fiats, but them together and it’s amazing, best combo ever, now Mario can drive this, Italian Plummer’s now can be proud.
I have an 08 Sahara 4d I special ordered with all the options available at that time. the last yr they offered life time power train and It only has 60k miles. I love it. But I must say I do like what jeep has done with the new Sahara.
Great review. Thanks
What a amazing video!
I wanna drive Jeep which is anything!
I purchased my JLU sport about 2 months ago with manual windows and no power locks, but I have the hard top, side steps, Sahara wheels with all terrains, not sure if just the dealership but I was able to get other options as well if I wanted
I got the JLU Sahara and I love it. Leather and cold weather package are awesome. It’s mostly a mall crawler (which I’m not ashamed of at all) except for the times I’ll take it out camping or down the logging roads to have a bit of fun. I had a basic 07 JKU Sahara before this and trashed it, so this is a nice luxury upgrade for me! Putting on the 35” tires this week will give it a nice look!
Natasha Brenner I need to know the girl in your icons Instagram because she is fuccin gorgeous lol
Is it good in the mountains like an awd suv?

Kiran Prathap kizhakke mullaseri Dude you're a fuckin' loser straight up just stop it. What makes you think she's just gonna start messaging you on WhatsApp?? Im Indian and am completely embarrassed to be considered Indian because of all of you fucking weirdos in India commenting on girls pictures asking for their WhatsApp. Please just stop. JUST STOP it already. Have some sense of self awareness, no girl is gonna go out of her way to talk to you right off the bat. Look at your name for god sakes, Kiran Prathap kizhakke mullaseri sounds like you're an old fat Indian virgin trying to get girls over the internet cause you can't get any in real life. NATEmeetsWORLD Jesus that even hurt me and I’m white
super helpful, thanks Extreme Terrain!!
Hey thanks, Evan! -Zach
Very informative video. The Sahara looks like my cup of tea.
The Sahara is definitely a sharp ride! Thanks for watching! -Zach
The red dashboard is an option for the rubicon if you change the color of the seats to the light tan the dash board will be dark gray
I just got a Sahara myself... yeah! I saw this vid a few months ago n it really helped me a lot in choosing my sahara. Thank u for such a great video!
We're happy it helped! Thanks for watching and your comment! -Zach
What mileage figures you getting?
@@romeetsingh3788 I wanna say roughly 22 but it varies with the on n off engine feature. I'm glad I didn't get the turbo package model cuz then the fuel consumption wld have been worse.
@@fulmetalraven1 Your one with 2.0 litre engine?
Do u have rear lock or it is not possible on sahara?
Excellent detailed video. Thanks 🤙🏼

Helpful! Thanks.
Awesome video well explained probably go with the Sahara 😎
I test drove a new rubicon yesterday. Lets just say I might have an order on the way!
guess not...haha.
Awesome Dave I actually did, just ended up buying something else lol
I bought a 2019 Wrangler Sport S with the upgraded entertainment package. I had a few things high on my want list like a standard transmission and a funky color, and I ended up finding one in the Mojito (metallic green) color which I think is one of the best Jeep colors ever. It's pretty awesome so far.
How much?
is it still awesome? lol how many miles on it
I went with the Sport S black with soft top. Fits me good here in Cali
Same as mine but Red, at Seattle.
At the end of the day they’re all Jeeps ! No need to spend thousands on a Rubi to not rock climb ! 👍
sports s charcoal soft top. we love it..
@@rudycastro9814 yep
I got the 2 door Rubicon. Granite Crystal is the color. I'm just glad to be back in a 2 door.
I heard a guy say only two doors are Jeeps...lol
I have a '16 Weangler Sahara Unlimited with the body colored top and fenders. Red. And i like how mije still looks somewhat like the older ones, without being old. Its gonna be for my son when he starts driving. I use freeway alot so it has 40k miles
Thank You for this video I've personally always wanted to know what you get in these packages, now I know exactly what I want. Thank You and have a Blessed day everyone
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Thanks for the over view. I drive a number of Sports and Sahara for the rental car company I work for but the details on the various models is much appreciated.
We're happy it helped you out! Thanks for watching! -Zach
I’m going to get the Rubicon in Sting Gray!
2017 Rubicon for me - absolutely love it. No red dashboard, no auto stop/restart!! Thanks for the detailed comparison of the 4 packages for 2018.

I love my sport! I lifted it, got 35” tires and great rims. Planning to get more cool fenders and bumper. I mean if you are going to costumize it and don’t care about the power windows and leather sits, it would be good if you get the sport.
I have a base model Sport and I agree! I do miss having power windows, but if it doesn't bother you and you plan on upgrading parts anyway its a good way to save some money! -Zach
This video is extremely helpful
We're glad it helped out, Paul! Thanks for watching! -Zach
First time I get everything in one video to explain the trims
Finally a video that talks about the difference between the Rubicon, Sport, and Sahara models.

@@extremeterrain Keep the great work! I Will Make sure to stay tuned for more 🙂
Sport s with winter group best bang for the buck ..here in canada the sport start at 34.550 $ its may be just me but paying 60000$ for putting that in mud and rock made me sick 😉 btw nice videos buddy
Wow, that's nice!
The prices for the european (german) market are kinda insane. Okay, there's the 10% tax on top but anyway. The Sport S won't be available. :(
Dang right bro! 4 door here. Cold air package, hard/soft, alpine upgrade and much more 44,000
I wish you can reply after 2 years but i'm moving to montreal soon and need the sport, does it comes automatic??
@@nicsmjs7170 yes all trim come automatic
I will say the jeep looks so much better with a lift and a set of 35s
Todd Reeder if you’re white
StepzYT 🤣
StepzYT his pfp 💀
@G if you want to make it look cool you need to lift that sucker
I agree, and I’m not white lol stepzyt 🙄 I have 35s with mopar loft kit. Looks bad ass.
I got a 2019 rubi with the top package, expensive but so very worth it
The Rubicon models definitely are mean! -Zach
Useful video.
Excellent info.. Thank you
Thanks for watching, Richard! -Zach
I have always loved the Wrangler and j can swear good by them and now that I have one it is so hard to find any good close trails up here in Maine well cause I don't know much up here I am from CT
Great Movie, you should make one that compare Sport, Sport S, Sahara and Rubicon in value loss after lets say 1year, 3 years, 5 years and 100 000 Km. Is the Rubicon going to last better in value than the Sahara and sport?
Great information, truly appreciate it.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the sport s trim does also have the option to color match the fenders? I recently rented a JL and I believe it was the sport S as it had paint matched fenders, along with paint matched hard top, and lots of leather in the interior. I’d say it was pretty loaded out, but it wasn’t a Sahara.
I'm about to get my first car and I was interested in the jeep so this video helped thank you
Thanks for watching! -Zach
I was hoping for a look under. The Sahara is supposed to have improved cooling and a couple skid plates, where the Rubicon has full set of skid plates and...?This did help allot though.TY.
Just got a SAHARA in friday, love this toy
Congrats on the new Jeep! -Zach
ExtremeTerrain.com thank you! Now i have feeling that i need 2 door rubicon though 😅
We had Jeep Rubicons at work. My job requires frequent off roading. I took a Jeep once just to see if I could get stuck, and try out all the Rubicon features. I stayed in 4 high the whole time. I never got stuck ot high center. I never got to see how the axle lockers really worked. The standard 4x4 on a Jeep is all you really need. The added Rubicon features just make your jeep heavier. The Rubicon badging is more of a "Road Queen" marketing strategy. The towing package upgrades are definitely legit. Enjoy.
Agree to disagree, especially depending on what kind of off-roading you're looking at. Any Jeep can handle light trails, small rocks, shallow mud and gravel. Stock Spors or Saharas will absolutely get the job done in most cases like this on on muddy construction sites, especially once you manually disconnect the front swaybar. But if you plan on adding 35s or 37s and going rock crawling often, having front and rear lockers, electronic swapbar disconnects, 4.10 gears, Dana44s front and rear, and having a lower range transfer case all from the factory will help a *lot*. Does it help with marketing? Sure. But the package definitely has a purpose for those going to wheel it. -Zach
I LOVE my Rubicon!!
Urs is very colourful
Great review! 2021 willys team here
Thanks for watching, Tori! I love the Willys edition Wranglers, hope you're enjoying yours too! -Zach
Am here for you
I have a sport S and love it perfect mix of form and function for a low-ish price
It's definitely a great trim level for all of your creature comforts without paying for a Sahara or Rubicon! -Zach
Always amusing with touches of dorky, I particularly enjoyed this one. While Miatas unquestionably provide a lot of fun for the buck, they don’t fit me well. I had one of the first ones and stopped needing to visit the chiropractor three months after selling it. Wanting to give myself something fun for a milestone birthday, I purchased a CPO Audi TT Roadster, which is a comfortable Miata with all the bells and whistles, but after months of considering various trucks, (shortlisting the Raptor and Gladiator), I spontaneously picked up a new Jeep Sport, and I’m surprised by how much I like it. While virtually everything lacks the bucolic Bauhaus interface of the TT, the Jeep’s appeal is in it’s simplicity and having the luxury of not feeling a need to keep it spotless. While fuel costs may be a concern for some shoppers, the savings from not having to repair the abrasions on the Audi’s 19” wheels (whenever parking too close to a curb to maximize it’s protection) is substantial. The Jeep just crushes it, and the curb squeals. While my buddy instantly took it boulder crawling, I’m unlikely to need the additional hardware of the Rubicon. For me, the Jeep is the fun little truck no one makes anymore. I have the two-door, and with its hard top and soft top, I can throw a bike in the back without a rack, and with the roof rack, I can have a platformed tent. It’s all great for camping and a once a month cigarette.
It always makes me happy to see people enjoying Wranglers to the fullest! Super happy to hear you love the Jeep life! -Zach
1:41 Trailer "Toe" and HD Electrial Group, I'm good on toes, thanks.
I bet it even has disc breaks
Fully loaded Sahara! With upgraded wheels!
My 2017 Sahara JKU is the best!
Awesome Vid, Nice job!
Thanks for watching! We appreciate it! -Zach
Very very very happy with my 2018 Jeep jlu sport, 😇
Very good clear explanation of the differences. As was the JL vs JK video. Thank you very much. Every Jeep saleperson should be mandated to know this info. They do not.
Sad to say, but when I went to purchase my JL I knew a lot more about the Jeep I was looking at then the gentleman trying to sell it to me! It happens! -Zach
ExtremeTerrain.com Yes. Mine too. Mine didn’t know what an unlimited Wrangler was. Did not know that meant 4 door. Lol...
The Sahara is only available in the 4 door. If you don't like the red dash on the Rubicon, a grey dash is standard when you order the tan leather seats or if you order certain exterior paint colors.
The 84:1 rock crawl ratio mentioned in the video is actually the ratio when choosing the manual transmission, the auto transmission is 77.2:1
Really? 😔
Just got my wife a 2018 sahara yesterday. Seems nice so far but still need to get used to it coming from a charger but it’s hers so I figured if that’s what she wanted 🤷♂️
I'm new to the jeep world. Considering one as my next vehicle. Right now I am driving a 2014 Kia Sportage. Bought it then brand new off the lot. What is the mileage like on these jeeps? And how comfortable are they of a ride?
People used to buy Jeeps because they are cheap and cool and light and reliable but JL is not cheap anymore ! Actually in my country it’s more expensive than Nissan patrol or the mighty land cruiser ( lowest trim)
Cicada what's ur country
~$80,000 AUD here in australia
C Bonsall-Pearson god dam that crazy $80000 wtf
Land cruiser is soon to be no longer sold here. Not selling enough of them here not worth it.
Very good
Upgraded from a 2013 Sport in black to a 2018 JL Rubicon in color granite and it is a way better ride. But have had issues with radio and other parts on a brand new car! Should have waited for a 2019...
I have a Rubicon. It’s too nice!
I'm getting my Rubicon unlimited delivered next week, although I paid 65.000€ here in Spain... that's about 75.000$
Robecon is missing a 360 camera or at least side and front camera, that will make it ultimate especially in blind corners and tracks
Do you know when the JL is avaiable in New Zealand?
If the sport came with power windows I'd get it. I live in 2019 the age of drive thru. Miss me with that shit.
Put in a little elbow grease and crank that window down yourself. 😉 -Zach
O yeah, I forgot. I really like the red dash in the Rubicon.
Very informative. Will be using this info for my next purchase. Thanks!
Thanks for watching, Sofia! We're happy it helped out! -Zach
It's a very good jeep
thank you so much
Thanks a bunch for watching! -Zach
Rubicon with a V8 dropped in, and dual exhaust would be my dream vehicle. :-)
With enough money you can make it happen! I've seen plenty of LS, HEMI and HellCat swaps! -Zach
Sahara since I don't really go off roading. The extent of my off-roading is camping and driving through snow lol. Car looks too cool though.
I have the Mojito Rubi... no red dash, Silver. I wish Jeep went a little further and painted the dashes to match the exterior paint.
What do you expect for 50 grand? Lol
I still have my 2013 2 door black rubicon with 2.5 in lift and 35 in tires. I thought about upgrading to a JL for about 10 seconds. Cant do it. Still love my Jeep 😀
I love my 2017 JK too. LOL! Keeping it.
